Awesome hidden gem close to the airport, we did the Railbike at the Fox Train before coming to the airport. Got a quick bite. Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. Highly recommend lobster tacos and ceviche!

Casual atmosphere. Fantastic ambiance right by the Sac River. Rowan was tip top on service. Food was scrumptious & drinks delightful! Love this place!!

First time visitor. was with my family and 2 dogs. It's a little hidden behind the airport but really worthwhile. We were on the covered patio outside when it was about 100 degrees. the cool breeze off the river kept it cool and it was quite nice. The service was excellent. 2 of us are celiac and so we need to be 100% Gluten Fee. there were able to accommodate this no problem. The Shrimp Tacos were out of this world. Super tasty! Will be back for sure

Love sitting outside on the deck. A great place for a casual meal with the river right there. My only complaint is the outside chairs are extremely uncomfortable! Hard metal slats don't feel good on your butt. Need a bottom cushion please!

Rather than spend 3 hours at the airport, we ended up at Alamar for a late lunch before a flight. What a delight. Everyone was super friendly, the food was delicious, and the outdoor setting couldn't have been more enjoyable. Get the Tacos. They have a magic coating on the tortilla that is so so good.

Called ahead to make sure they were open. Always good to do this time of year due to weather issues. Great food and plenty of it. You wont go away hungry. Free parking. Have been going here for many years. Love the outdoor seating on the dock. Great indoor bar with plenty of tv's for watching your favorite sports, etc. Ill be a patron forever.

Too inflexible!!! They have shrimp n grits on the menu as well as fried fish. What's the big deal in substituting shrimp for fish n grits ?? It's all on the menu!!! Dined at Fixins the very next day - delicious and done!!! Not a problem substituting!!! Plus food at Alamar was mediocre at best. Clam Chowder had lots of potatoes and very little clams. Would not recommend - go to Fixins instead!!!

First-time experience. The restaurant was right on the river. It there was sitting inside and outside. The restaurant was clean and very nice. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. They had gluten-free options, and they were delicious. The drinks were delicious. I like how where you sat in the restaurant you had a great view of the river. Definitely recommend the restaurant.

From Vegas visiting family, they are here once before and had a great experience so we decided to try again. Staff was wonderful and quality pretty good. I had the pasta (yum), daughter had muscles, wife loved the shrimp tacos, catfish and lime salad. All winners!!! Thank you for a fun place to return to.

I always enjoy this place. Right on the river they have a smaller inside area to sit as well. Last time we went they had live music. Good vibes great people and good food. A nice gem.

We only live about 15 MI from the Alamar and have never been there. We sat outside on the dock patio area in the Sun and watched the boats on the Sacramento River. The food was great. I had the catfish sandwich and would recommend it and my wife had the chicken sandwich. The cocktails are really good. Kristen is a great waitress and I would recommend this place to everyone. 11/15: I went here with a friend for lunch. They always have a special and I try to get that every other time. The food is really good and fairly priced. Very good wait staff as well. You can't go wrong here!

Wow gorgeous views of the river, tantalizing Mai Tais, prompt service too!!!! We had tacos & chipotle lime salad/shrimp!! Quite yummy. Our server advised to tasted to salad dressing before putting on salad, cuz it might be too spicy I did& it was so I asked for ranch instead. All was wonderful. We get the check, we're charged . 50 for the ranch dressing 🤔 maybe they should make a milder version of the salad dressing instead. For a 17.00 salad, you wouldn't think you be charged for a different salad dressing.

Delicious, decent prices, and a fantastic location. We had the lobster roll and the hush puppies. Amazing all of it. Our servers were excellent and on top of things, friendly, and we're Johnny on the spot for everything. This is the place to go to for a little chill time in the river.

Wonderful friendly staff at this place!! Food was fantastic I had the lobster tacos and ahi seviche and also the smoked fish dip. Fresh tasting fish is a must and I highly recommend trying a rum runner also!

(to-go order) ordered the mojito lime dry rub wings. half of the order was either fine or dry (over cooked) and the other half was pink inside (under cooked). needless to say, not good. but the staff was courteous.

Our group tries to come here every couple of months. Its always great with a great menu. Lobster tacos, homemade clam chowder, Gumbo (sundays) are just a few. Their spring and summer menu includes mango ceviche. We showed up with 13 people and they did not disappoint. Great service from a friendly staff. Right on the water. With the river running high its pretty cool.

Okay...they have this shrimp and grits that is just like my great-grandmothers that is beyond a delish comfort food. And then you gotta try the blackberry crisp. Oh and Gumbo Sunday's are to die for...haven't had gumbo like that since NOLA!

Me and my wife went last Sunday. To watch the niner game, and have a couple of bloody Mary's with the shrimp and grits. The drinks, food, and the wait staff were all great definitely my new favorite spot. Had to update with the Clam chowder bowl!

Wow! Absolutely amazing. I wish I could have stayed for hours but unfortunately, I had to be on my way. I had lobster tacos and my wife had fish and chips. Both were fantastic as was the service and atmosphere (floating on the river). This place is hard to find so here are some simple directions. Get off I5 at the Sacramento Airport exit. Go towards the airport and take the offramp just past the gas station on the right. Turn right and pay attention to the sign that show directions including to the Garden Highway. Take the left towards the Garden Highway. You will drive parallel to I5 until you reach the Garden Highway. Turn Right and the second restaurant driveway on the left is Alamar Marina Restaurant & Bar. Like me, you may find that this is the best little hideaway you have ever found.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY AMERICA!! Today my wife and I ate lunch. We ordered The River Burger and the Cajun catfish sandwich and the smoked fish dip appetizer. Great place. Come here often, my mom a I had lunch here She loved it, on the water. 83 yrs.old on a cane made to the outside deck. Good handicap accessibility. Great view with both inside and outside dining It's so relaxing on the river.

Highly recommended! It was our first stop after landing in Sacramento. A very close drive from the airport and amazing food to boot!

Really cool spot on the river! Inside and outside dining. There's a downhill ramp and then about 10 stairs to get down to the restaurant. Great food 👍 Friendly staff. I enjoyed seeing people passing by in boats and other watercraft vehicle's. $

People were friendly, food was good beer was cold. There was 5 in our party and there prices are good.

Service and food were amazing! This was a great break from the boat and a good meal.

We arrived on Sunday morning 4/24/22 at ll:28 a.m. with our 2 dogs hoping to have lunch there. As soon as we arrived our server told us they were switching from breakfast to lunch and when I asked how long it would be before we could order she said 15-20 minutes. We decided to stay and wait. I asked for a menu but was told they don't give them out until they are ready for lunch orders. Strange.. you can pull it up online. Anyway it was after 12:00 by the time they started passing out menus. and they started giving out menus and orders from people who arrived after we did. Then we finally got our order in at 12:15. By this time the dogs are getting antsy and whiny and we finally just decided to cancel the order and leave. They should have signage at the restaurant and notes on their website and menu that says they don't take food orders between ll:30-12. And certainly the staff should be truthful about how long the wait is if someone asks. I was very disappointed as I'd heard good things about the place. Too bad.

If you want delicious food, top notch drinks, and excellent service Almar Marina is the place to go. We had a burger and the fish and chips and it was amazing. It was busy, but our server provided excellent customer service, checked on us multiple times and even helped us with a to go order.

Had lunch here, today! Delicious shrimp tacos and the calamari appetizer was also wonderful. They were accompanied by a couple glasses of Matchbook Arsonist Chardonnay, which is a very good wine. Service by Tiara was impeccable! It was my first time here. The location, food and wine all rated 5 stars in my opinion. I'll be back!

Enjoyed breakfast and the staff was very nice too. However they don't have much in the way of low carb breakfasts, but I still managed.

Very laid back and not overcrowded! The food was pretty good and decent sized portions. I thought it was a little pricey but isn't everything!! The restrooms were especially clean (just thought id share my appreciation for that)!

Just flew in & stopped by based off other reviews. The bartender was amazing & personable…the food was delicious (Buffalo Sandwich) & right on the River. Lots of TV’s in the bar & bartender put on the Red Sox game for us.

Right on the river, beautiful view. Our waiter was very helpful checking on us. Both kinds of fish and chips were great. But What brought tears to our eyes, Was a reserved table for the 13 fallen soldiers that lost their lives in Is airport cowardiced bombing in Afghanistan. See attached photo for the names.

Absolutely love this place. I work in cancer which can be very high stress. On my days when I'm not needed on site, they let sit there, work, eat and drink as long as I want. If cancer has to be tough, at least the Alamar can be amazing. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is relaxing but the people who work there are the true gems! I highly recommend it. Just please save a table for me.

A little pricey, but a nice environment, and uniquely good food. Too bad they don’t have a membership card so let’s say you come at least 3 times in the last 28 days, and get 25% off every meal including guests, and drinks, until less than 3 times in 30 days. Tracking membership could be done with a cellphone number. Tracked automatically with a little program or cellphone app. Lots of people do this kind programming. The same app could track customer preferences, tipping, comments, past problems, historical group sizes, times they come in, company affiliations, …. Something like Groupon but much more useful without recurring fees.

I’m not a good critic but I definitely know good food. A friend brought me here when I offered to take her to Ruth Chris. She swore the Alamar was better. Skeptical I reluctantly agreed to check it out. Down a ramp way perched right along the water it was an amazing atmosphere. My friend ordered the Buffalo Chicken burger and I had an Alamar burger. As far as the food goes I can say without any doubt or reservation that it is indeed better than Ruth Chris. The crunch of the crispy chicken sandwich was something I had not experienced before. And the burger was juicy and full of flavor. Hot and crunchy French fries coupled with a fine lemonade on a warm summer day made the the whole experience, perfect.

Went there for the first time for a wedding. The place is very nice, the staff extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. If you are looking for a nice time out on the river I highly recommend the Alamar.
