Outstanding authentic Greek food, great service and reasonable prices. I was extremely pleased.

We had dinner with our Del Webb Dinner Club patrons, so we were a very large party! My wife and I both had the Biftekia entree which came with soup or salad. My wife had the Lentil soup, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the lemon chicken rice soup, which was very good. I had read that Biftekia is Greek hamburger made with ground beef and lamb. Our entrees came with two patties, rice and green beans. The Biftekia was somewhat flavorful but dry. It lacked something, like a sauce or gravy, to make it more flavorful and less dry. Service was outstanding, even for a part our size. Hayden, who was our server for our side of the room was exceptional.

This was our first time at this restaurant, along with family and friends who had never been there also. We all give it a five star thumbs up.

Everything is perfect in this restaurant and not just because of the excellent service. The food is so good my kid eats everything and always asks to come back.

The food here is soooo goood. Everything we've tried has been delicious. What really makes this place even better is their super nice staff. They really know how to treat customers. The amazing food and staff keep us coming back. Make reservations on the weekend nights or hard to get a spot!

The Athenian Owl is inviting. Is it clean yes. The atmosphere is welcoming. Finally, the food was delish.

I liked the little cute old world restaurant, seems like family owned and run. The food though was one of my least favorite. It was not fresh, greasy .. just one of the lowest quality Mediterranean I had in town. I got pretty nauseous after eating there last week.

Fantastic. I've heard great things about this place and it exceeded my expectations. Quickly added this spot to my favorite restaurants and I can't wait to come back. Wow! Thank you so much for a great night and amazing food!

The baklava was off the chain!! The vegetarian veggies in the vinegar sauce had the perfect blend of seasoning with the veggies. Roasted lamb and 5 wedge taters floating in gravy was good. Expected more tho in that plate. Personalities in all the staff are extremely memorable. Fact is I doordashed as a driver from here 2 yes ago and the staff interactions with me as a doordash driver is what brought me back. Worth a visit. Not a super cheap night but worth it. Oh, they have a legit Vegetarian section on the menu. My better half was happy. New booth seating coming soon 👀

My husband and I are visiting from out of town and a friend brought us here for dinner. The staff was friendly and their service was great! It was a pleasant family friendly atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were a great deal for the price! My only complaint is that I wish I lived closer so I could try more of their menu. If visit again this will definitely be on my list if places to eat!

We love this quaint, Mom and Pop restaurant tucked in the Baymeadows area. They serve authentic Greek food —we love the spanakopita—the best ever and all of the fish dishes and Greek dishes most are familiar are just really stupendous. Ample servings and great service from all. Make reservations for the weekend.

This was my first visit, and I was disappointed to say the least. Our waitress although very nice was short on refilling drinks and checking to see if we needed anything else. We had to ask someone else for our check. My husband enjoyed his food, but the Spanakopita seemed like it was fried, and it left grease on the plate. They have always been baked at other places that I have visited. Maybe I will give it another try but I was not impressed with the mainly the service on my first visit.

Had a gyro with fries. The food and service were both very good. Will be back to try more of the menu! Update: went again tonight. Hummus and pita were amazing. The pita is thinner than I'm used to, but the texture and flavor were amazing. The Greek salad hit the spot, and I'm not usually impressed by salads.

Delicious! And such wonderful hospitality. Come here for a great meal where you feel like family.

The food wasn't seasoned, I had the Gyro. The salad was the only thing that was tasty.

Super cute authentic Greek off of baymeadows. The service was excellent and the food was amazing! Even the fresh baked bread came out fluffy and hot! Will definitely be dining here again.

My husband and I loved everything about the his place. Not only is the customer service excellent but the food is absolutely delicious and feels healthy but indulgent at the same time. We wish we had discovered it sooner.

We live at the beach but happened to be on this side of town around dinner time. I am so glad we decided on this place! It is so charming, atmosphere amazing, everyone friendly. It felt like I was eating at my family house, Greek music playing, and the food was to die for! We will be back to try everything on the menu!!

We had an awesome experience. Our waitress Bee was very attentive and made sure everthing was amazing. Even the manager checked on us. We had pita spread and calamari for apps. For dinner we had the greek spaghetti, lamb souvlaki and the roasted lamb we were stuffed so we are taking the dessert home! This is a must try!

Not a good experience. The size of the order compared to the price of it was very small. The taste was ok. I am Mediterranean and grew up with these foods, also worked in Greek restaurants when first arrived in the States. My opinion is an educated one. First Greek restaurant I’ve tried that didn’t use olive oil…

This is my favorite restaurant! I order DoorDash maybe 3 times a week & worth it! Also my orders are always made then packed with care. You can tell the food & staff are very authentic!!!!

The food was not authentic Greek food. We waited over 20 min until the very nice Waitress showed up at our Table. In her words, she didn’t know that this is her table. I had the stuffed wine leaves as a starter chicken souvlaki with vegetables and rice . I love geek food and ate a lot of Greek food all over the world, specially in Greece. The souvlaki was not a souvlaki , more like fried chicken with oily rice and overcooked vegetables. The wine leaves were really good. The staff is very friendly and the Restaurant is a place where you feel comfy immediately. Overall a nice very restaurant with acceptable food which is not really authentic

The hostess lady was rude and straight up angry. We were sat and then totally ignored. Two tables that were sealed after us got their drinks and put in their order and we hadn't met our server. Eventually just left.

Beef souvlaki is 10/10. It’s so good it’s all I think about.

This family owned Greek restaurant has great service and delicious food. The spanakopita and souvlaki were both delicious. The bread they served was really good and they offer Gluten Free rolls.

Everything abouthis place made me feel like I was actually in Greece. From the greeting, to the service, right to the amazing food.

I simply popped in for a take out order and had the most pleasant 20 minutes of my day being served by George, the owner and getting to chat a bit. This place is amazing. I went with my disciple group from church. We had about 10 of us there. The service was quick, atmosphere and the food exceeded my expectations. I can not wait to go back again. Everyone enjoyed their food. This place is definitely authentic.

Always a pleasure to come dine with them. The hospitality cannot be matched. I’ve been coming here for many years and they never disappoint. Today we came with my office staff to celebrate a birthday and they surprised us with a beautiful plate with an assortment of fabulous Greek desserts. They truly love serving their guests and treat them like family.

Five stars because I can’t give them ten stars. Exceptional food, staff, and experience. Came in for dinner and came back the next night because I enjoyed the experience that much. Will return the next time I visit Jax. The food was unmatched. The entire staff is passionate about their art.

Amazing experience celebrating Valentine's Day a little early. The flaming Saganaki was a great beginning to a fabulous meal. The service and friendliness of all made it feel more like family.

This restaurant transported me back to Greece. I have been wanting to come here for years, and finally was able to drive from Gainesville to try it out! I think I will be coming back on a monthly basis now. The atmosphere, family oriented staff, and excellent food were more than enough reason to become a regular here. Moon was the best server we could have asked for, and the owner was a delight to talk to as he roamed the restaurant. 100/10 for everything. Me and my husband will be talking about this incredible meal and experience for a long, long time. Σας ευχαριστώ!

If you want to eat out "with family", this is the place! From the moment you walk in greeted with a smile and heartfelt welcome to when you leave you'll feel right at home. Everyone from family owners to all staff make it a delightful experience with exemplary service and amazing food that can't be beat. Calamari will make you melt!!! Stuffed Artichokes and Dolmades are so delicious. Must try is their Avgolemono Soup, Yiorgos Chicken Surprise and then Birds Nest for dessert. We always look forward to a wonderful meal and fun! It's a nice and friendly place, with great bread and good chicken soup. I ordered a beef souvlaki, allegedly made of beef tenderloin. What I got was cubed beef, no bigger than a standard crouton, and at that size, it couldn't be anything but dry. Stay away from that dish, the tzatziki was good though

Great food always. Go to spot for Greek for me. Dolmades, souvlaki saganaki all the best stuff. Treated like your family. Try the Greek beer!

I love this family and this restaurant. Always great food and service. Wines unavailable at other restaurants or stores are worth coming to taste. I prefer the Mavro Daphne- they call communion wine because it is a sweet red. Be careful as it goes down so easy you think you can handle another glass. The Athenian Owl is a warm sit down and take your time kind of place. Truly a unique, hidden gem tucked away in an unassuming strip center package. Bring your girl or your ma and an appetite.

Truly authentic and affordable! We shared a Melitazanto and Chicken Souvlaki - both delicious. The lemon/chicken Avgolemono soup too. Logan, our waiter was just wonderful. Love the lively atmosphere - love this place!

Happy to say this place is great, its just a homey cozy feeling being inside. Super friendly staff, just a great atmosphere. Prices aren't ridiculous either. I found this place a while back while on a lunch break for work and continue to go back. Love this place.

Finally tried this restaurant and was completely satisfied....excellent service. The octopus was grilled to perfection. The lamb was tender and spinach sautéed with garlic was very flavorful.

The best domades I've ever eaten! Everything was authentic and delicious, and the service was fantastic.

Dined here for the first time for dinner on a Friday night it was wonderful! All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious! The prices were really good considering it includes bread and a soup or salad. I will definitely return!

My favorite place in JAX! Incredible food, very friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere.

First time visitors. We ordered the Moussaka with a bowl of avgolemono (a lemon chicken and rice soup) and a gyro with fries. Food was very flavorful and was *clearly* made by hand, just as though it would have been cooked at home. We will definitely be regulars here!

If you're looking for authentic Greek food while in Jacksonville, this restaurant is a must; no need to go anywhere else. My wife Athena and I were in town for an appointment at Mayo and we ate here two nights in a row and whenever we're in Jacksonville. Food is consistently amazing, service equally exceptional in a very relaxed and beautiful atmosphere with prices that are very reasonable. George and his Mother are some of the friendliest and caring owners you're going to encounter. I've eaten at Greek restaurants from coast to coast in the US and I can without a doubt say this is my favorite. Highly recommend you give the Athenian Owl a try.

I can't say enough nice things about this charming eatery. The service was excellent and even though there were several large parties in the restaurant we didn't have to wait long to be seeded or to receive our appetizers. Our waiter had a great personality and gave us some very good recommendations. I had my heart set on the grilled octopus and saganaki even before we arrived and was not disappointed in the slightest! It was the most tender octopus I've ever had and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

This place was amazing. The owner and servers were so friendly. I tried the Greek coffee Which was nice and strong. We shared the lamb shank, lemon chicken soup and the house-made bread. The lamb had an amazing flavor and felt like a healthier option. I want to come back and try the baklava cheesecake!
