Cute restaurant in Deland! Several gluten free options, which was why we tried this place out. It was so good, we ate here two nights in a row! The gluten free oatmeal cream pies are AMAZING. Service was also great!

Hands down FAVORITE new spot! From the extremely friendly & accommodating service to the Incredible choices on the Menu...the only disappointment was we couldn't return the next day for the Maple blueberry burger and Who's Wanda as they are closed on Sundays. The atmosphere is cozy and a mix of Industrial, Vintage, and Hipster. We took forever to decide and and our waiter was very patient, offering samples to help us decide. We finally choose the soup of the day...forgot the name, which was unique, refreshing and a perfect starter, the Scallop Rangoon's, which is now my favorite dish ever with a crispy outside and warm gooey pimento cheese inside, the portabella mushroom burger, which was perfect all around, the beets and goat cheese went together so well, another new favorite, and the poke noodle bowl which my Son pretty much licked the bowl! We loved that they had my favorite New Orleans craft brew Abita, so I had to have a Purple Haze, but also discovered a new brew, forgot the name, but it paired perfectly with our diverse choices in the meal. I normally don't do desert, but I couldn't resist the Sopapilla cheesecake that was as good, if not better than it sounded! They explained they had a new Menu, so if you haven't been in a while, it's time to come back! We can't wait to get back for the rest!

Food was fantastic! Service was standard. The a/c was blowing freezing air directly on the table blowing the menus over the entire time. It was so uncomfortable.

My friend and I came in on a Tuesday afternoon and were immediately seated. I've seen it be super busy often. We sat at the bar table to watch the cooks. The staff was very friendly and the cooks seemed to be enjoying their work as well. Great environment. We ordered the Boulevard and the Left Hander and intended to split it because we couldn't decide what seemed better. Upon hearing us say so, the waiter requested the chefs to split it for us and serve it that way. Super convenient and less messy for us. The food itself was super amazing. That burger and chorizo combo was amazing. I've attempted to make one long ago and failed but this one definitely had a great ratio of each. I'm not a huge fan of plantains but it complimented the flavors well and overall quite delicious. The chicken sandwich was also so good. Perfectly cooked chicken, not dry or tough. The goat cheese and balsamic on it had great flavors. It had a hint of citrus, and I think I should have asked for a lemon wedge and added more juice to make it stand out more and bring this dish to the next level. We also had a Madeira cake for dessert, the lemon and blueberry. Since it is a heavier cake I definitely couldn't eat the whole piece alone but awesome portion. The restaurant is small on the inside but the acoustics are good. I was able to have a conversation without involving the entire restaurant or being drowned out by them. I was very happy with my experience here and I would love to come back and try some of their other dishes. I was also told that they have ever-changing specials so definitely worth checking out more than once.

Super friendly staff that gave great recommendations and I can see why they have awesome reviews/very busy! Had the chorizo burger, definitely flavored blasted! Will be back again!

Whatever the time, wait to go inside. The most amazing food, we had the Sabrina (hats off to the chef!!!) and the Cocky Joe. What made it amazing was Hunter’s efficient service. Great ambience. A Do Not miss in Deland!!!!

As a chef, I can say that Bake Chop is a true culinary gem in DeLand. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and crafted with care—a perfect ten out of ten. Every dish reflects the best of local ingredients, cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a place where you can truly enjoy every bite. If you're looking for exceptional food in a friendly setting, Bake Chop is a must-visit.

The fishbowl says it comes with swordfish & is priced at $27, which I've received & loved. Twice they called to say they were out of fish & substituted with something else (chicken, etc.), no price change. The last 3 times, it's come with burnt salmon, no phone call, no explanation. Just called ahead of time to check what I'd be surprised with, and the person who answered the phone was snotty & rude, which has NEVER happened before. Rudeness in addition to paying $27 for small, burnt salmon is too much. I love this place, so I'm just giving 3 stars & hoping they see this 🙏🏼

Sweet little place tucked into Artisan Alley makes it feel like a hidden gem. Small but on point menu. Visited twice both times for lunch and very content both times. Servers are attentive and on game.

What a quaint atmosphere! Most anything on the menu can be done gluten free. I had The Who's Wanda. I think it was meant as an appetizer. Only 4 shrimp and half an avocado on top of a black bean salsa. The salsa was a bit spicy for me but the shrimp and grilled avocado were great! The service was very good and quick. We really appreciated Taylor giving us a bit of history about the place and the surrounding businesses! She made us feel like part of the family!

Loved my sandwich ‘ Let Saigon be Saigon’s’. Excellent!! This is only the second time I have eaten at Baked Chop and it’s been two great experiences!! Staff is very knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions. I had 4 sandwich’s I was interested in, so for me lots of options. I would like to someday try one of their desserts!! They look amazing! We had to wait 10 minutes for a table but shaded tables were provided. This was at lunch time. Not sure what the wait times would be for evening? I definitely want to go back! I was told they had a new menu. So glad to see they are changing up things from time to time!! I can’t say I like the two “generic” restrooms, but the do seem to be kept clean!! Oh and by the way I got the watermelon salad with my sandwich and it too was fantastic!! Yum!! Doesn’t seem like you can go wrong dining at this establishment!! Bon appetite!

Extraordinary everything. One of the very best restaurants in entire Florida. No matter how spoiled by food you are, you won’t be disappointed. After your meal get one of their desserts - cupcakes are just amazing. Best we ever had.

We have been in and out over the last 7 years. The last good server we had left a few years ago. Since then, every time we visit, the service has been less spectacular. Tonight was probably our worst experience. We went for a nice evening out, and we knew the menu before we walked in so we could order without much fuss. After we sat, we were able to make our drink orders kind of quick, but the young man was short on discussion and walked away without much conversation. I noted the staff were all hanging out behind the counter, and even after they served our drinks had not asked us if we were ready to order. We could watch the staff flirting or playing while we watched several customers looking around for staff to help with checks or anything. After waiting 20 minutes, a young lady took our order. The wait time for food to be cooked to perfection was expected and did not disappoint. What did disappoint was no one came to see if the food was good or not as we heard them giggle behind the counter. After a few bites of my sweet potato fries, I realized they were way over salted but tried to push on as the burger was great. I placed my fries to the side and waited to catch staff attention to note the saltiness. We both finished our meals and continued to wait for staff assistance, and we were already looking forward to dessert. Again, the waiting game to get staff attention was annoying. I decided to just stand up and ask for the check at the counter since none of the staff wanted to clear tables, pickup tips, or ask if anyone wanted anything. Truly disappoint with the way things have changed. Also the bolt sticking out by the entry is not only an eyesore but a safety concern as it was loose and sticking out 3 inches before I pushed it in.

Yesterday ordered salad for 15 And mahi, I received 2 thin tiny burnt and extreme salty pieces , called mahi for 17. When went there to return and question the quality , personel didn’t even bother to accommodate, change , substitute or anything what they do in any other normal place . Terrible quality and rip off!

Bake Chop is a cool restaurant, in the heart of downtown DeLand, serving elevated American dishes. We went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was very busy, but we were seated quickly. You can sit inside or out. We sat inside due to the heat. It has a very cool & comfy vibe. It's a great place for families, friend get-togethers, or date nights. The noise level can be kind of high with the dull roar of the crowd. The service is outstanding! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. There were several servers who checked on us and refilled our drinks while our server was busy. Since it was our first time, we asked about the menu items. Our server described the food in great detail. We started with the hummus, which is made in-house. It's served with bread & veggies. It's very good. Then, we had the bison burger with a side salad (which was one of the Daily Dally specials). It was SO GOOD, I had to dance after my first bite! The burger had a sweet & smoky aioli that was a perfect finish for the burger with duck chicherons (sp?). I had to bring some home with me! 😊 Overall, I enjoyed the food and experience of Bake Chop. I'll definitely go again the next time we're in DeLand.

6.28.24 The menu has changed up a bit however, still very good choices for all tastes. Service is exemplary! My 'Duck, Duck, Mousse!' was awesome I must say. Bison Patty w/duck breast pate mousse, black cherry amaretto aioli, lemon vinaigrette dressed arugula and crispy duck chicharrons on a toasted bun. The Quiche was very good. I'm not in DeLand much anymore but when I am I have to add Bake Chop to my itinerary. The Plantains were the most fresh and delicious I've every had, perfectly cooked. Billy Madison - sloppy joe meat, spicy collards, manchego cheese, served on a house made croissant. Best sandwich I’ve ever had. Pricey. Return 12.8.2018 Who's Wanda Salad. Medium to large shrimp grilled to perfection. First time to have a grilled avocado...delicious. The adobo mayo was spicey, so tread lightly if you don't like it that way. Table mate had the Billy Madison o my recommendation and they agreed with my review a year or so ago. Great service and a very lively kitchen and dining area.

I have been to this restaurant numerous times. I recommend the bowls… any of them… and the burgers with the exception of the superfood bean patty ( not much flavor and falls apart) . The sides are all tasty, as well.

Have been to bake chop more than 5 or 6 times since we moved to central Florida. Have never had a bad experience and the food is always delicious! 100% worth the price. Specifically we love the coffee here. It is a bit of an unusual thing to mention given this is a full service restaurant but as a bit of a coffee snob that I am, I must mention it. Their espresso is never bad or off in any way. Shots are pulled perfectly every dang time. My preferred way to drink it is an iced latte with no sugar and half and half and each and every time it just hits the spot. If you're passing thru DeLand just skip Trilogy and head to the order window of Bake Chop (literally three minute walk down the street and they use trilogy beans). Guarantee you'll get a better drink, better food/pastries and way better service.

The food is phenomenal here! Try the magic mushrooms (we nearly licked the plate) and the chickpea side dish. I also really like the sweet potato fries. Update: We went back, and I remembered to take a picture of my dish! Everything was so good again, as expected. It was a toss-up between two bowls (Earth bowl and Fish bowl), so the server recommended I combine some elements from each. The result was delicious. I also had their sangria....yum!

The food is phenomenal! Great service. I was very impressed. This is literally a hidden gem. We will definitely be back. I think this is my new favorite place in DeLand. Update: second visit to Bake Chop last night. The food was even better the second time. There should be a line out the door for this place.

This place was fantastic! The Brie Burger was out of this world. The salad was full of dark greens, fresh and flavorful! Hunter never let our drinks run out! Just great food and service.

One of my favorite restaurants to go to when I'm in Downtown DeLand. The food is delicious. The place has a great vibe. The staff is awesome, and the cooks will talk and joke with you if you sit at the bar. Overall a great experience.

Great spot for an early lunch. There was a line outside before they opened and now I know why. Stooped in for a coffee and ended up splitting a hand held called the “Cocky Joe”. It’s basically a cheese steak. Shaved steak with grilled onions and peppers and melted provolone on top with a little kick. Bread was nice a soft and chips on the side. Service was great and venue had a nice vibe. There’s a couple of tables outside with shade.

The caramel macchiato is pretty good but the brunch bowl is absolutely amazing!!! Wish we had a place like this in MI

Dreadful experience! After glowing reviews on Google we looked forward to a nice lunch. Nice waitress! However the Buttermilk chicken sandwich came with charred chicken tough enough for a cobbler to sole your boots, accessorized by wilting lettuce and over ripe tomatoes. My companion had a BLT which had ONE slice of applewood bacon very very crispy on bread that tasted stale. Both sandwiches were accompanied with overcooked cold french fries. A manager ( I presume) came by sensing our displeasure and insincerely offered an apology but made no effort to correct or replace the food. When I suggested that his lack of active response reflected a very insincere apology … he called me rude. Came back and literally threw takeaway boxes on table and charged full price ($40) for the above!! I left the food on the table and after paying we walked out never to come back! I’m glad so many others enjoy this place. This was one customer and companion who would call it a disasterous lunch. Way overpriced also!

Solid food, but a bit too oily/greasy. Great atmosphere. Fairly slow service. Was waiting around longer than most restaurants, but they seem to run a pretty slim staff.

Arrived at 6:30pm on a Friday evening, and the restaurant was quite crowded! I grabbed the last available seat at the bar, and despite how crowded it was, I was able to get a water and place my order very quickly, food arrived faster than I was expecting, and it was absolutely delicious! The sandwich I ordered was called the Boulevard and it featured a grilled chicken breast on toasted ciabatta topped with herbed goat cheese, balsamic glaze, tomatoes, onions, and mixed greens. Flavors were outstanding all around, especially the herbed goat cheese, of which they applied a healthy amount! The mac and cheese was also outstanding and is just the way I like it! You can tell they use a rich, well-spiced cheese sauce AND regular melted cheese, so it had the creaminess from the sauce, but also a legitimate cheese pull in every bite from the melted cheddar! A very well run establishment with exceptional food!

Bake chop is an amazing little restaurant with unique eats and everything was delicious! I highly recommend the brie burger. They also had a pretty tasty wine and beer selection. Hunter was a fantastic server!

This is a cute little place downtown. My opinion it’s a little pricy but the food is tasty. The service is great but getting a seat Is kinda odd. Some people tend to just sit out side and wait for someone and others go to the host stand and ask. Other wise a great place

Stopped in here with four people for lunch. Have to go into blue Springs Park. We all ordered different meals and everything was fabulous. Staff and cooks all very friendly. A great place to stop on eat folks aren’t really vegan, but would like to eat out of the box for a change Grilled chicken sandwiche was cooked perfectly.

This place is wonderful for a casual dinner. The food is excellent and service friendly. It is a bit noisy inside but if the weather is good sitting outside in the alley is a great experience any day except on a Friday when the alley can be a madhouse.

Excellent. Unique. Different. We had Greek salad with grilled chicken and the Fish (Mahi ) quinoa veggie bowl. The flavor was amazing. Service is always great. Eat healthy, be happy.

We got lucky and were able to be seated right away on a busy Friday night. Our server Matinicus was wonderful and so attentive, he made our experience that much more special. Also I really enjoyed the kitchen chefs who were having a great time infusing love and fun into our food as they jammed out intermittently, they created such a light and fun atmosphere. I had the tikka masala special and my husband had the cocky Joe, along with the homemade hummus appetizer and a delicious lemoncello trifle - so good! Highly recommend, will def be back to try out more of their menu :)

Recently moved to Central Florida. Our first visit to Deland and the Bake Chop was highly recommended as a place to have dinner. Went to the window, were told to go in a seat ourselves and a server would be over. We did, but no server came by. Others entered and were waited on. We waited about 10 minutes and walked out. Wasn’t really crowed???

1/2/24 had the aliccin wonderland burger and it was absolutely devine!! Server's are always amazing and food spot on!! Still absolutely love the burgers here! Always delicious 😋 We went 2 days in a row. Definitely an amazing burger. The one with peppers and blackberry was amazing!! Cooked with a nice crust and soft juicy center.

One of my favorite places to eat in Downtown DeLand, the food is consistently good, and the atmosphere is always cheery. It's within walking distance of a lot of good stores, so it's nice to stop by and have lunch while you're out on the town

Service gets a four because it was like if robots helped us, but I like robots. Food was so good, daughter got a chicken sandwich and fries GOOD, beef Wellington SO GOOD, salad SO GOOD IVE NEVER had grapefruit I actually like. So good. Saigon's Sandwich almost got it but person I was with did get it and sweat through the delicious spice it had. Matcha lemonade BOMB. Would totally return asap. Brussel sprouts 🤤 oh and I brought home a cocky joe and it was so good.

The food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is great, but very loud since the kitchen is very open. The service was a bit disappointing. I had to keep going to the register area to ask for refills and our waitress never checked to see if we needed anything.

Bakechop is probably one of my favorite places to eat in Deland. I love trying all the new specials they offer, and I have never been dissapointed with my order. The service is also always top tier.

Nice place , excellent service, Don't sit at the counter watching the line cook preparing meals. After cleaning the prep counters with a dirty rag with no gloves. Then preparing customer order and touching the food while placing on a plate is disgusting.

Got the vegan tempeh sandwich and sweet potato fries. The sandwich had raw onions in the avocado mash (they should just call it guac to avoid confusion) onions suck. Everything was very oily and salty (but that’s what most people are used to eating these days, we eat clean, so the flavors were a little much). My husband liked it but said it was big enough to share. I picked at mine and then threw it all up - but probably not their fault since I’m pregnant and dealing with the worst morning sickness. Probably would not eat here again due to the salt and oil. But we appreciate the vegan options!! We got it to go and appreciated the eco-friendly containers, please dont give out plastic bags. (The world should ban those and styrofoam). Parking lot nearby.

Despite the casual, trendy atmosphere, Bake Chop features a delicious assortment of meat-based foods that are high quality, alongside excellent salads and one or two vegetarian burger-like options. Dining spaces are either indoors or at outside courtyard tables right in Artisan Alley. It is a fun place to hang out, and the burgers are exceptional. Check it out! There may be a bit of a wait to be seated during the most popular time-slots. Definitely check this restaurant out. It's worth the wait!!!

I usually do not leave bad reviews but this time I had to. I came for the first time and had fries that were beyond beyond salty…I thought that was a fluke and never said anything. On my second time, my brunch bowl was super salty to the point that it was barely eatable. I love salt so for me to say this means the average person would have complained way earlier than I am. I have no idea how people with high BP can come and eat here (not my case)…definitely not safe for people looking for low salt intake). I don’t believe I will be back even though the server said to ask for no salt next time…We both felt sick after the meal and the experience was not good. I had meals that had lots of salt before but this takes the cake.

Fabulous outside eating area ,I was truly amazed by the food. The boulevard consistency in marinating there chicken was amazing .Steph the server Carly the hostess was polite and informative.

Meet a friend there because i heard alot about the spot. Ordered a glass of wine and the server said they were out. So i ordered a beer and waited for my friend. When e arrived he ordered a mich ultra and they said they didnt carry mich ultras. We went to order an app and jokingly said but your probably out, and the server said acutually me do not have that today. How can you be out of stock on basic items and if you are out take them off the menu. Ridiculous!!!

My go to place for perfect coffee and burgers. The coffee cups can be BIG I love them!

Wow, just delicious. We had the Cocky Joe with onion rings. The rings were melt in your mouth, wonderful morsels of fried heaven. The sandwich was equally as wonderful. The meat was tender and perfect, vegetables were clearly fresh and tasty. The picture does not do this sandwich justice. We also had the Bluto chicken sandwich with a watermelon feta salad. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Unfortunately, it was just a little too fried, and the breading was a bit too hard. But, no worries, the watermelon salad was so flavorful and fresh, was just delightful. We drove about an hour to eat here and were not disappointed. It is a little pricey for a sandwich, but the quality is evident. Will definitely come back, and for sure will get the cocky Joe.

Finally stopped in to try this place for lunch today. I had the tempeh sandwich and my husband had the bean burger. Good vegetarian and vegan options. We really liked the food and atmosphere and the service was great. Two thumbs up!

This restaurant is small and so you might have to wait, but it's worth it. I had a delicious burger on a fresh fluffy bun. The staff is kind and efficient. I'll definitely be back!

What a delicious and fun place to eat! Lots of good choices for a vegetarian as they have substitutions. They have awesome fresh salads as well. The quiche lunch special was good and was a reasonable price as well. The passionfruit creme brûlée was amazing!! Get there early if you want to sit inside though they do have several outdoor courtyard patio tables with umbrellas for shade. I would definitely go again when in the area.

Something for everyone, vegetarian, small plate, salads, handhelds. Do try the magic mushrooms and greek salad. The classic burger would balance out all those vegetables, and there is the Philly mushroom sandwich. Pricing is very moderate. Liked my fish burger.

The food and atmosphere of this place is great. However the food is a bit pricey but the quality of the food you get is worth it.

Stopped here for an iced coffee during the artisan alley market and will be recommending my friends here from now on! Our waitress Bridget made our drinks quick and to perfection! Can honestly say this was the best coffee I’ve ever had. Will definitely be coming back!

This place is cute. The food wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting. I popper burger with an impossible burger and no bacon. I was expecting an explosion of flavor, the components sounded good but I just didn't get the pop of the heat from the cheese and jalapenos and then the burst of berry to cool it off. It was ok, perhaps I picked the wrong dish? The place was a little hot so, that was a little bit of an issue for me too.

If you want to relax and have a great healthy meal, this is your place.
