We always go to local places before chain restaurants. This place didn't disappoint. The food was hot and delicious. Great service and we'll definitely be back when we're back in that area.

Just stopped to say hi to some long list friends. Cried and laughed a little. Love that kitchen crew. We went through alot of high and lows together

Huge portions, none of us could finish anything. Kind of ugly looking and i wish we could have sat outside, but otherwise our food was good and so was our service! The patio should get open so you can sit outside!

We actually ate here twice while on vacation, it was fantastic. The price was decent the portions where huge. I had the fried fish and my husband had a club both were excellent. The 2nd time we went both of us had cheeseburgers also excellent.

There is nothing fancy about the 776. Just had grilled grouper sandwich for lunch and it was fantastic. It was a very generous portion fresh and perfectly cooked. I ordered grilled because I want to enjoy the fish without breading or lots of spices. This was as good or better than any I've had at any restaurant in Florida.

I crave their grouper! Excellent. We bring all of our company here at least once. They all love it. Expect to carry out a doggy bag.

My friend and I have been here 3 times. The food is very good. We get the taco salad. However this evening after eating we were just sitting and talking. One of the other waiters came and asked us to leave. We got up immediately thinking there were people waiting for our table. As I looked around, there were several empty tables and no one waiting to be seated. It was only 7pm. They don't close until 8:30. So I'm not sure what caused this, but I can guarantee they won't have to ask us to leave again. We won't be back.

Small little place for fried seafood. Thought we would love it but after a couple hours and still tasting the grease it was fried in, I'll have to give it a pass. Staff were friendly.

This is the second time there. Rude waitress again as we walked through the door. She profiled us as we walked in the door. Guess you have to be old and lethargic to get good service. The food also on the second trip sucked

When I first walked in I didn't have high hopes for this place. You wait outside but you can't eat outside. Most of the food is fried but you get huge portions. It's very good if you like fried seafood. We thought it was great and I'm giving it 5 stars. The atmosphere is just ok but come for the food. Service was good too. Did I say you get a huge amount of food? No charge to split plates.

Love this place. Delicious food, huge 2 pieces of grouper. Very large hamburgers.. Great margaritas. Get there before 4pm or wait outside in bar room...lots of people. Hidden gem.

Absolutely horrible meal. Turkey sandwich looked like spam on hard day old bread. Burger was huge, but the mayo ruined it. Pretty sure it was spoiled. The coffee was so disgusting that I couldn't drink it. The waitress saw that the coffee and the food was not touched, but never once asked to do anything for me. We won't return. Google reviews must have been completed by people without tastebuds!

Took my granddaughter out for a seafood lunch and we loved it all! The kabobs of mahi, scallops and shrimp were delicious, she loved her fish and shrimp combo. Great Service, great atmosphere.

The best deep fried fish in Englewood

Undoubtedly one of the biggest hamburgers I've ever seen in my life. Actually big enough to share for two people. And it was really good. The room is a little crowded and noisy but worth it for the good food.

Most seafood places in tourist areas are just average or expensive or both. Cafe 776 is a no nonsense small place that serves up the best seafood at the best prices in Englewood. My wife and I waited for about 20 minutes to be seated and at busy times you might have to wait more. But it's worth it. The food is basic, the fish fried, grilled, or blackened, served with two sides. We both ordered the blackened grouper, queen size, ie two portions. Perfectly cooked and spiced just right. Our server Donna was friendly and enthusiastic, and the food delivered on time. I wish they had dessert, but they have a small kitchen and like to turn the tables to keep people from waiting too long. After seeing what others around us ordered I'd like to go back for the huge burgers or their coconut shrimp. Highly recommend Cafe 776.

Not so good the staff were mean

Four of us split two orders of 3 piece delicious fish & chips with coleslaw. Great price and exceptional service. Yes, a little wait for a table but 100% worth it!

The food here is pretty good, I’d go back for that. Service on the other hand…. Let’s just say they don’t really have it together. Fairly priced. I tried to eat outside, but they wouldn’t let me. I actually had to get it to go lol.

I Had an issue with my meal, and when I brought it up to my waitress, Donna M, she decided to get feedback from other customers around me who ordered the same meal. I could not believe a server could be so harsh because my meal tasted off, and I was looking for an alternative. She stated she served five others the same meal and had no complaints. When I asked for another meal she said that specific meal was frozen in the kitchen. Nothing in her service reflected her title.

Forgot our order. Everyone came in after us got their food. We wanted to like the place. The food was not very good. We won't go back. We usually like little out of the way places.

The food was really good but unfortunately the waitress was having issues and reflected them onto us. Despite this I still enjoyed my lunch and made the best of it.

As always great food from one of the last of the old Englewood small time restaurants, someday all these will be gone which is sad. A couple comments, I ordered takeout for my wife and I at peak time on Saturday night which is not a great idea! I ordered fish kabobs with baked potato and Cole slaw, this is my 776 heart healthy go to or at least a little heart healthy. Perfect except the website said on Saturday you could get a half cup of soup which I got with a little confusion when ordering and ended up charged with cup of chowder, no big deal as it was delicious. My wife order a grilled grouper sandwich with fries and slaw. Giant grouper sandwich, perfect, nice Cole slaw but assume fries got over looked while packing take out bag, kids of a bummer. All in all great food just a couple small issues. Maybe just check your bag before leaving. We will be back as steady customers.

We just wanted a burger and some fish and chips. We were more than happy with everything. It felt like a local getaway from the busy parts of town. Friendly service, great food and fun classic atmosphere.

This place suffered a bit in the past but is back to what it once was. True hole-in-the-wall with great food. Fresh and tasty. Only one waitress on a busy day but she still found time to be attentive. Efficient and friendly. Never lost her friendly demeaner despite going nonstop. Not a long wait for service and food. Limited seating so be patient or go off hours. They have a sitting area outside with a bar to wait for an open table. So glad this local favorite is up and running.

Greatest value for the area. The Hamburgers are huge and so is the chicken sandwich. Coconut shrimp are also large and great tasting! Highly recommend!

Came here for a immobilization job with my friend ended up stopping by glad I did. Best shrimp I've had since I've been in Florida (2 years) definitely will be back one day I stay in Orlando!

Prices are higher than a lot of places.

Great food. However, I paid for the order with card and tipped with cash. The waitress decided to go ahead and add an additional tip with my card. I tipped your waitress $13 on a $65 dollar tab and she decided to add an another $8 after I left the restaurant. Apparently 20% was not enough. This is fraud. I suggest everyone to check your CC statements after visiting this establishment.

A small restaurant with REALLY good fish. I loved the red grouper. The cole slaw is also pretty good. --- 2nd review, 6 months later. Pure coincidence I ordered the exact same meal. Still just as good!

Loved it great massive burgers. It's a small joint so you will have to wait at the outside bar most likely but well worth it. Can't wait to come back.

Was looking forward to going once it was opened. Never treated so rude at a restaurant in my life. I usually do 3 strikes and you are out. Not here, one huge strike and done. Never even got inside.

Was so looking forward to their Fried Oyster Sandwich but was extremely disappointed. The French fries were so overcooked that they were hard and hollow inside. The oysters were very fishy tasting. We usually dine-in and I love the Grouper Sandwich but am afraid to go back now. I will not recommend this place anymore.

This is the second time we have been there. It is small inside so you often have to wait for a table. But they have a big Tikki Hut area with a bar so you can get a drink and sit and wait. Generally it is only around 15 minutes. They have a variety of fish dishes. I got the fried cod and scallops. The scallops were very big and done perfectly. I took off the breading (only to save on calories) and they were still amazing. The Cole slaw and the salads were also good. My husband got the broiled seafood skewers which were very good. He ordered onion rings which were amazing. This place is a local favorite because they are consistent in quality and reasonably priced. It's not fancy, but the food is worth the effort.

Worst place we've ever eaten. We were there for lunch, the food is obviously store bought and frozen. They're charging way too much for the garbage they're serving. The service was lousy and negligent. Will never return and will not recommend to anyone we know.
