We arrived here on Sunday during Labor Day weekend at 9:50 PM. The shop closes at 10 PM. The line was all the way through the store, and it took us almost 40 minutes to get to the front line to get ice cream. Even though the store closes at 10, both employees continued to serve every single person that was in line. I know the employees were tired and wanted to go home, but I was very impressed that they stayed to make sure everyone got what they needed!

Always a wonderful treat and place to be. Every year we are it’s a must stop for an after dinner treat! There is something for everyone.

Update: The owner called us and apologized saying this is not their policy at all they are to serve all products till closing and that she was sorry for the employees telling us that. We revisited a week later and Lilly, I believe her name is, has been working here a while and she also apologized for the service and she said it was her day off and that would have never happened if she was working. The owner said she’s going to be talking with staff to make sure this does not happen again. Overall this place is great for old school styles of candy and great ice cream. Just need to make sure the people running the place is doing so in a manner they are supposed to. We have been coming here for years. They close at 10 we get in line inside at 9:40. Wait in line till 10:16 and was told while we were at the counter next to be served that they are not doing anymore shakes and we were the last people to be served. Never mentioned this to anyone during the 30 minute wait in line until the last people step up to be served. We have spent I would assume thousands here with a family of 14-16 coming 9-10 times per 2 week vacation trip. I won’t be spending another dollar in here. This place was so much better customer service when Brad owned it. They actually cared about their customers that keep their doors open and business running.

Solid place to take the family for a treat. Parking can be iffy but can park across the street in a pinch

We do not understand the hype of this place. Ice cream was freezer burnt, and there was no room to move inside because it was so crowded. I would have been happier with a Breyers from Publix. There also is not much parking here and no room for someone with a wheelchair if it’s crowded.

If you visit the beach, you have to visit Candy Kitchen! Nostalgic and fun for the children. You can find literally any candy you can think of. The ice cream is perfect for after a day on the beach. I've been coming here since I was a little kid, and now I get to carry on the tradition. Love love love Candy kitchen!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The ice cream was delicious and abundant! A “single” is four scoops! Very cool shop as well. Only downside is there is not much place to eat the ice cream out of the sun.

The fudge...omg!!! Not overly sweet and absolutely delicious. I wish you shipped but we will be back. The toffee is to die for too and the nostalgic candy is a piece of your childhood. Love this place.

I live in Palm Harbor, but I'm vacationing out here for the week and had to check this place out. I wasn't disappointed. The staff looked young which can be a hit or a miss, but it was defiantly a hit. They were super helpful, nice, and made you want to come back. The place is a blast from the past candy wise and the ice cream is custom and very very good for a decent price. If you love ice cream, candy, or just want a blast from the past then check this place out. Trust me you'll be a repeat customer like I plan to be.

This is my favorite place to get ice cream! I moved to Texas. (No Candy Kitchen here!) As soon as I was back in town I went there! The mocha chip is my favorite, but I tried the peanut butter vanilla! So good !!! Now I have 2 favorites!!!!!!!!! Next time I'll take pictures!!

This is my grandkids go to everytime they visit. They love a huge variety of candies and the ice cream. Must visit if you're on the beach! A little sad they've done away with most all of the candies from my Era and some from even before then. It was one of the reasons we loved going there for the candies we grew up snacking on.

This is a must visit when in Redington! The ice cream is AMAZING and super creamy. The candy selection is nostalgic fun to the max and they also have some fun throwback toys. The owners are super kind and caring. This will be our regular post-beach stop every time we are in the area.

Gotta have the hot fudge sundae, with nuts! Homemade ice cream is delicious. Staff person was super helpful. Went in looking for saltwater taffy to bring home as gifts. They carry a couple from different companies. He explained the difference and gave us samples. We didn’t buy any but the old fashioned candy and retro glass pop bottles sure brought back some memories! A fun little stop when you’re out and about.

Homemade walnut fudge is great. You will love it. Will go back for an ice cream treat later in vacation. Go there-- your kids will live the shopping experience. Very nice employees. They don't rush you to make a candy decision!

Over priced candy, poor treatment of their employees who then mistreat the customers, unsanitary conditions. Yes, you will find candy here that you don’t normally see, yes it can be a fun experience for your kids after dinner, but is waiting 20 minutes in a cramped store stuffed with 30 people when its really meant for 10 JUST to check out? That’s not even counting in ordering ice cream (which is either rock hard or soup, no in between). Employees don’t seem like they wanna be there so why are they? Overall just an overrated waste of time and money.
