This place is always amazing! I come here a lot!

This was one of the best burger meals I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely be back. I got the “bacon cheddar burger” with American cheese instead of sharp cheddar with extra bacon. Their menu is à la cart so I got a side order of loaded fries. The one that I got was called “ol dirt road”, but they also have a full portion of fries.

The burger is above average at best. I'm not sure why it is hyped up so much, especially for the price. It is also very small and loud inside. The one thing I might come back for is the Duval Dog though.

I saw the reviews and decided to stop on my way up north. It was completely worth it! This place was amazing and I'd have more pics but I couldn't stop eating it once I started lol. I had the hurricane with Cajun fries.

Food was decent. Staff was nice. It's very small and gets very crowded. Not alot of tables to sit. Parking close fills up very quickly. Got a plain cheeseburger, nothing real special about it. Wife got a hurricane dog. Thought it was decent. Only issue cooks are not paying attention to tickets as what should be on the hotdogs or hamburgers.

I love this place! The burgers are killer, especially the 'Riverside' great vibe, hard-working staff, and screaming kids. It's all a blast!

Wow!!!! I finally got to the most amazing burger joint ever! They were truly spectacular and I am from North Carolina and their food took me home! The Carolina Burger was fixed to perfection and the onion rings with Texas petal sauce rocked! Thank you so much for making my day and I will be back soon!

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Loved the sweet tea as well. The miss for me were the fries; they weren’t hot. Also, French’s ketchup is basically water.

I understand that it was late but be professional, my thanes becareful of this establishment they are spiteful to big orders, I have a large family of 7, 3 are elderly, I ordered well before closing, had my order repeated to me several times, and they still served us cold food, 3 of the orders were incorrect, and 2 didn't even get made, and what was correct were cold and sloppy made, went back to complain and they had closed early surprise surprise, all and all this used to be my families favorite burger joint, now it will become a distant memory, on to the next one, till next our journeys meet, happy eating.

Amazing burgers and fries. Had the East Coast burger and it was great. Had a "side" of Bacon Cheese Please fries and wow! They were great and there was so much that I couldn't finish them! Then when we were nearly done a guy came in and did their challenge! He had 20 minutes to eat 7 pounds of food! He gave it a great shot! The whole restaurant was rooting and cheering for him. He almost made it but it was great seeing him do the challenge!

The staff was incredibly kind and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The food was phenomenal. I got the Charleston burger, Jax Style fries, and a cinnatoast crunch milkshake. Large portions and excellent flavor. I’d definitely come again!

The sweet potato fries are absolutely delicious, but if you're watching your calories, you might want to skip the cinnamon sauce. Arriving before noon guarantees quick service and a good spot to sit.

Our go to place when we want a really good burger. The salad option is also a great portion if you're not wanting a burger. My husband loves the shakes. The mountain fries are a must! But the portion is huge, so plan to share it.

Family was just looking around to eat and we found Carolina Jax. Came and it was busy but the service was fast and great. The food was excellent. It was seasoned well and fresh. Definitely would be coming back.

Came down to Jacksonville for a week and trying out Carolina Jax the first time as I heard great thing about them and they sure did not disappoint. They have many burger and loaded fries preset styles to choose from. If you are in Jacksonville and is fan of great burgers you have to go check them out!

Best burger in Jax. Problem is the hours! 99.9% of the time I want to get Carolina Jax they are closed. I never get home from work until 8pm and they are always closed. I can’t think of another burger place that closes at 8pm.

Omg Riverside burger was the best I’ve ever had, really tasty, quick service, great location in Riverside.

I just ordered a Uber eats order from here and my order was completely wrong. I am so upset. I ordered Bacon Cheese Fries but I got a bacon cheese burger ?? How does that work. I also got an order with a burger and paid extra for mountain fries. But got regular fries instead. My food was very cold. And it took over 1 hour to get here. My Uber driver was sitting at the restaurant for over 30 minutes and didn’t get the order until close to 9. Knowing that they close At 9 I ordered around 7:40 something. But didn’t get my order till after 9. Overall I am highly upset. And this is not my first time my order has been messed up from this restaurant. Very bad and I will be calling in the morning making a complaint with the manager on duty.

The Riverside burger is sooooo delicious! Definitely one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.

Edit**I also have a large following on TikTok, which is why I’m honest with my reviews. I give praise where praise is earned. I also give negative reviews, where they are earned. Today, we paid $60 for 3 raw burgers, served on rolls that were obviously either left uncovered way too long, or next to a heat source causing them to be like rocks. Should I have done a song and dance to get someone’s attention at the counter??? You were slow. 2 managers on duty??? One should have been on the floor chatting it up with guests to see how they were doing. Making sure customers are happy I would think would be important to a small family owned business. Seem butt-hurt. The 2 men that sat beside us, also agreed it was poor at best and stated they wouldn’t be back either. A simple sorry, we will try better next time would have come across more sincere. ✌️ Edit**The restaurants reply says it all!! Disappointed to say the least. Had lunch today, 30th and it was awful. Bun was like a rock. Hamburger was rare and bottoms of our buns were blood soaked. So much mac sauce that the toppings were just saturated. Fries had the wrong seasoning. Walked up to counter and woman was busy on the phone. Gave up after standing and being ignored. Won’t be back.

They have the best smash burgers. Only place we go if we’re wanting burgers. Theres a nice chat every time. Delicious!

If I’m craving a burger, I know I want the good stuff. Carolina Jax is the great stuff! After coming here for years, the quality never changes. It’s delicious every time. I’ve tried a few of their specialty burgers which are very tasty, and this past order I kept it simple, and added a milkshake to try! The classic burger with cheese and the all American hotdog - you can’t go wrong with either. I like to order both when I come here knowing I won’t be able to finish it all. The quality is too good to skimp and order just a burger Or a hotdog. The chocolate Oreo milkshake though; wow! If you are one to think chick fil a’s milkshakes are good, wait til you try Carolina Jax’s milkshake. It’s a treat. Definitely an upgrade! They have a good portion of various flavors to select from. Being that this was my first milkshake from Carolina Jax, I went with a classic I knew I would like. There were about 3-4 other flavors that stood out to me that I’ll venture out of my comfort bubble and try another time

One of my very favorite hamburger places....but made the mistake or ordering BBQ sandwich. 2/3 of the meat was fat and grizzly. The sauce was a bare smear of color. My disappointment may very well keep me from returning to this popular spot.

First timer to Carolina Jax and I am a picky person when it comes to meat. The burger I had which was the onion burger lettuce wrapped was excellent. I loved it! Great cute place and atmosphere! Definitely recommend!

They ain't called the best for know reason. I'd suggest the specialty burger. I got a classic to keep it basic, but my husband got the award winning burger “riverside”. I said about three “ums” before I caught myself lol. Great prices. Great atmosphere. Really nice people. Fast. Kid friendly!! I should’ve taken pictures lol. We’ll be backkk.

The Hurricane burger was amazing! Taste was fantastic and overall very filling. Had just the right amount of heat with the Jalapeños. The addition of white cheddar mac & chees was a perfect pairing on the burger. The basket of fries was also very good and well seasoned. Also, recommend the Cinnamon Toast crunch shake!

Very chaotic. First visit here. I wasn't sure where the line starts to order or how to pick up the food. It wasn't an enjoyable atmosphere And would have been better off ordering for to go. Took 30 minutes for 2 burgers. They were good, but between the lack of seating and the overall staffs attitude I wouldn't rush back. #update: With the below changes I would be willing to try it again. Thanks for the response as that already earned a star improvement.

That was a one-and-done for me! It was my first and last time there. I don't see the attraction. $12 for a burger the size of McDonald's! I was going to have half for lunch and half for dinner, thinking they were the size of Applebee's. And so much mayo, it drowned the burger taste. What the Hell-man's?! I had interaction with three employees and they were all rude. I could not specify no condiments. I got the Black Mountain burger and I'm pretty sure those were canned mushrooms and there was no more than a 2 inch slice of onion.The meat was good Angus but the description was erroneous, the worker's attitudes were terrible and the sandwich was overpriced.

I’d heard this place has the best burgers in town, and it’s been on my radar ever since. Today, we were next to the restaurant and I had not yet eaten and was hungry, so this was a perfect opportunity to try it out. The food was really good — I had the fried onion burger and onion rings to go. But, I guess they forgot me because I had numerous people who arrived after me get served, and a lady sitting next to where I stood waiting said, “boy, you’ve been waiting a long time.” I should’ve checked sooner than I did because I do think they had overlooked my order. I waited probably 40-45 minutes, which is really too long. I really thought my order would include a free burger coupon or something. It was $18 with a 10% tip and no drink, and that’s a lot in my opinion. The food was very good— I ate it all— but the price and the wait weren’t great. If we’d been given a “free burger” coupon, we’d go back I’m sure. But I don’t imagine we’ll go back as it’s just a little too rich for our budget. But it is good !

Couldn’t take pics, food was too delicious to let sit. Finally a great burger joint living up to the hype in Jacksonville! Sweet potato fries have an unexpected yet yummy twist: cinnamon butter. Had the Riverside burger and it’s a must-try. Wish more burger places offer goat cheese. Milkshakes are very good too. Definitely will be back and highly recommend.

I ordered take out Burger Fries. This venue item is just what it is called. French fries with everything you This restaurant is a fabulous place near my home hidden on Oak St. In have on your hamburger crumbled on top, including bacon and cheese. So delicious I'm first surprised it's legal. I tried it while visiting a patient in St. Vincent hospital, and have craved it since. There's a wonderful list of delightful choices on the menu. Just GO!

I always order from here and everyone I’ve introduced to this place has loved it. They package things neatly and never miss any order notes. Fries are ALWAYS fresh, burgers are so generous with ingredients and servings. Best burgers in Jax. Lately I’ve been loving the hot dogs here too! Edit: I’m changing my review because I ordered the sweet potato fries today and they were atrocious. They are drenched in a sauce that’s mostly granulated sugar and tastes more like a pie topping than a sauce for a savory dish. I’ve ordered these fries before and never had them covered in this syrup before. Absolutely ruined it.

One of those "hole-in-the-wall" places that you already hear everyone speak so highly of. Very tasty and has unique additions that I find tremendous. Has the best local burgers that I have found so far in the city.

Only had pick up, it’s been very tasty, but the fries portion changes every time we go. Sometimes a basket is enough for two people, sometimes it’s not. That’s my only area of dissatisfaction

If I could only eat one burger for the rest of my life, it would be this burger. It is perfection. Their fries are cooked perfectly as well, as are the sweet potato fries (a laudable feat! So many places can’t do both). Next time, we’ll try the milkshakes. This place is 100% worth the drive. What a great place for JAX!

I've been going to this restaurant since they were called Cackalackeys and food truck. The service has taken a dump. Called to place a pickup order. Man picks up and says, "hold please".. held the line for 8 minutes and he never returned. Called back and he did the same thing. Waited an additional 5 mins, hung up and called back and the phone was off!! Horrible customer service before I could even place an order! Know if you order pickup on Uber Eats you will pay an upcharge of $2 per item as well. For PICKUP ORDERS! And the owner had the nerve to reply to this explaining they only have two lines and if I called during peak hours that is justification for not answering phones. 🤦‍♀️ I've worked in food and customer service my whole life and that's a sorry excuse.

We're in Jacksonville, Florida for vacation, and after a fun time racing go-karts, our family of five was craving burgers. A quick search led us to Carolina Jax, which seemed like the best spot. We went on a busy Friday evening during dinner rush, so the wait for our five burgers and sides was about an hour. The smash burgers were amazing—definitely in my top three. My fiancé got the Hurricane burger wrapped in lettuce and loved it. I had the OBX burger on a bun, and it was excellent. Our three kids each had different versions of the classic burger and enjoyed theirs too. The milkshakes were even better than the burgers. Overall, the food was worth the wait. We would visit again and highly recommend it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Burgers were amazing! Smashburger style and cooked just right. Loaded Montana fries were pretty good. Pulled pork, bacon, Carolina sauce. Not a lot of parking so try and get there on odd hours. A Lot of burger choices unique to them. Highly recommend them and I will be back.

Great burger joint with a really cool vibe! I’ve been hearing about it for a while and finally got to try it. Burgers took a little bit to get It as they cooked me to order however, very juicy, slightly messy, and delicious . Would highly recommend and will go back again.

Hands down, the best burgers you'll ever have the luxury of tasting. I walked in on a busy Saturday afternoon. There was a massive line of customers and yet the chefs, as well as the girls working the register took it all like a champ. I'm impressed with the quality and flavor of these burgers. I had the Bacon and cheese burger. It was a 10/10!! I highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area 😍🍔

The BEST tasting burgers I've ever had! The OBX burger was absolutely fantastic. I also had the Jax style loaded fries with the hurricane burger as well and it was an awesome burger, the jalapenos weren't too spicy and were grilled perfectly, fantastic Cajun sauce on the burger. My husband also had the black mountain burger and it was the best Swiss and mushroom burger I've had in my life 😋

Very good food. Had the pork sandwich special. A little surprised that it didn't include french fries it was a sandwich on a very large tray overall it was very good but maybe if you could include french fries within the special or maybe a drink. Overall the hamburgers were outstanding

Not bad but not overwhelming either. Admittedly, considering the hype, I guess I expected stellar and got right good. Side portions are excellent. The Cinna butter on the sweet potato fries is a nice touch. Would be nice to allow burgers cooked to order. I'm a medium not well done kind of guy

The food was good-just good.. not worth the $65 including the tip we paid for 3 burgers, a hot dog, fries and 2 drinks. My husband asked for just barbecue sauce on his and it came dressed all the way without any barbecue sauce. I added jalapenos onto mine and it came with none. Ordered one child a hamburger (no cheese), ketchup and pickles- it came with cheese. My other child ordered a plain hotdog with ketchup- they gave him a jalapeno flavored hot dog. The only reason I didn't ask for a remake or refund was because it took about 45 minutes for us to get our food and the line to the front was almost out the door. We were also trying to get back home 2.5 hours away. The area is really cramped and it's very loud inside. Like I said the food was good but all of our orders were not correct and imo not worth what we paid. Probably won't be back.

Food is great. Parking is always a challenge in Riverside, and the seating is limited inside. Be prepared to share a table, eat outside, or even take it to go and eat elsewhere. Or go outside busy lunch and dinner times. The food is worth it. Basket of fries is big enough for three people. I'm sure the specialty burgers are great, but I prefer just a bacon cheeseburger, so I go for that every time.

Very displeased with the service that was provided via Uber eats. The restaurant made the order incorrectly and didn't send a portion of the order. Two items were in a stapled bag that had not been tampered with. I called and asked that the missing items be replaced and that the burgers be remade. I was told that even though I could return the uneaten burgers they would not be replaced because it was an Uber eats delivery.

The burger was amazing. It was cooked to perfection, juicy, not greasy. Absolutely marvelous!

The food is delicious! Seriously, great burgers! A couple of things to know going in: you order at the counter and then grab your food from the window when they call your name, no gluten-free bun option, and the place is small (which means crowded). And there will probably be a wait. 15 minutes in line to order and another 30 minutes before you get your food. But the food was worth it!

Mountain man and garlic parm fries were great. The basket of fries was more than two of us could eat with our burgers.
