Haven't been in years. Why??? I don't know. Scrumptious and the most attentive care. Your drink will definitely NOT go empty. I grew up going to the cattle sale with my Grandpa and Daddy. Oh, the precious memories! Beans taste like Granny cooked em. The country atmosphere is a bonus.

Just be warned when you order a "cheese dog" from their menu, make sure you clarify it to have an actual hot dog with it. My wife ordered one and all she got was a hot dog bun with cheese and chili, that's it. Very confusing.

The food was pretty good! We ordered steak, it was bland but good. As someone who doesn't like a lot of hot spices I'll take bland over yuck any day. The service was good and above what they had to do. I was concerned about how they cooked their steaks and the cook came to speak with me. Definitely recommend the food! The atmosphere is rated low because I couldn't get past the smell. I'm not sure what it was but as soon as you get out of the vehicle and into the restaurant the entire place has a really tough smell. As well as The customers. They almost all had little children they allow to scream in the restaurant made the experience highly unpleasant. I recommend the food to go. You really cannot beat the food you get for the price and flavor.

Ate here 03/26/2024 had the pork chop special. Pork chops were so good I almost thought they were ribeye steaks. Very good food and service.

My boyfriend and I come every Friday for burgers and we love coming here. The service is incredible (SarahKate makes my day every time- best waitress around!), and the food is always amazing. Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant

To expensive for burnt fries and a mediocre cheeseburger $13.90 drink was not even included. I'm sorry but not worth it. The people are nice and that was about it. So sad 😞

One of our favorite places to eat was a total disappointment on this visit. In the 30+ years we have eaten here, this was the first time I did not finish my food and did not want a take home box. The wait time after ordering was long and the food was no where near what I have come to expect. I just found out the restaurant has changed hands. It was obvious.

This place is legend around here, so I was excited to try it. Went on a Friday evening and it was crowded. Two small dining rooms flank the kitchen and order counter. It is open to the corridor that leads to the auction arena. There are tables in the corridor too for overflow seating. As you might imagine, cattle dung is tracked into the hallway and subsequently, the restaurant too, so the smell of freshly cooked hamburgers mingles with the smell of freshly dropped manure. Not my idea of appetizing. I think the restaurant gets its popularity from its convenient location. The food itself is pretty simple, but tasty enough. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Prices were good. I wouldn't go back just for the steak sandwich. I've had better elsewhere without the added "perfume". Fun to say i tried it once though.

What a fantastic find! Must have the pork sandwich and hamburger steak. Banana pudding a must not miss as well. Awesome staff and very personable.

You have haven't experienced Chatham County if you haven't been to the stockyard for dinner. Friendly staff. Great pork chops. Messiest burger you can have (double cheese!) With a hint of cattle auction in the background....

A unique place, more than a restaurant with very good beef items. Don't know if they use the cows and pigs in the fields around the building. A simple menu with different sides and desserts daily. Breakfast also served and lines on the weekends. Hours change also for closing time, always open for breakfast. Have cowboy church on Tuesday evenings.

Awesome cheese burger and dining experience, love that place, only real cowboys go there, so be a real cowboy and get there you tenderfoot

I drive 2.5 hours round trip from Garner for their stockyard cheeseburger and sweet potato fries, worth it every time! If you can handle a 1lb cheeseburger I highly recommend getting a double stockyard over the single! Their desserts are good too.

It has been years since I've been here (I had moved out of the area). My friend had never been and since everyone raves about their steak we wanted to visit. They're only open 3 days a week and this is a popular place. We got there at a good time as they weren't busy but as the supper hour got closer the place filled up quickly. However, we were both disappointed in our food. In all fairness we need to give this place another chance but my friend's steak was tough, which apparently is a rarity. My hamburger steak was good but the grilled onions were chopped instead of sliced and had barely touched the grill. The rest of the food was good and the service was good...but by the time we were ready to leave it was so loud in there you could hardly hear yourself talk. Despite the drawbacks mentioned, we are willing to give it another try.

Great food. Only thing is they don't always have ribeyes. Why offer something but don't have it when order it.

Amazing beef! Hamburgers taste fresh and juicy! Steaks are cooked perfectly! The deserts are rich and superb! If you haven't experienced this place, you need to make the effort to go!

The friendly staff here really keep things moving seamlessly even when they're packed. Everything on the menu is delicious and reasonably priced. The desserts are outstanding as well... especially the banana pudding and cobblers. The restaurant is always very clean and comfortable. The only down side of the restaurant is that they're only open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Definitely give them a try if you're in the area.

I agree with everyone else. Was looking for something other than the usual fast food. Cheeseburger and fries were awesome. Kind of meal where you go through all of your napkins before you finish eating. Got it to go and ate in the truck in the parking lot with my dog and listened to the nearby sheep and just relaxed.

Hard to bet the Cheeseburger Steak and some great desserts!
