Just a lovely meal. Probably the best cassava I've ever had. Everything was well seasoned but not overpowering. My super picky eater liked the chicken and went to town on the black beans and rice. I've been craving good cuban food the entire week I've been in town, and Carolina's did not disappoint.

Authentic Cuban cuisine and hospitality!

I was excited about trying Cuban Cuisine as I saw the clear and big sign from highway 19. As I was parking I could see that the plaza is a bit rundown but clean. I walked into the restaurant and was not greeted but told to sit anywhere. My companion and I took a seat in a booth. This booth’s table was not in great condition. I could only take one picture since I was being observed. The booth’s cushions on back of our heads were dirty. It had food on them. The server was a bit rude. He concentrated all his attention on my guest. We ordered mango shakes that tasted all right. I ordered the “medianoche.” The bread was the best part of this sandwich. My guest ordered yellow rice and chicken rinds. What was brought out was bland roasted chicken and bland rice. The atmosphere was one of emptiness. I have never been in space before but I think it would feel like being at this restaurant. I wanted to like this restaurant and maybe if you go you might have a different experience. I had a disappointing experience and gave it two stars for the “medianoche” bread. The bread taste was spot on and authentic.

I had rice and black beans and Ropa Vieja. My partner had Cuban sandwich. Food was ok, I can't brag about it, but if your in the mood for Cuban food then it's good place.

Good local Cuban food to the area. Atmosphere is fairly utilitarian. But food is great for to go or a quick lunch.

This little spot caught our eye so we figured we would give it a shot. It blew us away!! It's clean and super cute. Everything was so fresh and tasted AMAZING. We had a chicken empanada and beef. They were full and delicious. Not at all greasy. The presentation was soo good for our meals and I was so excited that we just dived right in. The Picadillo, The Ropa Vieja, the plantains.....it was all spot on. We took a Cuban to go and a cheesecake with guava but will definitely be back soon to try more entrees. Highly Recommend 🍛🇨🇺

The Cuban sandwich was well below par. It was very dry with very little meat, therefore, it was over priced.

Excellent food made fresh but slow serving can't go in for lunch and have to be back at a certain time because it takes forever to get your food but it's worth it for the taste

My mom is 86 and is tye pickiest eater ever and she downed the entire steak plate she got!! We are spanish and highly recommend this place. Food was delicious!

Excellent service excellent food I was pleasantly surprised at how good everything came out. I eat out a lot and don't leave reviews unless I'm genuinely impressed. And the Cuban coffee needed a boost today and definitely got it! Just need some music for the restaurant! And perfect! I will probably be coming back for dinner with my wife!

Used to visit the other Location and finally found it again! Everything is so good. Had Cuban Sandwich, Empanadas, Stuffed Tostones, Sampler, and the Crispy Chicken Thighs. Wait Staff is very thorough and makes sure orders come out perfectly. A great meal and had enough leftovers for a 2nd meal which also reheated very nicely in an Air fryer.

Great food, wonderful family service. Authentic flavors, lots of amazing choices. The beef empanadas are amazing, as well as the croquetas. Highly recommend, glad I live close by.

Cute place. Last time we ate here, the service was extremely slow. Although the food was flavorful, it is far from the true Cuban/Spanish cuisine we were looking for. The Cuban sandwiches are quite possibly the worst my family has ever had. I was born and raised in Tampa. My family is Spanish. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Stopped in after the gym and fell in love. Best Cuban I’ve ever had and the coffee was lovely! Service was top tier, they went above and beyond. Laura was our server and made the experience even more memorable. Thank you guys! We will be back!

Well it looks like I've got myself a new restaurant menu to explore. What a great place. I knew it was a good sign to this place's reputation as I realized many people were arriving right at the minute they opened (myself included). Really fresh, really friendly, and incredible prices. I couldn't believe I managed to get stuffed on $10 like I did here, and on such quality and authentic recipes. I got the frita cubana especial and a roasted pork empanada (which I intended to take pictures of for this review but forgot to; guess I'll just have to go again!). Second and third time I got Media Noche (pic related). Don't sleep on this place, we are blessed to have terrific Cuban food in town.

I had the chicken salteado and it was DELICIOUS! The rice and beans were really good and the Tostones con mojo was excellent The flan was great and made in their kitchen. Not the best location but roomy, clean. And a very pleasant surprise. No wait either and the prices Were ridiculously cheap. I've gotten the dish many more times. THE CHICKEN IS ALMOST ALWAYS OVERCOOKED (a little dry and tough) but still very good. I still highly recommend. Their PORK is excellent and probably their most popular dish.

The location is so clean. Great atmosphere. We ordered take out. We were not disappointed. The food was authentic. The food was hot and fresh when we arrived back at our hotel. I had the Ropa Vieja with yellow rice and sweeetttt plaintains. My wife had their white bean soup with the sweet plaintains. We will definitely be stopping by when we are back in the area.

This restaurant has the most amazing food. If you're looking for an authentic Cuban Sandwich, look no further. In fact, everything I have tried has been delicious with generous portions and very reasonable prices. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been to Carolinas several times. And the food never disappoints. The potato balls are always crispy and deliciously savory in the center. The empanadas are excellent from the pork, beef, to chicken. The pescado was perfection delightfully crispy and flaky. The pulled pork is packed with juicy flavors and ridiculously tender. I would say take my word for it, but you should experience it for yourself!

This was my first time ordering out and I’m going back tomorrow. The food is excellent and served very hot. Love the atmosphere.

Uncooked chicken and not good at getting back with the customer.

This place literally stole my money. 2/20/24 I order two meals chicken at around 6:30 picked it up, brought home cut it up,…first bite was into raw uncooked slimy chicken. Literally not kidding you. I called immediately to have it fixed because mistakes happen. No one answered the phone several times, so i drove up there. It’s now 7:30 they close at 8. Surprise they closed early people were inside looking at us from the kitchen but refused to come to the door. The employees were snickering, and laughing at me in the car as we knocked on the door. I cannot believe the service we got, the horrible way the staff of this hole in the wall acted. Deplorable!!!! I’ll never be back. look at other reviews complaining about rubbery uncooked chicken, stay away from this place.

If I could give no stars I would! Food was raw the service was terrible! Fake Cuban food and over priced especially for not being able to eat it!

I want to say that this was the best Cuban sandwich I have had in a long time. It is getting so hard to find a decent Cuban sandwich that I had started making them at home. But it's just not the same... now I never have to worry about finding my favorite sandwich anymore!

I hadn’t been to this restaurant in about 4 months. The food and portions were great. Not so much on my recent visit. I ordered a Cuban sandwhich the pork meat was bland and so shredded it was nasty. I ordered French fries. This was an additional ordered which they charge $2.99. They were salty, didn’t taste fresh and I only got maybe 13 or 14 fries. My husband got grilled cheese corn breast steak with yellow rice and red beans. The chicken was not seasoned and rubbery the rice portion was small and the beans watery. Also no Cuban bread which normally is complementary with a dinner meal. Bill was $33. Beware!!!

I am Cuban and find hard to find great Cuban food. This restaurant is a 10 and the food is outstanding and delicious !!!!

If you are looking for a good Cuban sandwich, this is the place. What would make it a great Cuban is if the pork was sliced instead of shredded. The taste is great, but sliced would make it almost perfect. I will be back to get my Cubans from here.

Wonderful menu at Catalina’s Cuban Cafe. I tried the tilapia with garlic butter and white wine, yellow rice and a side salad. The husband had the braised beef with onion, yellow rice and Cuban black beans. Both dishes were amazing. My only critic is that I couldn’t finish everything as the portions were quite generous. We both had the Cuban espresso … wow, creamy and with just the right undertone of velvety chocolate texture. Can’t wait to go back.

On 9/2/2023 around 3pm i ordered at Carolinas Cuban rest. the white rice, red beans, plantains but i ask her what they had for protein???? so i decided on the chicken fricase..by the time i got home and checked the food that i ordered,,,what i got was,,,, yellow rice, black beans and the 2 chicken thighs with no juice bc it was in foam containers it spilled all over the bag..so, i went back the following day with the food they gave me, the waitress ask me,, so what are we going to do?? i said just give the right order give me what i ordered,, i said i usually order ropa vieja, which its tasteless,,white rice and red beans w/ plantains ..so she ask me what are we going to do??? i said give me what i ordered ,,,shes started rambeling then she goes and complains out loud in front of the clients telling the cooks that she cant remember what everybody likes and once again,, i ask her to please chk in the POS system for the order,but she didnt,,,she did remember that i wanted rice and beans, i said yes,,, she kept telling me,,that i didnt specify yellow or white,, i said you didnt ask me what kind of rice i wanted???? you said rice and bean????? i said,,, yes, well i assume is white rice...she went and complain to the cooks from across the kitchen the cooks loudly are telling her,,, that is the last time she does this,, because i brought the food the following day,,,,i told her i live far but i bought back the order, the waitress with out asking me throws the food in the trash,, so i got up and i said..this is the first time,, i got up i said thank you i dont want your food and i left..the kitchen should NOT put the food in to go foam containers by the time i got home all the juice of the chicken spilled all over the bag...Good luck and God bless...last time i visit you this location. i dont appreciate the hostility for food...i rather not have the food also no need to be loud nor rude neitherless in front of clients... solo fui a que me dieran lo que ordene, el arroz blanco, hab rosadas, platanos maduros y pollo en fricase....desafurtunadamente despues de el argumento se me quitaron los deseos de comer la cosinera la señora major, es una arrogante.....debio darme la orden correcta y si queria discutir o hablar sobre mi persona debio haber esperado que yo me hubiese ido,, que falta de respeto y de etica de parte de la mesera y la cocinera el estar discutiendo sobre cliente por la comida,,,, no necesito un dolor de estomago y por esa razon no quise nada y me fui.. I found my favorite cuban restaurant 💜 recently moved to the area and a neighbor told me about this place because i love picadillo and they did not disappoint! The flavor is bold and authentic, the portion is large and the service was so kind and helpful. The place is easy to access right on us 19 and the dining room is bright, clean and cheery! Thank you! I love Cuban sandwiches, I picked 1 up on a Tuesday, with maybe 6 people in the place. Sometimes, the staff will slack off when it's slow, but not here. 1 of the best Cubans I've had. Courteous services even when I "skipped" the automated tip (I like to tip cash and had to run out to the truck after the meal to get it.) The server was sweet, and never blinked an eye at my not tipping. Ended up giving her more than the usual 30% for good service. Yeah, now I'm blowing my own horn, sorry. Go here. The Cuban sandwich is excellent

This is a lil hidden gem! If you love Cuban food then you have to try this place. The atmosphere is as if you’re in Cuba, the service is awesome and the food is sooooooo good! Give this place a try, you will be glad you did.

Excellent family Cuban food experience tucked away from the road a bit. Exceptionally friendly staff. Cuban sandwich was authentic and excellent. The pork especially was quite flavorful. Cocktails were made to order with fresh ingredients. Finished out the meal with Cuban coffee. Will definitely return when we are in this area in the future.
