Service was great but I ordered a Superman icecream something I have loved since I little boy and man was I disappointed it was just colored vanilla it’s hard to find real Superman icecream anymore

Eat outdoors, great iceream and different deserts types. This Dariy Joy has been around from the 70s or older and has always been a great choice . You can also use the drive-through next door to the main store. The drive through was a Turner Dairy drive through back in the 70 but now part of Dairy Joy store. Smart move and they can service more people and cars.

Every time we make the trip up to Tampa we make it a point to go to Dairy Joy the chocolate dipped vanilla cone and butterfinger shake are our go to. It's usually very busy but always well worth the wait

This place is awesome and fun for kids. It’s an all original 1958 Ice cream parlor. The music and general theme is 1950’s and it feels like a true time capsule. They have little Chevy Bel-Air cars for kids to sit in and take pictures,corn hole and plenty of shaded seating areas on both sides of the building. There is also a separate building next to it dedicated to drive-thru service. Plus the ice cream selection is huge and there is hot food like hot dogs as well and it’s all delicious.

Dairy Joy was owned by the same couple for like 40 years. I'm glad the new owner is keeping the brand and giving it a facelift, however with the old owners gone, the old prices have gone too; expect to spend $16 for two.

Neat ol' joint, been around since 1958. They play 50's and 60's tunes on the 📻 and serve up a unique "Brain Freeze". That's ice cream, slushie ice and soda if you get the Root beer float for instance. Then they blend it together for a fine drink. I give three stars on atmosphere because the patio area is pretty dirty. The floors, the tables and the walls need some attention. Most employees think cleaning is beyond their pay grade but that's another story. Overall, it's a fun place with some tasty treats!

Dairy Joy is the south Tampa staple and has been for many years? They are a small ice cream parlor located on South Manhattan in South Tampa. They have a drive-through or you can choose to park next-door and get out and enjoy sitting at some of the picnic tables. Their menu offers many choices. Anything from soft serve ice cream cones to banana splits, milkshakes, sundaes, snow cones, and so much more. My favorite is the chocolate malt EXTRA, EXTRA, EXTRA malt ! Dairy joy also offers small birthday party packages. Parking is not a problem, although they do have busy times.

I like this place. It’s a great place to take the family. I had a “spoon thick” vanilla with butterfinger (basically a blizzard.). Unfortunately the butterfinger was super old/chewy in big globs and the ice cream melted immediately (wasn’t kept cold enough).

The place is cute but the ice cream was melted, there was one girl working and there was a line around the building. Despite this the girl was very nice. It’s very hot and there are no fans I’d recommend going closer to sundown.

I came here for a milkshake. I think it was $8. Looked like it was given to me in a small McDonald's cup. Then I looked at the long line forming behind me and thought to myself man. The owner of this place has this neighborhood fooled. I've been to plenty of ice cream places from the beaches at Indian rocks to the sticks of zephy hills. This is obviously one of the biggest disappointments I've ever seen in a place considering how busy it is, no whipped cream. Nothing fancy, just some ice cream and milk in a paper cup for $8. It's pretty sad when an entire neighborhood thinks this place is the greatest, but my God I think I'd rather go get a frosty at Wendy's get twice as much and pay half the price. See you all in hell where the ice cream is always melted ....

Bravo to the Dairy Joy employee; you handled yourself with class! My son and I adore this place! The staff is always friendly, and the ice cream is just delicious. However, I was taken aback when a man in his 80s felt so comfortable using his language with one of the young workers at Dairy Joy. I get being upset, but the talk to a girl that’s old enough to be your granddaughter, like seriously, dude… It was terrible! But I must commend her for handling the situation perfectly.

Fantastic ice cream parlor decorated in a 1950’s style with a nice outdoor seating area. The butter pecan and birthday cake ice cream was delicious. Extensive menu with lots of flavors/toppings to choose from. They have a drive thru available as well if you prefer not to dine in.

Dairy Joy is a landmark that has been around since 1958, serving mainly ice cream. They have many varieties of good quality ice cream, including soft serve and some non-dairy. They also have a variety of cones, dips, toppings, milkshakes, and sundaes. Pretty much anything you could think of or request, they have. It is laid out in a nice setting with a 50s style atmosphere. They play old music over the loudspeaker. I won't give away all the decorations, but it is very eye appealing. They have one building as an old fashioned ice cream stand, and their building next door to it is a drive-thru. They have all the bases covered here. They have picnic tables to sit outside with umbrellas, a water fountain, restrooms, and napkins. They have menus in the multiple windows, and they have samples of all the sizes in the window so you can make your choices beforehand. They stay open pretty late. They have friendly servers, a modern checkout system, and a general good vibe that keeps you coming back for more.

I'm from out of town. I thought it was a charming experience with the lights and the seating and the friendly crowd. The ice cream was kind of heavy and overly sweet somehow. Almost didn't finish it but overall I love the experience

We went there with the family for a total of 10 people. The service was fast even though the store was busy and the ice cream was delicious. The atmosphere was fun. The kids played on the cars in the back and ran around like crazy people.

Super nostalgic. I went through the drive thru and got a vanilla waffle cone for my kiddo and a cherry dipped cone for myself. Really delicious treat and nice atmosphere. The kids working the door were so kind and patient with us explaining the menu and listening to a 5 year-old explain what he'd like lol. We plan on going back to sit down sometime to try their hotdogs and check out their patio area.

You lost a sale on a quart and large shake. You drive through was not busy there was no one there gentleman took my order and the girl walked out and told me I couldn't come to the drive-thru I had to go up to the walk-up window which was very busy with a bunch of children so you just lost the sale been coming here 44 years since your mother had it have a good day very disappointed.

First time here! It did not disappoint. I have been to a lot of icecream places with the kids over the years and this was by far the cleanest, nicest and offered a few different varieties we have never tried. We stuck around and played some corn hole. Being from New York I am glad we randomly found it.

I took my grandson after school to celebrate his making Honor Roll! He chose a large vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate and it was Large!! He loved it. I had a medium cup of mint chocolate, and it was the best ever! My grandson went to explore the secret garden and just relaxed in the beautiful quiet for a while! An excellent experience with great service, comfortable seating and such a pleasant atmosphere 😊👍

Lids don’t stay on new cups Used to come here for a milkshake with the kids every Tuesday night. A bit pricey but great ice cream and shakes. About a year ago they changed from generic cups to Dairy Joy branded cups. The lids don’t stay on the new cups. After 4 major spills in the car we’ve stopped going here.
