Edit 7/22/2024 Unfortunately they have closed for business, we are hoping for a food truck, new location something. One of the best mom and pop places around. We came to support Kblack for FiYAH Sundayz, a great show, and we ate the special Fish and Grits. The fish was crispy and had a hot sauce glaze that was hot enough to make your lips burn but sweet enough I would have eaten another couple of orders my self. This perfect piece of protein was played with care over a smooth and creamy order of Grits. The grits were adorned with caramelized pepper and onion, with an orange sauce that I would probably drink it was so tasty. Located in the heart of Historic Eatonville under the water tower. This is one of Orlando's best vegan restaurants that specializes in a Jamaican/Caribbean fare. Stop by and support or come check out FiYAH Sundayz at 6pm.

My first time visiting this place and was not impressed with the food portion and quality. I order the Hoax tails with rice and peas. Got home and open the box and found one small scoop of Hoax tails in the corner with a majority rice and peas. The final turn off from the meal was the fact that I found a rubber band in the rice half way through eating. I would have returned to the restaurant for a refund if I wasn't a 30 minute drive. Needless say, I don't recommend this restaurant and will never return.

The staff and atmosphere were great. I didn't have any of the food but I indulged myself and had a cinnamon bun. It was great. I also purchased some of the salad dressing which I plan to use as a marinade. I will definitely be back those cinnamon buns took me up.

I’ve been coming here for years! Back when they were located elsewhere. This is THE BEST VEGAN FOOD I’ve ever had. I am not a vegan however I absolutely love their jerk chkn sammich. It’s too good to be true, I was stuck on the identity crisis sammich for years but I finally have picked a side. The vibe in the restaurant is amazing and I love trying the different ice cream flavors.

Some of the best vegan eats in Central Florida. Who would've thought there would be a spot for vegan Jamaican cuisine? The hoaxtail is sublime, I love the toona sandwich and the brunch specials are out of this world. The customer service is top notch, everyone is always super friendly.

This place is a true hidden gem. I’m not vegetarian and the identity crisis sandwich tasted just like chicken. Everything is top quality

Everything we ordered was delicious!! I look forward to trying all the different bowl combos. Tasty fresh bread in the sandwich and bread pudding.

The food was delicious and this comes from a non vegan person. We did have a little bit of a wait but over all everything came out great. I recommend the Mac and cheese and jerk sandwich. Defining a place to check out if your a vegan or just looking for some delicious food!

I ordered a bowl with a vegan spicy crispy chicken with a side of rice and beans. It was so yum, I never enjoyed a bowl like this. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Waited 20mins for cold food. Cauliflower, beans and rice, and some mystery meat that looked like some type of ham was cold. Not even lukewarm. Best thing was the mock rib. They did offer to give refund.

I have wanted to try DaJen eats for a long time! We dropped in for lunch and they were knowledgable and kind when I was seeking gluten free. The presentation was wonderful and it's so much more foodthan expected. The hoax tail almost fooled me and was incredibly delicious. The rice and brand was also very, very good. My husband loved the buffalo cauliflower and the sorrel was enough to dilute and share!

Absolutely delicious!! This was my husband's first time eating Jamaican and I've eaten it a lot in the past. We had the jerk chik'n, buffalo chik'n, smoked Mac 'n cheese, buffalo cauliflower, banana pudding bread. We wish we lived closer just so we could go back regularly!! Everyone was real nice and the presentation of the food is what I would expect from a much more expensive restaurant. Nice vibe eating inside with good music and when we asked for a 'to go' box, it was made of a compostable material. Can't say enough of this place. A hidden gem!

Good vegan food. Cornbread was a little dry. The bowl portions were large. You will be full after eating here. Cauliflower was tasty.

First let me say the customer service was definitely 5 stars! Very informed and friendly! Please know if you eat here, you seat yourself and you also clean up after yourself! Seating is limited inside and outside. The food is little pricey but it was good. I got a salad with the crispy vegan chicken! The portion was definitely a nice size, I wish the vegan chicken was bigger. I did not like the fact that they don’t put ice in your beverages, I got the Mango Ginger lemonade. It was room temperature and I couldn’t drink it. The cornbread was very dry so I don’t recommend that. The salad I definitely recommend!

Great vegan spot! They greet you at the door, the menu is simple and makes it quick to decide. It’s no wonder why their sandwiches are a la carte, because they’re huge! Very filling. If you like spice with the identity crisis, jerk and buffalo best of both worlds. Great juices and cinnamon bun. The rice was good, not spicy for those who are wondering. I would return again.

Fried chicken was good, rest was ok. Also food took too much time to come.

The food is great but what is causing me not to ever come here again is the service! The service has let me down three times within on year! The business closes for day at a time without notice or sign and the web says there open when they aren’t at times! One time they were clothed for months, checked Facebook and good and nothing.. so unprofessional.. And my order was made wrong with the wrong receipt attached and was promised by the staff that a refund (when I called) would be issued to me immediately and then was never told to me that I would have place refund through Uber eats.. which was kind of self explanatory but you still promised me to refund me as if you could process the refund without explaining the process.. no free meal was offered to redo or nothing so at this point, I’m done! ✅

Love the staff, very sweet but the food wasn’t the greatest.. We got the sweet & sour cauliflower wings bowl which came with rice & a “salad”. The only good thing about this bowl were the cauliflower wings. The rice & beans were cold & bland.. tasted nothing like a Jamaican styled bowl. The “salad” seemed prepackaged. Won’t be coming back. We ordered 2 of the same bowls & they took 45 mins to bring us the food.. Also, everything’s made with soy which is terrible for those dealing with hormonal imbalances. Hopefully they get better!

5 stars are not enough.! First time here and was blown away by the food, the friendly staff and the cozy dine in atmosphere. Took the family while we were in Orlando and everyone walked away full, happy and taking about our next trip back here. The process is high but yiu decibel get what you pay for and the portions alone make it worth every penny. I got the identity risks sandwich and let out a very audible groan upon first but it was so good. I can honestly say I’ve never had a better sandwich in my life. My wife got a cornbread sandwich and kids both got the chik’n and waffles. We even managed to take some leftovers home the portions are that big! They have a super cute reading nook full of books for all ages S well as a selection of family games to enjoy while you wait. Everything about this place was so well thought out and had an “at home” feel. Quit reading this review and just go already. Vegan or not this place is beyond amazing.

My husband and I are OBSESSED with Dajen Eats. I’ve been a vegan for 14 years. I’ve lived in LA. I’ve lived in Chicago. I’ve lived in Portland. I have had the privilege of travelling all over the world, eating vegan food. This food is INCREDIBLE. 10/10

This was my first time at Dajen Eats. I visited because of a video I saw on Tabitha Brown’s YouTube page. I was not disappointed! From the moment I walked in, I felt very welcomed. The two people I encountered, Makese and Zenobia, gave top-tier customer service. They both were very helpful with suggesting menu items. I came for the Identity Crisis sandwich that was in Tab’s video. I got the sandwich, the Fully Loaded Hoax Tail Grits, a Sorrel Mimosa (which was very good!) and Bread Pudding. I wanted to try an array of things. Each and every item was amazing and full of flavor! I am not vegan at all, but I do enjoy vegan dishes, so I am so glad I tried this restaurant. I don’t live in the Eatonville area, but this place is so worth the drive. I will definitely go back and would recommend this restaurant to vegans and non-vegans alike!

Absolutely phenomenal food! I typically don’t give reviews. Since the food was exceptional I needed to share. The hoax tails and vegan ribs are insanely good. When you first walk in you notice the smell of deeply seasoned food. I said, “Oh yeah, this is going to be good.” There are two sides of the restaurant. One side where there light seating to accommodate waiting. The other side has irie hand crafted ice cream. There’s plenty of seating with an area to read if you’d like. It has a Jamaican atmosphere with kid friendly music. The staff was helpful and friendly. We were allowed to taste the food. Everything was good. I mean every single thing was good. Loaded with flavors. We also had the ginger drinks. Light ginger flavored drinks mixed with pineapple, mango, or just OG (original ginger). We met Chef Jenn. Very friendly lady with a great smile. I’m grateful she’s sharing her gift with Orlando. How did I get here? I caught a video with Tabitha Brown in it and she wasn’t lying. Dajen Eats is my #1 vegan spot and I’ve tried plenty of them.

The owner was really nice and very helpful. The food was good and i'll definitely be returning to try more of her food.

I'm a full-blown carnivore for sure but this spot was enjoyable. I'd go again, no problem. Maybe not super right away but soon. Worth a shot if you're looking for a unique vegan experience.

I have been vegan for 20 years. The food is INSANELY good here. I visited from out of town and was referred by a family member. I went to DaJen Eats 2 days in a row (breakfast and brunch), gorged as I dined in and took a little leftover food back to my home state because I didn't want to waste any of what I got. The food and service are really good. So is the artwork and the reading nook. I wish this vegan spot was franchised everywhere. That's really how good the food is. They also cater to people who have adaptive and neurosensory needs.

Tastes great but then I found out they lied about their ingredients when their employees came forward about it. Disappointed and hoping they do better.

Listen! If I could give this place 10 stars I would! I don't know why this spot never popped up when searching vegan food before but I'm so glad I found them ❤️. Everything is delicious and the bread pudding will have you in love. You honestly cannot go wrong with anything you order here. As I write this I'm waiting for them to open tomorrow so I can run and get some more bread pudding 🤤. Best vegan spot in Central Florida!!!

My husband and I had the best experience at DaJen Eats! The food was absolutely delicious. It was so good that we came back again our last day in Orlando and ordered a pick 6 and got everything plus deserts. We want to thank all of the staff for their warm hospitality and genuine service. A special thank you to Joshua for the awesome service he gave us each time we came in with a joyful "Waah Gwan" and down to earth personality. Love this place! I’m not vegan but I like to come here just because the food is so soooooo delicious (and I must admit it makes me feel better knowing there’s no meat products ;)). I’ve brought my non-vegan and family members here as well & they all LOVE the food. They’re so impressed that’s it’s vegan. I would definitely recommend that you eat here if you’re in the mood for some delicious food that will leave you satisfied!

Spectacular. DaJen Eats supports my idea that small, local restaurants can provide a superior dining experience. The variety and flavors here are amazing. I had a "rib" sandwich that was overflowing with fillings. I also had a mango ginger lemonade that was very delicious. They do not skimp on quantity or quality. I felt like I got excellent value for the money spent. The gentleman who took my order was friendly and knowledgeable, providing good advice on items available on the menu. I will definitely come back and try more items on the menu.

First time visiting, I ordered the special of the day- lasagna and garlic knot. They showed out!!! Service is good, food is delicious, atmosphere is eye-catching with many artworks posted up. Portion size and price point is reasonable compared to other Orlando plant-based restaurants. It's good eats. The hospitality is there too.

Great food vegan Jamaican style. Vegan Ice cream is awesome. Must try a scoop. Morning menu?. Interesting specialty days and weekends. Recommend more items and variety on regular weekday menu like salads and sandwiches, fried rice, chow mein, fries and also sweet potato fries, Vegan milkshakes, vegan chicken nuggets etc. Enjoy. So people can bring out the kids who don't want a big bowl to build. But exception food.

Okay soo I’ve been coming here for YEARS and they hit a rough patch for a little while there where the food and vibe was just off compared to when they first opened (just my opinion) they had taken off a lot of items from the menu that I felt were their best items. But since they’ve reopened!? Man! They got the old items back, the wierd staff they had in there seems to be gone and the food is actually seasoned to par again. I’m glad they took a step back to revamp the place because it feels like the gas station days where you could taste the passion in the food. It had left for awhile there. But, I definitely recommend

Excellent food!!! Random find on my visit to Maitland as I am from out of state. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in recommending menu items- I tried a rice and rainbow slaw bowl with sweet and spicy cauliflower and their crispy chikn'... it was to die for! The vegan chicken was so delicious and tasted like real chicken (I am not personally vegan but enjoy vegan food finds) and the cauliflower was so flavorful with the perfect amount of crispiness. Would return to Florida just for another visit here, hope to get to try their vegan ice creams one day as well!

Oh man, I just finished my hoax tail and crispy (vegan)chicken bowl and damn. It was amazing. You'd never be able to tell it's not meat, but it isn't, it's better than meat. Love this place and I am ecstatic to see them back open. I got some grape nuts ice cream and a loaf of bread as requested. I also had to get a couple pastries, the bread pudding and the sweet roll which is kinda ambiguous but amazing nevertheless. Always a 5 star experience.

Very pleasantly surprised as I did not initially know that this was a vegan restaurant and I am vegetarian. So I was so happy to try this on my visit to Eatonville and I was not disappointed. When you walk in there's friendly staff and they meet you with a greeting of wah gwan it caught me off guard, but I did respond the same. I had the hoax tale sandwich and jerk macaroni salad it was very good! The flavor and texture was on point, I was in tastebud heaven. I can't wait to try the other itsms on the menu I loved it and definitely will be going back!

The place needs more tender loving care although the food is tasty. The manager has a awful argumentative demeanor. It also seems to always be temporarily closed.

I have gone here many times and took different family members and friends. I am vegan and love finding great vegn restaurants. We all loved the food, even the picky ones (kids) and the non vegans. I am so happy that I can bring anyone, and they will love the food. Thanks DeJen.

Good place and food is awesome a nice island vibe

Food is amazing. The dine-in experience, not so much. My recommendation, would be to keep the right side of the establishment as a kitchen and close it off if necessary (put a large double door). In the kitchen, add a vent hood with a charcoal filter. The restaurant is filled with smoke, which can hurt the eyes while you’re trying to enjoy your meal.
