Love the taste of the chicken strips and the cajun mac and cheese!!! I crave this stuff frequently!!

Update: The owner reached out to me right away and apologized. He did not charge me for the food. He told me this was not representative of what they serve at all and has invited me to give them another try. I’m very happy with the result of rectifying the problem. I will be trying their new location once it is open. Burnt, stale chicken. Not fresh at all. 12 piece didn’t come with large side, but very small ones. No moonpies. $50 ripoff.

Good fried chicken, collard greens with some flavor, good red beans and rice. Dixieland jazz playing in the stereo. Very likeable lunch

I don't usually write reviews but this is a MUST VISIT!! The Cajun dipped chicken and their gumbo is absolutely amazing. If I lived here I'd be a regular! I wish I ordered the whole menu to try but I honestly devoured all the food I got :) Been to a bunch of chicken shops but this one stands above the rest for me Moe and the kitchen staff today know what hospitality means and they made us feel so welcome and whole. Will be coming back every time we're in Fort Walton for the service and amazing food. 10/5 experience

Some of the best Cajun style chicken I've ever had

Gumbo...couldnt eat it. Macroni and Cheese no taste Need exhaust fans. Walked out and had to go home and shower and wash hair. Very disappointed.

Best fried chicken/tenders I’ve ever had in my life.

Absolutely fantastic chicken. Leaving town after a 7 day stay in Destin, and this may have been the best food we ate all trip. Don’t be turned off by the gas station atmosphere. The chicken doesn’t play. Unbelievably good stuff.

Man, listen. I just moved here to FWB. I have been craving chicken and I already knew the regular places weren’t going to cut it. I had saw the Dixieland restaurant when moving into the storage unit. A few days later I decided to give it a try. This is the closest you will get to home made - this chicken is yummy 🤤. You have to try. Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself. Update 09-02-2023: When I first went here it was really great. Above expectations the first and second time. Now every time I go. I never get what I order. I always order cajun dipped chicken and my orders are never dipped. I guess somethings are just one time.

I eat here once or twice a week. Everyone is super friendly It is always clean. And the food is delicious.

I got the chicken pot pie with Mac and cheese and Dixon potatoes on the side. That was the absolute best pot pie I've ever had in my life. The pie crust was fluffy, yet crispy. The filling had mixed veggies - green beans, corn & carrots. It was spicy, creamy and thick. As for the potatoe wedges, they were fried to perfection with a kick, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. As for the Mac and cheese, it could use a little more seasoning, but it was thick and pretty good. I will be coming back!

Wonderful experience. Everyone friendly and service was excellent. I had three piece Cajun chicken fingers with side of seafood gumbo. Out of this world. I'll be back.

First, let me start by saying I was not expecting a whole lot... I WAS WRONG, so very wrong.... This place blew any expectations I had out of the window. This is a locals must stop!... We chatted with the staff for a bit since the food was so great and we were so impressed by what we learned... The staff and owners are outstanding, food is hot, fresh, full of flavor, and HOMEMADE! The tenders are juicy and huge! The sides are all made on site daily, full of flavor, and just the right size, they look small, but I left with half of my meal saved for later. I without a doubt recommend this Dixieland Chicken to everyone! As much as I hate sharing my favorite finds, we need some great places to eat locally and this is one!

This place is hands down the best fried chicken restaurant around here! So fresh, with an amazing Louisiana flare. Ive had the chicken tenders, the fried liver and the gumbo. Best gumbo Ive had in awhile. All of the sides are on point too which is hard to find in alot of restaurants. I've tried the greens, mac n cheese, red beans and rice, and dirty rice. All made with love. I highly suggest this place! They don't disappoint

This place has the best chicken. Authentic Louisiana southern cooking. Give the coleslaw and creole potatoe salad a try! Its one of my favorite sides especially when its made with apple cider vinegar.

Probably some of the best cajun chicken I've had! Mac and cheese is a must! Go there and pickle will hook you up!!

Try this place because it was new in the area. Overall average restaurant. Chicken was OK. Nothing phenomenal. The red beans and rice side dish was not great at all. Roasted potatoes were a little bit different but again nothing to write home about. I probably won’t be back.

Let me tell you this place is AMAZING! I had their spicy chicken tenders with gumbo on the side. The tenders were the perfect level of spicy creole & definitely the best Louisiana gumbo I've had in awhile!

Hands down the best chicken I've ever had outside of my wife’s cooking, and the best fried chicken ever, no qualifiers. Everything was served hot and fresh, and the seasoning on everything was superb. The prices are hard to beat, and the serving sizes are great too! If there was anything disappointing about this, it's that I'll have to drive back to Destin to get more because there's no other place like it. They also have a nice patio area off to the side under the shade of a tree which cooled the area off greatly even under the afternoon Florida sun. It's off the beaten path a bit, but could hold its own on the main beach row if they ever got a shot at it. My wife and I will definitely be back soon, and maybe even before we leave...

A must try! We are foodies and appreciate *flavor* and Dixieland Chicken delivered! They deserve all 5 stars and more! We tried the 2 piece bone-in meal and the 3 piece tender meal along with sides of Dixie Potatoes(so fresh, well seasoned and delicious!), Mac and cheese(very creamy, flavorful, cheesy, perfectly seasoned and delicious!) and the red beans and rice(at a chicken place?! So great!), each coming with delicious buttery toast and pickle slices. The value for what you get is unmatched compared to the many many other chicken restaurants we’ve tried, the US over. Plus a baby moon pie and a drink included? Wow! All the applause to you all, we will definitely tell our friends and will definitely be back! A plus was the pet friendly patio area, under a grouping of shade trees, absolutely perfect.

Wow, amazing chicken!! We are foodies and are very picky. Dixieland is spot on fried chicken and sides. The spices was our favorite. Great flavor and light fried. Don't miss this spot. Can't wait to go back!
