Picture it... Hawaii 2021... A Sicilian girl marries a Polish guy. They move to beautiful Florida. This man knows nothing about Italian food and mispronounces even the easiest Italian soups at Olive Garden. Over the years, he learns a little... But still tries to impress his wife by ordering fancy things that always disappoint. One Monday the wife just wants a cheese pizza. Simple and delicious. They decide to try somewhere new and he calls and orders a Neoploitan while she is in the shower. Thank God she also asked for an antipasto salad... because when he got home with a pizza with barely any cheese on it and tons of sauce, he about got a divorce! The man now knows to NEVER order a Neoploitan Pizza again. The antipasto was fantastic and saved the day! Now this was NOT the restaurants fault, but for those who are not Italian and don't know.... If you like cheese, this is NOT the pizza for you. Can't wait to reorder and try a real cheese pizza soon from Genovese's.... 🍕☺️

Fantastic authentic Italian food! We stayed with the bruschetta. It was fantastic. She had the Chicken Parm, I had the chicken Alfredo, and they allowed me to add shrimp. I also had a cup of Italian wedding soup. Everything was delicious. Then I couldn't say no to a cannoli for dessert. If I had to come up with something to complain about? I'd say the music was odd. You go to an Italian place, maybe place some classic Italian music? Lol, not old pop music. Oh, and they had a TV by the front counter, playing Wheel of Fortune. Maybe dim the lights a bit, some candles on the tables, some good soft Italian music. It would help set the mood better.

Best pizza I have had in a very long time. I wish I lived closer so I could eat there all the time. Lol

Have been coming yearly for many years. The food is still excellent, but the service this time was rude. The waiter looked at his watch as he took our order more than an hour before their stated closing time. Our pizza came out with no toppings, and he then informed us it couldn't be corrected because "we're closed." Hesitant to recommend because of the bad service.

We walked in and were welcomed and told to sit wherever we'd like. The garlic bread with cheese was great and the spinach alfredo pizza was even better. Hands down best pizza ive had

I’ve been going here for years. Overall service and food quality is down a bit. Ordered a pizza and they brought me the wrong one. Then the phone never picks up to resolve. The tomatoes and mozzarella app was bland and had hardly any balsamic. Maybe they ran out. Overall this was mediocre for 60 bucks takeout. Hopefully better next time

I have lived in the Port Orange area for at least 40 years. Coincidentally, Genovese’s Italian Cafe has been around the same amount of time, yet I’ve never dined there. A friend suggested we go there for dinner and I’m so glad we did! The moment you walk in the restaurant, delightful Italian spices greet your senses. We sat at the booths that offer the COVID plastic dividers. Glad to see them still around! We dined on chicken parmigiana and baked penne pasta. Our friend chose the Stromboli which was fabulous! I can’t say enough about our meals and the homemade bread. Portions were so large, we took half of our dinners home with us. Will be back soon!

We are here on vacation from Texas, and we were looking for a good Italian restaurant. My wife read the reviews, and we decided to give Genovese's a try. When we arrived, there at 7:30, there was a sign that said no table sitting after 7:45. We were like good, we have time. My "Hispanic" wife and our 11 year old "Hispanic " son went in first to get us a table while I parked. When I went in, they were still standing there, and no one had said a word to her. Everyone was staring at us like we had horns on our heads. A lady proceeded to yell at me, saying that they were closed and that there were no tables. I informed her that we arrived at 7:30, but she continued to yell at me. We walked out and went somewhere else. I don't normally play the race card, but It makes me wonder if we had been a white, older couple would we have been seated. Even our son was asking us why that lady was so angry, and my wife explained that racism is everywhere.

I must preface this with I never leave bad reviews, and I happen to like the food here but I'm sad to say I came in this evening with my wife and two children, we were sat and we waited twenty minutes and watched two tables directly next to us be greeted and and have their orders taken even though they were sat after us, we were completely ignored and we left without being greeted, I won't be returning... they also haven't answered the phone for any of my last five attempted pizza orders, damn shame, gonna have to find a new Italian spot I guess...

Decent little pizza spot close to where we were staying for the week. The pizza was better than your normal chain joint.

Ordered the spinach, Alfredo added garlic and eggplant. It was ready on time as ordered. We did a pick up. It was wonderful. Lots of flavors, eggplant thin like we like it. There are a lot of pizza places in this area, but I will say this is one of the best experiences I’ve had in a while. They offer their traditional crust or Sicilian, which is more thick crust, if that’s what people like just not my style. I think the next time we want to go there it’s going be a dining experience because it was a random Monday night in the place was a very busy. The only reason for the four stars is because their website needs to be updated with their prices. I actually told the young man that took my order that and he said he would make note of it to the management.

Just left after having had dinner. This was the first time I’ve been here and am sad I’ve driven by and not stoped before. Spaghetti and meatballs … delicious. My friend had the meat Stromboli and she sad it was very good, too. I left very full and pleased.

Very cool little spot that's not a chain type pizza place. We like that part. The flavor of the pizza is very good also but it was sooooo greasy for just the cheese pizza and the cheese and pepperoni. We got one of the really thick pizzas also and it was good also flavor wise but had wayy to much bread and nowhere near enough cheese or pepperoni for the thickness of it and the price they charged lol. All that being said I'd still recommend giving it a try

Food was great server was so bad

While visiting Daytona there were so many pizza places to choose from. It was quite overwhelming. We choose Genovese's because of the consistent good reviews. We arrived right during rush time on a Friday night, so waited about 35 minutes for a table. This is usually a sign that you should not leave. We were able to have a beer and prosecco while we waited and the time went by quick. We had a feta salad which was absolutely gigantic and very yummy. Plenty of dark green leaves, not just a bunch of white lettuce stalks. The pizza was quite good, and I've got to give them credit for their marinara sauce - sweet and delicious. I can tell they use quality ingredients in all of the things we ordered.

Straight up, a five star review. I wished I had known about this place in all years we have been visiting Daytona Beach Shores! What the heck? We had to try the bread sticks with cheese, cheese pizza, salad, manicotti, and the chicken Parmesan! Needless to say we needed a huge "to go" box to eat later. The sauce is the best I have ever eaten. Kudos to the chef and our waitress! Not sure why someone would say the sauce had no flavor. What??? Olive Garden cannot compare or even come close to this great Italian restaurant. Thank you so much for the wonderful taste of authentic Italian food!

For starters, their marinara, phenomenal. Literally out of this world. This was our first time trying food here, my mom and I looked all over the internet for a good Italian restaurant for every bit of 30 minutes. Stumbled across Genovese’s and was a little skeptical at first because of some of the reviews but ended up highly pleased and honestly very impressed with some of the BEST Chicken Parmesan I’ve ever had, seriously. And my mom loved their Manicotti (also the best she’s had) and we have been to many Italian restaurants over the years. Again, that marinara, so amazing. Service was great too, our server was very kind and pleasant. We definitely will be back on our next vacation.

My son enjoyed his pizza. Had an amazing waitress. But they don't put enough sauce on the noodles, it's bland with no seasoning, and the meatballs tasted bland as well. Wasn't worth the money for the pasta, but the pizza was decent.

Was a little disappointed. This place was recommended by 2 people (we're from out of town so we asked at our hotel). The reason I was disappointed was bc the food was just "meh". The service was ok, sure didn't come around as much as I saw other servers making their rounds but she may have been busy. The bread was extra tough and crunchy and wasn't the best. The Italian salad dressing I assume is made in house and was pretty good, but they don't give enough for the size of the salad. I wanted to ask for more, but our server didn't come back in time before our food arrived. My son's sandwich was kinda small for the price, I feel, but he said it was pretty good.

If I lived closer, I'd be poor from ordering from here constantly. The food was absolutely amazing!!!

I went to their new location in Daytona after having had a great meal at their Ormond Beach location, however I was disappointed in the size and flavor of my meatball sandwich which contained few meatballs and practically no sauce. Bread was good, but flavor was absent. Disappointed.

Good not the best I ever had. It’s tough to get great food in Daytona area. It is a nice sit down place but I’ve been to Italy and this was not like Italy.

Waiter was pleasant, however I asked for extra bread never brought it, asked another waitress she never brought it. Was never offered seconds on drinks. Waited and waited no luck. Finally asked for bill. I informed him of above and he said we'll we are kind of busy. Ouch! Place was not that busy, and No reason to not return. Zero tip. ZERO.

Went here for the first time last night. The food and staff are wonderful. Prices are very good too. I had the Chicken Parm with Fettuccine and it was excellent! The pasta was cooked perfect! The couple sitting next to me ordered a large pizza and they said it was delicious. It looked it too! Highly recommend.

We've been to genovese's Italian Cafe a number of times now and it is certainly a standby here in Daytona Beach shores and Port Orange. Their food is consistently good with amazing service and just a great place to go for a good Italian dinner.

We ordered the Lasagna. Very disappointing. Bread was hard and you could break a tooth eating it. Portion was not enough for 2 people and delivered not even warm. Never again. Save your money and go to Olive Garden in Pott Orange. Excellent food and value.

A friendly and clean restaurant with highly carbonated cold sodas! The food here is something you will not forget! I leave 4 stars on the food not for the flavor but for the excessive amount of red sauce on my chicken parmigiana and the spaghetti noodles were so so.. Also I don’t ever eat salads but here I could eat salads all day long! They have the best flavor I’ve ever had!

This place was awesome a year ago. Now it is not so good. The sauce I once loved and would almost drink now taste like a jar of Prego from the dollar store. The meat in the lasagna was not good at all and the whole dish tasted like it was frozen Stouffer's. Breaks my heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Change things back to what made this place great for 40 years please!

What a waste of time and money. Soup was flavorless Italian wedding, Italian dressing was flavorless and watered down, they are out of their entire wine list, and as of writing our table of 3 have been waiting 51 minutes on entrees. Edited. Food came out at the hour mark. Order was wrong. Waiter blamed the kitchen. Do not come here, it isn't what it once was.

Is a local restaurant where you can see that the customers are friends with the employees. Is where the locals go. It was packed. Nothing fancy, we ordered the Putanesca Pizza, and it was hot and delicious. I will visit again.

So disappointed with this place. We have been to the one in Ormond beach and have been highly impressed with the food and service but this location was so rude. We showed up at 8:30pm (1 and a half hours before closing at 10pm) to order TO GO and they said they weren’t accepting orders. An hour and a half before closing??? Before asking for a to-go order, they asked how many for a dine in table so obviously they were willing to still serve us. I would not be so upset if not for the absolute rudeness they showed towards us. No apology at all, and all we wanted was 1 pizza. Again, we are very reasonable people and would never think about ordering 30 minutes before closing somewhere but they informed us of their 11pm closing time. The worst attitude we have ever received, absolutely would not go to this location again ever.

All the food we got was super delicious. Tiramasu was outstanding. Service - our waitress was on it. The resturant could use updating. I would 100% go back. My chicken parmesan was cooked perfect. I got it with their cheese raviolis and those were cooked perfect too.

My wife took me here for my birthday while on vacation in Port Orange, FL. I couldn't have asked for a more authentic, tasty, and fulfilling Italian meal! The portions were large, and both my wife and I ended up taking some home. Waitress was incredible... very attentive and helpful with menu choices! We highly recommend this Italian eatery!
