Great service Great atmosphere Food quantity to cost... not Great. The rolls are very small.

Went last night for the first time with the family: 4 adults, 2 kids. The dumplings, edamame, salad , egg rolls and one roll was good. The hibachi, the kids rolls and two adult rolls were not. The avocado was black. The water tasted awful. Also, the place stunk because they were doing construction next door. General consensus was we do not want to return. The positives: the waiter was great! Place had a nice atmosphere. I don’t understand how it got a 4.8. I should be 4 at best.

Had a delicious meal here. The service was very quick & friendly. They put a lot effort in the presentation of the food. Lots of parking, clean bathrooms.

We have been looking for fresh sushi and here it is❤️the best in town we finally found our sushi home❤️service was magnificent as well!!!

We had dinner here for the first time tonight. It was absolutely delicious. We had the M16 Roll, Spicy Girl Roll, and the Chattanooga Roll. Jimmy was our waiter and he was very engaging and took care of us. We can’t wait to go back.

I ate here today for the first time with my girlfriend. Katana has a beautiful environment & you can tell everyone there enjoys working there. We ordered the Hamachi Kama appetizer, Shogun roll and Crispy Dragon roll. 10/10 this is the best sushi in Georgia 😎

Had lunch there yesterday.sushi was super fresh, portions generous, cool decor, great service. Definitely competitive with Sakura, especially since service was so much better.

Just had dinner here tonight. Overall was a very good experience. Restaurant is nice and clean. Sushi is fresh and delicious. Hibachi is also good, not the best in town. But for East Cobb it was great. Our waiter was awesome his name was Jose. Will come back.

I’ve recently discovered this place. Ordered a take out of sashimi. Great quality of super fresh fish, yummy miso, so would definitely return to try more

My husband and I went for lunch the other day and to our surprise they had a sushi special for either two or three rolls with a soup or salad! It was our first time here and the atmosphere is very inviting and clean! The staff was friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be going back because the food was amazing! The sushi was fresh and scrumptious.!!!

Incredible sushi! The other sushi places in the area have some serious new competition! Love that they have 50+ rolls to choose from. Tons of great creations!

All the sushi was pretty good. No complaints with anything we ate. The vibe and device was good too.

We had eaten here before. The food was good the 1st time, but every experience thereafter has gotten progressively worse. We tried to take our family of four there yesterday. It was a later lunch and we walked in and wanted to sit at a window booth. The waitress TWICE sat us somewhere other than where we requested. It felt really deliberate and petty...so we left and had sushi elsewhere instead. I understand that a seating request may not be possible when a restaurant is very busy, but it was closer to 1p and it was mostly empty. The time before that we went and ordered food and after taking our order, the waiter never came back to check on us. Anytime we needed anything, we practically had to stand up and wave him over. It was weird. On both occasions, the restaurant was not full.

Really great sushi, fried rice, and takoyaki. Quiet atmosphere, great service. Food came almost surprisingly fast for a Friday, though we came in early. Hope that this new spot stays open!

Me and my husband popped in for dinner after an evening of running errands and had a great experience! From the moment we walked in, we were immediately seated and our server approached us just as quickly. Outstanding service!! Maxine was so attentive and anticipated every need. We ordered an appetizer sushi roll and our soups, salads, and entrees were coursed out perfectly. The portions are generous (yay, leftovers) and the pricing is very reasonable, not to mention everything was delicious! The ambience is lively and upbeat yet comfortable and not too loud. An added bonus was that they played the best music! The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained too. We will definitely be back regularly.

I love this place! I just discovered it based on Google reviews and decided to try it for myself. Friendly staff and such fresh seafood. Everything I've tried is exceptional. They also have a full bar. You won't be disappointed. Btw ..For those who have the Upside app, this restaurant is listed!

This place needs to be on a tour guide, It's incredible!! The service was great!! Came in for lunch with my wife and young daughter. We have eaten sushi at hundreds of places and several countries and Katana did not disappoint!. I believe Jimmy was our server, he was super cool and nice, was attentive. Our compliments to the sushi chefs as the rolls and individual sushi tasted fresh and delicious!! The edamame and soup were awesome. We'll definitely be going back. Thanks again! ...Update April 2024. Went back a few days ago with the family. It was missed! Again incredible service and absolutely Top Top food. Everything was incredible!! My son ordered Chicken nuggets and fries, who knew they had that!!, then my son was feeling like he wanted to try some of what we were having and he ordered a Shrimp Soba and he loved it!!!!!. So happy to have this place only minutes from us. Everyone there is incredible and always smiling and treated us like Royalty!

We just ate at Katana and had an outstanding experience. We enjoyed a delicious sushi boat for two, and our kids shared a huge portion of fried rice, miso soup, and potstickers. The sushi is probably the best in East Cobb – incredibly fresh, with amazing special rolls. The service was excellent, and the gorgeous decor added to the overall experience. Highly recommend Katana for a fantastic meal!

I came to visit my friends and was lucky enough to pick out a great restaurant on the way, especially hibachi, which was delicious. The staff was very attentive to us and I ordered some sushi. Those sashimi are very fresh. I'd give it five stars. I'll be back again.

The food is the worst thing you will ever have. The quality is like they pulled it out of a dumpster, and everything either tastes like crab, wasabi, or the worst fishy taste. Their entire thing is presentation so it looks good but then you can’t eat it or else you’ll throw up.

Stopped by for a quick lunch,, no one never came to the counter to help us so we just left.

We went for lunch and ordered the lunch special with 2 rolls and 3 rolls. Our lunches came with a choice of soup or salad. We enjoyed the quiet environment, fresh sushi, and attentive service.

It seems to be a pattern of fraud for this restaurant to advertise specials to induce people to patronize their business and then refuse to honor the advertised specials. They refused to honor their lunch special which was advertised on the sign in front their restaurant when I went there last week, and according to the review of Sandra O on Yelp, they refused to honor a drink special she tried to redeem. A restaurant with such fraudulent business practices will not last long in East Cobb. Their short-sightedness and lack of hospitality is mind boggling. ***Response to restaurant’s reply below: The response of the restaurant below is not true. I told the waitress that I knew exactly what I wanted to order, but she said that the restaurant stopped serving lunch at 2:45. When I told her that I would be going elsewhere for lunch, her response was a curt “Ok.” As I exited the building I once again saw the sign advertising the lunch specials from 11am to 3pm. I came back into the restaurant and told her that the sign should be changed to accurately reflect the availability of the special. Additionally, I called the restaurant 3 times over two days to attempt to speak to the owner about the incident. I left both my office number and my personal cell phone number, and I never received a call back. It seems that public reviews are the only thing that get their attention, and even then, they are incapable of apologizing and admitting that they were wrong or taking any corrective action. It’s no wonder their Buckhead location failed. With this type of customer service, the East Cobb location will not be far behind.

Everything was absolutely amazing! Their sushi, sashimi, and raw oysters were just as fresh and delicious as any expensive restaurant in all of Atlanta. This was one of the best places I’ve eaten at in a long time and the service was excellent. This is now my go-to sashimi spot!

We came in February to check this place out as we were on the hunt for a new sushi place closer to us. Katana did not disappoint and blew us away. Our server was so nice and the sushi was amazing. This has become our go to spot for sushi.

We finally had a chance to go visit katana sushi after hearing some great reviews, and decided to make our experience more proper by sitting at the sushi bar and chatting up the chefs. The atmosphere was really well done, and the service was beyond top-notch. Overall the service was quick, the food came out, incredibly fast and well-made. Pricewise it’s a little more expensive, but not out of the ordinary. You still get better sushi at Egge Sushi Near the 120 loop. Take note: at the time of this review, you are allowed to bring your own alcohol on premises, which we did, and they were totally fine with it. They even offer cups needed for wine or sake. We grabbed a bottle of Sami from Publix and worked like a charm. Highly recommended if you’re looking for great sushi in the East Cobb area.

The restaurant is beautiful. The staff friendly. This is my experience and my opinion only. My soup that came with the meal was not warm had to send back to ask for it to be hot it came back warm not hot, however it tasted good. I had steak and shrimp and my steak was tough, the shrimp I had asked to be cooked well and it was fleshy and not cooked well as I had requested. The vegetables were very good. The fried rice which you pay extra for, was not warm .

Great sushi and hibachi. Looking forward to my next visit.

After a wonderful lunch yesterday with a friend, I returned tonight for dinner with my family. Again, wonderful service, delicious food, in the lovely and comfortable Katana restaurant.

Everyone needs to try this place, it's so good.

I’ve been to most of the sushi places in the area but for some reason never got to Katana. Boy am I glad I did! Excellent service and fantastic tasting sushi! I’m looking forward to going back again soon.

The food is excellent! Presentation is wonderful as well. Service is great. Can’t say enough. A great addition to the East Cobb restaurant options. They do not have a liquor license yet, which is the only down-side. But only a matter of time until they get it.

Hands down this is the best new Japanese restaurant in East Cobb. Bright and airy location that is very inviting upon walking through the door. We started with a couple of sushi rolls for appetizer. The sushi was so fresh it could have been swimming in the ocean twenty minutes before I ate…not to mention the presentation was beautiful. As for the hibachi, there was no skimping on the portions. Flavorful dishes that left everyone at the table satisfied. This is now our go to for Japanese. Consider your 2024 a disappointment if you don’t make it here to eat.

Had an absolutely delicious sushi experience tonight! Freshest I’ve had in a long time. And prepared in a very subtle “one notch up” way. Atmosphere was on point and service was perfect. Every table was full tonight! Great addition to the Merchant’s Walk/East Cobb area as far as a Japanese option! Look forward to going back soon.

This place is incredible. The ambience, decor, and staff are all excellent. The place is seriously clean, and the food was amazing. The plating is beautiful, the fish is high quality, and the hibachi options were great. Prices were fair, especially for the portions and quality of food we received. We were also given a complimentary dessert for our party of six, which was really nice. It’s not a cheap meal, but you very much get what you pay for. Highly recommend you come and try this place. Valentine roll, katana roll, sexy Nikko, tuna amazing, and fire island rolls are all incredible. Also the miso soup hits the spot every time.

Great Food & Affordable- Recommend

Have been here now 3 times over past 2 months, and all times the food was excellent and fast to come out. This time before dinner we tried an appetitizer of a dozen raw oysters on the half shell, simply succulent! Awesome seasoning. This place is not cheap, but the presentation of the dishes and especially the sushi makes it worth the trip. Highly recommend!!

Great food, staff, and ambiance!

The food and staff are wonderful. That said, the lighting is blindingly bright and a bit cold/artificial. I know they’re going for a modern vibe but warmer, lower wattage bulbs and less direct lighting would make a HUGE difference.

Great options for sushi … they have so many options. And also some for non sushi eaters! Their seaweed salad is amazing! We have been to their sister restaurant Kumo … similar options but this location has a better ambience ! Service was very good and quick

So glad we found this new Japanese restaurant! It is gorgeously decorated and clean inside. Service was excellent! Food was delicious and beautifully presented. We enjoyed the ginger salad, Chattanooga roll, Sexy Niko roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, and AK-47 rolls. We will be back for sure!

We've been in East Cobb two years, wondering if we'd ever find a sushi spot we LOVED. Well, it's NEW and everything we'd hoped for. Every bit of food we tried was not only delicious, but beautifully plated. Service was on point. Screens with football too!! Excited to frequent this spot!

A wonderful dining experience in East Cobb. Try it for yourself with ONE caveat though further down in this review. First the good. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service super friendly and appropriately attentive. They really did this place up right and it's great if you're dining alone at the bar. Most "sushi" bars (which this isn't exclusively) don't have TVs, a must for solo eating IMHO. This place does as per the accompanying phots. The appetizers (edamame and seaweed salad) were wonderful. The chicken fried rice was chock full of white meat chicken. The unagi was great as well; melted like butter. My ONLY complaint (and reason for 4 vs. 5 stars) was that the peppered tuna in the Angel Roll was super chewy. Maybe that's how peppered tuna "rolls" (get it?)? I like my tuna tender and this wasn't. Also a bit on the expensive side for dinner and no alcohol (2 people, two rolls, two apps and a plate; $78 with tip) but we will be back and I'll go with another sushi option or just stick with nigiri... Recommended.

This place is amazing. Everything we had was soooo good. The service was fantastic, especially our new friend Cherry who greeted us with a smile and made sure our dinner was perfect.

What a fantastic gem! We got the sushi boat for 4 because we were hungry and wanted to try everything, and everything was absolutely fantastic. Fresh, thick sashimi. The sushi nigiri had individually paired toppings and was so delicious. Prices are great too. Highly recommend you check out this place before it gets too packed. Service was also amazing despite only being a week old.
