Ordered a grouper sandwich, it was terrible, couldn’t eat it. Tough as leather, disgusting.

Meal too small for the price. Smallest 1/2 rack of ribs I ever saw.

Landy’s has been a welcoming and comfortable environment for my mom and I. Their waitstaff is absolutely amazing and talented outside their jobs here, with one incredibly beautiful waitress named Jaime who has won multiple awards for bodybuilding, and a waiter (Billy) being an internationally competitive Karaoke Singer! The chefs, preps, runners, hostesses, bartenders… everyone who works there make it a memorable experience. The owner, Andre, his wife, and his little son are so welcoming. Sweet family! If you’re seeking a “new” place with amazing food, Landy’s is for you… if you’re seeking a place where “everybody knows your name”.. it’s Landy’s. What a wonderful atmosphere! Three clear atmospheres to choose from… the amazing bar area with live music, the outdoor amazing patio dining, or indoor (my autistic grandson prefers the grey booths 😂) and… My 85 y/o Mom loves being known by all the wonderful folks there, and it makes me happy when she’s happy. 😃

Ate here in 2021 while visiting Englewood Beach and it was among my favorites. Recommended Landy’s to friends and they reported their experience was terrible. I didn’t want to believe it. Returned in September 2024 to find that much of the food was great, but the portion sizes and service were sub-par for the price. Particularly disappointed when a couple of us ordered a side of zucchini and it was replaced by green beans. Nobody asked if we wanted something else, they just made the substitution based on our asking if green beans were available for another member of our party while ordering. Worse, my wife ordered a shrimp in pasta dish that was $30 and had only 5 medium shrimp. When we complained, we were told they were “Jumbo Shrimp.” Not true, based on her 40 years of meat/seafood market experience. Very sad.

Disappointing. Menu looked interesting on line. Clam chowder, besides the miniscule cup, was very bland! Campbell's is better! My wife had the coconut shrimp, all 5 for $25! (Usually twice as many elsewhere for that price). The Cole slaw was tasteless. I had the stuffed flounder and that was a nice-sized portion and tasty. The server was as bland as the food. I doubt that we would ever try Landy's again.

This is such a nice, comfortable, restaurant. We were made to feel welcome and Jamie was a terrific server. Please do try the Asiago-Garlic Mashed Potatoes, they're fabulous! Chocolate Cake was a necessary finish to the meal, and it's enough ri share :)

Service, atmosphere excellent, our dinner server was friendly, outgoing and provided great service. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and clams. My wife ordered the brechetta with shimp.The chowder was very good. The clams looked like mini me clams. The shrimp were small too and salty. Our check amounted to about $75 plus tip. Granted, I had 2 beers and my wife had 2 drinks each but still pricey. We closed out and went to the bar to listen to the live music. The bartender did not appear happy when we sat down with our drinks. Not a place I would recommend nor one that we'll be revisiting.

Been twice and the worst food in town. Crabcake was anything but crab. Steak was tough and a poor cut of meat, and the prices were gourmet. Go somewhere else.

Old Florida sort of vibe. Amazing bartender. Sweet guy with braces. He is over the super attentive and an asset to the place for SUUURE! Went a couple of nights had an amazing experience. Had a mushroom app so so so good. I had a big seafood pasta dish-enough for 4 ate then whole thing. Friend had a lemony seafood dish-it was just ok. The next night had the grouper dinner-so so so good. Asked for bread was charged-silly in my opinion and not even good bread sort of cut up sandwich buns. I am old school and I think bread should come with a dinner and salad and be really good and be the the same caliber as the dinner. I am not into the dried up crusty bread thing that comes with. Cool new outside bar! Good job. Sit at the bar for great service!

Was our first time but won't be our last..going again this week before we leave to go home..Great choices Jamie gave us..love everything

If I could give zero stars I would..my husband and I are here on vacation and picked Landys for one of our last dinners while here. We made a reservation for 7:30 pm. We were quite excited after being seated and reading the menu. The place is very cute and clean. Our server was not the nicest and didn’t smile once. I ordered the 2 lb snow crab. Although it said it comes with a side of bread, I did not receive it. Out came 2 lbs of the WORST crab I have ever eaten. There was next to no meat, most legs were empty. It was mostly just boiling hot, salty crab water. Around 8:30, staff from the kitchen and hostess area kept walking past us and staring at us. They then started turning the lights off and kept looking at us! We spent $150 for the worst experience and food. I understand the place closes as 9, we were not rude and walked out of the place at 9:03. But staff just stared at us as we walked out and we needed them to unlock the door so we could exit. Then to top it off they had the doors open to the garbage area, causing us to do a million point turn to get out of the place. All while staff were standing in the parking lot watching. Please do yourself a favor and dont make the same mistake we did. I saw it was 4.2 stars but went on the reviews that said the place was excellent. I was so upset I didn’t even say anything. I will be calling tomorrow to explain our experience.

Tourist Trap: Our waitress was okay but didn't make us feel welcome. The food was terrible. Tables around us were complaining, but we thought nothing of it. Pictures on the website don't look like the plates they serve. The food tasted like store-bought/frozen seafood, not fresh. I felt sick after I ate. Staff kept trying to rush to our table. I'm unsure how other people give this restaurant such good reviews. I was appalled at how staff treated other guests to hurry them up. Word of advice: save your money and go elsewhere.

This is our third time dining here and it seems each time it’s more disappointing. For starters, after our server brought us drinks they simply walked away. Did not ask for an appetizer or meal order until they returned over 15 minutes later. Mind you, there is 20 people in the restaurant max. And throughout the 1.5 hour duration we were there, our server did not ask or offer a refill despite all our drinks being empty. We ordered the onion ring tower (left) and it was undercooked. The “breading” was raw dough. I’ve had better onion rings from Burger King. The bread that came as a side was bland and stale, and the same goes for the ceaser salad. I ordered the chicken Alfredo, no complaints it was alright. But, the toast that comes in the bowl is hard as a rock. If you manage to take a bite without breaking your teeth, it crumples into a million pieces. We also ordered the crab stuffed flounder. The fish was so raw that it’s still trying to find Nemo. This meal came with a side of scalloped potatoes (right). These didn’t even look like potatoes. It was watery between the layers and had as little flavor as the salad. Save your money. Our server did waiver the items off but still, this surely has to be a health hazard.

In its third ownership, Landy’s now sports a sleek interior of Florida aqua blue. Same lovely, attentive service while quality of the dishes seems lacking for the higher price point.

Been driving past this place for a couple years. Always looking for a place to eat, usually going to the same old restaurants, usually getting the same old thing. Well we finally decided to go inside and dine! The place looked nice, nicer than I imagined, and a lot bigger, too. They had a good amount of menu options! The seafood deviled eggs were good, not something I'd get again, but it's nice to experiment... very cool! The soup was ridiculous (in a good way). In fact, I might just go back for that next time. The main course. It was, eye opening. You go to this place, you go to that place, make stuff at home, it's the same food, just a little different. Some are better than others, etc, etc. This orange parmesan crusted fish with coconut rice, it truly tasted like something I've never eaten before! And that's an experience people need more of. Definitely plan on going back. The only thing I would recommend, if I was so bold to say, is to get heavy drinking glasses (or stainless steel if you like light), as well as thicker and heavy eating utensils. The premium feel adds to the experience.

Great lunch with friends! We started with yummy key west calamari and rum runners! My prime rib french dip was excellent with lime tequila slaw, I brought half home! My friends loved their softshell crab BLT and mahi mahi sandwiches. Thanks Landy’s…we’ll see you soon!!

Service was terrible. Hamburger was raw and I asked for well done.

We came to try Landys for our 50th Anniversary. No one spoke to us at the entrance for 5 minutes. We were seated and given menus and no one came to speak to us. I had a strange feeling from the start. Very unfriendly. We got up and left after 10 minutes . We won't be back.

Highly recommend, never disappointed when I visit, consistent and menu doesn’t break the bank! Great outside tiki bar with music most nights, sit back……relax the Florida way! Enjoy!

The food was amazing. We had 2 orders of the steamed clams and they were fresh and not a grain of sand!!! I had the shrimp Rockefeller my husband had the Orange Crusted Grouper and my daughter had the broiled scallops, all was delish!!! Highly recommend!!

We've lived in Englewood for over 20 years. No, we aren't old or snowbirds. We are locals. Anyway, we had never tried Landy's until tonight. We had a great time and the food was excellent! It has been fixed up beautifully!! They have a couple of really nice indoor seating areas as well as gorgeous outdoor areas (covered and uncovered). The bar was beautiful and the whole feel of Landy's was amazing. Rum runner was spot on! The food...absolutely delicious!!! We ordered the steak-tip fondue appetizer and the steak was delicious!! Cooked perfectly and lots of flavor! I had a chicken dish with coconut rice and a caesar salad and it was soooooo good! My husand got a killer salad and added a scoop of chicken salad on top. It was so fresh and good! We are super picky and have several restaurants "on the list" of places we'll never eat at again. Landy's is definitely NOT on that list. Definitely one of our new favorites! Cannot say enough!

We had the best bartender! Darian took fantastic care of us. This place needs more of folks like him. A hard worker who is honest.

Calamari was not done, grouper sandwich was so bad and tasted like it sat in fish water😡. Never go there again!

I've never been to a place that charges for bread. You have a choice, salad OR bread with your entree. I'm not sure why. Neither are that expensive. It's just another way to get more money from the patrons, I guess. And $10.90 for a slice of sub-par chocolate cake nahh. My linguini and clams were delicious, but it should've come with more than a tiny piece of bread to soak up all that goodness. The service was great!

Tonight my friend, dog and I went to Landy's for the first time while out doing something else. The Hostess was so welcoming of us all, Melonie, our waitress was fantastic. She new the menu right off hand, and they even brought my dog a bowl of water w/o asking. The food was delicious. It was so nice to go to a restaurant and have amazing, kind service. We will be back and highly recommend 😊

We experienced the well desired Savor Sarasota menu for lunch, and I must say that the lobster 🦞 grilled cheese was so delicious, in addition to the fried red snapper bites. The short rib tacos and the clam chowder were also very good. Kim, our server, was excellent and attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and made our dining experience very chill and comfortable. Thank you ever so much :-).

Great restaurant with excellent food and outstanding wait staff. We visited a little before closing yet they still provided us with an excellent meal and drinks. The food was absolutely delicious and the server, Julia, was outstanding. She checked on us just the right amount of times and ensured we were happy with our order. The best place to dine in Englewood.

Scalloped potatoes were uncooked, Service was terrible. Food was mediocre at best. Very disappointed won’t be back. Will stick to Farlows and Magnolia for waterfront dining in the Englewood area, The atmosphere is great to had the rest of the experience was not.

We dined in with a group of us ladies. The food was pretty good. Prices are reasonable for this area. Very nice atmosphere although being that it is small the ladies got a bit loud.

The fried shrimp were very small and were lacking in taste an texture. I spoke with the waiter and he sent the manager over. The manager just said sorry you didn't like it. Not only was the food disappointing, the canal behind the restaurant- the water view- was full of debris and smelled of sewer.

Go back there every year. Never disappointed

This restaurant is amazing! I had the Scallops and Shrimp Linguini Pan with the best sauce I've ever tasted! The Chicken Florentine Soup was the best soup ever! Hubby had prime rib, which was huge. We ordered the blue crab stuffed mushrooms, yummy! The waitress was super and checked on us often.

My husband took me here for Mother's Day dinner. We were both very disappointed. The peach Sangria tasted watered down with all the ice they put in it. I had a chivas scotch sour, that was mostly sour mix and ice. We both had coconut shrimp. You couldn't find the tails on the shrimp and I almost chocked on a tail, plus they were over cooked and had no taste. The garlic mashed potatoes were dry and so was the cole slaw, no sauce at all. The singer was very good. We both enjoyed him and his music. We use to love this place but after today we will not return. I could of made a better dinner at home for a lot less than $100.00.

Nice outside bar, not impressed with margaritas. The dinner was great and the outside seating was excellent. The lobster tacos were very good.

1 1/2 hours until we got our dinner. Honestly, I've never had such bad service at a restaurant. Food was mediocre at best. I remember when this was a good place for dinner. The bar outside seems like the best place to eat.

This was our 1st time to this restaurant and I will say it was great. The food, service, and atmosphere were exactly what we were looking for. My son enjoyed the fish and chips dinner, which the fish was Haddock, one of his favorites. I enjoyed coconut shrimp dinner with and orange marmalade dipping sause, and my husband enjoyed the oyster dinner. We also had calamari as an app. The food was excellent. My husband did have to send the oysters back the first time as they were way overcooked, but the waitress took care of it and brought an all new dinner to him. The service was excellent, the staff worked together and really would take care of you. And the atmosphere was perfect. We sat outside, and it was gorgeous with a nice breeze from the bay. We will definitely be back.

This is a wonderful place to eat. We found the food to be fresh and excellent! My husband had the crabby flounder dish, and I had the Mahi Mahi tacos. The atmosphere was nice as well. We went on a Monday at 2:00 p.m., and it was actually quite nice to be able to hear the conversation at our table. Too many times restaurants have music blaring so loudly. Our waitress was so sweet. We will return!

First time here. Food was great. Scallop po boy and fish n chips. Server was sweet and attentive. It was mid afternoon on a Sunday and most were sitting outside. Basically we were the only people in our section. Oh yeah the key lime pie was the BEST I ever had.

Ordered the jambalaya, it is not spicy at all and I would not recommend it to anybody that wants jambalaya.

The food here was terrible. First off let me start with the appetizer. I ordered the muscles and it was a good size portion, but they were cold, no flavor and rubbery. They arrived in a bowl of a bland soup concoction. The bread that was served with it was a joke. Very disappointed. The desert I ordered was 11.50 and wasn’t worth $5.00. Our group won’t be going back here anytime soon. The waitress who was just starting her first ever shift here was GREAT!

My husband and I came for the first time today for our Anniversary to have lunch. Very nice decor, loved the beachy theme. I ordered the Cherrystone clam steam pan and added linguine with shaved parmesean romano my husband had the reef basket which had fried flounder, shrimp and scallops with fries and cole slaw. The steam pan was delicious but had no shaved parm (didn't say anything) came with one very small piece of what was supposed to be toasted bread it was more or less crunchy from it being stale totally white not browned at all. It is the little details that count but I forgave because it was so good and lots of clams! My husband was not too pleased with the basket because there was no flavor absolutely no salt and plain bread crumbs would be much better batter dipped but only option with that is halibut which he didn't want, shrimp and scallops were good so were the fries. Had a cup of clam chowder too nothing to get excited about too many potatoes. 67.00 + for lunch a little pricey

We were seated at a table with a view of stacked chairs which stole the view of the street and the "relaxed atmosphere." The water is AWFUL!!!!! I asked for filtered water and was told this water was RO water, it even smelled bad. You are charged $3 for bread and it was served room temperature, if you are going to charge for bread you could at least warm it up. I don't recommend the bread. The calamari was good, large pieces with a fresh topping. I had clam chowder and being that this is a seafood restaurant I expected good clam chowder. It tasted like it was canned. I didn't eat it. It isn't hard to make clam chowder why wouldn't you serve fresh chowder? The orange crusted grouper was covered in soggy breadcrumbs that tasted like they were soaked in salt and fish sauce. It was so overpowering I didn't eat it but my husband did. It was served with three asparagus spears and rice. The only thing that tasted good off this plate was the rice. My husband had the seafood portifino and a Cesar salad. He liked the Cesar salad but the pasta was terrible, it tasted like cheap store bought boxed pasta he didn't eat it, he did eat the seafood portion. Some of the mussels tasted very fishy. The bread that came with it tasted like it was cut and sat out all day getting hard before it was served with the dish Nothing tasted fresh except the calimari. I read the reviews before dining here. I was disappointed my experience.

We had Mel T as our server and she was great. We sat outside in the patio but not the bar side which was great. My husband loved the deviled eggs! I had shrimp rockefeller it was also delish! We will make a point to go back before we head home. It gets busy so go early if you can.

The service went great, but the restaurants smelled Urine thanks char sis for a little cup of coleslaw five dollars. I didn’t even get two bites out of that. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. The service is good, but the food was nasty.

Took my family to Landy's after a day at the beach on Sunday. Restaurant was decorated beautiful, very comfortable. Service was excellent and food was great. I would absolutely eat here again next time I'm at the beach. Plenty of free parking and a really good, complete menu.

Waitstaff are wonderful! Food is unpredictable, menu varies from time to time, availability of menu items is also unpredictable. Went for prime rib twice now, and was informed that it was no longer available both times after we had already ordered it. Disappointing twice in a row. Had to change my order and was disappointed with my option. Overpriced food with disappointing results. Waitstaff are always pleasant and helpful.

Very good food and large portions and service was excellant

Four of us anxiously went to early dinner on April 10, 2024 at 4:45 PM. We have been there over the years but not in a few years since they sold twice. My husband ordered the fish with mashed potatoes and onion soup. I ordered a salad. The french onion was cold and the small slice of cheese was floating in the soup. The potatoes were stone cold so the waiter took them back to warm them up, The fish and the warmed up potatoes were luke warm. When the Manager came by to ask how our food was, we told him of our very disappointing dinners. Our dinner partners accepted the free desserts offered to them. My husband and I refused as we were very upset with the events. Whereupon this Manager advised us next time we order our food there, TO TELL THE SERVER THAT WE WOULD LIKE OUR FOOD SERVED H O T!!!!! We were appalled at his attitude and will N E V E R set foot in Landys restaurant ever again.

1st time at Landy’s. Ordered carry out for lunch. I Arrived on time. Had to wait 5 minutes because they said they were just boxing it up. Food was cold, salad pictured below was $6.50(my close up made it look large but it was small takeout box with only handful of spring mix and tomato, they gave no fork to eat it with.

Had the fish and chips. Very greasy. Waited for a drink refill for way too long. Like the atmosphere

I am from the Midwest and accustomed to the best corn fed beef. I have been in Florida now for several years and have exhausted my options to get a steak Close to what I am used to, however, today I had a 12 Oz ribeye from Landys. Not only was it well trimmed so that the fat was minimal, the quality, texture was exceptional. I can't express how happy I am. Only thing is I wish they had a baked potato option. Ron McGuire

We stopped here for dinner because we had a good experience on a previous trip. This one made us decide not to stop again. The food was good. Service was not. We ordered 2 dinners. Each came with 2 sides, plus a cup of soup, a side salad or a bread basket. We waited and waited. The salad and the bread did not come out ahead of time. They came with the meal. The side salad was mediocre at best. Simply romaine lettuce with shavings of parmesan cheese. No other veggies. Also our drinks were never refilled. (Iced teas). For the price of 2 dinners and 2 iced teas $68 the service should have been better and the quality of the side salad should be upped. Very disappointing.

nice location and great service. Disappointed with the short rib dinner on Easter, didn't have the texture of short ribs. Seemed like braised chuck roast.

Unfortunately our experience with the food wasn't what I expected last evening. The deviled eggs were delicious. I had the prime rib, wasnt the best I've had. I would give it a 5 out of 10. Salad was also good but sides were not great. My Lady had the NY Strip, same as mine just ok, again a 5. Her sides had better taste than mine but still not great. Lemmoncello cake delicious. For what the total bill was, we were disappointed. Music was excellent.

Prime rib was a little rarer than I like. Scalloped potatoes were good, rolls were like pizza bread very tasty. On the other hand the entertainment was rather loud and the gentleman should consider another venue.

Our server Jamie(?sp?) was phenomenal. Quick, efficient, and direct (I personally love these qualities). I know how busy she must have been(spring break). Now on to the really good food. I am a fan of flavor (be prepared), and I LOVED THE LIVER! Now I know you either love it or hate it. This is for those of us who love it. Get the liver. You will love it. If you don't, you are wrong. 🤫 Anyway, the rest of the table enjoyed their meals. Great atmosphere and live music, go have some good food.

Plenty of parking - fast service - great food!

As prices are going with inflation the quality of food or preparation not so good Calamari were mushy and fries were sogie, also the fish and cheaps dish bottom had a good amount of oil

We like to try new things when we go out of town. We ordered the seafood deviled eggs and they were absolutely amazing. Doesn't seem like something I would think to be that appetizing, but rest assured, they are! The coconut shrimp salad was also amazing. The quiet area in back was shady and relaxing. We were very happy with our early lunch experience at Landy's.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Server was kind and good, but there must’ve been a kitchen mixup because we got our food after people who were seated after us. I’d definitely go again. Everyone was pleased with their meals in my party.

A great first impression! My party and I all had a variety of items off the menu and everything was great. They have a quiet and secluded area outdoors and the servers were nice and just overall an underappreciated place with the 4.2 stars (at time of review).

The entrees were good, not great but good. The onion rings had potential but they were quite doughy and rather tasteless. The clam chowder seemed like Campbell's. The service was excellent, but a bit on the slow side. Yes it was busy but there were plenty of workers. The price for 5 of us including tip was just shy of $250 which is the biggest issue that would keep me from going back again.
