Food was ok. It's been better. I visit this spot frequently for a fast dinner on my way home. And I always ask for allot of honey. They have me 3 packs...

I stop there every Friday and I have never received bad food or service.

We drove through to pick up a couple dinners. We got home and started eating AND the food is excellent! I took the time to call and let them know. I got Jenny on the phone and told her how good the food is. She was happy to hear! Thank you Lees Chicken!!! Yummy

My husband and I just came through the drive-through for two biscuits today we usually come and get dinners maybe once a month but there was one girl in particular name Kelly off of the SW. College Rd. location that did an outstanding job above and beyond with her service, she’s an amazing worker it seems like And you guys need to keep her around more often!

The food was delicious I had chicken wings string beans mashed potatoes and coleslaw, delicious 😋. I can't place my hands-on my receipt probably threw it away but my server at the driver window was fantastic she serviced us and it was 20 minutes too closing time I had hot chicken because it had just been fried, I love the fact that we waited in our car and she brought it out the front door to the car The customer is service was great she was very pleasant and had a warm personality I will definitely go back and when I go back if she's there I will get her name.

Best Chicken Pot Pies and chicken meals.

I came here several times in 2023 specifically for chicken livers. They were always fried to order and a nice portion size, in a large paper "boat" (google "#500 paper boat for size or see similar container with burger/fries in pictures for reference) and delicious. This year when I got them, they were jammed into a small cardboard bowl (see picture) with a tightly fitted plastic lid. The new portion size was not even ⅓ of the former size - same price! No response from management. What a ripoff! $7.29 for a handful of livers?? What's worse? Getting the regular size ($5.49) and getting a puny bowl (see picture). Add to that the cover... Any fool knows that tightly covering freshly fried hot foods will result in a soggy, unappetizing mess. Who manages this store? Don't you care about the quality of your food, or the consistency of portion size? Totally disappointed and dissatisfied with the size, quality and lack of response by management. Edit: Seems that NOW they are interested in the problem (but not when I contacted them earlier. I will update after contacting them again). Update: after several unanswered emails and attempts to contact the local management I received 0 responses. I'm left to assume they don't care.

It took 25 minutes to get my 3 piece chicken order because they forgot it. Service was terrible. Chicken was OK. There are better and healthier choices.

I ordered a 3 piece chicken strip meal dipped in buffalo sauce with potato wedges coleslaw and a biscuit. The food that I got was delicious as always. I did not get the coleslaw and biscuit though. This is the second time in a month I was missing food from my order. I didn’t call and complain but I do wish they would get the drive through order right. This was an app order picked up at the drive through.

We normally have been visiting one of Lee's competitors (with probably the most name recognition in fried chicken). But since both of that brands restaurants that we have visited in the area basically get worse and worse. We decided to explore other options in fried chicken. As such, we visited this Lee's Famous in June, 2024. This Lee's is actually in a good location since there are no other competitors close by. Yes you could drive a ways up route 200 for other options. But this Lee's is somewhat alone to service the area. Lee's is located on the end of a small strip mall that it shares with other businesses. Lee's has a small outdoor area with a couple of tables if one desires, as well as a drive through window, for folks who prefer this convenience. We chose to visit by eating inside on a warm day in June. The inside is not large or fancy. It is your basic fast food style restaurant. There are tables in two sections on two sides. The center of the restaurant is basically the counter/kitchen area. We found the staff to be very friendly, welcoming us as we arrived. And it wasn't just us. They welcomed every person who walked into the store. We did need a minute to acclimate ourselves to the options. We both went with chicken strips. We chose two different meal sizes and sides. We found the chicken to be juicy and Krispy. We agreed that it was better than we normally would get at the big name competition somewhat near by. (not all that near by) I ordered mashed potatoes and she went with the wedges. We were trying to compare similar staples between Lee's and our benchmark brand. I realized after that one of us should have gotten a breast or something. Oh well. Anyway, I found the mashed potatoes to be about the same as the competition, pretty good. And I tried one of the wedges, that I figured would just be what I consider to be, seasoned steak fries. They were not bad, but nothing all that special to me. Next time I'd try some of the other sides to see how they are. When it was all said and done, we found and verified via the competitions web site, that although not exactly the same dishes, we are sure that Lee's was less expensive than the bench mark we used. Not substantially in our case, but definitely less expensive. I don't know if Lee's hits you with an extra charge for things like all white meat (when you're ordering just two breasts) like the competitor. But so far, I like what we experienced at this first visit to a Lee's Famous. What we found was a somewhat more convenient location for us. Followed by a friendly staff who made us feel welcome the whole time we were there. Food that we found to be of better quality and prices than our regular bench mark competition. We were pleased with our experience. Although it's not five star dining, it's pretty good for what I would consider fast food. They did merit probably a better rating than four stars. But they do have some draw backs to prevent that. So consider it 4.5 stars. Better than the bench mark competitor in our opinion. We no longer will drive farther for the inferior experience we have been getting at the bench mark competition.

We stopped in while we were in Ocala yesterday. Everything was good till the kid who took our order brought the food over to the table and dropped one of the sauces off the tray and onto the floor. Okay cool replace it no problem..... No, that ain't what happened at all. He picked it up off the floor and put it on my table next to my food!!!! Seriously who the heck does that? Smh

Foods excellent, people are great, and there was almost a fight in the store. Honestly, best experience I have ever had in a restaurant.

First time here and gotta say, we were not disappointed. Food was good but I wish I ate the country fried steak quicker. I would go back here. Pretty good prices too compared to other fast food spots.

My husband saw a post on media about Lee’s and we went to check it out. We ordered the three and two piece chicken strip meals. One with potato wedges and the other with baked beans. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken strips were fresh, tasty and moist. The potato wedges tasted amazing. They were crunchy on the outside and light me a. Baked potato on the inside. The seasoning was just perfect. I was not a fan of the baked beans…they were a little too weird looking for me. And I did not care for the taste at all. Did not taste like your regular baked beans. They had some red little pieces in them, just not what I expected. Next time I’ll order coleslaw or green beans. Their deserts were oh so good! We will definitely come back.

Wow! First time visiting Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken while on vacation, and we truly enjoyed it for a dinner. The chicken, biscuits, and mashed potatoes were all cooked to perfection. We enjoyed every part of our delicious meal from Lee's. If you like KFC, you'll definitely like Lee's significantly better. I'd consider Lee's way better than its competitors out there. Lee's beats them all by flying numbers. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, along with willing to provide advice for some frequently ordered meals at Lee's. We definitely look forward to coming back to Lee's on our next visit to the Sunshine State. Keep up the EXCELLENT work Lee's!

Meh. Personally, I prefer PDQ, Chick-fil-a or even KFC... the chicken breading is underseasoned and flavorless, their potato wedges were soggy on the outside and the inner potato tasted almost raw - put them in my airfryer as they were almost inedible and they were better but again, mostly flavorless. Their Biscuits were good but I'm not going to a chicken place for Biscuits. Overall, I was not at all impressed and it's definitely overhyped in their advertisements.

Went to this place for years would always give them 5 stars on everything. Today however I seen a HUGE change and not for the good. I ordered the 3 PC snack it contains a leg, thigh and breast it took 20 minutes for us to get our food and the lady brought me a wing , leg and thigh i very nicely said I ordered the leg, thigh and breast and her response was ughh, she took the thigh off and gave me the breast brought it back and said next time tell me you want the breast it's a dollar more. I had the receipt showing I paid the higher price for the breast. To top it all off the wing was BAD I mean bad I had to spit it out nasty taste in my mouth nasty smell of the chicken was skeptical about the other pieces had to smell them before eat. . I will give them 5 stars however on their biscuits. But today t hey were all new faces and the manager I never seen her before. Poor service will lead to a business going under good luck with that...

I went in the Lees off Hwy 200 in Ocala today, and I got the large size potato wedges, along with some dinner for later. Those wedges are out of this world GOOD!! They were fresh & hot too. The lady who took my order was super nice & she even came outside to tell me she saw the back of my leg bleeding. Now THAT is service!! I love their food & of course I will go back for more next time I am in Ocala!!

Horrible experience last time. Wife ordered a breast combo at 7pm and it must of either been old from lunch or twice fried which are both unacceptable. I tried a bite after she was turned off and it was pure chewy rubber and outside was dark brown(twice fried?) and not golden. Consistemcy is the key to good eateries and return business. This has failed and we will not be back any time soon! Edit 6/20/22: Place is famous for it's fat/meaty breast strips. Me and the kid go to split a 5 piece to get stuffed. Guy cooking asks if we'd be willing to wait 10 mins. to cook more. Sure..fresh is better right? It appeared that he tried to speed up the process by slicing 2 large strips in 1/3's to get 5 cooked faster. They were so small that I dare say a puny Zaxbys tender would have been bigger..what a rip off to not get what we should have and at these elevated prices. Where's the manager reply on this one. Must be the truth huh?

Updated review 2/2024: my husband and I went back today because we hadn't been in a while. I was surprised to see that the whole crew were new except for 1 person. Everyone in the dining room could hear I guess it was a team leader or manager talking very loudly to the employees. Discussing things that should have been talked about in the privacy of an office. Every time a customer come in you could hear him saying okay now quality service. I was shocked that the food had changed! The fries were overcooked and under seasoned! They were actually crunchy! I asked for the spicy chicken and was giving I guess the original recipe! I ordered green beans as my side because the greens green beans are always well seasoned. To my surprise the green beans this time did not have any seasoning!!! My husband ordered a chicken sandwich and the bun was very cold! The Ice Tea was still good, and the bathroom was clean. I hope that he will show the same enthusiasm to improve the food!! It was disappointing to see that Lee's food that we knew was no longer there. That is why I am changing my rating from 5 stars to 2. Older review from 2023: Went there a few minutes before lunch, and we received our food shortly after ordering. I ordered the 3 piece spicy Chicken with wedges, and Green beans. Chicken was juicy and crispy. Potato wedges and Green beans had so much flavor! Iced Tea is made just right. Tried an Apple pie for dessert and was not disappointed! So much flavor in that pie! It started getting crowded, and the line was backed to the door. Employees had it under control, so the line was moving quickly. This was nice to see in a Restaurant. Great food and service.

The food was Luke warm at best. Soggy potato wedges. Chicken sandwich had WAY to much mayo. Lady in the front, wasn't all there. It wasn't a pleasant experience.

I ordered a 12 piece spicy chicken with three sides, the chicken was cold, and it was not the spicy chicken, first time in two years I’ve had a bad meal here the sides were good, and the biscuits were excellent. Don’t know what happened with the chicken, but it was lousy. Paid almost $50 for this meal with the four extra biscuits that I got, do you think honestly I’ll come back and spend $50 for cold chicken…NO!!!!!!

1st and last time going to this place. Lady from drive through was very sweet, but she looked dirty (as if her uniform wasn’t washed in days). Food was not good. - Soggy fries - Chicken Sandwich is not what they advertise , does not taste right & barely came with sauce. - Sweet tea was watered down. I was so excited to go there at first but I left so disappointed, that I will never go back, even if it was free.

Passing thru Ocala and saw a Lee's. Haven't seen one in many years since the ones closed in Jacksonville, FL. Liver were over done, chicken perfect.

I like the chicken strips and chicken pot pie. Love their biscuits. It got a bit pricey, but then again, inflation is crazy.

We walked in and the restaurant smelled like urinal cakes (guys will know). Why a restaurant smelled like pee is beyond me, no fried smell, just pee cakes. The lady behind the counter ask for my name, mind you im still just looking at the menu in the piss cake smell. I said Daniel, she responded with, "I'll call you Dan". I said, no, thats not my name". It's not a big deal, it just seems like every transplant around here doesn't pay attention or they think they're big city attitude is going to fly down here. We walked out. Not today urinal cake lady.

Asked for take out, 2 piece breast, and wing with green beans and pork and beans. After a 15 minute drive home I open the package an have drumstick and thigh, don’t much care for dark meat. I was not going to drive 1/2 hours to to get it right. Will start checking my orders from now on, it is sad that I can’t trust them to get the order right! SMH

Stop here off a whim after seeing an advertisement on the interstate to try the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. I'm glad I did because honestly I think it's the BEST chicken sandwich I've ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was just hot enough that I needed a break to let my mouth cool down but too good not to just keep going back in. 10 out of 10 for sure! 🤤

I recommend supporting Lees Famous Chicken Lees has the best tasting chicken. BUTI have noticed they are serving smaller pieces, must be buying smaller chickens. They charge a premium 3 piece dark meat no sides $2.33 per pieces.

OMG! What a difference one visit makes... last time my order was screwed up...no biggie. I just received the absolute best chicken livers I have tasted in my life...nice and firm on the outside and soft on the inside. I ordered 3 side items and what was supposed to be hot...was hot! The slaw was nice and cool. If you are going to one of those big chain conglomerates, you are missing out! You gotta try Lees... I'm from the true south and I am utterly amazed at how well their food tastes. So to my 5M followers and viewers, get off your butts and go get you some Lee's.I doubt you will be disappointed!!! Going back today for more livers...Boy, my cardiologist is going to be ticked! 😂

Good chicken and OK sides with limited dessert options. The apple turnover is probably the best of the dessert options. Tasty, flaky and good filling.

Well chicken strips been cooked and put under heat lamp made them hard dry and tasteless like gas stations chicken been sitting all day! My potato wedges were soggy under cooked ! The plus side biscuit was good..... Yeah definitely won't get stripes again....The customer service was wonderful why I gave three stars

This was my first time trying this restaurant the food was very tasty . They have pretty decent prices on their combos.

First, we waited 15 mins for the chicken that would be ready in 6 minutes. Then the chicken was luke warm with half the breading falling off, dry bland Mac and cheese, dry hard biscuits, the only good thing was the Cole slaw. All for THIRTY ONE DOLLARS for a 10 piece meal? Outrageous! Well will not be back. Serves me right for going to a Lee's outside of St. Louis...

It's a great quick place to grab a bite. It's clean and the workers are wonderful. The atmosphere is ok for a fast food place.

Bought a family meal 1 hour before closing. To go. Mistake. All thighs and a couple of breasts. No wings or legs which we both like. Potato wedges were all stuck together and not crispy. Didn't want to drive back. We won't be back

The food is fantastic but was very disappointed with the drive thru. We were missing one side and we were given the wrong chicken. I ordered strips and the receipt said strips but were given whole pieces.

I love Lee's chicken , is moist is delicious also the mash potatoes..and the Macaroni salad..but then now they don't serve Macaroni salad!! Why oh why..was one of my favorite sides beside the mashed potatoes..and the service is A+!!!

By far the best fried chicken around. It puts KFC to shame in taste and portions. Popeye's is overpriced too small in pieces, too bland in flavor. It's a shame that this unit is not a stand alone. Seating and parking lacking at this location.

My family and I eat at Lee’s at least once a week. We have had wonderful experiences with Lee’s and we always get their 18 piece bucket of chicken strips, even when it’s only the 4 of us because we really enjoy warming up in the air fryer or eating cold. We love all of the sides…all of us have a favorite, and with the 18 piece bucket, you get 5 sides, so that’s a big plus. Everything is home cooked and we all love it. Now…this is Me: age; 80, my Husband: age, 81, Son:age, 55, and Granddaughter: age, 16, so we have a variety of ages and everyone enjoys Lee's Chicken. When we have company, it’s a favorite also of all of our friends and Family members. You can’t beat Lee’s for customer service also.

I would give them a five star, but sometimes my chicken livers are over cooked, or not fresh-or, there is barely any breading on them. Truthfully when we go here that is all I eat. We also get a bucket of chicken-with the three sides since my husband loves there chicken, and half gallon sweet tea. Other than that the staff is friendly, order is never messed up. Although prices are high! Then again EVERYTHING IS HIGH!!! Overall I would recommend!

Way to much money! Chicken strips used to be really good, now they are so small it feels like only breading. Plus they raised the price! So give us smaller pieces and increase the price without warning. :( It's a shame, because we went there at least once a month... won't be back.

This place used to be tops! I eat there at least twice a week, the past 2 months their chicken breast #6 have been small dry and mostly fried batter! Highly disappointing.

They have increased their prices and give you only very thin small pieces of chicken that are more breading than chicken. Paid $57 for 16 chicken tenders and sides. We love Lee’s chicken, but won’t be back if this is how it’s going to be.
