My husband and I having been coming to this restaurant for awhile now. The service is always a hit or miss. Most of the time we notice certain waitresses catering to the older crowd which also happened tonight. Our Sicilian pizza came out burnt (black) on the corners. Our waitress just sat it down and left so we decided to eat it as we don’t like to send anything back and plus we waited for a bit for the pizza and we were hungry. The bottom of the pizza ended up being burnt as well. My husband ate because he was incredibly hungry. I managed the one piece bc I’m a type 1 and I absolutely needed to eat but had no desire to eat more. As I’m paying up front I ask the gentleman if they had changed cooks (thinking it may have been an off night) and tell him why when he asks. He’s explaining to me that the pizzas are supposed to be checked before being sent out. Well our waitress comes over and instantly cuts in about how the pizza wasn’t burnt and how we didn’t bother saying anything and it’s too late now to do anything etc..etc… pretty loudly. I wasn’t even speaking to her nor was I trying to get a free meal. I had already in fact paid. I just wanted it to be known how our pizza came out to us and thought maybe someone just had an off night. I won’t be back thanks to this waitress. Not everyone is out to get everyone. I don’t send food back and I’m going to pay for what we ate bc we were hungry and I’m a Type 1 diabetic- I needed to eat. If the pizzas were being checked ours would have never been sent to the table. Word of advice, don’t be condescending to someone who was genuinely only asking a question. Kindness goes a long way and our world needs more of it.

Horrible food called to tell them that one of ours is bad and the lady was rude. Told me bring it back in this pouring rain when I got home and they would replace it forget it. I will just throw it away check your food before you leave it is nasty and deli nasty

I have lived here for 14 years steadily going to lil Joey's, the past few times we have ordered we have been displeased. Subs salad and pizza have gone way down hill. The fired mushrooms today were by far the best but the sauce was burnt. The peperoni they are using us way low quality and mini (who does that) way to show you're trying to cut cost. It will be a very hard decision on weather to eat there again. It's such a shame because they were top tier in this house. Definitely a "damn I don't feel like cooking" last resort order place from here on out.

I don't know what's happening, but the food quality has changed. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo on my last visit and I was highly disappointed. The noodles were overcooked and the chicken was gross. I left the whole thing on the table. My family and I would have dinner there at least once a week for the last year but I don't think I'll be going back...

This is a fairly good place for pizza down here in Florida. I prefer thin crust pizza.

Visited here yesterday and ohmigosh the garlic knots!! The pizza tastes better than it looks. I'm glad I kept an open mind. They have a hefty serving size of the salad. The chicken that topped the salad looked so good!

Love the food... Have to bump my review down due to service. Called to place pick up order. Was asked if they could put me on a brief hold. Said sure. After a few minutes decided just to head that way. Didn't want to hang up and call again as it took me several minutes to get through due to busy signal. When I got to the counter was greeted and then showed my phone and said "I think you still have me on hold" She said "sorry we were busy". Placed my order and sat at table in front to wait. After a few minutes at least she was nice enough to ask if I'd like something to drink. White waiting another customer was picking up an order and mentioned to the girl that her soup and salad were missing from her prior order. Maybe take out isn't a good idea here!

Excellent Italian food and the service is excellent too. I highly recommend them.

We went out for Chinese food, but they were closed so we thought we try the pizza at little Joey's. Everyone was telling me how great little Joey's pizza was and how close it was to NY style pizza. I don't know what part of NY these people where from, but the pizza there at little Joey's was so-so to Florida average pizza. I get my pizza from 2 other places, and they would put little Joey's to shame. The pizza dough was tough and over cooked even though when we looked inside it looked like we may have found a place closer. Nope! I rather drive further for much better pizza then to eat there again. I rate little Joey's pizza to Dominos, Papa John's and Marco's. Just a fast-food type of average pizza that isn't worth my time and money. Try either Sammy's or Pronto's pizza you won't regret it.

I've been going to Little Joey's since around 2004.. In 2010, I moved to GA, then AL, and anytime we go to Florida, a must stop is Little Joey's! We have visited many Italian restaurants from the east coast to the west coast and not one has compared to Little Joey's! I always call a day or two ahead so Vicky can have a gallon of house dressing ready for us to take home. Vicky has always been an awesome waitress and it's like seeing an old friend when we walk in the doors:)

The worst! Meatball sub had no Italian sauce. The chicken Alfredo had no Alfredo sauce. I would post pictures but I don't have that option

Only issue so far is they give u this calzone with ONE TINY SOLO CUP (2 OUNCES ) OF SAUCE WITH IT! REALLY???!? COMMON PEOPLE A LARGE CUP WOULDN'T KILL YA.

I have always loved Little Joey’s food, frequently order their meatball sub but we decided to go with pizza this time, I was extremely disappointed. I did not like it at all, it was so dry and gummy. 😞

Excellent pizza. Which is pretty rare in Florida. I think the humidity makes it difficult to get the dough right. This pizza has a light and crispy crust that's delicious and their sauce is very tasty. Those 2 things can make or break a pizza.

Had to delete my previous review and redo it. They must have had a bad night the first time. Everything has been great since then. Good italian dishes, great pizza! The staff is friendly. The decor remids me of an olf typical Joisey pizza joint but to see the pizza coming out on the high platter with chesse dripping is a memory of the old days.

Food is delicious. Service is good. Had chicken parmesan with angel hair pasta. You will definitely leave with leftovers. I recommend this restaurant.

First time eating at Little Joey's. Waited 20 minutes for wait staff to come by and offer a beverage . I finally got up and went over to a service station to ask someone there for a glass of water. I explained that we'd been waiting with no service. Her response was that they were "busy". No apology offered. Food orders were finally taken. After another wait - the food arrived cold. No one at our table of 10 had hot food. Won't be visiting Little Joey's again.

It's in an old plaza and a bit dated on the inside, but the pizza and garlic knots are excellent. Vary friendly waitress.

Get place to eat. Love the Pizza

I have given them high marks before but I don't know what happened. Ordered the veal parm and the linguini pescatore to go. First off the to go containers were metal and plastic. If you sit hot metal on plastic then the lower dish top melts. The seafood in the pescatore was rubbery and old. We had ro toss it in the trash with fear of getting sick. And look at the salad..4 pieces of lettuce one cucumber and 1 slice of tomato. Did the quality drop because you have more patrons? Something is different. If you look at my other review my experience was way better. I think I will have to look elsewhere for carryout. Both dishes were subpar.

Very disappointed.This place was recommended by a friend and we went specifically for the pizza.I wish I had saved the money and went to Wawa just up the street. Our pizza was the Sicilian Meat Lovers and it was one of the higher priced menu items here.Thus, the expectations were high.We were looking forward to a thicker,chewy crust and plenty of great toppings in tangy, snappy sauce.Somewhere in Ocala,somebody got just that,but it wasn’t us and it wasn’t here. What we received was a rectangular carbon blob that was possibly cooked in a blast furnace or a fully functional atomic reactor. It was so overcooked that I couldn’t cut the crust with my knife.The toppings were okay, but were not in any way special or flavorful.They too, were black from overcooking and that also dried them out considerably,so a lot of them ended up in our laps instead of our mouths.The sauce was straight from a can or jar,but its relationship to fresh tomatoes has to be considered mere rumor. There’s no value proposition at this place. No fresh bread, no appetizer rolls,no complimentary anything.You sit down, order and wait for your food.We did get drink refills while waiting,so the evening wasn’t a total bust.Our servers were cheerful,but overworked, so its probably best to know what you want before you go.If you order takeout pizza,you may want to quality check it before you leave.If your order is as burned as mine, you’ll have to call another pizza place to deliver an edible dinner. I hope your experience was better than mine.I didn’t try the pasta,and maybe that is their best work, but I would (as mentioned) go to Wawa and get a pizza before I would go here again.

They aren’t prepared for their current demand. Furniture is falling apart. Food is cooked fast and/or at very high temperatures. The result is overcooked items & not good pizzas after they “fix” them, because dough rose and toppings slid off. But if you are in for a tiramisu, bread and butter; this is your place to go! Oh, and don’t show up too hungry, service is reaaally slow here…

Their food was amazing. Honestly all 5 dishes we ordered we are extremely delicious! They were reasonably priced, had good service and we will definitely be going back!

Best Italian place in the area, I’ve tried the pizza and the lasagna. Marvelous! If you go on a busy time, please be patient because they aren’t fast. But at the end, this isn’t a fast food place. It will be worth it, food is awesome and reasonably priced.

Fish and chips...... All burnt fish batter with just mushy fish inside. Battered fries, barely warm. No refill offered. Very disappointed 🤑

I like Joey's. It's a good casual Italian pizza and dinner spot that's usually consistent. I don't think the food and pizza are the absolute best but certainly good enough to keep going back for when you're not looking to overspend. All the staff are friendly and hard working which is important for a good experience. I definitely recommend trying Little Joey's.

OMG!! The food was incredible! If you like the Italian taste this use the spot. This one or the one in the villages, it does not matter. Yum yum. I would highly recommend you anyone.

I called for a pickup order 2 hours prior to my needed pickup time. When I got there, my order had not been started, and would not have been until after I brought it to their attention. I waited approximately 20 minutes for my two pizzas. No offer of a discount for the late service, no response from manager or shift leader. Nothing. Won't be visiting them again any time soon.

Lived here forever and just never had got to try this establishment until yesterday, and now I only ask myself WHY? Its absolutely fantastic and will be my new spot keep up the good work!

I picked up a white pizza added bacon and onion. Loved the crust and the garlicky butter taste. Best non-tomatoey pizza I've ever had. We are new to the area but now know my pizza place. Will have to check out some other items too. Nice lady at counter too.

Close to a Jersey City pizzeria but I live in Florida

OMG, the chef's salad was amazing! It was exactly what I was looking for! Everyone who was working had smiles and enthusiasm. They were welcoming and friendly. Very refreshing! Husband said his pizza was very good as well, but he stole some of my salad, too!

This review is based upon a takeout experience only. Dining in may be a different experience. So basically, I ordered a pizza to go. Little Joey's is a little tight inside, but not drastically so. Pick up at the counter in the rear was not bad. The staff were friendly and I was on my way quickly. The pizza itself is now the second pizza that I consider good. It being a New York style, I found it good with decent crust and taste. It's not quite NY pizza, but it's pretty good. I have now found two restaurants that make good NY style pizza. The price seemed reasonable for the product. Yes anyone would like it less expensive. But little Joey's didn't seem over priced by any means. As such, I gave Little Joey's five stars because they actually make a decent pizza in Florida. It's great that I now have two places to get decent pizza in the area. I now need to find the time to try out a sit down meal.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Ocala area. 1st time we tried this place. We werenot disappointed. The food is great, and the staff is awesome. A definite must-try when you are in the area.

Why can’t anybody in FL do a simple steak and cheese and not mess it up?!?! I lived in the Northeast for my whole life and ever since I’ve come here can’t even find a decent steak and cheese except maybe Jersey Mike’s and they’re not even that good ……… dry tasteless meat dry tasteless sub rolls, way too much cheese….. I got fried chicken on top of the salad and that was disgusting. It was those frozen patties and I wonder if it was really chicken

Was looking forward to coming here. Food was good. Pasta Fazool wasn't what I expected.

Food is always delicious. This small place is always packed when we’ve gone there which tells you how good it is. On our latest visit our waitress, Sara, was the most amazing and efficient waitress I’ve ever encountered. We’ve ordered many different items and all were awesome. Ocala has more restaurant options than most places I’ve been, but this one is definitely worth checking out. I’ll be back every time I’m in the area.

Sub was ordered light mayo and was served with mayo dripping all over. The inside could use some updating from the holes in the seats to the ceiling vent ready to fall out.

I'm new to Florida and have tried many pizza places. BUT Little Joey's was the best. Something to say from a NJ girl.

Wow. This place knocked my socks off. Very welcoming and friendly staff, amazing food of which we ordered a lot, and excellent variety on the menu. Keep up the great work. We were visiting my Pops who is a regular and said we had to get it for dinner. We were all full and very pleased to say the least. *Updated review 9/8/23, ordered a ton of food for the family on a Friday night. They had it ready for pickup with no issues. Food was amazing as always when we visit Ocala. You guys rock and I'm sorry for the big order on a Friday night!!

I love love love this place. The young woman at the counter took my order and even brought it out to me since she knew I was exhausted. Amazing people and the food is just as terrific. I highly recommend this place!

Drug hubby out for spaghetti last night & went to Little Joeys. Hadn’t been there in some time. Seated rapidly after being greeted immediately upon entering. I’d been craving spaghetti so ordered the spaghetti & meatballs which was on the Monday special for $8.99! Husband ordered the calamari app & added the spaghetti with meatballs as well. Now, our server was delightful, very friendly, attentive. Unfortunately, the calamari was very chewy & the spaghetti sauce very dark & acidic. Meatballs were good (2 nice size with the order of spaghetti). My husband will eat almost anything, always saying there’s no bad food just some better then others…he prefers the calamari at another Italian restaurant nearby as it has never been tough like that & they include cherry peppers in the mix. He also felt the sauce was not impressive. This said, neither was inedible just not all that enjoyable. I will tell you that we did not say anything to our server about the calamari, reasoning was that it appeared by color to be cooked properly, just was darned tough calamari. The sauce, I felt was an issue of personal preference and not something to make an issue of. I prefer a sweeter, less acidic sauce & know where to go for that. It is nice that they do offer choice of soup or salad with the meal which was very nice & bread was yummy, warm.

Gave us wrong beers and meals were 3.00 more than they on line .

Little Joey's is our go to for anything Italian. We appreciate their daily specials and their friendly staff. We haven't found a lot of restaurants we like in Ocala but LJ's is certainly at the top of our list! 🍕

I love Little Joey's...they make to order pasta puttenesca for me and it is heavenly.

Take out special of sausage and peppers with penne pasta. The penne pasta was good but it did not have much sauce and the amount of sausages as well as Peppers was very minimal

Tuesday evening we really enjoyed the pizza. They were very busy, so there was a little wait. The pizza was absolutely delicious

Reasonable prices, friendly staff and good food. Joey's is one of our go to restaurants. Their servings are very generous and always go home with leftovers. Update: as usual another great meal at Little Joey's. This restaurant is very popular and busy at certain times, so come with your patience it is worth the wait. The staff is always welcoming.

Last time there, middle of the Pandemic. Stromboli, a sandwich and a loaded pizza, $49. Everything was great as ussual, except the price. Years back $49 could get me brand new exhaust for my Harkey-Davidson

Follow me here I swear this rant has a point. I'm a foodie so if you hate eating skip me. The tiramisu was awesome. It's my favorite dessert and I tend to be a bit picky. I've had the worst few months. It's like some evil energy or force came down on me and ruined all my gears perfectly oiled system. Just to show you how down in the dumps, how far down rock bottom I am check this out. On my last semester of my AA and I got. 78.55% which for the career I want is a failing grade and I need to go through a remediation program if I ever want to see a return on the thousands of dollars I put into this dream. Plus, I won't get to start working in my dream field until after 2023 is over. I quit my favorite job hoping I could bring my grade up above an 80%. Left standing with the disappointment of failure as I watch my cohort go forth and I get to feel like a failure. Then I saw Little Joey's. I have wanted to stop into Little Joey's for almost 3 years but I'm always too busy. Therefore, while I sat at rock bottom contemplating what I'll do next. I decided to kick my kale salad and boiled seaweed soup to the curve. I ordered tiramisu and a cup of pasta figoli. The pasta figoli was good. I have loved tiramisu my whole life. However, this place made me feel like it had that mom and pops flavor. Maybe it was my sadness. Maybe it's actually home made. All I know is that I felt a little less scared of this big thing called life and I felt like the tiramisu was just right. The atmosphere was nice too. Homey and sweet. Made me think someone is making their dreams come true. Anyway, I like this place. If you have patience for busy servers dealing with people and remember that they only have two hands then you will love this place. If you're entitled and think the world revolves around you and that people can grow 5 arms and split in half at rush hour then you won't be happy anywhere that gets busy and that's not these servers fault. Last couple times eating in took me an hour to get a pizza

Good food and prices. The place is a little old looking inside could use some renovations but the food is good and service is good. Prices are fair compared to others in the area. Update 3.29.23 I have been going to this place for years however lately the food hasn't always been cooked properly, sometimes the pizza is overcooked and most recently the salad was half it's normal size. When I call in orders the women have been a bit rude. 8 understand they can be busy at times but I always leave a tip even for pick up orders. I hope the owner reads this and improves these issues.

What has happened to this place?!!! Previously I've written glowing reviews but for the 8 months there are people working that I've never seen and the food is HORRIBLE! I asked if there were new owners a woman told me she's been working there 15 years. I went in 1 - 2 times a week and I had never seen her. IDK what is going on but would advise you just cook at home.
