For the best lobster roll? THIS PLACE! GO HERE!!!

Came in hoping to try the lobster but they put very little lobster and a lot of bread which I don't eat. And even this I had to eat standing up, since there were no seats and the place was very small and it was inconvenient to eat.

Lobster Roll was delicious and wonderful

Best Lobster Roll I ever had and I had many! I don't remember the owners name but what a really nice guy, had a few conversations over a few days. Fantastic!!

We were really looking forward to trying out their out their lobster roll and melt. We were on a short trip but had missed this place several times in past due to being closed. We were super excited to catch them open. So we had a group with us and were planning to order at least 4 meals and probably drinks. Would have been over $200 with tip probably. But as we we're ordering we told no outside drinks by young lady behind counter. Which makes total sense if it was alcohol. One of us had water, some had cold coffee, and a hot coffee & again no alcohol. Unfortunately because she kept saying no drinks we left. Went to another lobster roll location on other end of the island and walked in with our same drinks and was served politely with NO mention of us not being able to place orders. You may want to rethink your policy, as on a hot day people may have drinks with them. Maybe could have taken order and said i can do take out but can't sit in with own drinks or update to NO alcohol can be brought into the establishment rule. You lost out on over $200 in food purchase, for some $4 coffees. Are you saying if we would have had kids with us and they had juice pouches we wouldn't be served? Rules.may need to be rethought. I could not find any other restaurants we visited during our time in key west after spending thousands in food and drinks during our visit that said you will not be served for bringing in a regular beverage. Maybe no alcohol sure, makes sense. Sad wishing we could have tried! Nobody was bullied, we just left after being told our coffee wasn't allowed. Glad we didn't have kids with their juice pouches.

We visited today around lunch time and were refused service from the young girl at the register. There were four of us and because I had a coffee, she would not take our order. She informed us your policy was no outside drinks. I showed her I had just a few swallows left and she repeated the policy and wouldn’t take our order. She was smug and quite frankly, rude. Asking a patron to leave over a few sips of coffee was over the top.

Okay...3rd year in a row coming to the Lobster Shack. We always order the Key West Roll which has a hint of lime juice and is buttery. I ordered 2 of these rolls today to go, and was so upset when I opened the box to find 2 rolls full of lobster smothered and covered in mayonnaise. I don't eat mayonnaise. Hubby ate both rolls so we wouldn't literally throw away $60. I should have checked the order before I left but I was told to wait outside even though there were tables inside. Sorry but I am not going back.

Our second time here, it's just as amazing as the first time!

We really enjoyed our lunch at the lobster shack. The lobster rolls were delicious, fresh and loaded with lobster. My husband got the Diablo! Perfect combination of spicy and sweet with butter on the side. We may go back tomorrow. Nice little table hidden to the side of the building outside was perfect.

Remaining unbiased and reposting original review despite owner replying with outdated personal info from a Google search as a scare tactic. Foods’ portions did not match price and overall customer service interaction was cold. Tried twice with different food choices due to many raving reviews.

Overpriced and poor customer service. Staff impatient with me about the menu and even served me something I didn’t order. Absolutely real review, facts about my visit June 26, 12:45 pm group order for 6. A person named Kate was not apart of that group.

A little expensive for what it offers in a very small place

The man who served us the food was excellent. He was very friendly and kind. The dining area is small but cozy. The lobster sandwich was underwhelming, to say the least. In my opinion, it was a waste of perfectly good lobster meat. It was flavorless and lacked even the basic seasonings of salt and pepper. The mayonnaise was bland. The bread was the only pleasant part.

Best lobster roll, totally worth the money!

We were lucky to have these lobster rolls and grilled cheese with lobster next to our resort and they were delicious.

Food was good service was even better!!! The only gripe is they don't serve warm or hot lobster...it's all chilled. It's still good, though.

We came on the recommendation of TripAdvisor, the food is delicious, but the service is terrible!! You arrive without knowing anything, they don't explain the menu to you, they kicked us out of a table because there were two of us. I think it is worth improving the attention since it is a tourist place. The food is exquisite but I think they should improve their customer service.

The lobster roll was amazing! We had to stop back and try the bisque before our flight home. If you’re ever in Key West, definitely give this place a try!

Easily the best lobster roll I've ever had. So glad I gave this place a try for lunch! Tiny place, and the key west roll is unreal with the bite of lime. Perfect lobster meat, and plenty of it. Probably my fave meal of our visit!

The Best Lobster Rolls in Florida hands down. I believe I tasted heaven today in the form of the key west lobster roll. It’s Lobster , melted butter with key lime, and on a superbly fresh roll. The only drawback of this place is there hours.

Great spot to grab some fresh lobster and a cold drink! The key west original roll was nice. Bun was hot and the lobster was cold with good flavor.

The service was the most traumatic experience of my life. Shelly approached me very aggressively and shoved me outside and told me to wait there. Her customer service is very unprofessional and unacceptable. I will never step back in that place again.

Our trolley tour guide recommended this place, which is right across from our hotel. They are a little on the pricey side, and they don't do tap payments. However, the food was delicious!! Definitely get the lobster grilled cheese. Very tasty!

This place doesn't look much from the outside and I wasn't going to go in but then again I was hungry and decided to give them a chance. Boy was I surprised. The service was good, the inside was small but the lobster roll was the best I've ever had and it was loaded with enough lobster for 2 people. Definitely a must!

Pretty busy but little wait time. We got the traditional roll. It was good but could have used maybe a little something extra seasoning wise. Service was great, very pleasant and fast. They keep the tables clear and wiped for customers coming in.

Love the Key West Lobster roll! $29 is not cheap, but love the butter and lime vs. mayo. Beer, white claw, soda. Not a lot of inside seating. Fast, friendly service.

The service was top and very nice :) and the food... fabulous! The prices are the same, but when you come to Key West you have to try them and enjoy the taste. I recommend it with a clear conscience because it is one of the best lobsters you can eat in Florida

I got a grilled cheese lobster roll and if I wasn’t in public I would’ve licked my fingers, it was absolutely delicious! The place is very small but has all the key West charm and service was quick.

It’s a shack! But has a small area to sit and eat. Has various drinks and the best lobster grilled cheese I’ve ever had! Wife has the shrimp roll also very good. Little pricey, maybe should give a better side vs the slaw.

This used to be my favorite restaurant in Key West. The lobster roll is divine but this place has become a freaking joke. This is the second time I have come here and they were sold out of lobster. If they know that a lot of people come they should get more lobster so that people can actually eat the lobster roll. I mean, I drove all the way from Marathon and they're out of freaking lobster, like what kind of business is this? They definitely need a new model, maybe a new manager, a new leader because, this is stupid that a customer drives all the way there for no freaking lobster. You're known as the Lobster Shack, you're not known as the no lobster shack. And the young man behind the counter says come back tomorrow, no I'm not coming back tomorrow. I'm not wasting my time, my mileage, my gas to come here only for you to be out of lobster again. I'll find a business that has enough supply. It's called supply & demand, get more lobster. I went back the following day to give the business another chance only for the owner to say that I was not welcome there because of my negative yelp review. But now I wouldn't give the business my patronage if they were the only restaurant in the world. They don't deserve to own a restaurant if they don’t know how to have enough supply for the customers and then to turn them away when they're gracious enough to come back. And if giving an honest review of my personal experience is considered abuse then so be it but I am just stating my opinion, we are entitled to it. And if you read all my yelp reviews I have given many excellent reviews to many restaurants that actually deserve it. Your place is definitely not one of them. You are joke for turning a paying customer away. Do you think a customer wants to drive almost 80 miles to your restaurant only to not be able to eat because you don't have lobster? Again your name is the Lobster Shack. You need to have some lobster. And you should be flattered that somebody would drive that far to want to want to eat your lobster roll. Cause at some point you were definitely one of my favorite restaurants on the island. Read my first review on yelp & you would see. So basically I was refused service based on my negative review on Yelp. I honestly just wanted to eat a lobster roll because don’t get me wrong their food is very delicious. I had been there six times prior and then two times including yesterday where they did not have lobster but all the other times they had plenty of lobster and their lobster roll was honestly one of the best ones I’ve ever had in my entire life. I wanted to eat some lobster that’s all there is to it but for her to refuse me service I’m pissed off. So guys, do yourself a favor and only give her five stars even though you don’t actually get to eat their food because otherwise she’s gonna say something bad about you and refuse you service. Oh and one last thing, funny how the owner only responds to the positive reviews but totally ignores the less favorable ones. They used to be a five star for me too, but not having enough lobster on multiple occasions brought them down to a one star rating. Sorry but not sorry. 

$60US for 2 tiny little sandwiches was a bit much, more of a gimmick at this point.

The lobster was fresh. I got the Key West lobster roll while my wife got the original. The key west definitely tasted very fresh. No mayo but with a small hint of lime. The bread was very tasty. The original was also tasted good. Not so much mayo like some lobster roll I had in the past. The side of coleslaw was tiny and didn't taste like anything.

Ordered a traditional lobster roll I said it very clear as day the little girl entered Grill cheese lobster she rang us up incorrectly had to pay the different to get what I actually ordered to began with. We paid 71.00 dollars for two lobster rolls and two drinks and an additional for the girls mess up. I should have ask for an itemized receipt pretty sure we got screwed. The lobster was ok not worth 75 dollars. NOONE who worked at the shack knew were the lobsters were from one guy said oh local from the Caribbean island last time I check key west was in American and not the Caribbeans! Husband got the key west lobster roll now it was better than the traditional.

Worth the money, this is the key west roll.

The flavor of the Key West Lobster Roll was explosive and absolutely delicious. Perfectly toasted bun, the right amount of butter, plenty of Lobster. Amazing. $29 too steep in my opinion for the small size. Should be much bigger but all the same. Amazing, definitely going back.

The BEST in Key WEST!!! Haven’t had better meal in Key West and this little shack fits in my top ten best food ever! Our favorites were the grilled cheese lobster and lobster blt…

My husband is highly allergic to white fish. We visited the Lobster Shack in Key West and both had a Lobster Roll. Within one hour he broke out in hives (he is not allergic to lobster). My thought was that they use some sort of shredded white fish as filler in these Lobster Rolls. I called them at 4:02 pm (they close at 4, I believe) and left a detailed message. They never responded. You be the judge! Not straight up Lobster!!

Fabulous place in Key West the best lobster rolls ever

Small place near Southernmost Point. Seemed a lil pricey but considering location prob on par. Our group sat outside & ate. We had lobster rolls, grill cheese & coconut shrimp. Staff was friendly & food came out fast & hot. Everything was very fresh & tasty. Would definitely stop there again

I got the key west lobster roll. It had huge chunks of lobster and tasted fresh. It was big enough to be filling but too big so I wasn't able to finish it. It's $30 and comparing that to another $30 dish I don't know if I'd say it's worth that price. However, it's worth trying once. It's a small place, so there's not a lot of sitting room. However, you can take your sandwich to go and eat near or on the beach. Note: they don't take apple/google pay

We stayed at the Southernmost Resort, and saw the cafe from across the road. My wife and I tried it and the Lobster rolls are the best in the country! WOW! We got the original and the Key West! Both were terrific. This is a don't miss when you are in Key West!

What a small Amazing place. The Lobster Roll was Amazing and the staff was polite and friendly. This was our third visit to Key West can't wait to get back to eat the Lobster Roll here!

This was the best lobster roll ever. It's very large & fresh served in a basket as you would expect. It's expensive but worth it if you love lobster. Definitely worth the stop.

Get here early. We tried once, but they were sold out and closed. The Lobster rolls are large and filled with Lobster. We enjoyed the Key West Roll and the Diablo Roll. The Diablo is not very spicy, so very enjoyable. Small seating area means that you get to enjoy talking to your table mates. The service was fast and they kept the tables clean. This is an excellent Lobster roll and worth coming back for!

Probably the best lobster rolls I've had outside of Maine. The store is small but the food comes out super quick. We ordered the original and key west one and oh boy they were delicious. The little touch of mayo on the original was just right and the key west one was very refreshing.

We saw good reviews and my husband was craving lobster. Decided to try this place out. Food was pricey, but for the amount of lobster on the rolls, not bad! We had Diablo and Key West rolls. We had a service dog and they brought her a bowl of water and little piece of bacon, she loved it, too.

Best Lobster Roll in town better than DJ Shacks. The Roll is crispier and the lobster and sauce nicely balanced - you can't leave town without having taste their Lobster Roll

The best Lobster Roll 🦞 in Key West! We highly recommend you make a stop here. My husband says he has had lobsters rolls all along the East coast of America, Canada and even Europe and the Lobster Shack Key West is his favorite. He has the Diablo and I have the Traditional. We frequent this spot for lunch every visit we have made to Key West. Friendly service, awesome spot!

Delicious! The lobster rolls here are plump full of juicy lobster and come with a small side of a vinegary coleslaw. The rolls are a bit pricey, but worth every penny! I highly recommend!

Small, little mama papa shop with awesome lobster rolls. We are fans of lobsters and very much enjoyed our rolls here. Not the best we've ever had. But, certainly hits the spot when you are looking for that perfect balance of sweetness in the meat and buttery flavored saltiness. Very reasonably priced rolls as well. Highly recommend.

Great owner. Super kindhearted. It's rare to find such genuine and friendly people these days. Lobster roll was delicious. I thought it was on the pricier side because I haven't had a lobster roll in like 6+ years and I didn't know that lobster prices went up tremendously. I remember paying $15-20 for a lobster roll in my home state back then but the same restaurants in my area charge $30-45 now so this place is actually pretty cheap for me lol Glad I tried it out:)

We got the Key West Lobster Roll and the freshness was incredible... not to mention the amount of Lobster on the roll! We have always made a stop here on every trip to Key West and they never fail to impress us! We looooove the Lobster Shack! 🦞

We first tried The Lobster Shack in October and it quickly became a must for all future visits! We returned a few days ago and again the food and service were superb! We will be back!!

We had the lobster grilled cheese, and it was absolutely amazing. Also the lobster bisque and a traditional lobster roll. Worth every penny. So delicious.

Absolutely amazing! Best roll I ever had. The lobster roll is one of the must-try on key west, it's tender, juicy, wrapped with crisp and soft bread. A bit expensive, but worth every penny imo!

The Lobster Roll: the solution for a mid-life crustacean crisis. After devouring that oceanic masterpiece, I had to pen this review before cartwheeling down Duval St. Now, I'm checking my airline points, for a return flight just for a lunchtime encore. Should I come up short, I'm building a raft to set adrift from Texas.
