Very chill atmosphere at this classic dive. My father in law took me here, as he and his wife go every time they are in town and wanted to show us. It has license plates from over 70 years ago and had a lot of charm, albeit grimy. I would definitely recommend to fellow travelers!

This is an OLD dive bar - I was generous by giving it 1 star. There is sooo much mold - cats on the bars-very dingy. Bring rubber gloves & a mask so you can breathe

Everyone should explore and experience at least once very different place and definitely a hole in the wall bar.

I just went here as the first bar as 21 and the guy takes my id and looks at it and says this doesn’t look real and makes all of my friends and family leave. Wasn’t nice about it and was rude and didn’t even offer to scan it or anything

WORST BAR IS RIGHT. We arrived on a Monday night to celebrate someone’s 21st birthday and the bartender asked for everyone’s IDs .. we all complied, he barely looked at the first ID and said it wasn’t real and told us to get out. If you don’t have a scanner and are located in a tourist area how can you not know what other state IDs look like. Maybe next time take an actual look at it before being rude.

Very disappointed in the extremely poor service. Came here for a 21st birthday and they immediately told us they thought the ID was fake refusing service. Thankfully another local bar served us and we are able to celebrate! Super disappointed as this bar actually seemed like a cool place. I would give 0 stars if I could.

The bearded man wouldn’t allow us to enter even though our entire group had valid IDs and were all over 21. He insisted one of our IDs weren’t real and it was a vertical one. Who would buy a fake vertical ID? Seemed like he racially profiled our group. Also smelled disgusting and bartenders were rude.

Customer service was awful. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with “whoever isn’t 21 needs to leave” we were all 21 and over!!!!!!!!!! I’m sorry that we all look so good for our age. Sorry yall can’t relate 😊 we went to another bar afterwards and they checked all of our ids properly and we’re having a great time now! Thanks to another bar!

The environment was exactly as listed. Drinks were very reasonable. Staff are not warm and fuzzy so if you get butt hurt easily not your place.

It's definitely worth a trip if you're in the area. It's an experience, prices were great, atmosphere is something you don't see often. It was hot, but it's florida so that's hardly surprising. There is indoor and outdoor seating/bars

You’ve read the reviews, don’t really know what to say other than you just have to experience it for yourself. I was pleasantly surprised by the beer pricing, $4 for a draft. The people watching was amazing and when I asked which bathroom was the men’s I was told “doesn’t really matter”. I did choose to use the restroom that wasn’t marked “women’s”. I tried not to touch anything in the bathroom and there was definitely not a “how clean was our restroom?” Survey as we were exiting. Good entertainment.

Crazy looking place with a bunch of locals. Wife and I stopped in for drinks and the live music. Also one of the few places in the area to stay open past 10 pm.

Genuine Old Florida bar that's left back in time... very reasonable prices but not someplace if you're looking for $20 Fufu drinks.

Great little kitschy dive bar kinda place, very charming, but no food offered at the time I visited. Got stuck there in a rain storm and wound up drinking til it passed. Great atmosphere. Don't visit if you’re over 5'11 😆

What can be said that hasn't already been said? If you want the best dive bar experience ever then go get some beers and drinks here. Six drinks total for 3 people was $33 for beers and a Rum and Coke and a Vodka lemonade. Drinks had a healthy pour of rum and vodka in them. The atmosphere has to be seen and experienced to be believed. Great service by the workers here too. Take a Sharpie and some dollar bills to leave behind to mark your visit.

A must see for people wanting to see and interesting type of place... if you don't like hole in the walls don't bother ... you can tell by the pics if it's your type of place or not..so don't go in there giving bad reviews because your up tight and don't like a ran down bar... read the sign out front.

What an amazing place, so much to look at, and I don't think I seen everything. Our bartender was fabulous..and DONT touch the cat! Lol

This place takes dive bar to another level. A good place for a drink & and mind-blowing decor viewing. There's a cat that you must stay clear of. He was so mean. He'd hiss at you if you looked at him.

This place is all about the old school dive bar - for which it delivers in spades. Tough to get a beer sometimes, too much smoke for my liking, and marginal music talent often - but a one of a kind for sure.

Fun, laid back, easy going dive bar. Lots to observe EVERYWHERE here. Must stop and check out at least once if you're in the area. There's a parking lot in the rear of the bar, just look for the sign. You can't miss it.

Love Mahuffers but the last times we went the place smelled like sewage and old urine. We know the vibe has a dirty look and just a hole in the wall but the smell was so bad we had to leave. Several ppl complained about the overpowering smell. Been here a ton and never smelled this.

Well what are you looking for a clean place? Maybe good temp..like a/c . None are gonna be here for you. This place is a mess ..you may get actually catch something there. Yet this has the best dive bar atmosphere you can want. The band does a good job of keeping you in the mood. The bar tenders have a good poor. It's a place you love, but need a shower afterwards.

Did not have any food. But this place is definitely a stop-in photo taking eye googling place. Random things all over the place much which are dollar bills and bras. It's tiny, dark and full of interesting character. I didn't feel comfortable using the bathroom or sitting anywhere 😂 but I would always bring a tourist here who wants a wow eew factor.

Mahuffer’s is part haunted house, part junk yard, part Coyote Ugly and part of things I’ve never seen. Dark, dirty, charming and worth a visit.

You have to see it to believe it. Not sure how people eat food in there. My companion absolutely loved it. But personally, it grossed me out. Definitely check it out, but brace yourself.

I was in town for a Bachelor party and we got recommended to go to Mahuffer's by a bunch of people. The bar truly has an unique atmosphere with all of the dollar bills and articles of clothing stapled to the wall. The bartender said that there were around 21k bills. The drinks were well priced and the bartender was very nice. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking it out!

No food so didn't rate it. If you like a good dive bar, this is a must go, bucket list place to go. Chill beach town vibe with some wild decor that has taken decades to perfect. You must stop in for a drink here. If you are into a posh experience this is not for you. But if authentic and whimsical and chill is your thing then this is a must do place.

I’ve been to my share of dive bars… but this one takes the cake for its meticulously curated attention to diveyness.

They have funny signs but it’s the filthiest place I’ve ever been.

Kicked us out because of my 18 year old and 16 year old coming in to eat with family. Bar tender was super rude. No rules posted at the bar or website. She said because of spring break.

This is the most unique bar I have ever been to! Definitely a "dive", every inch of the interior is covered in $1 bills stapled to the walls, ceilings and decor and signed in permanent marker. If not written on bills, then quotes, signatures and drawings are on the chairs, decor and posters. Went for drinks while on vacation in Clearwater and had a great time listening to live music - the Taylor Jansen Trio was playing and they were fantastic! Drinks are strong and the vibes are great. Met nice people and will totally return! Shoutout to Ollie the cat who runs the place!!!

Mahuffers is a must visit place. It's not fancy but it's full of character. The downside is that it is such a popular dive bar on the beach, service is slow. Order 2! The crowd is always chill and from all over the world given that it's a beach bar and every local will suggest going.
