My parents are Peruvian so I appreciate a good Peruvian meal and this place was good. I orderef a Lomo Saltado and asked for Peruvian Aji (spicy sauce), which I received but realized upon tasting it, that it was the papa la huancaina sauce, and not aji. I guess they were out. The flavor of my meal was perfect and hot. I managed to finish it all! I then ordered a Tiramisu "to go." Before leaving, I peaked inside my to go bag for a look, which looked great. Then tried it. It tasted like cake and was not moist enough. For $9.50, I wish I had passed. Regardless, the food, atmosphere and service were great!

Who knew Wauchula had such good restaurants?! Friendly staff, delicious food with a nice, quiet atmosphere. My friends and I eat here once a month and we love this place.

Excellent variety of food. Peruvian, Asian fusion, tex mex, burgers, wings, just about anything you'd like.

Had lunch here today. I ordered the chimichanga. Never had one before. It was delicious and very filling. I also wanted to share that they are having a buffet this Sunday so let's go eat 😋 and they have live entertainment.

I was shocked how much food we got for as little as we paid very delicious too.

Stopped in Wauchula for lunch on a road trip and decided to take a risk and go for Peruvian food in a small town. It was well worth the risk. I ordered the Seco de Res (kind of like a braised beef or short rib) and it was absolutely delicious. It is tex mex and Peruvian, so my husband ordered the fajitas (someone ordered it when we came in and it smelled amazing). The fajitas were also delicious and well seasoned. I normally wouldn't eat the pickled onions on a Peruvian plate, and my husband normally doesn't touch Mexican rice and beans, but we ate both because they were just that good. Even my semi-picky baby was devouring the food from both dishes. Definitely adding this to our list of stops when we travel through Florida.

My wife and I saw this place advertised on a billboard while traveling to South Florida. I am peruvian and she shares the love for our cuisines so we decided to try it. We were warmly welcome and promptly served.The ceviche and the chilcano drink were really good and had a great, authentic flavor. They have a bar next door and they advertise doing Karaoke and live music. Will definitely be back.

Ceviche was amazing. We saw the billboard on our way down south and stopped in. Everything we had was great and love the way they've decorated too ; a very cute date night

It's not good. The frie shrimp and calamari, with not taste at all. We been waiting for 1 hour for the soup.

Have only been able to go once. Food was really good with limited exposure thus far. We'll be going back and responding with more over time. I like that they offer groups some specialized seating z which allows us to hold some group meetings there for church and HOA, etc.

Horrible service who was nasty something was wrong with the meat my mom had three tacos she wanted them soft but it had it cost an extra dollar I had chicken tenders and fries My chicken tenders meat tastes nasty 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

My beer was good. I truly believe the lettuce on my taco salad was treated with sulfites. Was bloated all evening. As a large group, you would think they would have more than one server. Drinks were not served efficiently. Can’t understand why a server would take 24 orders before sending to kitchen. After taking all orders, server came back & reverified all orders. Finally orders sporadically came. 2-1/2 hours to get a simple meal. Was also told , if we wanted salsa & chip refills it would be $5 up charge. Will not return.

Stopped by for wings but ended up with the best ceviche I've ever had! Service was quick and great as well.

Really shouldn't take over an hour to receive food. When they're are only 4 table of people. Not the first time this has happened. Probably wo t be back.

Took an hour and 20 mins to get our food. Sub par. Really really loud music from a Spanish singer. Too loud we couldn't have a conversation so we had to move to the bar. Sat with empty cups for a long time. Servers don't carry trays so they brought out 1 or 2 plates at a time. Payed to play a game of pool, but neither tables had a cue ball. So wasted my money on that. Bathrooms not taken care of. Smelled horrible. Not TP.

Fresh! Tasty and filling. Hubby had beef burrito and I had grilled chicken taco salad. Both were excellent. Service was great. We asked for extra pica de gio and it was excellent. Freshly made. Place was clean and well kept. Will visit again.

Every time I order here the food is soooo good. After today I've decided to start tipping the cook. I can't even with this food 😋

My husband are at the Thousand Trails Peace River campground and got lucky when we chose this place. Everything was great from service, to cold beer, to excellent chips, salsa and guacamole to the entrees of enchiladas and chimichanga.

Food was ok. My husband’s beef was good. The restaurant smelled badly. A little like sewer. That probably ruined what might have been a better review

You gotta try this place. No excused just go. Pick a meal and hold on to your seat. You won't be disappointed

Wonderful dining experience! We opted for chicken fajitas that were awesome. George offered up a tasting of fresh passion fruit juice that was refreshing. Surprise was the fried ice cream-delicious 👍👍 Highly recommend!

Very nice place. Staff were friendly. Food was good. Homemade chips and salsa were excellent. Three of us had cheeseburgers and fries. The other person had the Cuban sandwich. They serve pub food, Tex-Mex and Peruvian dishes. Definitely try The Main.

Arrived for lunch. Stood around several minutes and seated ourselves. One server, very polite but it appeared she was doing everything by herself. One table of 6 sat for a long time to order. Food was mediocre at best. Food took a LONG time to come out - a salad and burger.

Walked in and was seated promptly . The sever brought us our drinks and disappeared. No on else in restaurant . Upon her return she took our order. We had to request chips and salsa-normally delivered upon seating. We ordered Peruvian Beef stew and a chicken taco salad. Both meals were very good. We then had to wait and request our check. Server not very attentive .

They have a great Peruvian menu. I've never tried this before but I can't wait to go back and try more new options. The service was also very nice.

This diner is under new management with a new name: Main Plaza Bistro Bar. They advertise "Peruvian fusion cuisine" as their specialty. From our experience, this is beef or chicken stir-fried in soy sauce and served over french fries. We also tried the "Peruvian sampler" for $30. This was a total disappointment. Tiny portions of stir fried beef, a sliced boiled potato and some kind of stewed gristle meat. Wife felt sick afterwards. Will not be back and cannot recommend this place. If in Wachula looking for dinner, try the Italian place across the street.

The meal was delicious and the paid close attention to my food restrictions. Our server was very polite and attentive without bothering us. The owners even came out.

The decor was much improved…tablecloths, new floor and lighting. Clean. Met for lunch at 1 on a Tuesday, no one else in restaurant. Out of wine we ordered…wine selection poor. Tonic stale…waitress was also making drinks. She tried, felt sorry for her. Food was good but just as every other restaurant prices are up. Will choose another place to meet next time.

First time at location. For a Saturday night there was no wait. We really enjoyed the warm chips and salsa. Menu has variety of options. Shredded chicken is in a red sauce (pictured). If I knew that before I would have ordered grilled.

This was my first time visiting Main Plaza Bistro Bar. Our waitress, Michelle, was very kind and continued to check in on us. Our food was great. If you're looking for something different, this is the place to go with their Peruvian menu.

Stopped for lunch enroute to Orlando. What an amazing and delightful surprise. Main Plaza Bistro Bar surpassed all of our expectations. Michelle, our server, was so friendly, engaging, and went out of her way to make sure our experience was nothing but the absolute best. She is clearly their “special sauce ❤️.” The food was outstanding. Thank you for sending us on our way happy and satisfied!

The food was perfect the service was impeccable, and the waitress Michelle was the nicest waitress I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Definitely recommend this little hidden gem when in Wauchula.

Decent food . Kind of a lame bar . First off each chair I sat in was wobbly and felt like it was gonna break . It was a silent bar so I put a song on the juke box and The music blasted so loud it was almost like a concert . And people wanted to move away from the bar once the music came on . It was very awkward just how loud it was ridiculous . Service was pretty average nothing too special . I was confused with the type of food they had . One side of the menu was Tex mex the other was Peruvian . But also Peruvian Asian . I got the Peruvian stir fry which was good but to me was just an Asian style stir fry . Will I go back ? I would say most likely no . Two beers an Asia stir fry and a slice of cake . 40.00 .

My first time here and I loved it ! We ordered the traditional sample platter . It had creamy chicken with cheese which was amazing ! There was also a beef stew with cilantro that went well with the rice . And then a stir fry over potato fries ! All the flavors were comforting and not overwhelming and went well with the rice and potatoes ! I met George, the owner , and he was very friendly and informative . He explained what were in the dishes and answered all our questions ! I will definitely be back with family soon ! And they have door dash !!

Good food and high end atmosphere

Tables were covered with fresh white linens and cloth napkins. Flooring was clean. Service was attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. We all left with very full bellies. The atmosphere was casual. We will be returning to try different items on the menu.

We wanted to like this small town place. Enchiladas were dry and burrito lackluster. Service was welcoming salsa was good and helped save an otherwise unremarkable lunch.

Worst food I have ever experienced at a restaurant. How difficult is it to make a BLT? It was honestly almost inedible. The poor server did a great job, but clearly had very little help or experience. What a disappointment.

Wed 3pm quiet time. Good food. Sunny Burger. Easy fast pleasant.

I had the steak Chaufa. It was awesome!! Ask for a little of the Peruvian hot sauce. You won't be disappointed. Service was super, and from 6-9 pm on Friday there was live music. Great night!!

The food was amazing! We loved the Peruvian dish. We got so much, that we got some to go for dinner. Our server was very kind, friendly, and very clean place.

Peruvian food in Wauchula? You bet! The ceviche was top notch. I could drink a cup of the lemon ceviche sauce. Homemade Tortilla chips are off the chain. The chaufa de polla was excellent, and the beef linguine was delicious! Our waiter, Victor, was excellent. He explained the menu and kept our waters full. Don't miss this unexpected gem in downtown Wauchula.

Pleasant staff and bartender. Happy hour every day 4 to 6 PM, two for one beer and margaritas, muy bueno.

The chicken tenders were whole breasts. The fajitas were marinated in Italian dressing? It was one of those worst restaurants I’ve ever been to quality wise.

Comfortable little restaurant in downtown Wachula. Looks as if it had been a part of the historic Florida Hotel on that block. George the owner was very friendly and took our order that evening. The food was great and very fairly priced. Over all, a very nice experience in a little town like Wachula.

The Peruvian options on the menu were a surprise and delicious. Service was a bit slow but might be because three or four groups arrived all at once. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend trying the Peruvian entrees.

Tried a new dish I had not had before and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Also very reasonable, waitress was informative. On the other side of the restaurant there were pool tables and tables where you could sit and have a drink. Quaint little place, very neat, clean and a delight to just sit and talk and have an excellent meal.

Horrible every time I've ever been here(more than one occasion, same experience every time.). Their drinks (alcohol) taste watered down, they are far from quick to care about customer complaints or happiness, I'm honestly surprised they are able to keep any business. I've worked 10+ years in the restaurant industry and this place is a sham. Stay away

Food was excellent! I had the fajita burrito and it was so good.. initial service was a little slow, but that's kind of the norm nowadays. The food did come out fast though. It's nice to have some authentic Mexican food, but they do have burgers if you're not in the mood. I will be back soon!

They've changed up the menu a little bit with a buffet style breakfast and lunch. Still delicious food but I missed that awesome cheeseburger and my Pollo fundito. Great friendly staff is still there with their smiling faces! Still one of my favorites

I have came in several times to eat with in past few months and food was great also service. Today my husband and I went in to a buffet style and the food was not the greatest. Very dissatisfied with the new way of doing things. I ordered a hamburger and it took over 15 minutes to get it.

wandered in looking for a new place to have lunch. Pleasantly surprised! Food was great, can't beat the price, nice atmosphere and server was top notch.

Take-out Chicken fundido: chicken was good. The rice was bland but not bad. The beans were watery with a pink hue so I didn't eat them. The staff was friendly. The bathrooms weren't good. Bugs floating in one toilet, another didn't flush, and the other was leaking all over the floor.

Service was great, the staff was very nice and took the time needed to explain the special's. The portions were nice, not small but not so large that food goes to waste. I ordered the Chimichanga, it was loaded with lots of shredded chicken, cook to perfection. We'll be back soon.

Very delicious food and very homemade! We tried to eat at the Italian restaurant across the street but were pretty much ignored even after we were seated. This place looked good and had a similar struggle with low staff but at least we were acknowledged. We didn't mind waiting and were so glad we did because the food was wonderful!

The pollo fundido was amazing as always. I recommend adding chorizo and shrimp without the teriyaki sauce, extra cheese. Edit* Many years later and it's just as good as day one

This is a very nice place with great service and food was delicious. We had no wait time and were seated right away. Would definitely eat here again.

I have been here several times and it's the best food in 200 miles.... no joke , I'm from Georgia and this food is phenomenal both in classic americano and Mexican food ! Great bar next door w pool tables . The main restaraunt has the best in family atmosphere to offer.

Went and had a burger was impressed good burger good value nice friendly staff

First time going to the main street grill and although the food was delicious the service left alot to be desired. I had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and it was delicious. The lettuce was chopped up in a way that made the salad harder to eat but it was such a well made salad I didn't mind too much. I did however not enjoy the service. Our server was friendly but she disappeared for long periods of time and the place was not busy at all we were the only people in there for a while. Most of us were left without drinks for a majority of our time. Might go back

This place is awesome! The prices were good (I got a steak for $12) and they actually cooked it right for me! I have been disappointed with steaks in the past. The waiter was super nice and helpful, he also gave us good recommendations and chit chatted with us. Would recommend and will be going back!

Big 1/2 lb burger cooked perfectly medium rare. My wife had a chicken quesadilla overflowing with cheese. Highly recommend.

I have been searching for the perfect wings in town, their wings are THE BEST. Not the huge, hormone pumped, unnatural looking-baked wings, but the real chicken, Med, normal sized, fried and prevention!!! Their burgers are so thick and juicy, they get the “medium” perfect everytime. Everything there is SO good and very fairly priced. Also, the staff, always so accommodating and pleasant. This is Wauchulas best kept secret! SO highly recommended! It always feel like home cooking honestly.
