Atmosphere and food was great! Servers were awesome!

The cheerful exterior in a strip, opens into a beautifully traditional fine dining experience. My highest compliment would be to say that this restaurant would not be out of place if magically transported to "Federal Hill, Providence, RI, arguably the highest standard for Italian fare in the nation! Change my mind!

This is an AMAZING place that you would not believe from the outside. So glad we went and wish we lived closer so that we could go again and again! Wonderful menu options. I really wanted to try the special (osso buco), but since we were traveling and didn't have room for leftovers, I went for the chicken Alfredo, which was wonderful. And check out these beautiful Cannoli s!!!

The fried calamari very good, not greasy or chewy. The shrimp cocktail very nice. However, my eggplant rollatini had an off taste, was full of bread crumbs to the point where you didn't even know it was eggplant. Actually, rollatini should not have breadcrumbs. The tomato sauce out of a jar! Got charged a 12.00 service fee, which we have no idea what it is. Good t charged for more wine than we drank. Won't go back

Best Italian food in Ocala. A hidden gem!

Without a doubt, the greatest italian restaurant in the entire ocala region. I will be recommending this place to all my friends and family. If I could give it 6 stars, I would .

Wow. The ravioli and cheesecake w special sauce. Plus the dipping for bread. Excellent ingredients. Fresh Parmesan. Mmmm. My friend told us about this gem. Walking in is like going through a portal. The silverware, service and personal attention made us feel like the only one in the restaurant. Delicious. I highly recommend.

The linguine pescatore was fabulous. The lasagna perfectly layered and meaty. Great spaghetti and meatballs. We will be back.

My friends and I celebrated my birthday at Marcelina’s last night! What an amazing choice. The service was exceptional. They made my night so special. They were all so attentive to refill your glass or bring more of whatever you needed. The meals were delicious! We cannot wait to go back!

Great experience! Calamari was some of the best I’ve had, grouper Frances was absolutely delicious. The olive oil garlic dipping sauce for your bread is very addicting. We came up from Tampa for a swim meet. They easily accommodated a party of 12 and it was amazing. The food and the service are definitely worth stopping by and giving it a try.

What a gem!! We came to Ocala from Tampa Florida for a swim meet and stumbled across this small little quaint Italian restaurant. Not expecting anything extraordinary, we left with a memorable experience. Dishes for a party of 15 came out extremely hot and were filled with incredibly balanced flavors that children and adults enjoyed. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely come back next time we have a swimming meet in Ocala. FYI..be sure to meet the owner, she’s the hostess with the mostess!!

My favorite place to eat while in Ocala.

Tonight was our first time here. I have had this restaurant saved for a long time. We went about 6:30 (Saturday) and sat right down. Food was delicious!! Luckily I had someone with me that spoke spanish to communicate to the wait staff. It was kinda hard to order. Outside of that food was amazing!!

I noticed that one review complained about the ambiance. While it is nice to sit in a beautiful environment, it isn't that important to me. I'm more about the food. And the food was excellent and reasonably priced. I also don't care that the owners/staff are not Italian. I lived in Italy for 4 years, and the food was equal to anything that I ever ate there.

I don't know how Marcelina's has so many postive reviews. There is no charm to the location or the restaurant itself. They are located in an older strip mall that is off putting and not well maintained. The restaurant itself is split into two dining rooms. The main dining room is overcrowded with too many tables placed too close together. When diners are seated, there is not ample room for people to walk through without making contact with those seated around them. When we were there, the front and back dining rooms had different music playing. If you were seated near the split, you had the displeasure of hearing two different types of music playing overtop of one another. Advice, play only one piece of music and make it on theme for an "Italian" restaurant. Try classical, piano, or rat pack. In terms of the food, my grouper that came with shrimp had only two shrimp. The asparagus it was served with was either woody, shriveled, or missing the head. We had to send our bread back as a fly landed on it. This is not authentic Italian. If you are expecting such, you'll be disappointed. Ownership is Latina, as is the front of house aside from an older Indian man. I guarantee you there are no Italian's preparing generational recipes. Disappointing all around.

Worst food ever, not even close to Italian food. The service was terrible. Then they charged $4.00 service charge on top of the bill for using a charge card. Never again

The staff is fantastic. The food .... issues were had but quickly corrected. Atmosphere could stand updated but adequate. Recommend that you try this restaurant yourselves because others have had great experiences here (ours may have just been a fluke.)

It was the best experience we have had in Ocala! The owner is sow sweet and even hugged me on my way out and me echo la bendición on my way out ! Plates are huge you eat and take home! Highly recommend

This was my first visit to Marcelina's. I'd like to say that I was blown away but it fell slightly short of that. Certainly very good and I will surely be going back for a few more dinners. My only real criticism is I think they could afford to give you a small salad with your entree. Otherwise it was very good.

Went for Easter Sunday early dinner. Had to choose from a special menu. The food was excellent as always.

My sister hosted her wedding reception at Marcelina’s and to say that everything was perfect would be an understatement. The atmosphere was as elegant from table settings, decor, even down to the Italian tunes playing in the background. Everything was beautiful. The service was incredible with friendly staff all more than accommodating and the food was incredibly good. I fully recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal, great service and atmosphere. All around amazing experience. Thank you to the amazing staff that made my sisters wedding wonderful and memorable.

Beautiful, ambience, food and service, all equally excellent…

On Easter they were extremely busy. They had a time keeping up, that why I gave them a 4* on service.

I waited a very long time for someone to come take my order. Then no one came to offer drink refills and then was charged a service fee? Most Italian restaurants include salad with a dinner meal. This place charges. $4 For a simple house salad or $6 for a cesar salad. Ridiculous. Not impressed.

It created the perfect setting for a memorable family meal or a romantic dinner. Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, it was incredible! So sad that a pretty place had such terrible service. It’s not a “ cheap “ place and so it’s so disappointing that the waitress took so long to get us a drink and then after got our food, we never saw her again. $20-$30. Entrees and they don’t come with a salad. Overall bad experience; will not be going back. 😩

Great environment service food. It feels like an authentic NY Italian restaurant decor. The owner / staff are amazingly attentive to your needs. The portions are generous for the price. It’s a gourmet meal at a regular price. So I highly recommend you make this a family or romantic dinner night event stop.

Rude owners, loud room, food was cold. I welcome the phone call I was promised. But all I have received so far are excuses. They gave themselves an unauthorized 43% tip on a take-out order.

Great atmosphere for date night. Shrimp Pasta was light on shrimp. Counted 5 shrimp, but it was tasty. Just expect a dozen shrimp for a $23 entree. Bread with dipping sauce is always delish. They brought out complimentary calamari for my dad's birthday. This was some of the best calamari I've had. Wine glasses are Yuge, but cost $12 so it's nice to get a yuge pour. Great family run business.

First and probably my last visit. Generous portions and popular with some locals. I saw the final credit card charge on my bank statement was a 50% tip ($10). I wish now I had saved my receipt that showed ~$23 for the meal, including tax.

2023-12-29: This business is family owned and operated. I took my mom out for a late lunch. We were cheerfully greeted when we entered the restaurant. They brought out some bread. I had the Lobster Ravioli and a Caesar Salad. My mom had the Chicken Parmigiana. Everything was delicious, and my mom's chicken was very tender. To finish it off, we had a Cannoli. Bob was our waiter and he did a fine job of telling us the specials, and keeping our drinks full.

Every time I come to Ocala from Orlando I do it to try the delicious dishes they serve here. On this occasion I tried the chicken parmigiana and it was delicious, I recommend it if you want to try an authentic Italian dish you have to come to Marcelina's, the service was super incredible, they really know customer service and they serve you a little piece of heaven on each plate, The atmosphere was very warm, I definitely didn't want to leave but I had to return home 😅 Thank you Marcelina's for this incredible taste and see you soon....!

Not all its hyped up to be…..food was mediocre and bread seemed stale ……. They tried covering that by toasting in the oven but still not good…. Chicken and veal were overcooked…..for $64 to go with tip not worth it

We drove an hour to get there and it was worth every mile. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The wine pours were very generous and all four of our meals were out of this world. Huge portions with great Italian flavors. The service was super and the prices were just right. Looking forward to going there again real soon!!

Definitely not what it used to be. Disappointed with last visit. Waiter did not tell us about special's. We heard them from the next tables waitress after we placed our order. Bread was disappointing. Just plain white bread that was not warm or toasted. Lasagna was half warm and half cold as if it was microwaved. Meatballs were hot but didn't like the taste. Eggplant parm was all cheese and hardly any eggplant.

Great place go visit. Don't be in a rush, all the food is made to order fresh.

I took my out-of-town neighbors to Marcelina’s for what I thought was going to be a wonderful experience. I made reservations, and when I got there, there was no reserved table. We put were put in the back of the secondary room. We were virtually ignored. Dinner took an hour and a half to get served. This restaurant is off my special list!

We love this wonderful restaurant. Recommend it to all people that LOVE large portions of great Italian food. Can’t say enough. My parent’s are moving and wanted to spend their last night at Marcelina’s. Nuff said! Miss you all!

Not a huge deal, but requested butter and didn't receive it. Very clean, calming, lower light ambiance. Had spaghetti, requested extra marinara, but there still was not very much marinara.

It has been a few years since we dined here due to our initial bad experience. Unfortunately, it has not improved very much. I had the Caprese, Fagioli and Marcelina Combo. The Caprese was very good. The Fagioli was just hot enough however far too salty for my taste. The Combo was just warm but the taste was good. Then there was the service. We had to ask for everything. Our soups were served before we were even 1/2 way done with the Caprese and the main course was delivered before we were done with the soup. With large dishes and small tables there was not enough flat surface available to place the dishes on the table. There is NO EXCUSE for rushing food delivery when it was just after 2pm and there were only 3 tables occupied. I see no need for a 3rd visit here.

What a great little hiddden gem!! The service was amazing, food was soooo good we went there to have a birthday dinner for my dad and hubby!!! We will be back!!!
