It rocks. Haven’t been disappointed with a thing and I’ve walked almost their whole menu. These guys especially make the most kickass pizza. Worth checking out!

I've been on what I've titled a "Jacksonville pizza journey" - trying to hunt down the best New York style pizza in the city. At each place I order the same thing - either a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni, or if they don't sell by the slice I order a half cheese, half pepperoni 10" pizza. I've tried pizza all over Jax, eating at the same places multiple times to give them the benefit of the doubt if the pizza was off on a given day. Mateo's is the current reigning champion. The flavor is awesome. The crust is cooked perfectly. The sauce is delicious. The light sprinkling of Italian seasoning is on point. Mateo makes his dough in house and has been making pizza for years. The price is beyond reasonable. If you truly love pizza, I can't stress enough that Mateo's needs to be on the top of your list. And, as an added bonus, it's inside the Bold City taproom - $4 pints of delicious fresh beer. I've been looking for the perfect pizza, and I'm stoked that it's located in my neighborhood at Mateo's.

Excellent bar pizza. Although, this time, the criust was too damned greasy.

Best food I’ve ordered in this area! Swiss Burger, Cheesesteak, Little Bit of Everything pizza and cheese chili bacon fries! Amazing!!!!!! Great atmosphere!

So far I've tried the pizza, the burger, the cheese curds, and the Italian sausage hotdog. The pizza was great. The bread had great fIavor, which is rare. The sauce and cheese were evenly proportioned. The toppings were fresh and well cooked. I tried it with the balsamic upon Mateos recommendation and it a great pairing. The burger was very good. I often find the meat can by dry on burgers but that wasn't the case here. The meat was moist but it wasn't one of those burgers that wets the bun. It was perfectly balanced. The cheese curds are always good. One time they were a bit salty but with the sweet chili sauce it was still ok. I still order them with less added salt but it's personal preference. The Italian dog certainly is well cooked. The sausage itself has a bit of a tough skin like a bratwurst so expect that. I think they could use a slightly bigger bun because I kind of had to eat it dissembled but it was still satisfying. All the food and service I've had at Mateos is certainly a cut above most of what I've tried even outside of Jacksonville. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for well prepared and flavorful food. For a restaurant inside of a brewery this place not only holds its own with dedicated food restaurants but exceeds their quality in more than one way.

Owner is pretty cool. Makes an excellent burger and the pizza is fairly decent as well. Plenty of draft beer if u're into that

Service here is always great. I think it's the owner, but the man who's always there is so kind. Food is good too! I recommend a smashburger, or one of the grilled cheese options. French fries are the bomb, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect.

This is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Jax. My husband and I often talk about how delicious the food is. I almost always order the pizza because of how good it is, but his burgers, cheesesteaks and grilled cheese are amazing too! Honestly you won’t regret whatever you get.

Traveling through JAX for the weekend. We came in for some Bold City beer (yum). But, my goodness, Mateos, this small operation, served up some of best scratch pizza I’ve had. Anywhere. Just hella good.

The best cheese steak in Jax. I am a very picky eater. No condiments at all. This was the best seasoned tender meat on a cheese steak. Fries were hot and tasty, but the cheese steak is spot on!

Truly a hidden jem I have come here a many times and am excited every time new dishes are added. They are always happy to help and make you feel welcome. If you want a local beer and some of the best bar food to go with it come here.

Great place went tonight while in town. Got to try the Phillycheese steak . The place reminded me of a Colorado, the atmosphere.

This place is hidden very well, but has an amazing atmosphere in a brewery that has all types of house beers. My wife and I ordered a pizza and a burger with swiss cheese bacon and spinach. We split both items, and really enjoyed both of them. The burger was really good, the bacon was thick but got overcooked somehow. The pizza was better than anywhere elses in this area, New York style. Yummy crispy fluffy crust, perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Well balanced all together, I was a big fan! Next time I'll be sure to get a table inside!

Absolutely one the best grilled cheeses I have ever had! Love the food, atmosphere and people! Played Jenga and had a blast! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had some killer parmesan garlic tater tots, cheese curds, sausage and pepperoni pizza, and cheese steak! All of the food was delicious, and it perfectly accompanied the great beer list! Keep it up!
