Great food with interesting flavors. The staff is superb. Went for a special event and the team presented the guests of honor with a greeting card out of the blue. And champagne! Great guest care!!

We are leaving Florida and our neighbors took us here for a last dinner with them. We've lived in the Palmetto, Parrish area for 8 years and have never been here. Bummer. Make it a date night and go see the owner Dean who amazed us by his old school table touch! Lovely dinner and atmosphere! Thank you 💋

Sammi was absolutely amazing! She was on top of everything from the moment we sat down made great recommendations and was quick and efficient. Food and drinks were great!

1st and 3rd Thursday music 5:30-8:30pm. Nashville performers who have recorded some of their own music. Recently saw Jessie Daniels perform , just the most likeable personality. Comes from a family of I think he said 10 brothers and 8 sisters. Preachers son. His kids ask when he's going to be on Spotify. I knew I loved him right then and there. Played guitar and sang. Our party of 3 women enjoyed the entire experience of great food and "eye candy". ( It's ok I can say it because I'm old enough to be his mother.)

It was my birthday yesterday I visited Mean Deans by myself for dinner first time let me tell you the experience was phenomenal my Champagne was complimentary, the host was friendly and she is also beautiful. I will highly recommend this beautiful place. I do not eat out , so this was truly amazing I enjoyed it. Great menu, the food very good. Run to Mean Deans.

We just had an amazing birthday dinner at Mean Deans! Linda our server took great care of us and made my birthday special! Dean even came by the table to check on us. This is our second trip there and it was just as great as the first time! The tofu curry is so saucy and good. The Mac and cheese with pulled pork was sweet and creamy. Can’t wait to try the mango cream cake they sent us home with!

Our waiter PJ was great had good suggestions on the food ! Burger was excellent, Ahi Tuna perfect ! We will be back!! Actually next Wednesday for lunch!!

Food was good-ish. My wife had the fillet. Ordered it medium-rare but it was medium-well so that was a bit disappointing. My dish was good but I think Deans style is heavily seasoned and it just seemed to be trying a little too hard. It was my birthday and they stuck us in a dark corner. It just lacked the fun time I was hoping to have. Still, not bad.

Amazing cuisine and service is great! They offer craft cocktail and beer menu along with several wines to pair with your dinner. I had the salmon tacos paired with a seasonal draft and my husband had the pot roast with vegetables and a delicious broth. Desserts are delicious as well! We had the apple crumble and tasted very fresh and homemade. The staff was very nice and attentive! Always the best when we visit!

Had an amazing dinner! This was our second visit and I absolutely love when a place is consistent. Linda was super wonderful, friendly and funny. She provided amazing service and made several delicious suggestions! Highly recommend to try this place and ask for Linda! They currently have a seasonal menu and I absolutely love the Mainetini and hope they add it to their regular menu. Super fantastic service, food and drinks. Will definitely return with friends!

Excellent food & service! All of the food was fresh and delicious. Family member said it was the best salmon she has ever had at a restaurant, and she orders salmon almost all of the time when dining out. Our server, Zoe, couldn’t have been more friendly or attentive and the entire staff was extremely cordial. It’s a great neighborhood restaurant and we will definitely return soon.

We stumbled upon Dean's place. What luck! Food here is amazing. Service is top notch. We felt welcome in every way, and Dean himself came and helped us with food selection. The atmosphere is low-key, neat, and clean. PJ is an excellent server; knowledgeable, courteous, and gracious. Food is fresh, delicious, and very well presented. We’ve eaten here several times over the past few years and it’s always an enjoyable experience.

Great place for unexpected food experiences. There is now a full bar with a great cocktail list. Service is attentive without being intrusive-which I like. The menu is extensive enough to please everyone. Daily specials always exciting. Good food with good prices. Live music weekly is a nice addition. Do yourself a favor and visit Dean for a good dining experience.

PJ was an amazing server. Everything was great overall. No complaints, but I would recommend them working on their sweet tea.

Excellent food and service. The layer mac and cheese was so delicious and the chicken was well seasoned and the goat cheese was the perfect topping. Attentive server and manager that came by to ask about my meal. Overall, great experience, I will be back.

We love this place. The soups are always amazing, loved the calamari, and the tofu coconut curry. They have specials everyday, live music sometimes and I think I read something about trivia night.

Whole belly Ipswich clams, delicious. The same goes for the blackened alligator chowder.

First time eating at Mean Deans. Greeted immediately by the hostess, Linda our server was fantastic!! Went over drink specials and the specials on the menu. The apps, dinner and desert were great. We were lucky to come when they had their New England weekend. Cod stuffed with crab, New Englanf clam chowder, shrimp and scallop pasta left us full buy wanting to come back for more. Came here with my in-laws and had one of the best meals! My MIL absolutely loved her salmon and the ribs were fabulous. Linda was the best server and shared all her favorites and she was spot on! My father and I dined Friday night. We were seated right away and service without waitress Meadow was wonderful. She had cold beer for my father and continued to keep my ice tea full and fresh lemons. Tour meals were delicious - The Salmon was great.

This has been me and my partner’s favorite restaurant since moving to Bradenton. We moved from Sarasota in September of 2020, and two months later, Mean Dean’s opened! Any time anyone in the area asks for restaurant recommendations, this is where we recommend. Their menu is so perfectly curated and delectable, and has something for everybody! Very excited to try this next new rotation of menu items (although I still miss the brie apple flatbread desperately, she has lived in my heart since removed) — and cannot WAIT to try the Thai Peanut Pasta and cocktails! If you want spectacular service, a cozy atmosphere, amazing and unique food, and to feel as welcomed as any restaurant could make you— come here! Mean Dean’s is the largest gem of a restaurant you can find and we absolutely swear by it. I once told Dean that the food was a “spiritual experience” and this still rings true. PLEASE come here!!!

First time at mean deans. Seen them at local events and figured id give it a try. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant. I had the smothered clicker which was good but them mashed potatoes you have to get. PJ was our server and was great. Never let our drink go dry and was honest with his recommendations. Def going back to try the short rib dish.

The place was not too terribly busy, plenty of empty tables. Food took a long time. My friends food she said was delicious and perfect, she got seafood linguini. I ordered a steak that was not cooked to my liking, and meat had a funny taste (just slightly past expiring). Waitress didn't come back until we were both done. So I returned the steak and requested it be removed from the ticket. They did not charge for the steak. I will not return. As quality and service do not match prices.

Mean Dean's Local Kitchen is an absolute gem and a well kept secret for many Manatee County residents. The dining room is newly renovated, they have a full service bar and the local home made dishes are fantastic and moderately priced. Dean, the chef and owner, usually comes and talks to everyone as they dine and the staff makes everyone feel welcome. Mean Dean's is a can't miss winner!!

First time coming here. Absolutely will not be the last. Wife got the butternut squash ravioli - said it was the best she ever had. I had the award winning gator chowder. Phenomenal and the pulled pork Mac n cheese. Delicious. Also - first bar I’ve found that carries the Pathfinder- the finest NA alternative for cocktails on the market… and they made an amazing cocktail. Service was wonderful. Crowd was friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

Drinks were good and so was spinach artichoke dip. Thinking yum couldn’t wait for our dinner. Ordered the special rigatoni with meatballs and sausage. The meatball was so overcooked it crumbled. The rigatoni was like mush. The sliver of sausage was the same. Husband had shrimp and grits. It was so salty he could barely eat it not to mention the grits were lacking and far from creamy.

Visited a couple days ago for lunch and had an amazing meal. Our waitress was great, food was even better! We will definitely be back for more. We had the ribs and pulled pork mac n cheese, both were seasoned well and cooked perfect. I don’t write reviews often but this one is well deserved. Couldn’t recommend this place more! Also side note they have great portions we both went home with go boxes, and they didn’t even make it to dinner.

This was our first time at this restaurant. Just in time to join in the fun for their 2ND TUESDAY TRIVIA NIGHT!!! What a BLAST!!! We met Dean himself, who was personally greeting guests. He was very mean! (🤣🤣🤣) Our server, Linda, was very congenial and attentive. We will DEFINITELY BE BACK!!! P.S. If you're not into trivia, I'm sure the front side of the restaurant would be more to your liking. 😄 The food was great ... anywhere you sit!!!

I brought my granddaughter to lunch today and we were greeted by the owner. She had not had the pleasure of eating at Mean Deans. I asked about a sandwich that I had recently had as it wasn’t on the menu today. Our server Ashley said no problem let me ask if he can make it for you. He graciously agreed and we both ordered it. It was a pesto chicken sandwich and was wonderful. Thank you for another great experience.

We visited Mean Deans with two friends for the second time last night and everything was spot on. Waiter and bartender were attentive and friendly, the food was delicious. My boyfriend had the lobster lasagna and I had the blackened redfish. Deans is worth the 40 minute drive and we will definitely go back.

I googled “places to eat” while staying on longboat key for my 37th birthday. Mean Dean popped up and between the reviews and pictures I was sold even though it was a 30 minute drive from our resort. Once my family and I arrive, we were greeted by the host and quickly seated. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing and the food aroma had us drooling from the minute we entered. Our server, Linda, was extremely kind and went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. I must say, it was very hard to choose a plate. This was the first time we ever stared at a menu and could not decide what to eat because everything looked amazing. We started off with the swamp snack as an appetizer- delicious is an understatement. We then ordered our main course. I had the osso boco along with my son, my husband had the sirloin Siracusa, and my twins enjoyed their plate of buttery noddles and cheese. The food was amazing- from presentation to taste and I must say their serving portions are in ample amount. To conclude our dinner, our server Linda made my birthday much more memorable by having a birthday card signed by all staff in the restaurant. This was the most touching gesture I’ve ever had while dining on my birthday. Thank you Linda. I’m very grateful that we made this choice and went out of the tourist sites to come check this place out. Whenever we come back to visit we will definitely come back and keep trying new items off the menu. If I can give it more than 5 stars- I would. Until next time!

I found Mean Deans through reviews when I was looking for a place to get some yummy seafood for dinner when I was in town for just a few days. The reviews were spot on and I enjoyed my quiet dinner with yummy food and even better service by Linda. I sat in a quiet corner booth by myself and enjoyed the peace but Linda always made sure I had everything I wanted/needed. I had the blackened redfish with rice and beans. The fish was fresh and flavorful. Will definitely return I am back in town.

Food blew us away it was so good. Get the salmon and don’t miss the ribs. Meadow was the best server we’ve had in a long time: fast, friendly and caring. A new favorite restaurant for us!

Updating our review.. two years later and Mean Deans is still a favorite! The fresh full bar drink menu is fun and creative. I enjoyed the Wildflower Spritz and hubby had a margarita. The burata appetizer is a fun addition to the menu. We ordered the special Chicken Cordon Bleu and a filet with blue cheese. Everything was on point and our server, Sierra, was delightful and attentive. We've had many favorite meals at Mean Dean's! The food is incredibly creative and fresh and the owner, kitchen, and staff always aim to please. It's a little bit fancy and classic mixed with your neighborhood go-to comfort food.

Mean Dean’s is our favorite local treasure. Food is fantastic. They make you feel at home. Cannot recommend enough. Picture is my personal favorite - Cedar Plank Salmon. Favorite wine: Squeeling Pig Sauvignon Blanc.

Visiting from Indiana and found Mean Dean's on Google. I'm glad I did! The prime rib was melt in your mouth tender. Meadow was helpful, kind, and very attentive. I told her I sent my wife a pic so she knew I ate well tonight. Meadow said "if you give her a call I tell her for you too." I loved it! Everyone from the hostess to the servers were so nice! Real foodies beware. This place is highly rated by people who only use salt and pepper when they cook at home so this food seems amazing to them. There’s nothing mean about the food, it’s the owner who’s Mean which is nothing to brag about. Yuck yuck yuck.

Visiting from out of town and found this intriguing place on google. Very happy we did! The atmosphere, the service, and the food were all excellent. Waiter PJ had some great recommendations as we started with garlic escargot and the atomic shrimp appetizer. Entrées were fish and chips, pulled pork tacos. The portions were great for the price. The sides were seasoned well and flavorful. I didn’t take a pic of the food as we were to hungry and I honestly forgot. Highly recommend!

Amazing food, service and cocktails from start to finish. Linda took such good care of us! Get the Short Rib Thai Pasta! It is amazing. Also tried the Lobster Ravioli, the smuthered clucker and the sirloin sarcusa. Everything was fantastic! We have been coming here with my grandparents for a few years and it was so fun to treat our friends to a great dinner!

Everything was fantastic from our drinks to service and food. The Marsala meatloaf and garlic mashed potatoes were amazing! Sierra took the best care of us. We ended up with mandarin orange bread pudding was fantastic!
