I went to that place to order some conch. The dude up front said that it cost $52 for some conch. It's $25 in Miami. Why is it double in Tampa? The food is over-priced. I don't recommend it.

Check prices before you order; the price for items on the online website are incorrect. The prices were too high for the quality of the food. The Griot pork chunks were over fried. I was trying to find a place that cooks good Caribbean food, but I haven't found it here. First and last time ordering from here.

Food was good I ordered groit red beans and rice with picklies and plantain with extra side of oxtails gravy juice to put on my groit and red beans and rice it was all so good try moms you will guarantee to enjoy the food.

We were craving Haitian cuisine this evening and so we Google searched "Haitian restaurant" and Mom's Haitian Cuisine and Bakery came up on our search. The food was delicious and the service provided by the owner, Edward, was professional, yet friendly and he treated us like family, the way Mom would have wanted it. The restaurant is clean and tidy and is set in a nice quiet tranquil location. Thank you, Edward for the great food and for creating the warm, family vibe that adds an extra special ingredient to your fine Haitian Cuisine. Mom's Haitian Cuisine and Bakery will never disappoint. We cannot wait to return to Mom's again.

Mom’s has the best griot in Tampa and that’s not up for debate. There was ample griot portion, and the griot (fried pork) had a good acid to it (if you know, you know). Also loved that they did not mislead the griot portion with a bunch of fried fat. The fried plantain was phenomenal, I have no words.

This place is a joke. They have no up-to-date menu. The gentleman there will pull a price out of the air. Asked for one item... he said give me 18.00. Asked for fish, he said give me 45.00. I walked out the door.

I have had better tasting for lesser price. The black bean sauce tasted burnt. Food had way too much sodium and acid.

The food is so tasty and flavorful! We drove 1 hour to visit the restaurant and were not disappointed. You can tell in every bite that the chef cooks with love and care. This is my new Haitian spot!

so i called for an order of oxails. was told to wait about 30 mins cause they needed more ingredients… i waited. it came rice rice and beans.. they were cold. the oxail was ok.. it wasnt like tender how it shouldve been.. they were big pieces tho had flavor but not enough pieces at all for my cold plate of rice and beans.. paid around 35 for the plate too.. so i just felt scammed and my time was wasted.. they would’ve felt the very same way

My first time trying Haitian food and they did not disappoint fried Pork is delicious!!! Edward had great customer service, very clean and the hospitality was great!! 10/10. If you never had Haitian food this is the place to go! Updated review 5/23 Had the stew chicken, it’s so good a full of flavor and tender. They never disappoint!!!

So, we were in Tampa and got a major craving for Haitian food. We checked out a bunch of spots online, not fussing over the drive as long as the food was worth it (based on the reviews) and wouldn't break the bank. We ended up picking this one place that looked promising—good reviews, decent prices, all that jazz.My hubby placed our order when we were about 18 minutes out. Got there, and... nope, food's not ready. But hey, no biggie, stuff happens, right? We went for 2 lare plates of legume with white rice and black bean sauce, and a medium one. The bill hit us with a whopping $83. Hubby's like, "Why's this costing us an arm and a leg?" Turns out, the online prices weren’t the same as in-store. I was about to say, "Let's just leave," but he decided to roll with it.Well, we get home, and it's a bummer. The food was just meh, and the plantains were a greasy mess—not cool. Heads up to anyone looking to try it: double-check those prices and maybe lower those expectations a bit. Buyer beware, for real.

The Griot was outstanding, freshly prepared, and truly flavorful. I enjoyed Mom’s Fresh Griot alongside Legume and white rice, and can attest to its freshness and delicious taste. Contrary to Mr. Beauge’s review, my experience with the same dish was exceptionally positive.

As a fellow Haitian I would not recommend this “place”. Worst restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. The cashier was extremely rude. The place didn’t have Haitian patties and the food was cold. To make matters worse, Zero restroom, Zero menu to order from, Zero AK100, however cashier enjoyed 100 % of his conversation on phone while ignoring customers. I wish I could give zero star ⭐️.

Came here on my trip to Busch Gardens and told myself I absolutely had to stop and get some Haitian food so I gave this location a chance and man am I happy I did so the food is made fresh daily, the portion sizes are omg GREAT and the service is accommodating and exceptional I think it’s safe to say anytime I’m ever in town Moms Restaurant is a must for me

UPDATE- OK I could not leave because it smelled so good I waited 20 minutes. The owner came he stepped out to pick up his wife. He has been having internet problems and been waiitng for Frontier. The phone is connected to the internet. We sat and chatted for quite awhile talking about Haiti. He couldn't fill my request but the conversation was well spent........................I'm here right now 450pm like another reviewer @jeu_dith posted you can smell the good food. I knocked no answer. The TV is on. I tried to call but it says "this number is suspended please try later". Says on the door open Monday to Saturday 11am to 9pm. I'm waiting for a few more minutes. I promise to update the review if I get through today.

I have tried to come to this restaurant 2x. The hours posted say open from 12-8pm... i came on a Saturday 2 weeks ago> sign reads open - door locked. Just left there on today 2.10.2024 at 2pm.. hours posted 12pm- 8pm - sign reads open- you can smell the food... Door locked. Knocked- no answer. Voice-mail- full.

I first learned of this awesome gem 5 months ago after moving from Miami, FL. I’m so happy I found this restaurant - it’s always clean, the Owners are always pleasant and smiling, and the food never disappoints!! My favorite dish is the Griot complete dinner - it’s always fried to perfection and the rice and plantains are always fresh. I go at least 2-3 a month and hooked forever🙌🏽❤️

This my 3rd time coming here. Maan this is my go to for griot and the owner is very respectful. I plan to try everything on the menu UPDATE! This is now my 7th time, the food is consistently good. And the portions are so good you can share a meal with another. I’ve had other Haitian food in the Tampa area and this by far is the best!

My oldest brother has been telling me about this places for months. Just returned back from DC and decide today was the day me and my wife try it out. We got the Griot Dinner and when I tell you!!! 10/10!!! The food was amazing, hot, and extra fresh. Pikliz were really good and very spicy!!! The Pork was so tender and perfect with the oxtail gravy!!!! They have a new loyal customer!!! Highly recommend this place!!! My only regret is not coming sooner. Thank you so much for the great customer service and amazing food!!!
