Soup, salad, rolls and broiled seafood platter. All very good. We were too full for desert but as we were paying and I see the cakes and pies in the case I asked how much for the chocolate cake. She gave it to me for free for Father’s Day (plus it was their last night open as they are now closed until September. We will be going back.

Family run restaurant with nice Ambience. The service is warm and friendly specially the server “Mia” The price is very affordable for a quality home cooked meal. We spent double the amount for sea food in Orlando for lunch. Driving from Orlando on Highway 17 we came across this quaint little place. Don’t miss it.

The salad bar has less items now.

I never complain about my food and I hate leaving bad reviews or anything of the sorts but this is unbelievable my burger is raw not medium rare or even close and not to mention it smells like shrimp/fish does no one take into consideration that people are deathly allergic to that?

Not to thrill with th shrimp over yellow rice.rice was over cooked.

We love this place. The food, the people, the looks. We love it so much. We even had our wedding here on 12/30/2023. They were all so great and helpful to pull that day off. Thanks to the owners and all the staff.

It may appear to be a hole in the wall place, but the food is excellent and more than makes up for the outdoors appearance. The staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Will definitely be going back.

I would have liked to have seen this place in the 40's, as I'm guessing it's as old as me! I had checked it out on GMaps before coming and saw the salad bar and Cuban. I had the Cuban and Ruby had the Reuben. Both came with fries. Declined the offered soup as split pea is a no-go for us. The sandwiches were good. Ruby said the dinner roll was delicious. The refrigerated dessert case beckoned Ruby, and we shared a piece of coconut cake. I didn't get the waitresses' name, and it wasn't on the bill, but she was friendly and efficient. This place is probably popular with the locals.

The all you can eat fish and chips was such a deal. The grouper was flakey, fresh out of the fryer. The salad bar was okay. Our server was friendly and efficient. The negative star is because on the way out, a medium sized roach ran by the table, and the view of the kitchen showed the dinner rolls were sitting out on counter next to the microwave— which explained the dinner roll having a hard portion on it.

How do you say no to all you can eat fish (grouper) and chips AND salad bar? You don't!!! Lol

Salad bar no longer has cheese, olives or bacon bits but website shows pictures it does. My wife had chicken that was way over cooked. I had scallops that were like rubber. It's a great atmosphere but lacking the basics. Hope they get it together soon.

On the salad bar you had everything to make a pretty decent Greek salad and I had a feeling there may be some Greek ownership of the Nicholas Family Restaurant I'm just taking a guess here there's a lot of Olives so you know and they do a lot of Italian and Greek food and those are basically in a sense I'll kind of based on Greek food anyway I was torn between eating this beautiful grouper and they also had some wonderful veal options and I ended up settling on the fish but I definitely before I leave town we'll have to try it again it's a wonderfully interesting place

Overall, this restaurant was just ok for me. The food left me wondering if it had been cooked/reheated in a microwave. The soup tasted like it came from a can. The service was mediocre at best. There were fake plants hanging EVERYWHERE, over the salad bar, over the tables, everywhere. It made me wonder if I was going to get a dust bunny falling in my plate. I could hardly even smell my food because of the overwhelming smell of cleaning products near our table. Definitely won't be returning

Outstanding service. I would give it 4.5 STARS if I could and 5 STARS if the onions were better quality. Smallish salad bar came with the meal but the selection was fresh. Can not say enough about the outstanding service. Good ice tea.. Meal was cooked according to my order. However the onion and gravy topping left much to be desired almost like some of the onion skin made it into the pot. If you are in the area worth the experience.

We visited this place when it should have been open. It was closed and showed no signs it will be open again.

First time visiting and will definitely be back. The salad bar isn't extravagant but it has enough variety to make your plate interesting. I had the Friday special meatloaf (on Saturday) and it was still pretty good. I was going to get the spaghetti but I don't prefer Greek(ish) spices in my meat sauce. The Reuben my mother in law had looked delicious and the steak tips with onion and pepper over rice my father in law had looked good, too. Kids burger with fries hit the spot for my little one.

My family and I used to love this family style restaurant. Haven't eaten there in quite a few years, think last night's experience will be my last. The restaurant in general has gone down from the dirty vines hanging over you while you eat to the substandard food quality and preparation. It's a shame when the only way you can get your medium-rare New York strip steak down is to coat it with steak sauce. I don't know what has changed in their business, but it is too expensive for what you receive.

The food here is excellent. I ordered the stuffed grouper grilled, baked potato and AUCE salad bar and soup. The salad bar was huge with everything you can think of on it. The soup was turkey and rice. I highly recommend eating here everyone in our group of 12 enjoyed their meals. 2👍up!

On Tuesday April 4th 2023 a group of 15 men stopped at Nicholas for lunch. Suprise, the restaurant had a paper on the door saying they were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Wow, on Google maps and Nicholas website it says Mondays closed but it still showed they were open on Tuesdays, matter of fact it showed the open. We found another restaurant that accommodated us and we held a meeting about boycotting Nicholas Restaurant. 100% pasted for the boycott.

We had eaten at this restaurant once before and liked it well enough to come back a second time. The service was adequate and the food was good, but one thing happened that shouldn’t have. It was about 3:50 pm and the hostess sat us down with lunch menus. After we had decided our order, the hostess came to our table and exchanged the lunch menus for dinner menus, with no apology, and the entrees we were ordering were $2 or more higher The hostess should have honored the lunch menu prices. Did not sit well with us and probably will not go back.

Great place, for a small town. Food was great. The decor could use some magic, pretty dated. Wish it was a little brighter, and fresh and brighter lights. Would probably get more business from the younger crowd and the older. Like I said food was great, everything on the menu is good.

Soup, salad bar outstanding. Was there for lunch Sunday was busy. When we left there was standing room only out side the door. I told them it was worth the wait, they all said they that was why they were there.

I had a guest from out of town, and we had a very pleasant experience.

The food was good ........but they need to do some SERIOUS, SERIOUS SPRING CLEANING !!! ABSOLUTELY FILTHY, the blinds the hanging decor and especially the bathroom walls , stalls and the garbage cans 🤢makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like.

Fried chicken was great! Chicken fried steak was ok. Salad bar was really good with a lot of choices. Loved the Greek salad, of course. 😁 Service was excellent.

Party of four visited for breakfast. Western omelette (with sausage instead of ham) was perfect for sharing with my wife. Also shared the 1/2 order gravy biscuit. Very good. We were given the option to have home fries deep fried 'till crispy. Good option. Plus a friend ordered a biscuit "grilled". What an amazing difference grilling a biscuit makes. Friendly server, clean restaurant. Enjoyed it very much and will return!

The salad bar and bread were decent. The ranch seemed homemade which was weird that they don’t even make their own tartar sauce. Like who doesn’t do that? I don’t get that at all. The fried pork chop was ridiculously bland. And the price for one small pork chop is RIDICULOUS. Potatoes and gravy seemed pre made. Hubs fries came out cold and hard. Never seen a restaurant not put list their sides on their menu. The only reason we came here was for fried chicken. They waited until after I already already gotten my salad to tell me they were out of fried chicken for the next 2 days. I would have just left and went somewhere else. Honestly as bland as the pork chop was the chicken would have been just as bad. Service was good but I will not return here. Too many other places in the area. Told the girl running the register how bad the food was and she honestly just didn’t care.

I came here with a group. We all enjoyed our food. The staff was really friendly. The place was clean.

Salad bar was great, I had salmon, it was over done, dry and hard. Baked potato was not good. I have been there many times, this is first bad experience, maybe new cook?

It was our first time there. Honestly, the outside doesn't look great, but the reviews were outstanding, so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Food was amazing! I had stuffed grouper. My husband had fried grouper fingers. His grouper was crunchy on the outside and melt in your mouth tender on the inside. My stuffed grouper was just as delicious. Soup and salad bar came with our entree. Salad vegetables were fresh. Soup was delicious. Definitely recommend this place. Don't let the outside fool you. The inside is clean and beautiful.

Only place in Wauchula we will eat. Always great service. She was great to our grandkids.

First time going. They were open for Thanksgiving. They had a very wide variety of options. I enjoyed it.

We were seated in the booth next to the kitchen-very noisy! Salad bar had few choices. Waitress never returned to us after serving our meals, or I would have returned my grilled, tough, tasteless shrimp. Husband's stuffed grouper was good. Would not return for an overpriced meal.

I went here with family members while visiting the area and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was good and the staff was very helpful. The food portions were large and priced nicely. I will actually go out of my way to visit again. Well done!

I've been going here for years when passing through Wauchula. This is just a neat little family style Greek type restaurant. Perfectly decent salad bar that you can get tacked on to your meal which by the way I had the gyro. I love those things and it's just as good here as most other places. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in lunch mode when coming through wauchula.

The restaurant was quite busy but we were seated and the waitress got our drinks right away. The have a ton of lunch specials. 2 for the stuffed grouper and said it was very good. I got chicken and it was good. The BLTs were fat and juicy and the spaghetti was good also. The waitress was very good, experienced, and personable. We had a nice experience and I never saw the bill cause 3 others were fighting to pay. They also have a soup and salad bar that comes with the meal. You get both, plus sides. Good value. Good sized portions

It is a small family run restaurant. They have a very nice menu with many options. I had the BEST homemade lemon, chicken rice soup I have ever had. My entree was grilled seafood and it was cooked PERFECTLY, the scallops were tender . It was the MOST delicious dinner. If you are near the restaurant make it a must stop.

Came here after work on a Tuesday evening. I ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. It was good. My main entree I ordered was a stuffed grouper with crab meat and it was delicious. My other half ordered fried clam strips and no complaints on that end either. Our meal came with hot fresh rolls and the soup and salad bar. Always enjoyed coming here to eat. Oh and I also had a side of spaghetti because that did come with my meal. Plenty to eat here for sure.

Stay away. Probably closed anyway.. not open when your website says your open. Tired of wasting money on gas...food and service gone way down hill. Used to be our favorite place to eat. Never again will we eat there...
