I went into there today and no one wears gloves. That’s disgusting. I couldn’t even stomach to eat my tuna sandwich after that.

I go to Obee’s all the time for lunch, and their steak and cheese sub is a winner! Tender steak, melty cheese, and fresh bread—can’t beat it. Highly recommend!

These guys are awesome! Better than Jersey mikes and Publix. The best around.

We enjoy Obee’s subs, but this location is quick and the staff are always happy and friendly. They make a lunch or dinner run hassle less stressful. We don’t mind going out of our way a little to eat in or carry out!

I ordered a half sub, potato soup and soda. It was fresh and the soup was great. All the ingredients were fresh and I will definitely be back again.

I can't believe this place has such good ratings. We got 2 subs, one was the roast beef. A mile long roll. Little roast beef, cheese cut so thin that you could see through it. Tons of lettuce. It was awful. 2nd sub was steak and cheese. It was made with cold meat, raw onions and pepper. Really! guy?? You grill all that together.

We live in North Port but have had very busy lives over the past few months. My husband and I decided to take a ride to have a sub and as always the sandwich was outstanding and well worth the drive. Nothing like supporting a family run buisness. Never disappoints!

Way better than key west subs. "Half" size sandwich is plenty big. Twelve bucks for a combo with chips and drink. Can't beat it

If you are used to eating in any of the big sandwich chains, a trip here will remind you what a sub is actually supposed to taste like. The food was delicious and it was also a pretty good overall value for the money.

This place really... I mean REALLY needs to visit Jersey Mikes. Learn, study and understand the game. Then... GET RID OF YOUR BREAD SUPPLIER!!! AND DO NOT LET BREAD SIT CAUSE YOU DON'T SELL ENOUGH.

I absolutely love Obee's sandwiches. Everything is fresh & delicious. I only knocked 1 star off because they don't offer a Cuban, which is my favorite sandwich lol! But seriously...you can't go wrong with Obee's. I love the #1 and their soups. I love the potato salad. OH...I wish they'd add bologna as an option too because I love a good ham, salami, and bologna sandwich! Great local people, great sandwiches, and the BEST bread. I prefer Obee's over Publix.

They make the best subs I've ever had.

We were super pumped to check this place out. We are visiting the area on our honeymoon and both love a small town sammie place. The gentleman was super polite right when we walked in the door and was welcoming and helpful. We chose our subs and he began to make them. I saw he was slicing everything fresh to order and my eyes lit up with excitement. But then I noticed he was handling the entire whole piece of meat in his bare hand along with the slices. No gloves even in sight. Then he sticks his wet meat hand into the tub of lettuce that was a little sad looking to begin with, but we were going to look passed that. I just cannot do the no gloves. A recent USDA study shows that 97% of Americans do not wash their hands properly. The bacteria under your nails is incredibly dangerous. Staphylococcus aureus, which can cause skin infections like boils and abscesses is the most common, and many people suffer from staph infections due to it. This place is dangerous and I’m bummed we didn’t get a good experience. Do better.

Obee's has the best subs in town Period.. Bread is so soft and fresh it melts in your mouth along with the rest of the sub ..The meats they use are just as or if not better then boars head and the size of the whole sub is enough for my lunch and the rest for my dinner that night..We lost our Obee's in Charlotte Harbor cause of Hurricane Ian and I was so excited when my boss pulled into the parking lot cause I knew I was getting the best sub in the County and was gonna have a great lunch..Try the SpicyBird it's my favorite Thanks Obees

Order Italian that was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a large chicken noodle soup that was very watered down. It literally taste like water and small hint of broth.. 3/4 of it was straight liquid, barely any noodles, chicken or vegetables in it.

I ordered a Italian sub and got a ham sub didn't check it while I was there got home 8 Mi away wrong sandwich I paid for the other though and when I told him about it they got upset with me a lady that I think was the manager was quite rude

great place good prices usually. but not today I got charged 16 dollars for half a sub and a small soup. now I usually get a combo with a drink for less but for some reason I have to pay more for less . not happy 😒

The size of the whole sub fed Ralph for lunch and dinner! He liked that the cheese and meat options were sliced in front of him and all selected ingredients were fresh. The next visit we will cut the sub in fours for a beach picnic!

I went here to support a small business instead of Pub Subs. Next time I’m in the area I’ll just go to Publix. I was VERY upset and grossed out that the employees DO NOT wear gloves. The employees were not very friendly. My sub was your average sub with the same if not higher price of Publix. Next time go to Publix 3 minutes down the road.

This was my first time ever going to this Obees. I ordered and they were getting my meats and cheese ready where I couldn’t see them and then they moved the sand-which down the line to add vegetables and condiments and as I said pickles I saw the lady grab the items with her bare hands. I couldn’t believe my eyes especially in the times we are in with Covid. I then asked if she had gloves to wear to remake my sand-which as I did not want her bare hands touching my food. An older lady heard me and said this is standard policy to not wear gloves and she can prove it. I then proceeded to explain I’m not okay with it and I would like her name to wear gloves and not to touch my food with her bare hands. The older then told the younger girl to wash her hands and put gloves on and then I watched the lady wash her hands not for the standard 20 seconds but for maybe 5 seconds and then the old lady said can’t you see she’s washing her hands and I said yes I do but to be honest the way she washed them didn’t clean them. You need to scrub for at least 20 seconds which she did not. The older lady then got a nasty attitude with me about it. I would HIGHLY recommend staying AWAY from this place. You could become very sick

Sandwich looked good but I was shocked in this day in age that everyone who handled the food not one wore gloves. I would have felt better buying a sandwich if their bare hands weren’t touching meat bread and veggies.

subs are ok nothing special they also don’t wear gloves at all and when asked about it you get nothing but eye rolls honestly so gross very dirty can’t believe it passes health inspection this place should be shut down🤮

The best sandwiches and the nicest people! Just wish they opened sooner for those road trips! A large for 10 can feed 4, if you aren't a pig! But sometimes we are!

This is by far the best sandwich shop anywhere. They slice your meats and cheeses for your sandwich while you watch. The large sub isn't 12 inches...it's 16 inches!! Tons of veggie and sauce options. And to top it off this monster of deliciousness was less than $10. So so so delicious. We'll be back often.

Hands down the best sub shop around!

Normally a really great sandwich shop. I do have one complaint and It's about something that's been pretty consistent lately. I have been going here for years and don't mean this review to be a negative one. For a while now I'm getting sandwiches where the meat is not very cold. Cold cut subs/sandwiches should usually have cold meat on them. I usually get something with turkey on it and the turkey can be slimy at times and not very cold like you think it should be. They cut the meat on a per customer basis and the meat is taken from fridge to slicer many times throughout the day. This is what I suspect the be the cause for this meat issue. The meat comes out of the fridge and is touched soo much that it's warming up and degrading slightly. My opinion is that Obees should start cutting their meat like publix does. They slice it and lay it out on plastic sheets for a full size sub. When the sub is ordered they take it from the fridge in the plastic and unfold it onto the sandwich. Or cut the serving in the plastic based on the sub size ordered. This way the meat is only touched twice and stays in the fridge cold until it goes on the sandwich. I really like Obees but have been not going as much for this reason. Maybe it will change. New review 5-3-21: This place is falling apart. They changed their supplier for some of their veggies. They are no longer using Mt Olive products at the Englewood store. The new pickles are yuck and most of the peppers (banana and jalapeno are are sliced weird and mostly seeds. They are terrible). A lack of quality in these new items. I went in today and they are understaffed as usual. Everyone running around. Seemed like the only person who knew what she was doing was the girl slicing the meat. This shop has the potential to be one of the best sandwich shops south of Sarasota but it seems as if it just wants to fail. I don't understand. It's like there is an entity holding this place back.

Amazingly great sandwiches. At a reasonable price for these days. If you want a fresh built to order sub, New York style; this is the place to try. The counter girls that build the sandwiches are super nice.

Great subs, salads and soups at reasonable prices. Friendly and courteous workers. They wear masks and wash their hands continually working with your food.

I just went here on my lunch break and despite them being slammed, as always, they were pleasant as well as efficient. The bread is always fresh and the meat and cheese is sliced right in front of you! Great quality! Great price!

The mother and daughter team are amazing. I went in not knowing what I wanted. They made the most amazing and delicious roast beef sandwich I had ever had.. They are truly a great dynamic duo.

These are 18" subs, stacked high with your choice of fillings. Meat & cheese sliced fresh for each sub. Anywhere from 2-4 servings, depending on your appetite. Also serving soups & salads.

Best subs in Englewood hands down!!! I door dash them frequently and have never gotten a bad sub. You get your money's worth forsure. Only thing I wouldn't say is bad just not my liking is their potatoes salad is a little too sweet. Other than that everything is super yummy.

Best kept sub secret in Englewood and Venice! Best local sub shop I have been to in FL. Bread is very good and so are the meats.

Fabulous, just fabulous. You will find this little sub shop in a mall that looks like there is no other shops open due to the store closings but it is so worth finding. They slice the meat and cheese to order for your sub. So everything is fresh. They also have soup and chili when we were there. I had a soup and a quarter of a sub. It is a very busy place at lunch time. There were a few people who placed their order over the phone for pick up. Also remember they are cutting the toppings fresh so please be patient in line. They do have some tables inside the shop and a couple of tables outside. It is accessible for those who need it and lots of parking. This is obviously a local favourite so be prepared for the wait at mealtimes.

I would not recommend the Englewood, FL Obee's for these reasons: THE WORKERS DO NOT WEAR GLOVES when preparing your order, there is zero customer service, the atmosphere is non existent. Most people take their subs to go, but the "NO GLOVE" thing is unacceptable. Yuck. Publix subs for me in Englewood!

Yes Obee's Subs are the Best Subs and they have great Salads too where any Sub Can Be. A. Salad is that cool and my Favorite Sub is the Spicey Italian sub and they have good soups and chili there is that. 😎

These subs are loaded and are larger than your average sub, There is a great selection and the bread is awesome. Expect a line at lunch time but the wait is worth it.

The sub tasted like candy. Five star.

I like their tuna melt, or cold with lettuce, tomato and oil/vinegar. Also their Italian is quite good too.
