Great atmosphere, food, and service!! There was the cutest elderly man playing the accordion and singing, he was absolutely the highlight!!! We can’t wait to come back!

Usually we go to Tampa to dunderbak, but was over this way for appointments. And let me tell you! This is German food, the taste of the potato salad, the sauerkraut was on point! The pork knuckle was tender and moist the pretzel and dipping sauce. Everything was so good! 10-10 will be back again! leckeres Essen!

Really excellent and authentic German food and beer. This is a hidden gem. The food was great and came out quickly, and the service was nice and friendly. I’ve been to German multiple times, and this food is very authentic. They take reservations, but you might be able to walk in on week nights without one. I’d recommend the sampler platter for a little bit of everything.

Pretzels were okay at best food was okay

Loved it, I'm from Berlin and I really enjoyed the schnitzel and sausage platter! Be sure to get the curry ketchup. Friendly service and good beer, we'll be back!

I recently had a friend visiting from out of town, and we decided to make a stop at Edelweiss. As always, the food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was delightful. Our server was absolutely wonderful; she provided excellent care and was incredibly kind. Although I can't recall her name, she made our experience truly enjoyable. (It was Saturday early afternoon). I will definitely be returning to this place because I love it! Additionally, it's fantastic that they offer a vegan option. Highly recommended!

Amazing food, great atmosphere, absolutely delicious

First timer, service and wait staff were excellent! Food was authentic! I gave atmosphere 4 instead of 5 only because it seemed a bit dark and clumsy. I will certainly go back for the beer and food!!!

My husband and I had dinner for the first time at this restaurant to celebrate his birthday. Our amazing server Megan was incredible! She was spot on, had a great personality and went above and beyond to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! We will definitely be coming back here!

Went there for a birthday, and was surprised to see this place. We must have passed it a hundred times in our travel. The portions were huge and very tasty. I believe there is music out in their garden during the week day evening. The waitress we had was delightful, and fun. We will return.

We had a delightful lunch in Edelweiss' beer garden. The lunch special was Wiener Schnitzel, which we both ordered and enjoyed very much. The meat was super tender, with a wonderful crust and tasty gravy. We also ordered a side of Spätzle which was done to a perfect crisp texture and very tasty. Only problem was that the place was busy and had just a single server, so service was slower than I'd like.

This is a fun atmosphere with a very friendly staff and super delicious German Food.

We were unsure which German restaurant to try and I believe we picked the best one! We went to Anna Maria Island for the day and knew we wanted German Food. Edelweiss was an excellent choice for our family. Cute restaurant, such a lovely server and the food was delicious!

I live in Sarasota (east of 75, more like southern Lakewood Ranch) and made a pit stop here en route to attend a St. Stephens girls lacrosse game and the food was amazing. I loved schnitzels since I had them in Vienna last summer and am blessed that there are so many German restaurants in Sarasota and Bradenton areas. I especially loved the live accordion music that made me feel like I was in Europe! I will attend a few more St. Stephens girls lacrosse games so I will definitely stop by here again.

Great German Food. I enjoyed the Stuffed Mushroom appetizer and the Sauerbraten plate with red cabbage and Schnitzel. The food was excellent. Polka was playing on a tablet. The place has a festive and authentic feel. It needs to be cleaned up a bit, lots of random things in random places. Parking appears to be an issue. Be mindful not to park accross the street, you may get towed. Six beers on tap, authentic German beers all served in proper mugs. Try and pay no mind to the exterior of the building, walk in the door and act as if you were in Germany on a trip in a small town at a family owned restaurant and you will have a great experience.

When we walked in, we were greeted and seated quickly. Megan was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu. The food was pretty good. We ordered the Hunter Schnitzel, potato pancakes,stuffed mushrooms, beer and cheese soup. ALL was tasty, warm and good-sized portions. We drank the raspberry iced tea and a Heffewiezen. Both served cold and were tasty! Definitely going back. Give it a try.

Fun place with an accordion player and lively waitresses.

This was our first time but not the last. The place is small and the beer garden nice. The menu covers all the basics . There is a good selection of beers and wine. The food was delicious and the service was great. The accordion player kept the place jumping. A really nice gem .

Finally, a German restaurant worthy of the title Edelweiss! While it’s not rare and high up on a mountain top it is singular in its execution of top notch German fare. For the meal my wife had Hunter’s Schnitzel with spatzle and a lemonade. Fork tender delicious mushroom gravy and the spatzle was the best we’ve ever had. It was prepared as usual boiled but then they pan fried it in butter and parsley. Perfect texture and delicious flavor. Also the lemonade tasted like homemade not some powdered mix swill. I had the bratwurst with German potato salad and sauerkraut. Oh all of it was divine. The potato salad had just the right balance of sour to sweet and the texture was perfect. Further the sauerkraut was divine as well. Plenty of bacon in it and the flavor was on point. Finally the bratwurst was perfectly prepared and paired well with the brown gravy. I also had a German beer Hacker-Pschorr Munich dark right out the tap it was delicious. Be forewarned reservations especially for the dinner meal are recommended and the parking is very limited here. Last note, although they were short staffed today Jackie was a delightful server even with the whole place on her plate. Thanks for the great meal!

If you enjoy german food, live music and excellent beer YOU MUST COME HERE! The food and atmosphere is unique. Have you had a 2 liter boot of beer and still had the ability to clear your plate? That is a testament to how good the food is. There is no question, if you’re in Bradenton, Florida you have to check this place out. Das Boot.

Very understaffed, had country pop music playing in the background, did not have any dark beers available, served super pretzel microwaved pretzels instead of what we were expecting from a german place. Other items were okay, but from how my friends had raved and raved about this place I will not be back.

Awesome little gem of a restaurant in downtown Bradenton.

The food was excellent. I had the Hunters Shnitzel. The music was great and everyone was having a good time. It's has a very small seating area so reservations would be a must since it's very popular. The only problem is that it has a very small parking area, probably not a problem off season.

Real German meal complete with German accordion music. The downside of that is that the interior of the restaurant is small and the music was way too loud. Had to yell at our tablemates. They have a beer garden but it's close to a road so a bit noisy too.

Overpriced and the owner (who is also the singer) is unbelievably rude if you laugh or talk too loud for his liking while he is singing. Just look at how they respond to the negative reviews. Food was ok, but not worth $30 (I didn’t get a drink). Save your money and go somewhere that cares about people and providing good service. EDIT… the waitresses said the singer was the owner, so they are the ones giving that information. Food is ok not very good. Entertainment is included with service and I can assure you that not one patron would give this restaurant a very good rating if the restaurant entertainer treated them like we were treated. It was one of the most awkward and rude experiences in a restaurant. I probably wouldn’t have bothered giving a review but I was taken back by the owner response on my friend’s review. So rude…can’t deny that’s from the owner.

I was publicly embarrassed when a couples anniversary was announced (60th 🥰 so cute, the whole restaurant clapped and congratulated them, myself included) the German singer announced the couple came there also during their 50th anniversary. He went on to play a song but didn't announce this was a special dedication nor did he ask the patrons to be silent. While talking with my friend he stops mid song and asked me to keep quiet, then upon finishing his song - speaks in the mic again drawing all attention to me saying I am now allowed to speak again. The gentleman had been singing our entire meal and all patrons were talking for our whole meal. I was so shocked. EMOTIONAL DAMAGE. So I apologized to the couple I wasn't made aware of this dedicated performance and left in absolute horror 😭 Edit** Thanks for uninviting to place I'd never pay to go again. Had you responded with any type of apology or steps you would take going forward to never embarrass future patrons you'd have been left with the niceity of my 1st review. :) emotional safety in a public place far outweighs okay food. Have the day you deserve. - THANKS

Schnitzel was excellent..server was great and had some live music as well

It was a wonderful time here today! The Mrs and I started with the potato pancakes. These were very good. The Mrs ordered the Hunter's schnitzel and she could not say enough good things about her dinner. I ordered Kaiser schnitzel but changed it to veal. I also opted for spatzel in place of the mashed potatoes. My choice was excellent. For a while, I thought that I would be taking some of it home, but it was way too good to try to save! A marvelous dinner. Service was excellent! I used "excellent" a lot because it is. Go to dinner here!

You need to go during the week to truly experience the atmosphere with the music and singing. The food is an absolute treasure trove of flavor and delight, you will be truly impressed.

Wife and I ate here on a trip back from Sarasota for lunch. We had potato pancakes and both got hunter schnitzel (one chicken one pork). This hands down is the best German food we have ever eaten, and we’ve been to Germany. We do wish it was closer to our home because this would be a staple for us. If you live in Bradenton or are passing through you must stop here. We will definitely will be back many many times. 10/10

Food was terrible, had the pretzels, for being a German restaurant you would think the pretzels would be awesome, they were like out of a box. I had the bratwurst, it was just okay, dry and flavorless. No bun/roll just sausage on plate with sourkrout, German potato salad was average. Service was good, but manager just tried to make excuses for bad food. Beer was warm. .

Son gave me a gift card to Restaurant Edelweiss due to my heritage. Wife and daughter were not looking forward to dinner as they do not like German food. In the end, we all left happy and want to go back. The atmosphere was great. Staff was friendly and attentive. There was an error with our order, and it was corrected quickly. The beer cheese for the pretzel was a "WOW, that's good"! The schnitzel was very, very good. Potato pancakes reminded me of the ones my mother made when I was young. Would definitely recommend it!

Horrible Horrible! From the get-go. Went for lunch. Atmosphere on patio, horrible from their fake flowers to the traffic buzz. $8.00 beer was warm. Pretzel was out of a box from Dollar Store! Husband had bratwurst and not great at all. Save your $ eat at home

Very Pricey but the Schnitzel was huge. Waitress was very nice and even spoke German.

This is a great little German restaurant that truly understands its heritage. The food is very authentic. They have a good selection of food and beverages, the taste and feel is the keeper. There is a quant inside with a rustic feel that makes you think you are is small town in Germany. Then there is a great outdoor space where you can enjoy the food and weather. I would recommend this place for small groups and couples.

If you want traditional German food beer and atmosphere then you need to make Edleweiss must stop....

Durch Empfehlung von Einheimischen, haben wir das Wagnis “Bavarian Cousine” auf uns genommen. Auch wenn die Küche und das Service-Personal sehr engagiert sind, hat das Essen geschmacklich leider gar nichts mit der traditionellen, bayrischen Küche zu tun. Ein Weißbier im hellen Glas ist ein No Go. Das Bier schmeckte abgestanden. Wir haben Schnitzel gehabt und haben nicht mal die Hälfte davon gegessen. Dafür war dann der Preis doch sehr stolz, sowohl für das Essen als auch für das Bier. Auf das Essen haben wir fast 1,5 h gewartet.

Water glasses were on the table when we sat down. All 4 glasses at our table were dirty with finger prints and lip prints. EWŴWW Food was so-so. Ordered the Black Forrest Cake. Icing was good, but the cake was dry/stale. Plus it was $18 for 2 large slices. Over all this was a one and done.

The atmosphere is awesome. The beer is cold and authentic. And the food is amazing. The pork shoulder with horseradish is 10/10. If you are coming for authentic German food and beer with a side of fun, this is the place.

The atmosphere was hopping and lively. The music was fantastic, sung by a genuine German singer. There was also plenty of dancing to the music by the customers and professional German dancers. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the hunter schnitzel with creamy mushrooms sauce with french fries and I also ordered a side of the German potato salad. The Hunter schnitzel was very crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside. You also get a huge piece. It was so good that I ate the whole thing but there is plenty to share. There was a nice variety of German beer. They had bathrooms on the inside and also on the outside. There were vendors as you first walk in selling many different German items and handcrafted items as well. If you want a place to experience German culture in music and dancing in food and beer, this is the place to go!!! There is street parking across the street and on the side streets. We parked across the street in a handicap parking spot and the owner of the business was very nice to let us park there, no problem and there is also parking across the business on an empty lot.

Authentic German Food and atmosphere

Usually this is one of my favorite German restaurants in the area, but went recently for dinner and the food was horrible/didn’t taste the same. The schnitzel and German potato were not good, and usually they are. The schnitzel is usually tender and has a lot of flavor, but this time it had no flavor and the breading on it was not good. Same with the German potato salad, usually I love it but had no flavor/wasn’t good this time around. Maybe they changed recipes/chefs recently, will give it another try at some point.

Had no idea this restaurant even existed. Quant little place hidden in Bradenton. The food was good, although modest portions. Good selection of beer and wine. Servers were busy. You need a reservation on weekends to be sure you can get a seat. Overall a cute place that's worth a try.

Just had a great experience here. We happened to come while they are celebrating their 11th year and even with a full restaurant the service was fast and fun. Server Megan (I believe) was on it!

Absolutely my favorite restaurant... great service..great food.. I love the red sangrias and the pork chops are my absolute favorite!!! I tried the other German restaurant lucky frog in Bradenton also and it was nowhere near as good as this one is..scart that it was awful! I come to this restaurant at least once a week sometimes even more than once a week it's just that good!!!!!!

For those interested in the short version of the motivation on why I left this review for Restaurant Edelweiss: I don’t know if I’ve EVER had better German food in my life. For those seeking the in-depth motivation for this review, please allow me to try and leverage all my literary abilities and deploy every adjective in my vernacular in an attempt to do a justice to this wonderfully authentic German experience… THE FOOD: 5 stars out of 5. Not fancy, just exactly authentic and beyond satisfying for what my expectations were for flavor, presentation, and potions. There are an abundance of schnitzel choices, varying proteins and all the German veggies you hope for… the potato salad and purple cabbage are my fave. For the protein you absolutely cannot go wrong with the Cordon Bleu schnitzel. While I was having their lunch portion and enjoying the explosion of flavors on my experienced palate I closed my eyes and it felt for a moment as-if I was in Germany. THE PRICE: 5 stars out of 5 for value. This place isn’t any more expensive than a decent steakhouse. $20 for a great lunch and probably $30ish for dinner. Great price and there’s not been one time I’ve opted to save money instead of getting this place EVERY. TIME. I. CAN. THE ATMOSPHERE: 5 of 5 stars, not lacking anything I would want to experience for a tremendous meal and experience. This place is clean, they have a beer garden, the people and service are wonderful, the chefs are apparently trained by only the best German chefs in the history of everything ever… just that good. CONS: none worth dinging an overall 5.0 rating. If I had it my way maybe they extend hours. If they do that though, the chefs probably wouldn’t be as happy and you can tell they’re clearly really happy when they cook their food because it tastes that good. BONUS: I’ve been here a lot, both for dinner and lunch. Every time the food is equally enjoyable and memorable. DO ALL YOU CAN TO CATCH THE LIVE MUSIC! They have two gentleman who play multiple instruments (different nights, they’re not a duet) and interact with the crowd in a manner all ages and walks of life enjoy. Lastly: I don’t think I’ve ever wrote a review quite this long. I’m not going to go back and proofread it because this has already taken forever. Just know I was motivated to write this thesis because of how good this place is. Why aren’t you there yet?

These people are wonderful! We took my dad here for Father’s Day and the workers there were so friendly and accommodating. Their organist played him a song too. Food was great as well, seemed very authentic.

Very flavorful and huge portions!

The food was spot on as it always has been. EDELWEISS is experiencing problems like everywhere else since thenl Covid Pandemic. They opened late for lunch (1:30) due to staffing problems. We were told the cook had to come in late and the waitress was a friend of the owner.

The most authentic German food in the area. The people I interacted with at the restaurant were friendly, approachable, and eager to help. The restaurant was clean and had an inviting atmosphere. Live music is featured in the evening. Reservations are highly recommended as the restaurant is fairly small, and in high demand. There is outdoor beer garden seating. Takeout is available and was ready when promised. Will be visiting again! Parking is limited. Do not park across the street! Signs saying you will be towed!
