Stopped in after the drive from Kentucky and got the best service. Super cold beer and the shrimp po boy was perfectly cooked and delicious. Great kickoff to the vacation. We will be back!

I called in a pick up order to Rick's and they were very prompt and professional. I got the fried shrimp, which was very tasty. However, I also got the smoked tuna dip and it ok but not as creamy as I would have expected a dip to be. It was rather dry, since I was eating at home I was able to dress it up to make it taste a little better.

I had high expectations for this place reading other reviews. Waiter was friendly, that was the only good part to the experience. (EDIT REQUESTED BY OWNER,nor sure how to reply, my apologies) Raw Oysters were dry, steak meal was not seasoned at all, crab cakes are not lump as described, they taste like deviled crab.(I don't complain about these things due to I don't like to complain, we just wont be back)but then to make matters worse, I found something in my crab soup( possible a cloth wrapper of some sort, it was not plastic). Manager came over and said they would remove it from the bill extremely quickly and rudely like it wasn't that big of a deal and she had more important things to deal with, never have I seen such horrible customer service. Again the waiter deserves 5 stars, he was pleasant and friendly. The food and customer service was a huge bust for me.

Rick's is like that place the locals go to and that's not a bad thing. Service was great, everyone was very friendly. Had the crab soup, which was very tasty. Also had grilled fish, slightly overcooked but had a good flavor. I'd definitely go back.

Great 1960' s atmosphere full of locals. They come for the company and consistent good, fresh and tasty, reasonably priced seafood served with great service.

Service is awesome usually. Every now and then there's a server not attentive. But it's not most of them.

Ricks is a must best raw orysters and fried shrimp in town. We ate there 2 xs during our stay. From the outside appearance we was hesitant ( Don’t judge by appearance ) The food was awesome..

Our first restaurant to eat at here in Florida and it exceeded our expectations! Food was delicious, specially the raw oysters because they’re fresh, drinks are good and the dessert!?…. The best key lime pie I’ve ever had in my life (must order). Kiki is super kind to us and on the top of her service. Thank you Kiki!

We loved this place. It is off the beaten path and seemed populated by more locals than tourists. Our server Aisha was friendly, the restaurant had a good vibe, and the food was great - hot, fresh, tasty. We got to go pie which we haven't had yet, but it is definitely pretty. 🍰💜

We had a fantastic dining experience! The seafood was top-notch, with especially delicious oysters and shrimp. What made the evening truly memorable was our server, Kiki. Her warm and attentive service made us feel right at home. Thanks to her, we really enjoyed our meal. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing. Best seafood I’ve ever had. The outside may seem like it’s not much and you can barely notice it from the road. But the fresh caught seafood and homemade desserts make this place a MUST HAVE while you’re in Destin. You must try the grouper, steamed platter, and key lime pie! Don’t forget to ask for Keke. She’s a great server and was very helpful and on top of everything!

Food was great, but it took 40min for a spinach dip appetizer to arrive, then another 25min for our entrees to arrive. Our entrees were a steamed platter for myself and a bowl of creamy crab soup for my girlfriend.

This place is IT!!! It looks like such a little hole in the wall and unappealing place when you pull into the parking lot but let me tell you, looks are DECEIVING!! This was the absolute BEST place we ate on our whole trip. I had the crab legs and shrimp and my husband had the crab cake and fries shrimp and we also shared two orders of oysters. The oysters were huge, definitely not lacking. And they did not lack in taste either!! They were also very decently priced as well. The crab legs were so freaking meaty and delicious! And the shrimp was probably the best shrimp I've ever had! They were huge and so juicy! Everything was seasoned so perfectly and nothing was dry! The crab cake my husband had was very moist. The sweet tea was super amazing as well! We will definitely make this place a returning spot for our future trips. And our waitress Kate was a breath of fresh air! She was so real with us and not fake at all. Plus she was on top of everything with getting us what we needed, even when a rush of about 20 tables came in all at once right behind us! You NEED to make this place a priority on your list!! If I could give it 10 stars, I totally would!!

I have been coming here since 2014. We would come here every few months while living in Gulf Breeze. We moved in 2020 but continued to visit the area and made a point to come here. I have never had an issue. 5 stars all the way. But, today, I am saddened. The food was great as always. The atmosphere was awesome, like always. But our server was a different story. She was curt and inattentive. It is so sad that there haven't been any issues, not once, since 2014, until today. She even attempted to drop off the check without prompt when I wanted to order more. Angie is her name. Had to ask for ketchup. No plates were given. Wish she was more attentive. Spent a lot of money here over the years. If you don't want to work here, don't. Just don't ruin something for this establishment. Thought about trying again and coming back but she just dropped off check again without me asking for it. ****update***** The owner is addressing the issue. Can't wait to come back in a few months and enjoy the best food on the Emerald coast.

Was on vacay tried a lot of restaurants and this by far was one of the best ones we ate at. Service was excellent from the door to the seats nothing but smiles and friendliness. Food was excellent it was hot and fresh. And the dessert was homemade my son had the keylime pie and I had the bread pudding and it reminded me of my grandma's. If you want a place that makes you feel welcome with fresh food this is a must stop when visiting the beach.

Okay let me just say, me and my boyfriend tried a lot of the top tier/reviewed restaurants, this one is by far our favorite! Our waitress Megan was the sweetest, very knowledgeable of the menu, and was very helpful!! I will request her everytime I come! This restaurant made me feel like I was home and super comfortable! The food was phenomenal as well!! My boyfriend got the Dungeness crab and shrimp steamed plate and I got the Captains plate!! Goodness I absolutely devoured it!! The fish, crab, oysters, and the shrimp was fresh and tasted excellent!! I also had enough room for dessert, Megan’s mom makes the desserts there and I had the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting it was delicious and so decadent! My boyfriend got the keylime pie as well and he LOVED it!! Let’s just say this is our new favorite spot. Me and my boyfriend won’t just come back to Destin/fortwalton for the beach it will be because of Ricks!! So if you’re looking for a nice home style, southern style take on seafood this is the spot!! 🙌🏻 All the stars go to this chief and his amazing staff/employees! Feel like family there!!

I love coming here from time to time. The are never slammed packed during lunch so it's a nice area to eat and relax at the same time. They have awesome specials on food and drinks. The server was nice and got our order correct. The food was out quick and tasted amazing!

The food was amazing. The seared Ahi Tuna was delicious, the fries were cooked just right, and the fish bites were amazing.

This is an awesome restaurant not on the main strip so wasn’t crowded! The food was amazing, from kids chicken strips to the crab and shrimp platters, the server and the rest of the staff was absolutely awesome! If you’re looking for family friendly, great fresh seafood try this place out!

This place has gone way downhill from a few years ago when it was on the water by the bridge onto Okaloosa Island. Same pricing as the tourist trap restaurants with poorer quality food. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Great little resturant, great food and great service. My daughter and I split the steamed crab and shrimp and both were full. Husband got oysters and blue crab claws. All the food was amazing.

We stayed at Destin RV next to Rick’s! What a great place, friendly staff, great menu and food. Live music too. Try the Mama Mia pizza! The meatballs are homemade. Great shrimp too We will definitely come back when we visit the area again.

We ordered grouper nuggets and the soft shell crab dinner with cheese grits and onion rings. Grouper nuggets - Unseasoned, soggy, and undercooked, almost like they were steamed after frying. (my wife could not finish them) Onion rings - Terrific Soft shell crab - undercooked and not cleaned. I shouldn't have eaten them, given after I did I had to go outside to get air and got sick in the parking lot. Cheese grits - Inedible, very obviously old, burnt and scalded tasting. Fries - Terrific The restaurant itself also felt very dirty, as was our table. We told the waitress about our issues with the food but I guess while I was outside my wife spoke with the manager who removed the grits from the bill but that was it. The bill was not the problem though, the price is fine if the food was good. Would not recommend to anyone. Our waitress was very nice and helpful.

Came in fromout if town from Oklahoma City for a little vacation and decided to take the family to Rick's Crab Trap and I couldn't be more pleased my server and food..Christine gave the best service she didn't let anything Unturned on top of that the food was amazing we all had something different Burgers, Seafood, you name it..a little of everything..all of it was amazing for sure recommend and if you go ask for Christine you wont be disappointed!!!

Highly Recommend Rick’s Crab Trap! We are visiting from San Antonio, TX and found this place on a whim driving around looking for a local, non-touristy food spot. It was delicious and our waitress Keke was most helpful and friendly.

Recently went here for dinner. Ordered king crab with shrimp & the crab was over cooked and dried out. The waitress changed out the king crab for snow crab and some of the snow crab claws were cold. At this point I was done complaining about the food and have decided not to go there ever again. I also felt the food was a bit over priced for was we got. My husband and I had been to this place about 5 years ago and the food was excellent back then and reasonably priced. This place is not what it used to be.

STEPHANIE IS THE BEST!. Always love the local feel of this place. You are only a stranger the first 5 minutes and then you are one of the regulars. Pay homage to the Hero's Chair - permanently reserved for the original PJ CMSgt Aaron Farrior.

Well respected local establishment that has a great variety of seafood and other home crafted dishes. Stephanie provided outstanding service keeping the glass full as if we were the only patrons in the place. If you're looking for a representation of FWB pub history and excellent seafood to match, this should be your next stop!

Stephanie gave excellent service and catered to all my family's needs. Fast service with no long waiting for our food. Desert menu offered homemade key lime pie. This is an excellent seafood restaurant.

We looked everywhere online trying to find local sea food, we decided on this one. We felt skeptical at first but it ended up being a great experience.! It ended up costing more than expected because of the menu not being updated on the website, but all was fine because we are on vacation. Kiki was our server and she was great! She definitely did a fantastic job and would go back just for her service!

Updated review: Came back to Ft Walton and on the first full day went back to Rick's 🤣 Was as amazing as the first time and I added one new Pic to show that I ordered the crab legs again and you can see they look exactly the same. Consistency is a beautiful thing. They do their thing here and they do it well. Previous Review: We have been here on vacation all week and tried many good places, but this place is the best to every one in the family unanimously! The food here was so good and our server, Asia, was excellent. Food was also quick and cooked perfectly. One other thing I loved was that a lot of the artwork on the walls was made of bottle caps, which I thought was a really great way to recycle.

The food was delicious and staff was friendly. It is reasonably priced and has several different menu options to feed everyone. This place has the cheapest kid menu options I have seen all vacation.

On our second to last day of vacation, we wanted an "off the beaten path" restaurant to sit down and enjoy the local flavors away from the crowds. We found Rick's Crab Trap on Google Maps looking for seafood. We're glad we did. As with everywhere else in the area, the portions are large, so take an empty stomach and be prepared to share food. I ordered a steakburger, and my wife ordered a shrimp platter. We were barely able to finish eating, and I don't think the kids ever did. The staff are friendly, the environment is clean, and the atmosphere is good.

Rick’s has the best seafood and lunch special in town! The service is quick and friendly every time we go (shout out to Kiki!) You have to try the fish nuggets. So delicious!

Customer services was subpar. Crab and shrimp platter was ok (for my taste). Hushpuppies were brought cold, taken back, and dropped back in fryer. Returned warm and extra greasy. Fried platter was just ok. If the service would have been better, I would have given it a third star.

We stopped by on our trip to Fort Walton Beach on Saturday and then again on Sunday. Instead of going to a restaurant chain we chose this locally owned and operated restaurant. It did not disappoint. We ate fried shrimp, Crab cakes, Boom Boom shrimp tacos, and onion rings. All was very good as was the service and friendliness from the staff. Awesome place!

I ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell. They were too tiny to even taste. And they were expensive. / After your response: There should have been compensation in the quantity or price! Next time I’ll choose somewhere else.

Loved everything about this place! If you are staying in or near Fort Walton, you have to stop in for the creamy crab soup! Everyone enjoyed all of the entrees they had. One of the best Happy Hour prices we've come across in the area. The service from our bartender Christine was phenomenal! Highly recommended!

Great food and great service! This visit we ordered the special of day, Mahi and Shrimp with fresh veggies, some gumbo and Rick's famous nuggets. Everything was fantastic! As a Certified Master Chef, I highly recommend you pay a visit to Rick's. The food is prepared and cooked with TLC. Again... Great food and great service!

The crab stuffed grouper was not good, nor the grouper nuggets. The Crab soup and Gumbo was amazing. The grilled shrimp was good just not flavorful The oyster Rockefeller was good. The crab cakes had good flavor not much crab in them and very flat. I wouldn't recommend

Me and my boyfriend love to come for date nights. I get a nice glass of wine and he always tries a different cocktail. We’ve had a bunch of different menu items over the years and we haven’t had anything we didn’t like. My favorite is probably the blacked seafood pasta. We love the grouper, salads, gumbo, literally everything. 10/10 recommend!

Literally the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to, and I’m a local. Take my word. I would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered a Tito’s and soda. There was no soda, flat water. Ordered shrimp steamer and the crab steamer. The shrimp was edible, not good. The crab came out cold and unseasoned (just like the half of a corn on the cob, tiny broccoli floret, and half of a potato) so we sent it back and said we didn’t want another. They brought another crab steamer out, hot in temperature and attitude, not just attitude but threatening: saying they wouldn’t take it off the bill because we ordered it. We didn’t eat it, left it on the table and paid the bill. Do not go to this restaurant. I don’t know what’s worse, the food, or the gangster mentality.

Hello can from Tallahassee to see what it was about not good at all I had shrimps clams and hush puppies fries sweet tea all were very nasty wasn't cook long enough the breading fall off the shrimps wasn't done a hot mess never again

Nice lunch restaurant. Grouper and shrimp were amazing. Great options for fried seafood. Our server was nice, however the service was extremely slow for a lunch time. Food did turn around quick from kitchen once placed but getting greeted, drinks, placing order, getting boxes and bill, to cash out was delayed. Only reason I would be hesitant to bring lunch guests here again while in town.

We had just missed the dinner rush so I guess that was a good thing. The food was pretty good for a place we found off google lol. We wanted to eat like the locals and this place didn’t disappoint.

I recently dined at Rick's Crab Trap and it was fantastic! The restaurant has a cozy coastal vibe and the seafood selection is top-notch. Whether you're in the mood for a classic seafood boil or something more adventurous like their stuffed flounder, you won't be disappointed.

Crab soup was full of shells, $26 Parmesan grouper fish was supposed to be blackened, had no flavor and over cooked. First time I have ever seen my husband put tartar sauce on fish! The fact that they had a bottle of tartar sauce on the table should speak for itself… $14 Chicken salad was three small pieces of Walmart tenders, again over cooked, on brown wilted spring greens. They did sprinkle some bacon bits on the brown lettuce but I didn’t try them. Crab cakes looked and tasted like the chef got a can of crab and smashed it flat. One waiter was complaining about his job to other guests and our waitress, good and attentive is the only reason I gave this review any stars. So many other delicious restaurants in the area don’t waste your money here!! Edit- I did send the food back but declined the waitress offer to have the food prepared again after reading the owner’s response to other negative reviews. Walmart chicken is the dried bland chicken pieces they leave under a heat lamp all day. I Should have read the reviews more carefully as there are several mentions of brown lettuce, over cooked and bland dishes. And if you don’t serve bacon on your chicken salad I am very concerned for what those brown pieces were in my food!! I really wish I would’ve taken pictures. A note To the owner you should take a good look at your negative reviews and learn from them. Don’t get all on the defensive and get so mad, all that does is make you look like an a@! Your staff need a leader, someone to teach them how to properly prepare food and what shouldn’t be sent out to a paying customer.

Cool diner type place with a real local feel.

Good food, great game day specials and very friendly staff. However, some of the uber-regulars are very rude. They act like they don't like new people coming in, they gossip around the bar and whisper about you like little grade school girls and I felt like saying "we're right here people!". Additionally, the guy with the greasy hair and the tacky Tampa Bay shirts was extremely rude to one of my very good friends. I've been here many, many times and it's always the same bad vibe. Would love to continue going here but don't feel welcome and probably will not return to spend my money.

We had the steamed bucket for 2 plus 2 dozen additional steamed oysters. Clams, mussels, jumbo shrimp, oysters, crab, potatoes, corn on cob, broccoli It was just the best. Maybe the easiest 🦀 to get all the meat out ever. Very fresh & crisp, easy to crack. Service was exceptional. They always are. I recomend going between 2 to 4 as it is not as crowded. Can get very packed evenings & weekends. Well stocked bar. Great bartenders. Multiple TV's. Just a great atmosphere. They also have a separate room for larger groups. You will NEVER go wrong here, Closed on Tuesday.

We came here for dinner. I ordered the catfish with fries. They give you plenty which is shareable. It came out fresh. Baked oysters was good. Steak was ok, they give you steamed veggies which is corn on cob, stalk of broccoli, and small whole potatoes. Veggies was good but they didn't season them they just steamed them only. Overall food was ok. Limited parking we had to park across the street.

The staff was great and happy to be there as well as very informative about their menu which is always a huge plus. The atmosphere is casual kick back make yourself at home type of feeling and there's a TV to view anywhere you sit.

We've always enjoyed this place. This time not so much. The server was loud, argumentative and kept calling me MAMA. Brought the wrong beer and said she would take it off the bill, but didn't. I got charged for two beers. I've been in food service all my life. Never experienced service as UNCOMFORTABLE as this. We were told we were getting a platter for two...it had one cluster of snow crab which was DRIED OUT and one piece of corn and a potato and a half. The oysters were ok and the shrimp was good but this was NOT a platter for two. I spent 89 bucks and had to stop by Burger King and feed my grandson. Never again.
