This pizza hit the spot! I’ve been meaning to try them since we moved here two years ago. And finally order two medium pizzas . It was delicious!!!! Definitely felt like a pie from Brooklyn! The crust was so perfect! I will be a regular now

Brings me back to my local NYC pizzeria in Little Italy Bronx. I am NYC picky with my Italian food and the food excellent plus the lady at the front is New York without being demeaning. Props to the servers also.

Finally... we've discovered a pizza that we actually enjoyed.. 5 stars all around..

10/10 every time. Food is always fresh and hot and the service is great! Super clean and fast! Love it here. Easily the best pizza around!

Love this place. I've been eating here for 14 years. Spaghetti and chicken parm are my go-to items.

It was our first time here and we enjoyed it. The history of the restaurant and its owner is interesting. I had the lasagna and enjoyed it; the sauce was just right.

Food is ok ….stale bread….very expensive 70 for 2 for just lunch ….typical Ocala high price mediocre food….Carrabbas much better for less money

Had white clam sauce over pasta. The clams were not diced but they were like rubber. Good flavor.

Absolutely delicious! The sauce is exactly like my grandma's (Cosenza, Calabria). I had the house special which came with bread and a salad. Also had the Stromboli which was just as good. It was packed with pepperoni, sausage and cheeses plus the dough was baked to perfection. Our server was very nice and took good care of us. I will certainly be back. Thank you for the flavor of family!

WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN THE PIZZA WA THE WORSTE PIZZA UNDER COOKED AND NOT VERY MANY TOPPINGS THAT I ASK FOR AND CHARGED $50. AND WHEN I SHOWED THE MANAGER SHE HAD NOTHING TO SAY SO I TOLD HER WAS NEVER AGAIN WILL YOU TAKE MY MONEY !

So good. We loved the stromboli, house special eggplant, and mozzarella sticks. And the canolis, 🤤!

I was in a slight hurry, not much. Stopped by Sammys for a "large iced tea." I was given a medium cup and charged $3.88. That was my last visit there. IHOP, just down the street, charged me $3.79 for an iced tea once, as well: my last visit there, as well. I make my own tea at home. A 24 count box of FAMILY SIZED TEA BAGS are less than these two.

What a great find!! Wife and I were shopping and were referred by an employee at one of the stores here in Jasmine Plaza. Absolutely delicious!!! Our server she was knowledgeable about menu and very nice... First time here so we had the garlic knots and ordered a 2 item pizza and also had the delicious soup. The flavors and freshness was evident.... I was told by our server that they offer a 2 slice cheese pizza and a can pop for $5!!! What a great lunch deal!! We will return to try the rest of the menu!! Great little place!! What a great surprise!!

I am.from the Bronx, they by far have the best pizza and food in Ocala! I order a Sicilian pie last night for the first time. It reminded me of my family's recipe. Unreal. The people working there are the best.

Amazing Pizza, Amazing People. We hurried all the way from the beach to get here before close and we made it. Amazing treatment from the Amazingly sweet woman at the register and guy who was making Pizza's going over and beyond for us. I just love being around Amazing people. #1 Best pizza in Ocala. Ohhh and the bread n oil never made it home haha. Deffinetly gonna be a good night!! :)

Food is okay and the service and atmosphere needs help but for a laid back place its not bad for a pizza and a beer. All restaurants in this area are laid back and not elegant like back north the food quality and management and pride in your work is gone here in Florida. Its like no one cares anymore no matter what they do. But I will return to this place without a doubt and prices aren't to bad and I think the menu needs updating from main means to desert.

Should be called LA Familia!!! Good hard working people eating good food. Garlic wings with real garlic and lots of it. Stromboli amazing! Chicken parm next time as that looked amazing. We will be back

Got the meat lover's pizza. We loved it.

We bought dinner for my Father in laws birthday. The spaghetti and meatballs my wife and her dad had, were excellent. My pizza was over cooked. The slices were barely edible. The ends were so dry, my dog didn't want it. I think next time, we'll go somewhere else. After having given this place another chance, I order pizza from here weekly. It's amazing. If they overcook the crust, they replace it. No questions asked.

Pizza has gone down in quality over the years but prices have gone up . Ive gotten sick twice now so not going back.

Wife and I got 2 pizza's, 1 Sicilian and 1 regular 16 inch. Both pizza's were extremely excellent. Garlic knots and salads were very good too. I think we have found our new go to place for pizza.

Love their pizza...Tho we went last week, hubbie goes in pay for pizza it wasn't ready, ,,, 5 minutes later another guy walks in comes out with a pizza, my husband opened the door, the guy walks out and the lady says I just gave ur pizza to that guy, so we had to wait for them to fix another..😉 Don't u ask for names b4 u gv ppl pizza. So that guy just got a FREE pizza on us.

I ordered chicken parm and it was not good at all

This was such a yummy, authentic Italian eatery...my husband had a Stromboli and it must gave weighed 5 lbs, I mean it was stuffed with meats and ricotta cheese,but you can change the cheese if you don't like they original way. I had a small salad,it was ok, and the fried calamari appetizer...my husband is not a seafood guy and he said it was the best he's tried and actually ate it with me... then i had a dish that was like a lasagna with ricotta and motz cheese layered with eggplant 🍆 😋, oh they bring bread to the table with butter, so so good!! We each had 3 meals off of what we ordered! Sorry I forgot to get pics. After that go across the parking lot to the cousins Italian Gelato and pastry place for dessert. It was so good. They had make everything. And will let you try every flavor.

Love Sammy's pizza and their dinners are great too never had a bad meal.

Tried Sammys Italian restaurant recently I am sorry to say I have to compare ot to your grade school cafeteria! Tried the salad which was llack of product old lettuce and to top ot all off the onion peel was the most noticeable item in the salad ! Ordered lasagna amd it was pasta swimming in sauce meat was very hard to find next to invisible no taste or genuine Italian flavors, wife ordered stuffed shells which were under cooked and rubbery also swimming in tasteless sauce. Bread roll aren’t rolls! is a tiny loaf that appeared to taste and looked frozen and heated. After returning the shells waitress suggested a different t pasta we decided on a small Pitza which might as well have ordered from the Publix freezer amd would have tasted much better ...it was also runny cheese and sauce ( o taste) seems like the restaurant is big on low quality products We have been to a variety of Italian restaurants in Fort Lauderdale and New York Sammys isn’t New York Pitza at all So sirry apparent the person who recommended this place has no idea of what Italian flavors should taste and smell! It was a let down we will continue attending a more popular Italian restaurant in the area which is usually very busy snd has great Italian food. .Conclusion: NOT RETURNING SERVICE WAS UNDER PAR. If you like this food best of luck

After moving to Ocala I accepted the fact that I wasn't going get good pizza anymore. Then I found Sammys. I still miss my NY pizza but Sammys was definitely the best in Ocala. Especially Sicilian.

Everything was good. My friend had the angel hair pasta with garlic and oil with anchovies added. He said it was delicious. I had the penne pasta with Alfredo sauce and Broccoli though it was good I thought the sauce was a little bit thick. All good. Very nice people. Good food.

The food is good ate lunch there had some ziti and a 🍕 bowl of pasta fagoli the sauce was like my g mother's ain't seen it like that n that color since nana made it for me with the hot fresh bread . I liked so much I went back for dinner very next night just for some stuffed macaroni with eggplant n ricotta. I seen it and was jokeing ......... Could ate three servings of it fact with there steaming hot bread I'm going for lunch again for some pasta fagoli. FACT. BET

Best pizza so far on Ocala area. Really tasted like New York style 😋. Made me feel like I was back home in New Jersey/New York even though Florida is my home now and I love it here.

I want to start off by saying that this review is based solely on take out pizza. So the sit down restaurant could be different. Anyway, I ordered a large pizza from Sammy's based on a recommendation. Sammy's was touted as having New York style pizza. Although Sammy's was not the best pizza I ever had. It is by far, (so far) the best pizza I have had in Florida. More so in the Ocala area. I'm not saying it is the best. Only that they are the best we have had up to this point. Sammy's actually does seem like New York's style pizza. At least almost. But without a doubt, they actually make good pizza. It is close enough to New York style to make most folks happy. As such, I have given them five stars which I rarely give out. Again, it is not the best pizza I have ever had. But it is the best I have had in Florida (so far). (Edit to add: There is another restaurant that also makes very good pizza. So there are now two I've had) The price was not outrageous either. I paid close to the same price for a smaller pizza (same toppings) from a competitor, just the other day. Nothing is cheap nowadays. But Sammy's price didn't seem like they were trying to take advantage like some other places. So for an actually decent pizza, at a fairly decent price, Sammy's did it for me. I guess that I'm going to have to try out the actual restaurant.

Yesterday I ordered a large sausage pizza. Very short on meat. Only 44 tiny pieces on entire pizza. I won't be going there anymore.. I don't like to get cheated

The calamari was the best we’ve ever had, so fresh. My husband had the special, Spaghetti & Meatballs & loved it. I had Mussels over pasta, fabulous!! Some of the best Italian food we’ve ever had. Will definitely go back. Excellent service too!!

Ordered a large pie half ham and sausage asked for the crust to be crispy. The music playing brought me back to the Bronx getting a slice and listening to oldies and talking about those days with the owner I felt very comfortable there .

First time (but not the last) at Sammy's! They bill themselves as a NY Italian restaurant... Walking in the door and taking a sniff was all it took for me to know that's a true statement! Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu and specials of the day. Our dinner came out quickly and was very well prepared. Pizza might have been a little more well done to have the "NY Feel" that I remember, but it was soooo close that it didn't matter. Prices are very reasonable. Can't say enough about the fantastic staff! Everyone who walked by the table took a peek to see if there was anything we might want or need for our dinner. We will definitely be back to sample more of the menu! Thanks for a great dining experience!

True authentic NY style pizza. Took me a while to find a good place for Italian food. It's out of my way, but I don't care. Sam's is the number 1 place for me to go for my pizza, sandwiches, and dinners.

Excellent experience. The food is good and so is the Pizza. Don't ask for Jalapeños on your Pizza. They will give you the entire jar, covering the whole Pizza with no space to spare.

I can't believe they claim "Italian " food. Tried a Scampi and the DiMare - all of the noodles were just bland like steam. Tomatoes were fresh out of the can. I need to take them to Carrabbas to show them how Italian is done. So sorry but they were friendly.
