Delicious food from appetizer to maincourse and dessert, good seafood restaurant atmosphere. Have had four or five different servers and they’ve always been top-notch.

Service was great but the food was awful. Everything is fried but still tasteless. Also it was expensive- won’t be returning

My husband and I stopped in, but we will not be coming back. The food was mediocre at best. Items that should have been hot were cold. We had to chase down a waitress to receive a menu and water. And the service went downhill from there.

Service was excellent! Wish the shrimp had not been cold. But taste was still good. In fact, everything I ate was excellent! And big portions. The others in the party all agreed theirs was great!

Always have great seafood with friendly service. Specials are always good also.

Made a reservation on 06/05/2024. When we got to restaurant the hostess had allowed ppl to sit at our table. I ask how this happened and all I got was not our fault and they were sorry. I asked to speak to the manager same excuses and we were offered to wait till the party left our reserved table. Called corporate and Lee said he was sorry but offered a gift certificate for my friends birthday that was ruined, but waited 9 days still nothing. This is no way to run a restaurant.

It's a good restaurant, It's just I don't eat fish. And I definitely don't eat fried fish. I had the grilled chicken and it was good. The side items are a little lacking, but that is the case for many other restaurants as well.

Fast, friendly, tasty, clean. I know, I also was pleasantly surprised.

We stopped at Red Lobster last night and they said it would be an hour wait. So we went to Sam’s Crystal River as we were hungry and tired from traveling all day. The food was amazing! And our waitress, Sam, not the owner, treated us like family. Good food Good price. I definitely recommend Sam’s Crystal River Seafood. Next time I am In Tallahassee I will be back.

So I came here for the first time during my first overnight stay and visit to Tallahassee, FL. It was a nice warm day, Nov. 1st, 2023. I ordered the cup of clam chowder. The CA, FO, n FA2 n my good friend ordered corn nuggets, calamari fries, or fried clams (honestly don't remember which), stuffed mushrooms, and crab cakes. I then ordered the seafood boil dish "the low country boil" on the menu. Mmm, one of the best seasoned fresh steamed meaty crablegs I've ever tasted to date. Definitely look forward to another visit here soon. All the food was delicious. The service was okay. However, there was always someone cleaning and sanitizing the tables and chairs. The decor is very Florida, I was told. It would be nice to see some updates done to this restaurant, but w/ out straying from the pre-existing charm it already possesses.

We stopped by for lunch and the food was fresh and hot. The waitresses working were excellent and friendly. Its definitely worth your time to eat there.

There should not be one news channel being played on multiple tv's. It's clear that the manager has a certain political viewpoint, and a restaurant is not the place to force it upon your customers.

Everything needed a little salt

My husband and I stopped here for an early lunch. Everything was great! As we were leaving ( It was just my 2nd day on crutches after fracturing my ankle). I fell soon after getting up from our table. Several people came over to help my husband and I out the door. I don't remember faces or what anyone looked like, but thank you!!

We had planned on a different restaurant which was closed and saw a full parking lot here. What a jewel! Nice family restaurant with excellent food. The shrimp scampi was delicious along with fried okra and a large green salad. They serve crackers with a fish and shrimp spread when you first arrive. 😋 Asked for a second serving of this; such great flavor. A friend got clam chowder and a shrimp with scallops dish. The hush puppies were very good. Key lime pie and carrot cake was boxed up to enjoy later in our hotel room. Wonderful dining experience which I am looking forward to repeating on another visit. Kid friendly type of place.

My wife and I have been coming to Crystal River Seafood more often for lunch. Food is always tastes good, but can be a bit expensive depending on what you get. We usually share the fried trio lunch combo. This comes with two sides, which we each choose one. The meal is filling and we still have enough to take home. Most of the time, service is excellent. Sometimes you will wait longer for the waitress to come and take your food order. All in all, we enjoy the food and the service here.

Hush puppies over cooked and forgot couple of sides, couldn't check bag with the sides cause they had it closed up then she handed me three bags with the straps all twisted up together almost dropped them when she handed them to me. It always something when we go there, well it just not here it's everywhere now. Seem like minimum wage went up the quality of service went down.

Great seafood restaurant at the end of a strip mall. Much more charm inside. Food and service were excellent.

Cozy, not crowded, food was delicious even though the waiter forgot to bring me my baked beans but he put them in a cup so I could take them home with me. Highly recommend this place

Nice place for a motorcycle ride for lunch

There are 2 seafood restaurants in the small town in which I live and this is one of them. I was excited to visit for the first time. I was with 4 other people. I ordered fried fish and clam strips. My fish was not cooked well, and the clam strips were rubbery. The people I was with enjoyed their food. Maybe it was just a karma catch up day for me. Consider the debt paid.

WONDERFUL fresh seafood!!! Wonderful bisque. The food was just great! And the service was really awesome.

I love crystal river!! My husband and I go all the time. I’ve ordered many different things all are fantastic. My favorite is fried catfish, the very best. My favorite waitress is Tabitha. She is the sweetest.!! This our go to seafood place. ♥️♥️

I got steak. My Mama got shrimp. Got a side of crab legs. Everything was delicious!! And our server Bree was the best!

Seated fast and had menus. Sat for 15 to 20 minutes and wait staff never acknowledged we were there. Waitress nearest to to us was texting and look like she could care less about being there. We just got up and walked out with no one asking why!

We arrived here today (Sunday 07/02/2023) and walked in and asked for a table for 3 and the time was 12:33 pm and the young man that met me informed me, very rudely, that I would have to wait and when I asked how long he rudely told me 20 minutes and when I asked him to put my name on the wait list he informed me to go outside and put my on name on the list, so needless to say we left and went somewhere else. Owner needs to quit hiring smart mouth kids to do do a professional’s job. The folks that came in behind us received the same rude treatment. The establishment needs to get there employees under control. As a professional evaluator I do not recommend this establishment to anyone unless you enjoy being treated rudely.

Small restaurant. Great food! I was shocked how fast the food came out. Figured it would be run of the mill fried food. This was surprisingly great food!

The grilled shrimp is excellent! Gator tail, fried oysters, and fried okra are crisp and flavorful. The wait staff are very friendly. Highly recommend eating here!

Tabitha is the best. The Fiesta Scampi would be my last meal if I was going to the Electric chair. So good. We always get great food. But our service is even better.

We were in town for a family reunion. we look for private owned local restaurants. This place did not disappoint. We were a little worried bc they were working on exterior inside was cozy and food was AMAZING all 11 of us were truly amazed by the taste and quality of the seafood. All the kids enjoyed their food as well. A must in in the McClenney area

Food was pretty good, service was okay. We could hear someone in the back of the restaurant raising their voice at employees about cleaning dishes. We ended up taking some of our food with us because we didn't want to listen to what was going on. Our server was nice, but service was slow.

Chris cooked my fiesta. It was the most terrible dish I have ever gotten anywhere. It was loaded with onion and garlic and the scallops weren't cooked enough. I took a friend to eat and including tip spent $60.00. I took 3 bites and couldn't eat anymore. I was so very disappointed with my meal. I should have returned it but I hate to do that. Mandy was my waitress and she is a doll. Great service. I hope the next time I dine with you that I'll get a good meal because I cant afford to spend that much money and go home hungry. Chris needs to learn how to fix a decent meal or let someone else fix the food.

The food was amazing!! Never had scallops melt in my mouth....plenty of food for the money...we brought 2 doggie bags home. The servers and staff are super friendly and they know the menu. Definitely should visit if you are in the area or just make a special trip..you won't be disappointed !!

Strongly recommend the clam chowder. I'd say more of a clam soup than chowder but amazing none the less. They make it from scratch. I've had the bisque too, not nearly as good due to it being shipped in. Came back a year later and had the low country broil. Very good food. Wife had the ribeye.

Fiesta Scampi. Dear God that stuff is delicious.

Employees were very pleasant. Hostess even created a place for me to hang my dripping wet rain poncho, as we came inside from a down pour. We were promptly provided with seating, menus and drinks. Our orders were taken in a timely manner and our food arrived not long afterwards. No complaints from us on our food! Like everywhere, prices have increased though.

This was best service I've ever had the cook Dawn and came out and personally greeted me and it was straight from fire to mouth physically psychologically it was even better. I really felt taken care of everybody went out of their way from The Host Macy to pay the bill even the manager Cassidy make sure I had even the little things dressing for my drink. she actually sat with me in my booth and was concerned about my visit that's the personal touch you just don't get anymore 16,000 Stars this is the best places I've been to in a long time. come one come all and tell him Marvin the Martian sent you. and the entire staff gave me a hug on the way out. Being a truck driver I have eaten many places but this place was the best by far. Will drive from texas to florida again for a meal here.

One of our favorite places! The food is consistently good. We have fried and grilled. Love it!

Took my kids there for a nite out, waited 30 minutes at a table and nobody came by. Place was at about 25% occupancy. So we got up and left. They won't get a second chance from me.

Everything that was fried was soggy. Ordered two blooming onions but only received sauce for one. Ordered five main meals and only received four. Two of the meals had the wrong things in them. Missing four of the sides. My advice is to not order to much for takeout unless you have the time to make sure it’s all there before you leave.

The food wasbgood but you can tell the baked beans were under a heated lamp without being stirred. The waitress didn't check on us much and didn't bother to ask if I wanted more to drink and she had to be catches quickly to ask ( I went awhile without something to drink and was quite thirsty. The amount of food my mom got was pettiful and I offered her some of my food to her to eat. I asked twice that I wanted shrimp added to my meal and the waitress, come to find out, didn't write it down. I discovered this after we got the meal. I had to tell her that I did say it more than once and she claimed she didn't hear me. Same happened when inwas telling her my drink order. I was telling her what I wanted to drink and she interrupted just to ask me what I wanted to drink. I am not sure if she is new as it was my time at that location. She may not be that good of an listener and something that can be worked on...Nothing against her or the establishment. We alway have something that we can work on and better in our own lives. I drove 20 miles to try it because of recommendations of some family friends. I can get better service, atmosphere and food at the location on blanding. I will be going to that one again for now on as I have had better experience there.

They have GREAT food but we had a pick up order and the customer service was not the best.

We've eaten here numerous times over yhe years and ALWAYS get great food and service. It's a small rustic restaurant clean including restrooms. Great experience every time.

Terrible meal. Had to send my steak back and they still couldn't get it right. Then it was doused with something after I specifically asked for nothing on it or any sauces.The shrimp was either over cooked or OLD. Old most likely. And the size was really small. Dining area appeared dirty. Waitress was always busy and out of sight, had to physically get up and find her. I know everybody is raising prices but stop with cutting corners on the food quality. I would definitely not recommend this place to celebrate or even expect a decent meal or a high dollar meal. Sorry guys you blew it.

Filthy! We went in after an apparent busy Sunday afternoon. It literally looked as if the servers were clearing the table onto the floor. There were three servers, and because we arrived about 6:30 pm, I want to give them the benefit of the doubt on staffing issues. Will we go back...no way.

"Plenty For One" Platter was just right. Food came out quickly and was very good.

All food that was ordered was 100% nasty, stuff flounder was dry and spicy I have UC Ulcerative Colitis and only too bites it was not ok. The $31.99 crab legs were so overcooked the meat had to be peeled off the shell. Also missing 3 other items. The so called manager was only offering me 1/2 off the stuff flounder and get the rest of it for remake no charge. Yet I had to drive back down using fuel after ordering doordash, then get attitude from manager. I will never do business at this location again.

I've always got good food from here but LAST NIGHT THE FOOD WAS STRAIGHT GARBAGE AND VERY PRICEY ($25 for shrimp, fries and sweet tea) THAT WAS NASTY. I HAD TO DROP MY RATING TO 1 🌟

I am so 🤬 mad. Called in an order to Crystal River tonight. Looked at their menu online, picked an entree that said it came with garlic bread, salad, and one side for 11.99. Order it, don’t get the side. Whatever, I was going to give it to my boyfriend anyway. Pick it up, and the total is $20?? Whatever. Everything’s going up, and frankly, I gotta eat dinner either way. Just drop it. Drive 30 minutes home, and realize I have two salads and no entree, and just as a little additional 🖕🏻 the dressing is wrong. Soo I call and speak to a manager. She tells me she can offer me a giftcard. I told her sure I can come get that, can I -also- get the dinner I paid for? She says absolutely. So I drive 30 mins back into civilization, and I walk in and my correct order is waiting on me. No giftcard. Manager comes out. Tells me it’s the food -OR- the gift card, she will not do both. Okay but that’s not what you said on the phone. She says “well that’s not what I meant” cool! Regardless of what you meant, that’s what you said. “Well I’m not doing both.” I also wanted to know why I was charged $20 for something that’s listed as $12 on their website. 🤷🏻‍♀️ “Our prices changed.” It would be one thing if this wasn’t what I was told, but that’s what i was expecting for an hour round trip for THEIR mistake. I was so mad I was in tears.
