We loved this place! It is a cute general store with a ton of history of serving local families for years. We stopped for a sandwich and were not disappointed. They serve all Boars Head meats and cheeses, and they make them right in front of you. My wife got a grilled cheese on sourdough, and I got the BLT, which comes with 10 pcs of bacon! The owner was very nice, and the 2 ladies that took our order and cooked our meal were helpful and fast in serving us. Wish we lived closer so we could come back often!

I have been coming here for years. The food is great! I love the chicken salad sandwich. HOWEVER! This morning I came in real quick to use the bathroom and to get a drink. I parked in front of the gas pumps knowing I would be in and out within two minutes. The lady that was there was really rude. She asked if I was getting gas. I said no but I’m getting something to drink really quick. She replied that I was blocking her pumps and they’re for people getting gas. I said I would be more than happy to move. She responded “nope just leave it.” Her response wasn’t kind and I felt like it was just uncalled for. The odds I someone getting gas in two minutes is highly unlikely. Within a few seconds of that encounter, changed my mind indefinitely and I won’t be a returning customer.

Quite literally the best breakfast sandwich I have ever eaten. Every bite is perfect. Sourdough, cheese, egg, bacon, mayo.

The only thing we did not like is it cost us $53 for three sandwiches & drinks.

Small little stop where you can get some great sandwiches and great service. I would go out of my way just to get a sandwich here. They use boars head meat which is great too!

Love, love this place. It's your little country store out of a Hallmark movie. The people there are beyond wonderful. Enjoyed a cup of coffee at the tables outside..... Bought a shirt, had to put it on before I left......Now I regret trying the food. I'll be back !!! THANKS for an unforgettable experience ❤️ 💕 ✨️

Excellent food, the people are amazing. A great spot to stop at on a bike or car while cruising the Natchez trace! Highly recommend!!

We stopped for a couple lunch sandwiches on a weekday. The food and service was too notch. We would eat there again if we travel back another time.

This place has some of the best sandwiches you'll find literally anywhere. Everything is made on a big griddle right in front of you. The staff are so friendly. Lots of good candy and soda choices that you can't find pretty much anywhere around. Highly recommend the bacon egg and cheese toaster.

Spontaneously stopped for lunch and was so pleasantly surprised. The sandwiches we got were a great value. Loaded with great ingredients and great flavor. Service was not only very kind but also genuine. It seems everywhere you go now, customer service is centered around earning (or expecting) a tip, but the girls working were so sweet and helpful, and when the time came to tip, she swiped the option away without hesitation. It made me feel like the kindness we experienced here was just the genuine standard of how they treat customers, not seeking something more. I gladly asked her to go back so I could tip her as I was so impressed by the service we received. The atmosphere was quaint and comfortable. Kitschy enough to feel more like a date than a quick lunch stop but casual enough to not feel put on! Very happy we gave this place a try. Hope we’re in the area again soon to patron again.

It was recommended at the Leipers Fork Distillery. Rib-sticking sandwiches. We were very happy.

Nice country store with all the charm. The food and the people were great. I had a turkey melt on sourdough called the Taylor that was huge and tasted great. I topped it off with a fresh cinnamon roll that was awesome. Thanks for the great lunch I will be back!

Stopped in the other day had some sandwiches made for my guys. They were fantastic and my guys love the sandwiches

The Reuben is the bomb! Best gosh darn sandwich I’ve had in a long long time. So good. It’s so worth the drive wherever you’re driving from. I also recommend picking up an RC in a glass bottle. It’s like time stood still for a moment. You really don’t want to leave. It’s like being a kid again. Oh my gosh, could it get any better than this? Nope. I could sit here for hours. It’s such a beautiful, quiet, peaceful area. They have plenty of outdoor seating in the front or back. Parking is on both sides of the building. It’s a bit like stepping in the past where food was simple and absolutely delicious. Big time welcoming hometown atmosphere. Definitely go. Now!

I agree with another review I saw on here. I didn't see a price list anywhere, I ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich. I had no complaints with taste or quality but the price for sandwich, chips, and a Pepsi was a staggering $21.05. too rich for my blood.

Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. I got a chicken salad sandwich on white with a cherry coke and it came out to be $18 and change.... Over $20 with tip. The place is very cute and very busy so I had high hopes for a great sandwich. When it came out after a 25 minute wait, I thought it was a joke. It was regular sized sliced bread with a thin layer of chicken salad. The sandwich was 4.5"x4. 5" - what I'll make for my kids with store bought bread. Not at all what I was expecting. The guy who ordered after me got a sandwich practically the size of his plate, so I'm thinking I just ordered the wrong thing. I don't understand how my little sandwich and coke came out to ocer$18 though. There are no prices displayed anywhere. Clearly they are used to a clientele who's a few tax brackets above me and don't care about price. I'm a normal person who does however care, and would like to know what things cost. I'm a foodie, so I'll gladly pay for good food.. but this sandwich, for the price was just sad. I packed up half my sandwich - just disappointed and ate it on my way home where I got more to eat feeling regret for having stopped. I've been to very expensive sandwhoch shops, all over the country, and was never so let down. The pickles were really good.

Hands down one of the best places in the Williamson county area for a sandwich and cinnamon roll! Everyone in there is so kind and welcoming. Idk what they do… but the sure do something special because the food is off the charts!

We drove from Nashville, we were not disappointed at all. We had the two egg breakfast, delicious. You must get a cinnamon roll, fabulous.

The sandwiches especially on the sourdough are so addicting! I love the breakfast sandwich with eggs & bacon, the turkey melt, the killer pig & chicken salad sandwiches are all delicious.

Hidden Gem! Passing through and decided to stop here and did not regret it! Food was delicious and the staff were very courteous.

A unique and interesting place... with really good food. Sat under the front awning - what used to be the drive thru for the gas pumps (which are still there). The food was excellent (coffee was average). And I would have given five stars, except that my meal and my wife's meal were brought out about 10 minutes apart. Other than that... we enjoyed it. I will go back.

I was prepared one of the best Chicken Salad sandwiches I've ever had. Pleasant folks too.

I grew up and spent most of my first 50 years in NY and NJ and I grew up eating famous NY pizza, bagels, and deli sandwiches... but I have to say, I have never had a better sandwich anywhere than at the Davis General... the Boston Roast Beef is my favorite for lunch... for breakfast, I go for a simple egg and cheese on a biscuit... simple right? But somehow it's amazing!! The Davis General sits all by itself in "Boston" which is a rural crossroads in Franklin, Tennessee and about a half hour drive from my house, but a well worth it... be advised that it is pricey, sandwiches generally in the $10 - $15 range

Put this on your places to eat. Nothing bad about this place. An old country store with great sandwiches. The food was very fresh and the bread was toasted just right. "IF" I had to complain about something it would be that the sandwiches don't come with any sides. I just bought a bag of chips and the problem was solved.

Awesome general store away from the craziness of downtown Lieper's Fork. Plenty of parking and a great assortment of goods, from household item to beer to snacks. Nice breakfast sandwiches...we had the egg and cheese biscuit which was made with a local egg! Enjoyed our meal at the picnic table out front. Great character and location!

This place is a throw back. My dad owned a similar places years ago. Just a few days after his cancer diagnosis. We road tripped through the Leipers Fork area. He was the Chairman of a museum and loved to preserve history. We stopped at Davis General for what turned out to be one of our final family meals. This establishment will always have a special place in my memory.

Delicious! Highly recommend the Reuben, Italian Hillbilly and Chili Dog. The owner and staff were charming and attentive. Do yourself a favor and stop here when you’re in Leiper’s Fork/Franklin.
