This place has lost its roots!! Got a chicken salad croissant w diet coke 20.00$$ no chips no extras. Soggy and basically unedible. No way a high school kid could afford this place which is how they got started!!

I am NEVER disappointed when I visit the French Pantry. The bruschettas are my favorite.

This place is easily missable without signage but should NOT be missed! I have been eating here for several years whenever I pass through the area on business. I always tell people that this place has completely ruined me on food. Everything else is terrible in comparison and for months afterwards, all other food just isn't as tasty. 😅 The bruschetta is fantastic.. I always get the goat cheese, artichoke, & shrimp. Follow up with a farmers cheese tarte and you can't go wrong. I loooovee this restaurant. Even the communal seating is fun since I'm always here solo. It's like *the* place where the 'real housewives of Ponte Vedra' go with their girlfriends to spill all the tea. Hysterical, I love it!

Enjoy large portions here!! Came here for lunch on Labor Day. Was so happy that they were open. Ordered the brushetta with fontana cheese and portobello mushrooms and cesear salad. My SO ordered the bang, bang, and shrimp salad. We both enjoyed our food. Service was excellent. Friendly staff.

This is such a cool restaurant! Located in an industrial area, it's a Parisian oasis in Jacksonville. They make and sell their breads, and their sandwiches are insanely good. I got the muffeletta, it was bursting with meat that was tender, fatty and crispy all at the same time. I was full for the entire day. The atmosphere is old school French, you order at the counter and by the time you're finished ordering, they have your table set with drinks. You might have to share a table with others, just part of the charm. We got here for lunch before 11 am and the place was already half full. The staff are really nice, and it's very unpretentious. And so good!

Everyone knows that when you go to French Pantry you will not be disappointed. I have been here few times and I just wish that I can go here more often. Recently me and my friends went here to have early lunch. went here on a Saturday, they open at 10:30am we were there at 10:45am and they already have a line, thankfully it wasn't long yet and we maybe just waited for 10 minutes. the location of french pantry is very interesting there is no sign or anything it just looks like a big office space, parking is you make your own but there's plenty lol. just make sure you are here early or else you will be waiting for the line and a table. There's a lot of selection here from seafood to beef to sweets to burgers. I ordered the French dip and it was freaking amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also ordered the yum yum cake and it was good but my friend had the farmers cake and it was soooo good! This place is a staple in Jacksonville and we are so lucky to have this kind of place here. if you haven't been you are definitely missing out!

I’ve been purchasing Wedding cakes from this business for many years and Monday I changed it up and bought a Carrot cake for $97.00. The price isn’t the issue but the fact that everyone that ate it got sick and suffered diarrhea for two days after. This was the only thing that everyone ate that was similar. Just to be sure before making this post I ate a small piece of the cake again today and within 20 minutes I’m going through the same discomfort I experienced on Monday.

I was recently in town for a family gathering and I had ordered one of your “wedding cakes”. In the process of picking it up I noticed and removed the 18percent gratuity that was automatically added. To it. I was in your restaurant all of five minutes. We do enjoy your cakes but I have to say I think that is stretching it. I have spent many years in the restaurant business myself and never have I seen where a tip of this amount was automatically added to a order being picked up. I sincerely think that the tipping culture has went absolutely bat crazy. I tip and tip well when dining in and I’ll leave it there

We stopped by here headed from Jacksonville back to Georgia. Their food was soooo good. I see why it was so busy. My husband and one of my sons had the shrimp poboy. I had a Kobe burger, and my other son had a cheeseburger. One of the other customers kept telling us we needed to order a dessert. I went back to the car because we were getting our food to go. Let's just say he came back with 3, lol. They were all delicious!

Food was so good. I'll return. All the desserts were excellent, I loved the oatmeal cookies and Yum Yum cake.

Don't come if you're not hungry. The Reuben I ordered could have fed 3 people. It was the best Reuben I've had in decades. This is the fifth time I've been here. Never been disappointed. I highly recommend

We've been going here for years, though we mostly do takeout now to avoid the lines. Everything we've had is delicious! I personally recommend the shrimp po boy and the yum yum cake.

I’ve heard about this place for years. I understand the hype now. Great selection of food and adorable atmosphere.

My wife used to love The French Pantry. It was without doubt one of her favorite places. I never really understood as I could take it or leave it, but I was fine with going there when she wanted. Yet ever since it changed owners, it's just not very good. We had only come a few times the past couple of years, and my wife kept hoping it was just 'off that day,' but it's apparently the standard. She ordered a bruschetta dish and said it was very disappointing (the ingredients and preparation is different than with the previous ownership). The French dip was one of the worst I've had. Not much meat, and the cheese was a single thin slice of provolone that basically seeped into the bread. One slice of cheese? On top of that, after spending over $100, they charge for a refill on a Coke? Really? However, the biggest problem I have, and it's pretty typical of places these days, is to request a tip before service. If I had known they don't actually serve you apart from bringing the food, I wouldn't have done so. Why did I tip $15 for you to come to my table three times? $5 a trip is worth it? Do you genuinely believe that? If so, that's criminal. If not, don't put the tip suggestion *before* you give service. I get that the place seems charming for some, and that's all well and good, but you have to provide good service in addition to that, and don't change the food. It's what people liked in the first place. Food and service are far more important than 'charm.'

I don’t believe this place is worth the hype it gets. It was sooo busy indicating other people will disagree with that. Buuut the menu was actually somewhat limited and over priced for the quality of the food. The restaurant is cute with its factory vibe but there’s not nearly enough seating. We had to sit at a table with people we didn’t know. It felt like the air conditioning barely worked and the parking lot will absolutely swallow your car. I’ve never seen pot holes of the like 😅 The food wasn’t bad but I wasn’t overly impressed especially considering the price. I paid $20 for a sandwich on WHITE bread! (Yuck!)

It's tiny but the food is delicious. The hot italian and the german chocolate cake are fantastic. Ha ha, it's The "French" Pantry, but I had Italian and German.

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time in Jacksonville but today I was so unimpressed and felt disregarded as I ate alone. I ordered my usual which is the rare roast beef sandwich and I asked for it hot. The associate At the counter put that on my order. As I'm waiting by myself for over 20 minutes for my sandwich and french fries, no one has came over to the table to make sure everything is going well etc. Then my sandwich comes out and it's not hot at all. I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for someone to come over, not even to check on me, but to give the other people at my table, their food. I mentioned to the waitress that was serving table 42 around 12:00 p.m. that my sandwich was supposed to be hot. She asked for the receipt which I didn't have because I use the tap pay option and she seemed to have an attitude. And went about her way. I wait another 10 or 15 minutes and the other waitress comes over and places the plate of food on the table nobody apologizes or anything. At this point. I had to leave because I had other engagements and it was past my time to even enjoy my meal inside the restaurant and I requested a to-go box. The second waitress just placed it on the table and went about her way but was not friendly. This is going to discourage me from coming back based upon my experience of the wait time to get a sandwich that was done incorrectly resolved in a timely manner and no accountability from the restaurant. I've recently praised this restaurant about almost a month ago on my content creator page on Instagram under journeys_withari So this experience alone will stop me from coming for a little while. I would love for the manager to reach out to me regarding the experience with the waitresses that handled my table today on May 29th. I wouldn't want to stop coming to this restaurant based upon the fact of how I was treated with the waitresses and also taking accountability for the incorrect mistake of my food.

Love! Love! Love! You can’t have anything bad. The bread- amazing! The entrees- simple yet sophisticated! Desserts- you will be too full to eat it there, just get it to go and NO SHARING- you need your own. You will be thinking about and have to go back.

Can't go wrong with any of the bruschettas, but my fave still after all these years is the rare roast beef with boursin.

Wow, this place looks like a factory, but it’s a HIDDEN GEM. So glad my friend showed me this place. When you enter someone takes your order. It’s a bit overwhelming because you see all of this delicious desserts, and breads that you want to eat! So check out the menu before you go. I highly recommend their specialty which is the wedding cake. It’s nine dollars but it’s a huge dessert that is definitely the size of two desserts if you like cake and fresh strawberries. The sandwiches are huge so they can easily be split or have leftovers for later. Sandwiches are pricey, but definitely worth it. I think most of them were approximately $17, this place is not the cheapest place but I think it’s worth value? Absolutely! After taking your order, if you are dining in, they will seat you at communal tables, so be prepared that you may sit with other people. If you have a problem with that, then you may want to get your food to go. The inside is nice and updated. If you’re sitting down, you will get some warm bread and oil to eat prior to getting your food. If you are wanting to get food to go, there is a separate line. Sometimes the business can be very busy and full so if you’re wanting to go on the weekend, you may want to go early when they open or be prepared to wait.

Food is very tasty and good quality. One of my favorite food spots in Jax! Pastries and coffee are delicious. Only negative is getting seating. It can get crowded and hard to seat if you have a large group. Daniel was very helpful and a great cashier!

Amazing food but if you don't get there early, the wait can kill you

A beautiful scam. Overpriced 17 USD for a roast beef sandwich. Better cheap food in other American places. Just the name to attract people. French place with no French type coffees, just overpriced black coffee. Wait to get inside like it is something special. Atmosphere like in chili's or Applebee's. No worth the price or wait. Service was decent. Just get some desserts to go. Food sucks.

The only French is the name of this restaurant. Our order: 1. Chicken panini - what was served was literally gross, I was not ably to eat. Dried toast, "prosciutto fontina and fresh mozzarella" was not found, over dried chicken, tons of mayo with ketchup and tons of salt on the bottom toast. one star minus and only for presentation and not the taste. 2. Spinach Portobello Bruschetta - definitely better in taste than panini, and eatable. 3 stars. Btw, both panini and bruschettas are Italian dishes.

You cannot go wrong with the slice of Yum yum and the wedding cake (both with strawberry sauce). They are the ambrosia, a decadent luxury. Pesto rolls, pasta salads & paninis are the shining crown jewels. Highly recommend the portobello, spinach and goat’s cheese bruschetta along with portobello, mozzarella and fontina bruschetta to those who like vegetarian options. Impeccable service.

Ugh why do you have to be so good?! Lol raspberry salad w/ chicken is always amazing, chicken panini is a fav (can be shared) and my most recent dessert try was the blueberry muffin! (yummmmm) and their take-out is consistent. I order online sometimes and I haven’t had any issues.

The wedding cake here is really good However sometimes when they cook the food the meat isn’t cooked all the way 😕

The wedding cake is their staple dessert, but the tarts and other pastries are just as good or better. Delicious breads, pastries, sandwiches and salads. Today I had the chicken salad on whole grain with a side Caesar salad and it was delicious.

Shrimp po boy, salad, and bruschetta are phenomenal every time! My bf comes almost twice a week. The shrimp are jumbo and so delicious!

The only reason why I did not give a five-star on the food is because I love quiche but I do not want to have to eat meat in my quiche and they did not have a veggie option like spinach or broccoli which was a little disappointing so I had to pick all of the ham out that I did not want to eat. The Caesar salad was great I just had to ask for extra dressing. When I got home I ate the blueberry muffin which was beyond fantastic with the biggest blueberries I've ever seen. I went to eat at 11:00 a.m. and no wait. Other than that this place is above and beyond!!

First time here and did an online order for pick-up. Got chicken Caesar salad and wedding cake slice. Let me tell you… I bake a lot because we use whole grains and unrefined sugars but this cake was SO good, not too sweet! The salad is overpriced for what it is but I will be back for the cake!! Will have to try some of the croissants!

I’ve been going to French Pantry since 2015. My neighbor took me there for my birthday and it was amazing! Ever since, I’ve been ordering the whole wedding cake for many birthday celebrations and chicken panini to go (my favorites) from there. I highly recommend! The food quality is consistent, it gets pretty busy, however, French Pantry never disappoints.

A hidden gem within our city serving some of the best food and pastries the city has to offer it's a must try if you're here visiting or have never been while living here. Pictured below is the Ham and Cheddar quiche as well as the chicken panini

The chicken panini and the eggplant panini were very tasty. That said, the bread used is not the typical panini type of bread pressed. It's more like brioche toasted. They were big and sides were not necessary, but the fries looked good! We opted out of any cold sandwiches. The bread didn't look good at all, it looked soft. We are French, so we hoped that the baguettes were the French way. It's definitely not the case. The location is... unattractive, but once inside it's ok. The place was busy, the person taking the order not super friendly, BTW no prices are on the menus outside! We would recommend checking the menus online so you know before you go. The tables are numbered, so my wife and I ended up at a table for 4 that we had to share. That was not a big deal, though we would have appreciated having been told and have the option to wait for a table for 2, or not. Open from 10:30 to 2 only.

This was the first time I had visited…. having said that… it took me two passes to locate the shop. There is no visible sign ( at least i didn’t see it) except on the entry door. However, once inside, I was glad I hadn’t given up on locating it. I had a Ruben for take out.. spectacular!!! Toasty marbled rye!!!The shop features a decadent display of tempting baked goods making me wish I had more time to browse.Highly suggest taking time to sit and enjoy a meal inside.

I'm not sure that it's necessary to review the French Pantry. It's already busy. It's busy for a good reason, greatness. Best food around, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it, and I just finished eating. I'm so glad that this place is in Jacksonville.

It was a little late outside. But well worth it.

This place is amazing at what they do. The bread alone is worth the visit. Everything I have tried has been well prepared and tasty. The staff tends to be friendly and helpful. The only ding I give is environment. Since the seating is community setup, it can't be quite the challenge getting in and out with crowded tables.

I'm a REUBEN fanatic and this is the BEST one I've ever had - consistently. Better than the delis in New York and everywhere else I've eaten one. It's buttery, flavorful, tender and the PERFECT blend of fresh, high quality ingredients. Pricey but worth it - $16 just for the sandwich, no sides! A friend took me here in 2021 and I don't come often, but there are always positive improvements being made. Their to-go process gets better and better and ordering online is simple. There is ALWAYS a line out the door! I also got a slice of their german chocolate cake. I was satisfied with a dew tiny bites - THIS is how dessert should taste! I'm not even into sweets like that but I can't even describe why this is better. Tastes nothing like the thick artificial stuff at most American restaurants.

Some friends took me here over a decade ago and I wasn't sure if it would live up to memory, but it definitely did! I got the bruschetta (chicken and artichoke) which was amazing. If you get a sandwich, bring your appetite or be prepared to take half home; they are huge! I can't decide if I prefer the Wedding Cake or the Farmer's Cheese tart (blueberry cream cheese).

Bruschetta and Parisienne au just sandwich was amazing. Fresh bread was key. Service was fine but one server seemed rude to my wife. We aren't sure why or if it was intentional but it took her some time to shake it off and enjoy the meal. The cake looked amazing and was really decadent and sweet but the genoise sponge was soooo airy that it really made the cake taste more like a candy bar because it had so little flour. I would recommend the wedding cake because it is the only one where genoise would make sense. The line is long and we showed up at opening time and still waited 40 minutes, and seating is communal. Hard to review this place as it has so much potential to be legendary, ..yet if they dont fix some issues, when would I choose to ever go back?

The French Pantry was incredible. The sandwich (roast beef cheddar, I believe) was mouth watering. Ate it in two sittings. The salad was ok, and so were the cookies I got to go. It's definitely a spot worth trying.

5 🌟 all the way. I took my mom here for her birthday, and it was delicious. I also bought some bread to take home. I have never made a meal with only bread and butter, but I did and loved every bite. DELICIOUS!

This place wants to squeeze entire business in less than 4 hours a day being open and must take pride when people are waiting outside. Food is Americanized and not a typical French menu. If you really want to be popular why not staying open longer, and truly serve food for others who don’t have to wait 30 minutes and leave because you are closing at 2:30 pm.

Came on a weekday for lunch and waited about 5 minutes for our order to be taken. Not bad at all. I’ve heard the line can get quite long. The French dip was good, but for $14 I would expect a side for lunch. The quality did not match the price and for that I give 4 stars. Clean restaurant, friendly staff, great food, but overpriced.

Small place where there's almost always a line, but the food is worth it. Family style seating, so if you are in a small group, you will be seated with strangers. Amazing breads and olive oil. Get the bruschetta and then a dessert to go. They also do online ordering for to go including for full cakes. Parking is a bit of a mess, so park to the left and behind the building.

Raspberry salad without Raspberries. burnt pecan bar, and missing fry. Also weird people sat uncomfortably close to my daughter at a shared open table, and talked to her most of the time. Not the experience I wanted, or would wait in line for 35 minutes again. 1 adult and 1 child for $50 wow!

Service/staff is amazing. I ordered the chicken panini, side cesar salad, and a diet coke. It was over $30... for what it is, it was over priced. Food is good, but at the end of the day it's a sandwich, salad, and canned soda where you have to sit next to strangers bc of their seating (I went on a week day around 1pm). I enjoyed myself, I would only go back for special occasions and would probably sit outside to avoid sitting at community tables. You do get bread while you wait, which was delicious. There desserts looks amazing!!! But I was full after my sandwich. Also when I got back to my vehicle the lot was completely flooded on one side, no lie, it was like walking through a shallow pool. Be mindful of where you park... 😱😱😱

From the short line that moves rapidly, to the yummy Ham and Cheese Quiche, the crazy good Coconut Cream Pie, and the OMG Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie, the fabulous customer service, the sharing a table with strangers. THIS IS THE COMPLETE PACKAGE, of a fine establishment! 10 STARS FOR SURE!

It’s still the best kept secret restaurant in Jacksonville. Amazing breads, pastries, entrees, and desserts. If you are a foodie like me, it’s one of the first restaurants that I would have recommended to you if you haven’t been there. It’s that good.

Here currently and it seems like everything is happening in slow motion. There is one person on the cash register who is taking forever to take orders. I ordered my food and have been sitting at the table for 10 minutes without my bread or anyone coming around. People behind me have already received their bread. The current system of service is awful.

Need to stay open longer, great pantry and desserts 🍨 🥧
