Great quiet place to get lunch. The chicken tenders with fried okra are my favorite. I eat here often.

Friday Night All you can eatFish Fry is awesome. Only $12.99 Best fish in Lakeland. I highly recommend it too. Servers are very pleasant and attentive.

I'm going to start with the look. Now I've been here when it was a Chinese Buffet it was cute. HOWEVER, the inside appears run down. I don't mind eating at a place that looks like this IF, its affordability outweighs the look or even if the food makes up the difference. The Wooden Spoon didn't have either of those. The food, is French Toast, over easy eggs on top of potatoes and two sausage patties the size of Oreo cookies. I ordered home potatoes, not hash browns. (The waitress should have brought out a side of home-fired potatoes after I let her know it wasn't what was ordered) I recommend Joshua's Kitchen by Publix off of Shepherd Rd. It wasn't worth 15.00.

First time dining in for breakfast. We sat at the bar and in no time we were waited on. Staff was attentive and professional. Breakfast was as expected for what was ordered.

The pork tenderloin sandwich was huge and SO good!

Walker in with lots of empty tables!! 2 ladies waiting ahead of us. A young hostess took our name and told us it’s going to be just a minute… TWENTY MINUTES later and more empty tables, I asked her again. She tells me the wait is at least 15 more minutes!!!!! I told her “You should’ve given us a proper wait time estimate when we walked in”. She has the audacity to ask if we’re going to wait or not so she can move the other ppl who’ve come in behind is up in line… disgusted. Customer service is a lost art these days. We left and Will not be returning here.

Smashed finger 10 days ago between seat and metal part of chair. Seat not attached. Finger bruised swollen. Sent picture to on duty mgr. Next day.He replied ouch i can see the swelling. No one has reached out to see how I'm doing. Lousy customer service. Will be contacting OWNERS after Dr. Visit on the. 3rd.

My husband and I went for lunch and waited 10-15 minutes for a waitress to come take our drink order after waiting in the lobby several minutes to be seated while they cleaned tables. Waited another 20+ minutes for a fish sandwich and chicken sandwich. Restaurant wasn't overly busy so I'm not sure what the holdup was. Other diners who arrived at the same time were served and left before we did. We were not offered the complimentary coleslaw and had to ask for it. Had to request a to go beverage as it wasn't offered either. We had a similar experience for breakfast about a month ago. Disappointing that they can't seem to get their act together. Won't be visiting again anytime soon.

The place is a bit run down, but I like the food and prices are decent. Service is okay, but not fantastic. It's a good Mom & Pop type place for a sit down meal.

It's a small town family style restaurant. It's not Michelin rated so don't expect pricy food with small quantities. Reasonably priced food that tastes good and is filling. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. We really enjoy the Friday night fish fry ( ayce ) also.

First time here but won't be our last! Amazing atmosphere and fantastic food. The only thing better was the service. Jes was incredible and friendly!! Highly recommend

My wife and I enjoyed a late breakfast (10:30 a.m.) at the Wooden Spoon Diner located in the Imperial Christina Plaza at 6960 Florida Avenue S, Lakeland, Florida. The restaurant wasn’t very busy at this hour and so we were seated right away. Our server Jeannie was attentive and cheerful. I ordered their three-egg omelet with feta cheese and spinach. (This combination isn’t on the menu, but they are willing to make a special order.) The omelets come with your choice of home fries, hash browns, grits or seasonal fruit cup and toast or a biscuit. I chose hash browns and a biscuit. The omelet was delicious, and the hash browns were crispy, just as I like them. The biscuit was small but very tasty. My wife ordered the garden omelet that’s made with tomatoes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and American cheese. She chose the seasonal fruit cup and wheat toast as her sides. She was also very pleased with her meal. We like supporting local businesses and the Wooden Spoon is one of our favorites! It is definitely worth the trip, and we will be back, soon! The Imperial Christina Plaza is located at the southernmost end of Lakeland at the intersection of South Florida Avenue and Shepard Road. Right before South Florida changes to North Church Avenue in Mulberry. There’s plenty of easy parking, too!

We had great service and for them being understaffed the breakfast came out fast and it was all delicious.

Friendly greeting as soon as you enter the building and the service just got even better from there. Jess was our server and was so sweet and helpful. She consistently checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The portions were very generous for the price and we even took home 3 to-go boxes. My sons are like junior Gordon Ramseys and they couldn't stop raving about the food. We will be back soon to try more yummy items on the menu. We recommend the bacon, cinnamon roll pancakes and the biscuits and gravy!!!

Food was OK. Hubby has ayce fish fries and coleslaw. I had a pork tenderloin sandwich that was gigantic but it just tasted ok. Service was excellent.

My family and I LOVE the wooden spoon! Our go to for breakfast is the omelette! And for lunch the buffalo grilled chicken wrap! And the service is so delightful and honestly makes you feel like home!

Bri was our waitress this morning and was wonderful. I hope she's as appreciated at work as much as we appreciated her waiting on us. The food was tasty & Bri was super efficient and checked in frequently. We'll be back.

Had a party of 11 on a Sunday morning for breakfast, sat us quickly, and took our drink order almost immediately. After receiving the drinks, the waitress took our order and was very accommodating with a few special requests we had. Overall, the food was very good. The only negative we could see was the need for a renovation (paint,etc.) to the restaurant as it is a bit outdated.

Breakfast was wonderful. We had a party of 16 and the server did a fantastic job. The kitchen got all our food out quickly and hot. Very affordable. We will be back.

The Pork tenderloin sandwich is the best

I go there 3 to 4 times a week, good home style cooking. If you haven't had a Pork Tendoloin sandwich try it, it is to die for.

I had the Country Benedict it was sooo good. The guy next to me was having the country fried steak with eggs, which looked scrumptious. He seemed to really enjoy it. My waitress was attentive, but there was clearly tension amongst the other staff. It kind of felt a little weird.

Waitress said we ran out of coffee & we would have to make more - so we never got a refill. She refused to make more.

I really wanted this place to be something I wanted to come back to, but unfortunately, it fell really short. The service was great, but if you're looking for something better than a drive-through, my advice is just to drive through past here.

When I went here it wasn't busy but took a good 10min for someone to come but it wasn't the server of the table if was someone else she started taken out order in the middle of it the server for that table came as iam speaking I get ignore because they started talking. Would not recommend the mozzarella sticks, the omelet was and home fries were greasy the only good dish was Southern chicken wrap.

Breakfast & lunch, fish fry on Fridays for supper. Great little spot w/ good southern food and serves alchohol😁 Always ask for Sandra!!!

The Wooden Spoon is an excellent place for a well-executed American-style breakfast. The crispy home fries were exactly what you hope they would be, unlike some other restaurants that simply overseason the potatoes.

The Pork Tenderloin was great! I recommend getting this.

Husband had the AYCE fish. He enjoyed it.

I ate here today for the first time. Food was good, atmosphere, service and restraint was clean. I give it a 5 star and will return again.

We've eaten at the Seffner location multiple times... We just moved to Lakeland & was Happy to see Wooden Spoon here... Excellent ‼️‼️. The Omelets are Excellent 👍🏾👍🏾2 thumbs up 😊 5 Stars 🤩

Peggy was so sweet and polite and the perfect example of a extraordinary waitress! She was helpful and doted on our baby!! We accidentally spilt a cup of coffee and she and another coworker quickly cleaned up the mess and also ran our baby's toy under hot water! She went the extra mile. Wooden Spoon is lucky to have you Peggy!

Good place for breakfast. Lunch is good. Was better with previous ownership. We still visit here but, not nearly as often as we used to. Too many menu changes with change of ownership even though we were told that would not happen.

Cheap, yes. But you get exactly what you pay for. McDonalds quality food, disgusting floors & poor customer service from obviously low paid, unmotivated employees. We initially thought this place would be an upgrade to Denny’s on Mothers Day. They use American Fake Cheese in their very underwhelming & flavorless omelettes even after specifically asking for regular cheddar cheese. (Denny’s Omelettes are way better) Cheap is the only reason I didn’t give it 1 star. Very disappointing taking my wife here on her special day.

Nice atmosphere I usually meet here for breakfast with friends and sit in a booth or a table I sat up at the bar this time and tried their corn beef hash with eggs toast and the corn beef is homemade in its real corn beef that they chop up with potatoes so I highly recommend you try this I always order sausage gravy on the side so that I make my own concoction with the eggs the corn beef and the sausage gravy super delicious sometimes even it's yummy to add grits as well.

Had the blackened grouper sandwich. It was great, very fresh and moist. Awesome place with great staff!

Potatoes were burnt the sirloin steak was not that good i just felt that the one in plant city is 10 times better and will continue to go to plant city not lakeland.

Went for breakfast at 8 am with 4 others, The restaurant had only a few customers besides us and they were short staffed. Long wait time for food.

First time visitor and I enjoyed it very much. I'm a breakfast nut and I loved everything I ordered specially the biscuits and gravy. Great service too. Thank you very much.
