Being an import to Jacksonville from New Jersey I could NEVER find good pizza Until I found Uncle Charlie's. Pizza was on point! Nice old school pizza parlor!

I appreciate the nostalgic feel, and the food is all cooked to order and fairly priced. I could definitely see myself coming back to grab a bite to eat and a pitcher of beer, which has an old school charm to it that is hard to find in today's day in age.

Oh my ! The lasagna is excellent! Nothing but good good food here ! Don't let the looks of the establishment fool you...the prices are reasonable and you won't be disappointed !

Got a chicken parm sub and fries for my boyfriend and omg how delicious and fresh! My boyfriend couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was after each bite all I hear is “mmm” until he was finally in a food coma lol! I called in to place the order and the girl on the phone was so nice and even nicer in person which is very hard to find good customer service now a days. If I could give 10 stars I would! Definitely will be back!

My entire family has been coming to Uncle Charlie's for over 22 years we have never had a bad meal and the workers here are like family now and they got the only things that taste like they come from up north thank the Lord

Hate to do this after many years of coming here but my Philly is worse each time. And last time they weren't willing to fix it. So I won't even bother asking this time. So disappointed. It really sucks when your favorite place can't get the only thing you eat from them right anymore.

This is the Best pizza and Italian food in Jax, Hands Down.

The food was good and fresh I had take out and it was ready when I arrived since I didn't eat there the atmosphere of the location meant nothing to me

The Service is just awesome, Friendly and down to earth, the restaurant still has a back in the day comfortable look and the prices are still decent and affordable. It's ok voous that they love people.

The food there is very good and the place is very clean

Food was just like it was when it was when I was a kid. Everything was perfect. The lasagna was on point. But, the ham and cheese sub was a little salty for my liking. But, overall, it was just like walking into a time capsule, eas very inviting.

Food was great , until I walked in and noticed the cashier/cook/phone handler didn't use any gloves. The thought of the long nails making my food and not washing her hands just don't sit right with me

Was shock ! The No Gloves took me right out, I mean come on people it’s really not that hard to wash your hands, put gloves on, and then prepare the next order.! I hope that oven killed most of the germs ,, I’m sure came with my order

Uncle Charlie's is a neighborhood pizzeria. That serves sandwiches and some good pizza.

Living and working in different states, haven't been here since mid eighties. Still great sandwiches, excellent pizza and same counter. Didn't realize how much I missed it until my son took me there to reminisce. We'll be back for sure.

I have been coming here since I was 19y, Carmello and his entire family put love and care while preparing your food. The food is homemade and cooked to order, awesome. When I met Carmello and his family in 1996 at Uncle Charlie's sandwiches inc, the food is Similar to my My mom who is from Sicily Italy to. My mom would order food from here, our mom went to be with our lord 12/17/2019. Our mom raised my brother and I, Our father never was around.

Today was our first day here and the food was beyond amazing! OMG the portions were huge and the ladies were so sweet! We’ll be back again

I ordered spaghetti to go and There was a roach in my bag! I saw it crawl out when I was driving and freaked out. Cause once they decide to multiply in your car it's extremely difficult to get them out. Never getting anything from this place again.

It's ok at best. Pizza lacks anything noteworthy. Work crew super nice though. Prices were great.

I ordered a chicken parm sandwich for lunch and it was so good i went back and got a cheese pizza for dinner. Closest thing to NY pizza! The food is great.

Growing up this restaurant has always been apart of the community. I would visit the bread store that’s no longer operating nearby and stop by Charlie’s for a slice of pizza 🍕. Flash forward I’m an adult now and have revisited the area frequently stopping by trying Pizza, Subs, Calzones and Salads. Everything I’ve ordered has been great and fresh. It can be a bit of a wait I have learned to call in my order . Staff is always ready to help and friendly.

A favorite stop for great cheesesteaks & salads when in Jacksonville

Their sub rolls always taste fresh, and their metball and Italian subs are fantastic. This has been my favorite, goto pizza and sub spot for over a decade.

I am a Westside kid I grew up on Lakeshore boulevard not too far from this place. Nothing has changed the pizza is amazing! better than any rennas, Papa John's Pizza Hut you name it. Uncle Charlie's they are second to none. The prices can't be beat the food is always fresh the salads are always cold and crisp pizzas are hot made with great ingredients and not over greasy. If you're looking for great pizza on a night that you do not want to cook dinner this is your stop. I've got two large pepperoni pizzas for under 20 bucks. Let's put that money towards Uncle Charlie's to assure this place continues operating for years to come. Keep up the good work Uncle Charlie I'll see you later on this week.

I moved from Pennsylvania in 1991, and this is the best cheese steak I've had down here. You want anything better, then you'll have to go to Philly.

Placed a take out order the other night. Great hole in the wall restaurant. Nothing fancy, just really good and affordable food. I had the anti-pasta salad. The dressing was to die for. They did not skimp on the portion either. I ordered a small for $5 and it was perfect. My boyfriend ordered the stuffed shells. It was less than $9 and a good sized meal. Didn't skimp on the cheese. We will definitely be back.

I order a pizza. It was supposed to be extra sauce and when I got it home it was bone dry also cold. I called and told them and they were defensive and made excuses. All I wanted them to say was Im sorry I will correct the problem and make you a new pizza.

Ok, I don't give all 5 star because people think you're family or friends. I am neither. But the Food was excellent, the portions are so big they will kill you. Atmosphere is like 40+ year old family restaurant. I personally love the old restaurant atmosphere. So is it 5 star? To me, yes, it is. Good food, good price, good old family restaurant.

Still as great now as when me and husband married 34 years ago timeless family tradition ty Carmello for being a part of our lives.

If you want a retro pizza spot this is not it!. Family owned business with fresh ingredients and you can taste it!

From the phone call to place the to-go order, up to picking up the food and hearing about the restaurant's history, a great dining experience. The pizza and wings were excellent, and I will definitely be back for more of that pizza soon. There aren't but about five or six restaurants in the entire Duval county that I would recommend, this is one of them.

Haven't been here in years. My son used to live close to Charlie's when he was first stationed at NAS Jacksonville.

I have been so so so blessed to have been able to soak up the whole experience dinning in and taking out for 31 years... Always enjoyed the food and wonderful atmosphere and also the same faces of the most amazing team of cook's, waiters and cashiers around so much more than 5 stars 🤩!!! Also one of the only places I know of that has never had to change up the menu... That Says a lot.

I have been eating here for the last 30 years. The food and service are always consistent.

I did not eat here this time but have in the past. I only use this place as a gps reference for the little food place next door. The place next to uncle Charlies usually has really good gizzards. I just can't get behind a pizza place that uses canned mushrooms and has absolutely no bacon as a topping option. The pizza itself was average at best anyway. I will not try uncle Charlies again in the future. The service was fine. I didn't eat in when I did order food from here so I can't say much about the atmosphere. I'm not sure eat in is even an option.

They make good pizzas . Their large pizzas will fill you up and you will have some to take home too.

Real pizzeria with excellent pizza in Jacksonville. They’ve been around for a while. Searching for the best chicken parm sub in Jax? This might be the place. Not much parking, but l luckily not that busy the few times I’ve been there.

Got our food and the meat was cold and the mozzarella sticks weren't hot. Food had good flavor.

My cashier was and is very friendly. I enjoyed talking to her. Unfortunately I did not catch her name. I was there 10-07-2023 between 1230-1330 .

Honest review here - The food, prices, and people are great. However, the building and furnishings are very old and in need of some upgrades. Won't stop me from eating there, though.

Sandwich was ok. Cheese was barely melted and it wasn't very hot.

My food was fresh and hot. I ordered a large pizza with wings and a lasagna. Everything was delicious. I was presently surprised how fresh and tasty each of my dishes was. I can definitely recommend Uncle Charlie as a great place to enjoy a meal.

I love the atmosphere of family at this quaint little pizzeria. Our drive home is approximately 15 minutes, and our food is still so fresh and hot when we get take out. Thank you, Carmine for keeping Uncle Charlie's open and for always being here for our community.

Had manicotti with pepperoni! Was AWESOME!! With get again!

People were super attentive and nice. food came out quick but the meat used or the sauce caused some upset stomach issues after eating the pizza the crust was delicious but the toppings made us a bit uneasy feeling when we got home. Maybe next time I will just try their subs

I love this place! I've o ly been here a handful of times but it's one of those small mom-n-pop joints that wants to do nothing else Tham serve you great food. And boy do they! The puzzas are great, the subs are great and the Italian dishes are great. There's nothing bad on the menu. My wife likes the Uncle Charlie's special (sub) and I'm all about the Philly Cheesesteak. And these days, you'd be hard pressed to find a large steak onion cheese mushroom w double meat for less than $10. But here it is! And it's perfect. The bread is soft and fluffy with a crisp crust. It's delicious. The atmosphere is simple, bordering on rustic but it's a no-frills come for the food and table talk kinda joint anyway. In the end, nothing to complain about. Everything to rave about. 5/5 stars and I HIGHLY recommend! Thank me later 😉

Delux pizza and Greek salad are the best.

The food was GREAT. The atmosphere wasn't very welcoming. This isn't 1940 - I'll leave it at that. Recommendation: Match your good food with culture friendly body language.

The spaghetti and meatballs are awesome and I really enjoyed the fried mushrooms. Friendly service in a quaint diner atmosphere.

I've always loved every dish I've had at Uncle Charlie's. The food is delicious, regardless of its unassuming look. It's one of those hidden gems you've gotta know about! I almost don't want others to know about them because I always wanna get a table! The salads are generous, the sauces are great, the pasta is perfectly cooked, and the baked subs are awesome!

A local mom and pop spot. Wonderful customer service. Everyone that walked in the door was welcomed. Large portions, non greasy food, beef meatballs very tender, ravioli good a little over cooked but still worth it. Great place to sit and socialize while eating.

I called and tried asking a question. The guy that answered sounded annoyed, like I was bothering him. Maybe hire some people that actually want to be helpful with his attitude. I immediately hung up. I have never been there, and I never will from my initial interaction

We just love uncle Charlies ❤️. The people are awesome. The food is good. You see them cook it. They are pretty quick even when swamped. Most days at lunch time and almost every evening. We got dinner for 4.

Super nice staff, they all have a great sense of humor and it's great to get suggestions about what to order. Pretty reasonable prices in comparison to other restaurants I've visited lately. The place could use some updating, but I really don't mind all that cause I am more interested in food when going to a restaurant. I would say visit there if you are looking for great pizza or steak sandwiches, you won't be disappointed.
