I ordered take out. I waited a little bit for the food, (completely expected), the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing. I ordered the burger because I eat fish last night, but since the burger was so good, I imagine the rest of the food is too. I love to find a place that cares about what they are serving the customer. This place clearly does.

We had the grouper cheek sandwich bronzed and it was by far the best grouper sandwich I’ve had. The Royal Reds are a must. Friendly staff and a beautiful view!

My sister and I are staying at the beach, and this place was highly recommended by the locals we ran into. We decided to try a little of everything and share it all. We started with the grouper cheeks, then ordered grilled sea scallops, snow crabs, and fried oysters. Louis was our server, and she was so nice, had great recommendations of things to try. She was excellent!

The food was amazing, our waitress Stephanie was nice and assisted with my gluten allergy when ordering fish bread. They don’t have liquor, only wine/beer available. They had a caned vodka/seltzer drink though, it was okay. Pricing was affordable for a party of 4 it was $127. I’d come back when in the area.

Nice place to get dinner! My wife has dietary restrictions (severe wheat allergy), and Diane answered all my questions the day before we came - it isn’t easy, and she was extremely kind and patient. Even more, I read lips, and the wonderful bartender recognized I was struggling to understand and started signing for me. It was a VERY nice surprise. The music guy was a little too loud for us to carry on a conversation (not an issue for me, but I did bring my family), but his setlist was quality music.

Was the most amazing peel and eat shrimp I had the entire trip there. The waiter was funny and great to chat with . Never had to ask for anything he was on top of the table. I give it 5 stars .

Went here for my Bachelorette dinner, got to sit by the water, ate all my tasty grouper fingers and watch a Black Crown Night Heron bully patrons into feeding him. Overall, great night! The server was kind and nice, but service was a little slow.

We ordered out and the food was delicious! Everyone loved what they ordered. Coconut shrimp, grouper, tuna, and crab cakes were all great and filling!

This was the First visit to Wahoo's. The Royal Red Shrimp was slightly overcooked and you know what that does to Shrimp. The Mahi was tender, it was not dried out and the flavor was good. My only problem was how small the portion was compared to the price. The Tots were on point. The highlights were the Coleslaw and Potato Salad. There was a visitor at the back door 😁. Prices are slightly higher due to being across the street from the Beach, but I will have to go back and try it again.

Let’s start with the positives. The blackened grouper was fresh and had great flavor. The shrimp while salty was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The owner was singing that night, which was a nice touch BUT way too loud for that small of a space. Here is where it all falls apart. It took forever to get appetizers and our meal. They started off a little busy but not packed. Our server was never to be found and was a bit snooty when one of us asked a question on the spice level. We arrived at 7 and didn’t get our checks until 9:25. While we were a bigger party and knew there would be some delay never did we imagine it would be like this, especially when we all got the same grouper and shrimp dishes. The onion rings had no flavor and were overcooked. The tatertots were soggy and bland. The fish was good and fresh though so that is a huge win in my book. Just don’t go there unless you have a lot of time to kill.

Don’t be deceived by the quiet shell in which this pearl of a restaurant sits. Delicious food and exceptional staff. Sophie (spelling?) Was a fabulous table server and Jennifer did a great job with conversation and insider information on the delicious food! Baseball loving Shane clearly rooted for the right team and loved chatting with him. Anyway… Scallops are scrumptious as is the zucchini. Get the wheat beer as it is absolutely fantastic!

I love this place! Every day of the week they have a good size lobster tail for $15! You can’t find that anywhere else in Saint Pete believe me I’ve tried

My best friend and I enjoyed wahoos twice on our girls trip. We loved the waiter Patrick and sitting out by the bay with the view. By far our favorite was the coconut shrimp and a close second was their grilled zucchini. The prices were great as well!

UPDATED - After Owner Responded Great food. But they prioritize take out orders. So it took 1.5 hours to get our food while we say 50 take out orders Should serve in house customers as a priority waitress was great. Not her fault UPDATE Okay, I can take that as part of an proper response. BUT we got there at 5:00, 1 of our guests got his food 45 minutes later and the rest of us another 45 minutes later. We ate, then the poor waitress which just turned 18, been working there 2 days, was struggling with the invoices and NOBODY from your staff or the manager offered her any assistance. By the time we left, it was 8:15. That's a total of 3:15 minutes in your restaurant. As a courtesy, the manager or owner, could have offered us a free drink OR a glass of water while we waited for over 45 minutes for the invoice. I don't think this group will be back. I know that your restaurant serves good food and that this might be an isolated incident, but.....

The food is delicious and Lisa my server at the bar was very nice and professional. I loved the Lobster Tail and Gazpacho!

I've lived in the area for 31 years and truly believe, that this is the Best Grouper sandwich I've ever had.

We always set outside where you have water and wind. Friendly staff and some of the best blackened Mahi Mahi tacos around. Can't get enough.

They knocked it out of the park with their etouffee and grouper, tasted as though I was on Bourbon street in New Orleans!!

Great little gem of an eatery. Awesome fresh seafood from Nachman's next door. Tables on the intercoastal waterway are picturesque and quite a treat. Went there for my birthday and it was wonderful.

One of my favorite "on th Gulf for the best of eats ..no matter whether headin North or South, I've made several U-turns! Best seafood all about fresh! Ahi Tuna to die for! I imagine it's not a bad place to eat if you're starving. There's only one cook, the wait for actual food is long; even after peak hours. The rice is mushy, the zucchini are wet and soggy, and I wouldn't trust the house made sauce or whatever that was for the calamari (or for my choice of the Cajun dish). Tastes like ketchup. If you just want seafood (I ate the fresh catch grouper), eat only that. I don't leave reviews on much of anything but if I'm spending $100+ it should be excellent, or at least enjoyable.

While this seems to be a great local place, and what food we did get was very good, the fact that my meal was brought out almost 30 minutes before my friend's (but not w-o problems...got onion rings when I asked for potato salad). Was told the kitchen was backed up, but how hard is it really to put together a grouper sandwich and fries ?? After several check-ins w- our server Jake, he brought us a plate of scallops that someone else had ordered but didn't want! R U kidding me?? No one asked for scallops, scallops will not help my hungry friend (who could have easily been allergic but no one asked). When her food finally arrived, literally 30 minutes later, WITHOUT FRIES, I was at the end of my rope. I asked another waitress to send out the manager. But only Jake arrived to inform us that his "manager " was working the kitchen and he was Asst Manager tonight. We laughed bcuz, of course he was. Then I firmly but nicely informed Jake he needed to comp my friends meal as that wait along w- our other issues was simply unacceptable. Was told a 30min wait for food at wahoos wasn't unheard of. Well guess what Jake? You did comp her meal and we will tell everyone we see in the area what a fiasco we had at wahoos!!!

6 guests. All served dinner at least 10 minutes apart. Last dinner served when everyone else was done. Food cold. Grouper sandwich was great as was chicken sandwich. Burger over cooked and cold. Fried oysters and tots cold. I typically don't like leaving such a bad review but feel as a guest we were taken advantage of. Owner came over and apologized and said they would take off the burger from the bill. Server asked if we wanted desserts but all said no because we were so over the experience. They did say they would bring hot tots but they never came. $8.00 credit on an $18 burger and $7.Oo credit for my meal being served after everyone else was done eating. Never ever again. Such a disappointment.

My wife and I came to this establishment yesterday at 8:50 pm and were told that the manager had left and the kitchen was already closed, although there was still more than an hour before closing. The next day we decided to try to come early and try their food. We ordered a bowl of soup of the day and a fish fillet with 2 sides, one of which the Caesar salad was never brought to us, but they did not forget to include it in the bill! The soup was poor and the bowl was smaller than the cup in other places; we were never shown what the cup looked like. My friends told me that in some third world countries they cheat tourists like this, I didn’t expect something like that in Florida. The set for this mini horror was under 70 dollars. As a result, the evening was ruined, I do not advise anyone to go to this establishment. In addition, on this street there are really cool restaurants with good portions and fresh food, the cost of which will be the same but for much higher quality and tasty food and professional service.

I was excited to try the beach burger. Best burger in the beach…I saw the chef tediously tending the hot fire. Everything coming out beautiful. Then came time for my burger…and eventual cup of soup….for $8 I expected a cup of soup…they mean an actual cup (8oz) of soup. When soup it thick at the end of the night, that means a shot of soup…I cannot recommend. And the beach burger was beyond small. Not half the bun….the chef was putting out beautiful work…just not with that item. Bartender was friendly. Atmosphere felt local. I wanted to give a better review…but this is pushing it for my meatball and shot of soup…

Went there today, breaking off of a very strict diet because I was wanting to try this place. I was so disappointed. First, the parking cost me $9.00 (not their fault, but just a ding that I didn't appreciate), the fried grouper was just okay, not what I expected, the bun was just okay, the fries were okay. But, the beer was awesome - ice cold - service was okay, the young man that waited on me was a good server (I compensated him with a good tip). Years ago there was a place on St Pete Beach called "Groupers" and their grouper sandwich was absolutely amazing - this grouper sandwich was just mediocre. Made me sad that it was just so-so, I wanted this to be my go-to place. I'll stick to Applebees or Millers Ale house. Food is better and parking is free and was easy to park. The cost of parking alone will keep me away from this place. Very disappointing. 😒

Honestly the best your going to find on the strip out here, atmosphere and price wise - super friendly even if you not a local. Get you some grouper, get you some snow crab and absolutely try the royal red strip 👌👌👌👌

After being led out to a patio area behind the building it was pretty shocking looking at the garbage cans. And a bunch of the employees cars parked. No atmosphere in this place. No lighting it was pretty dark I had to use my phone flashlight to order off the menu. Service was pretty rough with no follow-up from the server if I needed a refill on my drink or a knife to attempt to cut my Chicken. Food came out sporadically from the kitchen. Chicken I had was hard as a rock Served to me 15 minutes after my partner had her Dish. I would stay clear of this place I write a ton of food reviews and this place rates on the bottom of the list.

A bit pricey for the bounty. But overall would go back. The Grouper was perfect cook and so was the peel and eat. The chicken my wife got was ok. Fries were good hamburger was descent too. I drank two beers no one else drank. No happy hour prices:(. 101.00$ and a tip later. Eeek.

Was our first time here and we will be going back before our week is up. The seafood so fresh! Had Scallop appetizer and then fresh grouper dinner. The best I have ever had. My husband had deep fried smoked ribs which he loved. Drinks, service, and outside dining excellent!!! Highly recommend.

Calamari was rubbery. Stopped because the sign said shrimp bisque. The waitress informed us that was not the special even though it was written several signs. Not a bad atmosphere. Beer was cold.

Food and service was awesome!!! Will definitely be back soon!!

Best meal I’ve had in Reddington Shores

The food is amazing, the staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is awesome. Went out of our way to go have dinner there. Arrived at closing time and they offered to go ahead and cook and make it a carry our. Went over and above to make another great impression.

We were lucky to have sweet Casey as our server. She was so sweet and kind and just a lovely human to interact with. We originally sat outside but it was nighttime and the kiddos got chilly so she swiftly moved us indoors. Exceptional service and delicious food prepared fresh every morning!

As always the best of the best for fresh catch, grouper or anything you decide to eat. We always order from the chalk board. Nice outdoor seating and we enjoy watching John cooking at the grill using his cast iron. It doesn't get any better than Wahoo's.

Jumbo shrimp were far from jumbo as advertized. Meals for the four of us were not brought to the table at the same time. Drinks were forgotten and had to be reordered. Bill had overcharges on it. Air conditioning forcefully blew on us throughout the meal to the point of discomfort.

Used to be a great restaurant when Jimmy owned it always been a little slow service but but Jimmy always had fresh local seafood right off the boats and he played the fish himself . Not so anymore!To save a little moneyThey now buy inferior foreign seafood that has to be frozen for the long journey to be served Under the false pretense that it's still fresh and charge the customers as if it is. I work right next door and though it would be very convenient I won't eat there.. but if you enjoy month old foreign fish high prices slow and rude wait staff and think because they overcharge it must be good and don't really care what you eat this is your kind of place!

Waited over an hour and fifteen minutes for a table and then were seated only to sit for another 20 minutes with no one coming to our table. Our group decided to get up and leave after that. Went to another place down the street and had a table and food within 15 minutes.

Get there early because it fills up fast. We waited around 40 min, but it was totally worth it! We had the Shrimp Bisque and the Royal Reds as appetizers. My husband ate the Yellow Edged Grouper, and I had the Mahi Mahi Etouffee. Absolutely fantastic. Service efficient even with as busy as they were. Lots of room for dining with a small kitchen. Will come back!!

Seriously the BEST meal we’ve had in Indian shores and we’ve had lots of good meals. Had the Mahi Mahi Entoffe and it was incredible. Go early and sit outside. Great service too, from the moment we walked in.

Great hole in the wall. We arrived by boat. The dock is very small. The food was really good. Pictures are what was left of peel & Eat shrimp, fried oysters and scallops. We had a problem getting a salad but in the end it all worked out.

I usually visit Wahoos once a month. I missed last month due to hearing the best cook and his staff had been split and Jason was working nights. I hope he and his team are able to hook back up. I enjoy watching the symphony with the kitchen staff as they work their magic. I have had the best tuna steak ever, grilled to perfection by Jason. Now I hear Wahoos has lobster too. My mouth waters as I right this. If you have not been to Wahoos yet and you love seafood. Wahoos is a must visit. I will be checking Jason's status soon. I feel a Wahoos visit coming on, I need to see my Wahoos family. If you go, tell Jason, Pops sent you. One visit and you'll become part of the Wahoos family!

My first experience at Wahoo's couldn't have been better. 👏👏👏 I met some old friends there to try the Royal Red Shrimp and it was perfect. Well prepared and tasted amazing. I also ordered a burger and it was equally fantastic. The wait staff was on top of things and our group was treated like royalty. I'll return to Wahoo's and recommend it to all my family and friends.

Scallops very good, coconut shrimp good but little over cooked. Grouper good but very small portion for price. Didn't get onion rings with grouper dinner. Told waiter Didn't get onion rings but still had to pay for them. Will not be back. Not very clean. Back doors to patio haven't been cleaned for weeks. Disappointed.

Excellent food with the dive bar experience.

So incredibly delicious, we ate here twice in two days!  We have been here several times in the past, so it has been on our "to do" list each time we go to the beach.  However, this time, we went and tried the burger that so many people have told us we should try, and sat at the bar instead of a table or outside. Every other time, we have stuck with seafood dishes.  However, when we sat at the bar and watched the magic of the chefs on the grill, we were amazed and intrigued to try a few of their other mouth watering creations.  While sitting at the bar on Saturday, Sierra (fabulous and personable bartender) made a little extra time to explain some of their other dishes; like deep fried ribs (fresh smoked prior to being deep fried) and different ways to order the burgers.  On Sunday we sat at the bar again (my husband wanted to watch the magic on the grill AGAIN) and met the new owners, Kenny and Jeanette.  Both were super nice and Kenny took the time to discuss other dining choices and the various seasonings.  Since my hubby had been dreaming of the surf & turf since the day before, he ordered that and I ordered the Mahi Etouffee.  Even though we knew we would not be able to eat it all, we added a pound of peel and eat royal red shrimp and even got a few of the Mojo (Mo-Ho) wings.  Needless to say, we had a few to go boxes.... but ZERO regrets. I can not say enough about how fabulous each dish was and the melody of flavors.  We did take pix, since a picture is "worth a thousand words".  To sum it up, we used to consider two of the other restaurants on this stretch of beach to be our favorites and we would go to each of them at least one time each trip.  Not anymore!  Since this trip and tasting the variety of mouth watering delicacies available all in one place..... Wahoo's just knocked the other places off the map as far as we are concerned.

We were here every day of our vacation because the service and atmosphere cannot be beat. The food is amazing and they have the best staff of any other place in the area.

I come once a year to the area. It’s the one place I can’t wait to visit. EVERYTHING is great about Wahoo’s.

Not only was the grouper excellent. The coleslaw was outstanding. Fresh. The fries and tots were cooked perfectly and hot. Waiter was prompt and friendly. Tentative. Visited 1/29/24 for the first time and highly recommend. All around perfect experience.

I live down the street from Wahoo’s Bayside Pub and Grill and have eaten there many times. Their food is always excellent and the staff is great. The deep water royal red shrimp are amazing and are a must have (share as an appetizer or as a meal). I’ll admit the place is not much to look at, but the chef puts together some amazing food. I recently had Mahi Mahi with the house made Cajun seafood etouffee and it was awesome. I highly recommend Wahoo’s and if there’s wait, grab a beer it’ll be worth your time.

I can’t rate the food because I was ignored by two servers and didn’t get to order anything. I was greeted when I arrived, a server took my drink order and brought it. As I waited to place my order, a server walked by, made eye contact with me and took the order at another table. Quite a bit later, the other server came out, filled water and chatted with another table, made eye contact with me and walked on by. At that point, I figured there was no need to stay any longer.

Great local place.. Go here! Excellent food and service.
