Good food , great service, good pricing. A quiet restaurant in the center of wauchula. Great Burgers.

A delightful stop for lunch while traveling from the west coast of Florida to Central Florida. This was our first visit, but will return.

This is absolutely a hidden little gem. We fell upon this little spot tonight and felt like we walked into a family members home. It is a cozy lil spot, unpretentious and homey. My buffalo chicken salad was delicious, fresh and flavorful. We will return without a doubt. We met some lovely locals that engaged us in conversation and we left feeling so happy! The owner is a doll! If you decide to go here, bring her a little birdhouse as she collects them and they are all over the restaurant 🩷 This is our new spot for lunch and dinners!

Hometown is the best word for this place. My husband loves the fried grouper sandwich with cheese. We made a special motorcycle ride out there from Bradenton this evening just to get it. We sprung for the extra $1 to get crinkle cut fries with it. I got a BLT which was good. I tried to get the bread not toasted but I guess the waitress misunderstood me. Prices are what makes it worth a repeat visit. Oh, people are nice too.

Don't let the exterior keep you from trying this little gem of a restaurant! Food was excellent, and it was full of locals which is always a good sign. I had the Athenian grouper, which was lightly breaded and pan fried. Delicious! My SO had a bacon cheeseburger, which was gigantic! A half pound patty, fresh, not frozen. He couldn't finish it! Homemade onion rings were fresh and not greasy. We'll definitely be back!

Really good home cooking. Arrived shortly before they closed and they still were most accommodating and served hot delicious, home-style food. Especially loved the fried okra!

Had a delicious home style meal of chicken and dumplings with green beans. Very good portion at a very reasonable price with good service. Will be back!

If you look at the outside you will be,surprised when you walk in. The food for 11 people was served altogether, it was great tasting and the service was fantastic for a group of that size. Beats out most restaurants in wauchula.

Reminded me of my favorite little cafe back home in Northern Minnesota so I instantly felt comfortable. The place is so cute and the food and service did not disappoint. My husband had the chicken fried steak and I had the liver & onions... everything was delicious!

Please don't judge this book by its cover. This place is quiant and cozy, with 5 star service and an amazing selections on their menu. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the area and offer amazing suggestions on what to try has first time guest. If I'm ever in wauchula again. This is the place I'm going to bring my family too for a good old fashioned home cooked meal. Thank you again 💓

I got the New York strip, and it was so good that I didn't have a chance to take a picture before. I left the plate empty, that's how good it was.

Wachula Family Restaurant, is a fabulous stop for lunch or dinner. I've tried their burgers, which are the best in town. Their Chicken Parm is delicious, their Gyros are great. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed! I wish they were open on the weekend, though.

I’ve eaten-in and ordered out many a time. Haven’t eaten-in much since the pandemic started, but I’ve been able to notice one thing....It’s not as friendly as in the past. Perhaps it’s COVID. Or maybe other things. But it’s lost (to me) that homey feeling. Anyway it’s a nice little place that’s seen better days. Hopefully those days will return soon.

We were traveling thru Wauchula, on our way to Alva, looking for a place to have dinner that was not fast food. We stopped here & we were very pleasantly surprised at our luck. Great food & wonderful service.

I did not love it waitress were great but Philly steak sandwich was bad. Very greasy and steak wasa lot of cartilage. The clam strips were burnt or if you want to say very well done fries were good. Country steak came out with brown gravy instead of the usual white gravy. So I don't know if it is the chef or what is wrong but maybe I will give it one more chance before I cancelled it fr my list of places to go to

He vivido fuera de Wachula alrededor de 8 a 9 años y acabo de encontrar este lugar. Literalmente es una casita sin puerta de entrada. Estacionamiento mínimo y entrar a través de la rampa en la parte posterior que parece entrada de servicio Por dentro es pequeño pero limpio. Tiene una buena camarera, el único problema fue que olvidó el pan y no me importó porque la comida era muy buena y abundante. Definitivamente volveremos. Irónicamente, hemos comido al lado muchas veces y nunca noté este lugar. El puesto de frutas lo recomendó, que también tiene una buena barbacoa y comida para llevar, pero estaban bajos a última hora del día.

Our entire family loves this place. It's where the locals keep going back to...and that's how you know it's good. Great food at very good prices. Small, cozy interior. Lots of variety on the menu. Always a great experience.

Had lunch there.. the sweet tea was perfectly made.. not too sweet. I had a patty melt and fries and he had the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and fries. The house was cute... with several rooms set up with tables and chairs, old memorabilia on the walls to look at. The wait staff were very friendly and prompt. Delicious food!

Its a little place and small parking lot

We have been here a couple times and the food has been really good. My parents live in Zolfo Springs and are regulars at this restaurant so we eat here on our visit with them. It’s nothing fancy but the food is good and fairly priced. The staff is always very friendly and efficient.

Atmosphere: NEEDS a huge update and fresh paint! Very messy, boxed stuff laying around, dusty and dirty. Filthy carpet, tattered and torn table clothes are nasty! The music is so loud, you can hardly hear anyone talking at your table. Food: Everything needs seasoning! The onion rings have so little batter, it all fell off, its laughable!!! Starlight Burger ordered medium rare, ONLY the middle was cooked correctly, because there beef is frozen! NASTY burger!!! Their Soup special.. "Chicken Macaroni"...more like left over tomato soup with macaroni noodle and ONE tiny piece of chicken!!! The Fried Green Tomatoes and Fired Okra... ZERO seasoning in the batter. The tomatoes are so thin, its almost disappearing!!! Their fried chicken, again...tasteless, ZERO seasoning, nasty mash potatoes with watered gravy. The only decent food was their salad... STAY CLEAR AWAY from this hole in the wall, which is exactly what it is...with a back only entrance, shameful in every way!

They lost their sign in a hurricane so I made a trip around the block a couple of times but I found it. It appears to be a house that has has been renovated into a restaurant. Family owned and operated. The owners were lovely hosts. Warm friendly atmosphere and had interesting items on the walls. My favorite were drawings their grandchildren had done. I had a large group of folks with me (20 on one visit and 10 on another). Can you imagine not one person had a complaint about the food or service?

Quirky but pleasant! You would not venture in, if you judged from the outside, which is a disaster! Road has no sign, so you go round and round. Delightful helpful Greek lady gets this 3 stars but food, NY strip and Grouper was just ok. Steak may have been frozen, was fish Grouper? Questions remain. It was warm and inviting, host owner made us a special salad to help my Keto/low carb wife.. It was a welcome stop for hungry folks driving Historic FL17 south from Orlando to Naples.

Being new to the area, and from a much larger community it was a wonderful surprise to find this hidden gem. It's an old bungalow converted into a restaurant so it's quite quaint. They have no sign along the road to advertise so unless your really looking you'll miss it. The food is homemade, good portions, very reasonable,and we enjoyed everything we have had the last couple of times there.

From the outside the restaurant appears to be just an old house in need of some repair. But don't let that fool ya! Once you enter, you're first greeted by a very friendly staff who directs you to find a seat anywhere you'd like. As you look around, you see this is a very clean, quaint family owned restaurant that has a nice southern, country charm to it. There are 3 separate dining areas that are fairly small, but quite comfortable. Antiques and other collectibles fill the walls. The service is prompt and courteous. Servers are attentive to your needs but not bothersome. The menu offers a wide variety of food at very reasonable prices. We opted for one of the daily specials of Steak and Shrimp, served with a garden salad and your choice of 2 sides. We started with an appetizer. A larger than expected serving of fried okra. In fact, some of the best fried okra we've had anywhere else. Our steaks were presented to us exactly as ordered. My husband prefers well-done, while I enjoy my steak medium. The steak was tender and juicy, the shrimp was flavorful and delicious, and our choice of sides were quite pleasing! We'd recommend this restaurant to others, and will be returning ourselves! Just a note, although the website says they are closed Saturday's, they are in fact open only for dinner from 4pm-8pm.
