We stopped at Woods Creek Cafe on our way from SF to Mammoth Lakes and had a great meal. The decor is so fun and whimsical and the staff was incredibly friendly. They filled up our water bottles with ice cold water and gave us coffee to go. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, and the breakfast bread bowl was incredible. We will be stopping here again!

Higly recomend the chile relleno omelet. Mmmmmhmmm

Consistently good food and service

Fantastic place to eat. Staple of Jamestown and for those worried that a new owner took over, they have done so seamlessly. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy as well as the omelets and potatoes, especially the hash browns and country reds. Truly delicious high be recommend.

I stopped here to grab food with a group of 8, and was happy with the service and food. Unfortunately, the AC was not working which made the summer heat worse, but they had fans running and there was ample indoor seating so we were shaded during our meal. I highly recommend the chorizo scrambled eggs and ranch potatoes; both were cooked and seasoned excellently. They also had a wide array of hot sauces to choose from to go with your meal.

My breakfast is always delicious and the service is top notch.

Perfect American diner in Jamestown, California.. there were four of us dining and had a great experience. Staff were great and food was excellent. Will definitely return if we’re ever passing through again!! Thank you!

After 25 years of patronage, I will never return. The food was aweful! They need to hire cooks who know how to cook. The new owners are incompetent! The quality of food has gone way down. Major disappointment! The only redeeming quality is the waitresses.

Can't do better, good food, great service and clean. Nice people here, too. First time here, today. We will be back!!

Let me first get this out of the way.. The location is nice and the service was awesome, no complaints at all in that aspect. However, the food was very unsatisfying. Bread used in the French toast, pancakes and corn bread was so bland. I also had a steak that looked and tasted like it came out of a premium microwave dinner, completely flavorless. In short, the quality of the food itself does not at all justify the price on any of the 3 meals or 3 desserts we ordered. To top it off, the muffins are from Costco. To be fair, I absolutely love Costco muffins, but come on really? Really disappointed in the quality of the food, and surprised people rate this place so high based on that aspect alone.

2 eggs and steak. One egg and steak were cooked as requested. A lot of fat on steak + grissel. Service very friendly. Decor amusing. American Faire. Some Mexican influence. Breakfast and lunch only.

They do not accept credit cards. Cash or check only. Nobody carries their checkbook with them anymore, and very few people carry enough cash on hand for a meal. Head-scratching policy to have in 2023.

Have gone here for years and loved it! Now under new ownership. Food was awful. Omelet was cold. Owner and server got into a shouting match with the server getting fired and left. Place was full of customers. To top it off, got really sick from the food.

This used to be one of my favorite breakfast places. Our waitress and service were good, but the food was awful. Went with a friend, and we both ordered chicken fried steak, both steak and potatoes tasted like they were cooked in old oil. The cook put the gravy on the plate first, then placed the steak on top of it. A big disappointment for the money we spent.

Very fun old fashioned breakfast and lunch diner.

This place has some good things going for it - I love the bovine decor, which is very cute. Some of the menu items are very good and very unique. They have an amazing breakfast bowl which is essentially a heart attack on a plate! LOL They also have a great ham steak which has to be seen to be believed. The rest of the menu items, not so much. The pork chop was tough as leather, the hamburger steak was thin, dry and very over-cooked. The corned beef and hash may have been a can of Alpo dog food - I have never had corned beef with that texture before. Sometimes the service is decent, but today was definitely not one of those days - I'm not sure what we did to offend our waitress, but she did everything she could to ignore us from the moment we were seated. Since she only had one other table, that was quite a feat. The only time she she came to our table without being asked was when she literally snatched my plate from me while I was still eating, and didn't even apologize when I asked for it back. She did the same with the check - she actually she tried to pull it out of my hand. I have never seen anything like it! I understand people have bad days, but this was one time too many from this place. We will not be back any time soon - a very disappointing waste of $50.

Worldclass road trip breakfast stop. Phenomenal regular coffee served with positive energy. Clean facilities. Great tasting food, with attention to order details. All packaged up in a cow-inspired interior theme with a great sense of humor. Worth a visit!

Wow. This place is amazing. Stopped here on our way back from Yosemite to Tahoe with 3 adults and 3 kids. Food was delicious, service was great and ambience moooooved us to tears. Chili was standout awesome.

Great little place, but very small and popular locally, so be prepared to wait upwards of 45 min to an hour during busy times, often a long line out the door! The beef breakfast enchilada special was very good, but upset my family's stomachs a little - probably because it was very rich & we usually don't eat super rich foods like that in the morning very often. My son liked the pancakes; I had French toast. The server was attentive and friendly, and prices are reasonable. Interesting menu, lots of variety.

This is a great place to stop on the way back from the mountains. Good and plentiful food at a reasonable price and the décor is fun!

Does not allow outdoor seating despite having tables outside. Also does not accept cards of any type.

Terrible, waitress was rude, food was spicy, cook an waitress said it wasn't even though I had my friend an daughter try it an they agreed was spicy, told me I had to pay for it even though I can't eat it, an told her no I'm not, apparently was up to the cooks discretion, eventually after all that she came back an said I can get something else but was beyond mad at that point an just wanted to leave but had to wait for my daughter an friend.

The only bright spot in my experience here was the kind and professional service. The staff were patient, friendly and accommodating to individual requests. But, I did not enjoy eating my breakfast here, I found it greasy and very stodgy. I am also convinced that the cup my tea was served in had been dried with a musty dishcloth.

Best French toast I’ve ever had! Home fries and ham were delicious also! Good coffee and cozy place. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful with making sure our toddler was taken care of. Would definitely eat here again!!

Discovered this amazing place on our California road trip. Had a great breakfast with excellent service!

Food was great, served hot! Portions were rather large. Service was fast. Only complaint the fruit cup looks like it was sitting in juice last it’s prime time.

Was hoping the change of ownership would not negatively impact the quality of the food but unfortunately that is not the case. We noticed a slight decline in quality shortly after the change of ownership and gave it some time before trying it again. It has only gotten worse. The food isn't prepared to the same standards as before. We used to eat here almost every week. Hopefully they can get a rhythm going soon!

Ein wunderbarer original amerikanischer Diner: Irgendwie in einer Bretterhütte am Ortsrand von Jamestown gelegen. Aber jeder und jede rennt hin / fährt hin. Denn der Parkplatz davor ist natürlich auch amerikanisch angemessen groß. Das Personal ist mehr als nett, die Portionen reichlich, der Kaffee wird stets nachgeschänkt. Naja, Health Food wird hier nicht gerade gereicht. Aber die Pancakes sind klasse …

Everything is great here...food, service, friendly, quick to get our orders. The only complaint is that they do not take card payments...this is a big negative to me. I'm glad I had some cash on me coming from out of town. Did not know that it was cash or check only until right about the time we were finishing our breakfast. Nowadays that's strange not to say inconvenient. And totally shocked at them accepting a check because that's not as guaranteed of clearing as credit card or debit cards. Anyway, that was surprising and just glad I had cash after eating.

You might have to wait a bit here, but WELL WORTH IT!!! Treated like family here and never been disappointed! Outside seating available depending on the weather and if you sit outside you can bring your "fur family member!" If you come in hungry, you will not leave any less than FULL!

Nothing close to the flavor it used to have. Since they have new owners everything changed. Even the hrs I showed up for lunch around 1 pm and was already closed. I don't get why have a time to open and close if they won't keep it professional.. I believe they have lost costumes and if continues they would have to shutdown for good. They only good about this its their waitress and the lady that works in the back always smiles Since I started going here around 15yrs ago..

First things first, when you go in there’s a white board on the right where you sign in. They’re usually busy so that’s where to start. Anyways this place is SO good. I knew a place like this has to have delicious chicken fried steak and I was right. Expect to have a bit of a wait but it’s good food so I’d say it’s worth it. I’d consider driving an hour from home just to have breakfast here.

This is the best breakfast in the entire area. I make it there about once a week and get the most hugs from the great gals who work there. The treatment is equal with the goooood food. I am the old coot who always gets the reyellno (sp) amalet (sp). They don't give me a menu any more. the best eatin' place around.

Drove in this morning for breakfast: sign on the door said CLOSED INDEFINITELY! Apparently the owners decided to retire; will seriously miss this restaurant. But we wish the good folks who made the place what it was, all the best.

Tasty sandwiches (chicken and reuben) and nice decor inside. Staff is super friendly but I didn't dine in cuz of time constraint. Would go back again if I'm in the area. Feels like home even though it was only my first visit.

We were greeted personally by the owner upon our entrance and treated like family by everybody! This was of the best breakfast that brother from another mother and I have had in a while. My brother had corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, hash browns and sausage gravy on a biscuit. I chose the old school Denver omelette with hash browns and a bagel. It was enough food for two, although back in the day I would’ve eaten it all! Our waitress was delightful and kept the coffee flowing. We took two cranberry scones with lemon curd for the road. On the way out the door, I spoke with a very nice couple who were going to try the raspberry donut cheese cake! We will save that for the next trip!

Food was delicious. Although restaurant is busy in the morning your wait time is minimal. Make sure to write your name on the white board so they know your waiting. Excellent food 😋
