Excellent food , very tasty and generous portions . Very reasonably priced . I got the “Ya man jerk chicken” and the chicken was juicy , tender and delicious . The rice with peas had a nice heat to and flavor . Definitely recommend , good home made food .

Yardie Spice was super friendly, and super delicious. I loved that they have a vegan menu. The lentils and tofu was fantastic. It's really small and was busy, which showed it is loved by people eating there!

The owners obviously care a lot about their food and service, making sure to get everything fresh, and giving great suggestions when you don’t know exactly what to order. The curry goat is excellent, highly recommend. Come for a relaxed experience and expect fun conversations with the owners.

This use too be one of my favorite Caribbean Restaurants but my last few times they have been missing on the flavor and taste. This time we got some old empanadas that was hard and dry. You spend $50 at a restaurant you want your food to be fresh. We going to have to take another time out from them.

This place serves Jamaican and Haitian food. I am Jamaican, and I highly recommended this restaurant to my Haitian fiancé. He finally visited last week Saturday with his sister, brother in law and 5 year old niece. His sister and niece had gotten food from another restaurant and started eating but my fiancée and brother in law wanted Haitian food and tried to order. To my surprise instead of trying the long recommended food, he was embarrassed by the owner who refused to serve him because his sister and 5 year old niece were eating outside food. He didn’t provide any alternatives like having them finish the food outside. Instead he refused service, embarrassed, and invited them to leave the restaurant. This treatment was disappointing and a customer service low point. I won’t bother recommending this place in future if this is how customers are treated.

Yardie Spice has been on my list of places to try for a while, and I'm glad I finally did. l ordered the jerk wings with rice and peas, a beef patty, and the smoked fish dip as an appetizer, and none of them disappointed. The portions were generous, and everything was full of flavor. While waiting, I had the pleasure of chatting with the owners, who were very welcoming to me and everyone who walked in. Yardie Spice is truly a gem in Homestead, and can't wait to go back and try more from the menu.

Great Jamaican food. Small restaurant. I’d return here anytime I’m close by. The hostess/co-owner, Rochelle, provided excellent service and conversation. The food was outstanding. Jerk Chicken, Brown Stew Chicken, and sweet chili salmon were so flavorful. We also had a vegetable empanada, veggies and yucca fries and all were delicious. The food looked beautiful as well. In this age of corporarion dining experiences this is jewel of a restaurant... owners are very personal and helpful, food is freshly cooked and fabulous. Not fast food but not slow.. worth the short wait. Next time we will try the desserts too. Thank you.

Great food . I order jerk chicken with rice and peas , the rice was banging 9.7 out of 10 The chicken 8 out of 10 only because it was a little too spicy but it was so good . I will definitely be back .

A fun place to visit. We sat at the counter and chatted with the owners. Great couple! Oxtail was the perfect blend of spices and the jerk chicken was amazing! Key Lime pie was delicious. Just the right amount of lime and no meringue or whipped cream. Wonderful! We left with a piece of coconut rum cake. Had it with breakfast. So glad we did! Now where am I ever going to find that recipe?!?

My best meal during my trip to South Florida! The jerk salmon was very spicy and very delicious, along with the plantains and rice and beans. The juice was refreshing. What I liked most, though, was the family atmosphere. The owners will sit down with their customers and get to know them. This place is an absolute gem!

I eat Jamaican food at least 2x per week while on the road. I travel for work all over south and west Florida. This place while small and kind of hidden is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Legitimately the best Jamaican food I’ve had even from my guys on Snowhill in Ocho Rios. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Phenomenal Jamaican food with the friendliest owner who took her time to explain all the dishes, her favorites, and made us feel right at home! The space is small with a few tables so most people ordered to go. Each of the entrees comes with rice, beans, a small salad, and plantain. Outside of their jerk meats, the other entrees are relatively mild. I really enjoyed their Curry Goat and my friend the Curry Chicken, where the meat practically fell off the bone. They also have great options for desserts with a house made coconut rum cake and a passion fruit key lime pie. The food arrived rather quickly (within 20 minutes), but the restaurant does operate on "Jamaican time" and one should expect to have a dining experience that's a little longer. Note that if one pays with cash, you'll have a discounted price.

We were looking for a good restaurant and we saw this place had a high rating. I think i agree with the positive reviews! Rochelle and the chef (I'm sorry I didn't get your name!) were great! Also, the plantains with spicy slaw was really good - some of the best I've had.

Jerk Tofu was not good at all. Goat curry was okay. Key lime pie was too soft. Overall not great.

I had the most wonderful experience tonight. Not only was the food fantastic but the owner was an absolute pleasure to meet. I came in alone and she insisted I eat with her friends. I now have made 5 new friends and enjoyed my meal even more with the wonderful company. I am vegan and the options were endless. The best vegan food I’ve had in Florida.

Yardie Spice was the best place I ate at in the S. FL area for a 4 day trip. Great vegan options, great service, and the fresh juice is the best I’ve had! Pay cash if you can. :)

Gross food & poor service. The lady server was so rude to me when I went to do Uber eats and pick up my order. Prior to that I ate here the man/owner was nice but the food is awful. You may disagree if you’re not use to great tasting Caribbean foods.

This place delicious and I would highly recommend. It is a real hole in the wall with island vibes, but don’t let looks fool you, the food is over the top. Our waiter was the owner who was so kind and welcoming, he thoroughly explained the whole menu which is clearly posted on the wall. Gave him and his family’s favorite dishes. We loved our meals and they were nicely presented. Definitely a place to return to.

I ordered based off of these reviews but I got the jerk chicken wings with some rice on the side .. 4/10 . The rice was good but that wasn’t jerk chicken wings . There wasn’t really much taste except for on the outside and the taste still wasn’t jerk .

Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Very well spiced & flavorful, home cooked, intimate atmosphere. Went two days in a row and delayed our plans to stay in town to get lunch the next day. Bought a delicious home made hot sauce bottle. We lived in Jamaica and has better food than actual food in Jamaica . Our favorite part other than the food was the one of a kind art collection, masterful and exquisite.

I loved the perfectly flavored, soft, jerk chicken and the friendly staff. We are vacationing for another 4 days and will definitely come back for seconds!

Visited 03/2024: Since my temporary move to South Florida, I've exclusively tried local eateries we don't have in the westcoast. Passing by this spot for the last year and a half, it's honestly easy to overlook, especially during the day. With three weeks left in South Florida, I'll definitely return for a to-go order. I ordered the BROWN STEW CHICKEN with plantain, rice/beans , it’s tasty, fresh, delicious,presentable, with a generous portion—I couldn't finish it in one sitting. Excellent customer service. If I had known about this place earlier, it would have been in my weekly go-to food rotation. Parking is a bit challenging.

The Goat Curry was best food I have had in long time!! Excellent service and great music to listen to while you wait on your food. The vegetable empanada was also amazing.

The food is excellent and the owners are awesome! They both talked to us for quite some time, gave us recommendations on their menu, plus other places to visit in the area.

Rochelle's customer service is TOP TIER! The food is OUTSTANDING!!! The Rastaman soup is one of the BEST soups I have ever tasted. My Snapper escovitch was LITERALLY finger lickn good!!! If U are looking for AUTHENTIC Jamaican food & vibes then Yardi Spice is definitely the place 2 go!

Vegetarian dishes were delicious! Leon’s Legume was my favorite. I would absolutely recommend this place to a friend. Owners were very accommodating and friendly. Definitely planning to eat here again!

This is a hole in the wall place that's been operating for just over 10 years. It's managed by a husband and wife team who serve authentic Jamaican and Haitian flavors. Friends enjoyed the Jerk chicken combo, ya man chicken and I had the grist fried pork with spices salad and plantain. The latter was quite dry and I would not order it again. The appetizers were good; chosing the conch fritters and yuca fries. We were given octopus with sweet Chilli beetroot salsa; that was fantastic, but wouldn't order the yuca fries again.... too much like cardboard. The conch fritters were excellent. Portion sizes very good, prices for these meals more than reasonable. This restaurant is well attended by people from all over the globe and is very popular. Would recommend to anyone looking for real flavours that have a kick

What a gem of a place. I only ordered conch fritters and Jamaican Patty but I know that next time I'll have some of the more traditional dishes because the happy customers around me looked very pleased w/ their orders. OMG I’m in love. This little Jamaican and Haitian spot is definitely a gem. Customers service was above and beyond and the food was fresh and tasty. Conch Fritters for an appetizer and Fried Yellowtail Snapper over creamy grits with tomato relish. The fish was brought into from the Keys this morning.

What an amazing meal! We went there on the recommendation of a local outdoor guide and feel lucky to have found this place. We started with delicious appetizers of conch fritters and jerk chicken wings. They were accompanied by a fresh, homemade juice of turmeric, ginger, and passion fruit. Entrees were an amazing vegan stew for my wife and curried goat for me. Both were very generous portions, served with fried plantain and rice. I'm a big eater but I still had to take half of it home. Prices were very reasonable and service was friendly and efficient. After dinner I thanked the proprietor, Rochelle, and told her that I felt like I'd had dinner in her home. She smiled broadly and replied "that's exactly what I was aiming for".

Great hole in the wall restaurant. The presentation is great as well. The conch fritters and the spicy sauce were amazing. Not much seating so may want to get there on the earlier side on the weekend. Thanks to yelp for this recommendation. Would have never gone here otherwise.

The jerk salmon is my top favorite. The griot complete and regular is the best out of all the Caribbean restaurants I’ve been to and tasted. I promise you will not be disappointed

One of the best foods I’ve had. We had the smoked fish dip, curry snapper with vegetables, rastaman soup, Leon’s legume and juice cocktail. Seasonings were excellent and the staffs were super friendly.

All the reviews are accurate! We got an easy parking spot out front and walked in. Immediately greeted, menu was explained and we felt like family. AMAZING food, the jerk chicken and Leon’s legumes were SO delicious and of course the juice!!! We got an order of beignets to go and whoa! Go visit these wonderful people - blessings!

Insanely good. Very small place, but well worth the wait (or get takeout!). Especially loved the smoked fish dip, jerk chicken, sweet chili salmon, goat curry & coconut rum cake. Owners so welcoming. Would go out of our way to return!! Next time I’d bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner.

We had a wonderful lunch at Yardie Spice. Everything on the menu looked so good that it was tough to choose. Our meals were tasty and we particularly loved the conch fritters and spicy slaw. Our very picky 4 year old liked the Johnny Cakes and the rice. The best part of the experience was the owners. They were such friendly, warm people and made us feel right at home. Our daughter was coloring in her notebook at the table and they put one of her drawings up on the wall, which made her feel really special. I definitely recommend making a stop here if you're in Homestead. We wish we were staying longer so we could return for another meal!

The best meal we’ve had in Florida! JP was so helpful guiding us through an unfamiliar menu! My salmon was perfectly prepared over the creamiest polenta!!! My husband’s yellowtail was delicately flaky and paired deliciously with the pumpkin purée! Highly recommend!!!! And do very friendly too!!!!

This restaurant was absolutely worth seeking out. Our group had fried snapper, pork, a veg empanada, and Leon's legumes (vegan). Everything was tender and delicious, with a fabulous mango/guava/ginger/turmeric juice on the side. Lots of Jamaican and Haitian favorites.

What should you expect from a husband and wife restaurant that is a combination of their heritages? The most amazing Haitian Jamaican food you can imagine. The owners treat you like family, the fresh juice is amazing, they own the fish market next door so all fresh are fish but then there are also real vegan options. This is one of the most amazing finds and such amazing food. Don’t worry about the entrance. Just go on in and become family and start talking about your next visit to the area so you can come again and eat the food. Comments from our family “Empanadas! Oooo they are so good like my moms” “That’s the best most flavorful goat I’ve ever had” “Leon’s legumes - wow. Eggplant and all those wonderful vegetables!” “The salmon just fell apart” “That yellowtail! And the pumpkin polenta! The spicy slaw is DELICIOUS. Everything is always very fresh. Also, when I start feeling under the weather I order from here & it feels like the fresh ginger & spices shorten the sick-time in half. Highly recommend!

Excellent Caribbean food served up by the friendliest staff at low prices. I had jerk chicken that was perfectly seasoned and tender. Hubby had fall off the bone oxtails and left nothing behind. The rice and plantain were also awesome. It’s a very small place in a questionable area (for this out-of-towner) but we are so glad we tried it.

Update: My family has been visiting Yardie for over 5 years. We even moved out of state and make it here at least once a year. Please check this place out and support small business. I promise you will not regret it! I loooove this place. The service is phenomenal and the food is delicious. The owner, JP, always has a smile on his face and greets you as you walk in. The food has never disappointed. My husband and I are trying to work through the menu and try something different each time we go.

I am almost upset at how good this place was because it set the bar way to high on the first day of our week long vacation. Now coming back, Yardie Spice was the best thing we ate the whole vacation. My family and I ordered the jerk chicken wings, smoked fish dip, conch fritters, Leon's legume and tofu, curry goat, whole snapper, griot complete, red bean soup, the sweet chili salmon, and the juice of the day. Everything was absolutely delicious with no critique needed. I highly recommend if you are in the area. I would note the restaurant itself is quite small with limited seating ~ 25 seats. We were lucky it wasn't busy for my family of 9 to sit together.

I can't understand how this place have so many 5 star reviews, it's a lie! I'm a jamaican and decided to try out this place and I'm very disappointed. This is Caribbean STYLE food, and even that is a stretch. I ordered jerk pork with rice and peas, I got parboil rice with coloring and no peas, the pork was not jerk and seemed like an attempt to trick me with a stew pork chops with and odd tasting spicy sauce to mask the taste of the mince pork chops they serving as jerk pork 😡 I never expected it to be out of this world, but I expected better. There is nothing "yardie" about my meal, can't eat it.😔

Please if u are in the area of Florida City u must u really must stop and try them out this place is AMAZING.

I felt like I was the honored guest in the private home of a Jamaican chef! The food here is top notch in the intention the detail is bar none. The crispy krust on the conch fritters what's golden brown. Yuka fries for crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside. The jerk seasoning was excellent whether you're a vegan with tofu or beans or go for the pork or goat. Don't forget the fruit juice to wash it all down and calm your mouth. Beware of the coleslaw because it's like eating hot sauce. I promise you once you start you won't stop even after you can't fill your tongue anymore it's worth it! This place is a hole in the wall and doesn't look like much from the street so don't be afraid to park in the alley in the back and transport yourself to a little taste of Jamaica. The fish is also all fresh because the same couple owns the fish doors next door. I can't wait to go back for octopus, ceviche and have more of the pumpkin grouper soup!

Absolutely loved the food and staff! Would come here more often if I lived closer. We ordered the jerk chicken plate, fresh juice of the day and key lime passion fruit pie and all were delicious.

I called here because I was desperate for something to eat, the lady who picked up the phone assured me they make Ital food and have lots of options for vegans. So I gave it a try. I was not disappointed. This meal satisfied me while I was down south. Yardie Spice is a must stop if you ever are in the area and in the mood for Jamaican food.

I don’t know what happened today but these are the worst Jamaican oxtails I’ve ever gotten from them. They’ve been my go to since I moved to homestead but today I probably should’ve made my own. They taste like the restaurant ran out of allspice. No flavor.
