In town for work and glad I chose this place for my only meal in town. Trey and everyone else was so welcoming, friendly, and nice. Food came out super quickly and was delicious. Got the fried oyster taco with a caesar salad for my side. A little too much sauce on the tacos for my taste but still delicious nonetheless. Salad was perfect too- great dressing on it. Star of the show was the brown butter cake with butter pecan ice cream. I was so full for dessert but so glad I got this to go. So so yummy- not too sweet so it was perfect.

Our waiter, Trey, was wonderful! He gave us generous samples to try before ordering. Very popular restaurant with the locals.

Service was excellent, food was incredibly good. Like hands down one of my favorite meals of all time. Me and my husband got the fried flounder with jambalaya, and the salmon with grits. I highly recommend coming here if you’re remotely close. They might have a wait but it is worth waiting for.

Food and drinks were very good. Hubby and I shared the hushpuppies appetizer and loved them! Then we split two entrees - the fish tacos and the chicken tacos. Both were executed to perfection. I also had the black raspberry margarita and it was delicious. The only drawback: the restaurant is very small. Parking is tight, and there is virtually no space to wait. People crowding around the bar make it nearly impossible to even get inside to put your name on the waiting list. They don’t text when your table is ready so you have to stay very close in a very crowded space, which neither of us is a fan of. However, once seated, it was a wonderful experience! Will definitely return!

Roasted Cauliflower was absolutely amazing. This was our first visit here and I can definitely see another trip here in the future.

Recommended: Simple Good Meatloaf, Brown Butter Cake Menu is very unpretentious, but some things, like the dinner salad are too much so. Service was pleasant, but odd, and not especially attentive.

It is indeed a bit quirky! Great service from the friendly greeting at the door to our great server. My husband had a smash burger that was tasty, if a bit messy! I had the quesadias, which were perfectly toasted and so delicious!

This is not a fancy place, but that should not keep you from trying out 128 Pecan. Our group of four has eaten there twice - after matinees at Barter Theater - and all of our dishes have been very delicious! (The chicken dish in the photo is actually more that is shown; I had already taken a couple of bites.). The dinner meals are in the $25-$28 for entrees. You can spend less for an excellent burger or salad. The four of us are making 128 Pecan a regular stop after our Barter Theater matinees.

Creative twists on classic Americana dishes that take you home and beyond with a knowledgeable, friendly staff and fun atmosphere makes this restaurant an Abingdon destination you don't want to miss. Honestly the chili-rubbed salmon is heavenly, and somebody at the table always needs to order the special of the day. Worth the wait if there's a line, don't fret.

Great hang… casual and fun. Had the crispy flounder over jambalaya with a salad on the side. Tasted great, plenty of food. Small menu, full bar, attentive staff. I shall return! 😀

Great food, great service, nice atmosphere. We had the fried calamari as an appetizer, and the chili rubbed salmon and fried oyster tacos as the main dish. Everything was delicious! To top it off, the entire staff were friendly and extremely welcoming. Will definitely be back when visiting this area.

The hubby and I had an early date this week, and Trey , who always takes great care of us, did not disappoint. I had a pimento cheese, fried green tomato sandwich, and John had some fish served over grits. Both were delicious! Trey’s personality simply made very good food even better! We even swapped some recipes ( not the restaurant secret ones lol). It’s one of our regular spots! This is one of our favorite restaurants in Abingdon. It’s unpretentious, with friendly staff, and delicious food. We’ve never had a bad meal, nor regretted our choice in going. The owner, Jack, makes you feel like an old friend when you walk in, even on the 2nd visit. He is very attentive to detail. Once, he noticed that I hadn’t touched my cocktail, and asked me about it. I was honest and told him it was something new I tried, but it wasn’t quite what I thought it was going to be. Without me even asking, he comped the drink and offered another, different one on the house. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food. They don’t take reservations, so you might have to wait a bit, especially on weekend nights. We go there with that knowledge, so it’s never an issue for us.

An unpretentious, friendly, solid food restaurant. Ample variety to satisfy anyone's taste. Good portions. Casual atmosphere. Inside and outside seating.

An employee at our hotel recommended 128 Pecan, and we are so glad that we stopped in. I had the special, gnocchi in a tomato cream sauce, and my mother had a chicken dish. Both were excellent, and our waitress was a joy! Great vibe. Great people. Great food.

Wonderful friendly spot! Thanks Trey! Had an early lunch so it wasn't too crowded. Special was the Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos which tasted great. Perfect fresh salad which I had with both blue cheese and 1000 island dressings. All homemade. Jack Burger was large and filling along with hand cut fries. Will stop by again when in Abingdon VA.

I don't think my wife and I could have been more pleased. Calamari, chili crusted salmon, shrimp pasta, topped off with peach cobbler. Fantastic! Our server, Kitely, was exceptional. So glad we took the local advice.

Super cool eclectic little shop tucked away and unassuming from the outside. Being from a trendy little mountain town (Boone NC) 128 Pecan is a familiar vibe to one used to expensive, perhaps, trying too hard eateries in my home town, but the looks are deceiving. This place has INCREDIBLE FOOD. The staff is kind and engaging, warm and ready to share menu tips or just a kind word, and it became more apparent as I ate that this was less mountain hipster food vibes and far more relaxed beach dive for locals. I dig it. In any case, give this place a go. I'm supremely satisfied and plan to visit again soon. Great job to the staff and kitchen!

Normally love this place but went on Saturday, June 8th and got the Pork belly daily special. Two tiny pieces of meat and a dallop of coleslaw for 20.00. You guys can do better.

All of the food is absolutely AMAZING! It’s a cute spot worth the stop. The food was so delicious we went back again the next day after a day of biking on the trail. The owner Jack is a wonderful down to earth, welcoming host. You’ll feel right at home here.

We picked out four options in Abingdon online, and this fared the best in the drive-by evaluation. Very small bar area and several small dining rooms. Wait staff was attentive and engaging. We chose among several enticing choices on the menu, and quite enjoyed the fried fish sandwich, bean soup, and Caesar salad with grilled chicken.

I have been here many times over the years. I like the way Jack has specials and how he changes up the menu every now and again. The food is always great the service is better than great. You will see the same people working there when you keep going back. This is my overall favorite restaurant in Abingdon and I have several restaurants in Abingdon that I really love to go to.

This is our 2nd time here. Great place to have lunch or dinner. From Roanoke VA area and worth the drive. Good is outstanding!!! The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Had the Parmesan crusted salmon. Wife had fish tacos. Both very good. Both the soups tonight (black bean, tomato bisque) were very good as well. Service staff friendly and attentive. Will come back to try several of the other menu items, especially the sandwiches (they got a Cuban!)

We eat at 128 Pecan every couple of weeks. I just tried the chili rubbed salmon on my last visit and it was amazing. Highly recommend it! Start off with a Ceasar salad and finish off dinner with a crème brûlée. You're definitely going to want to try the Manhattan!👌

First time trying 128 Pecan. Went based on reviews. Well, they weren't lying!! This place is great! If you like a great burger, try the Jack's smash burger and parmesan fries. It will not disappoint. The hamburger is so tender and flavorful. The Parm fries are the best!! We will definitely be back. We usually pass on dessert but we had to try the blueberry cobbler and ice cream. It was not overly sweet which we enjoyed. Perfection!!

This place is our favorite "go to" in Abingdon. the food is really good & the service is excellent. Jack is quite creative and makes this place fun. He greets you with "good morning!". The oyster tacos are the best anywhere I have found them. I too like the salmon and grits. Try the jalapeno hush puppies!!! This place is not fancy. We try to eat there at least once a week.

Me and my friends go here at least once a week and they have always been amazing! The food is always incredible and the service is outstanding! Truly a great experience and an incredible gem in Abingdon! We always ask for Trey, he’s amazing, funny, and always makes sure we have a great time! You can tell all the employees really care about their job and making sure you always feel welcome:) we appreciate you guys so much!!

Never made it to the table. It was my birthday and took me 2 days to decide where to have my birthday dinner. We got there and were told my whole party needed to be there to be seated. Problem, my son may or may not of been able to make it because he works at the prison. Anyway, while they were telling me my whole party needed to be there, a women walks in and says she needed a table of 5, turns out that 2 of her party had been seated prior without the party being there. I was floored. Told the lady how wrong that was to seat that party but not us and then telling her I couldn't reach my son to get his ahead order ( hello, can't make calls to prison to talk and get a food order) so we had to leave. No exceptions not even for First Responders. I am a first responder. Tried to call and talk to manager but he was too busy with dinner. Anyway, Fiddlers was down the street, I recommend the fried chicken. They were very nice, had room and made us feel welcomed. Sorry Jack not impressed. I pray things can improve for you, don't like to see companies fail because policies aren't followed or policies are more important that customers.

Parmesan crusted salmon was spectacular!

The $25 pasta dish comes with Kraft grated parmesean cheese. For a $25 dish, use fresh parmesean cheese. Also, penne was well overcooked. In the contrary, great service!

My sister and I ate here two nights in a row! It felt like eating with family! Trey and Jack were so welcoming and attentive. Both meals were delicious! Fried fish, cheese grits and collards! Oh my!! I wish my town had a Jacks 128 Pecan!

I ordered the Jacks Smashburger but instead got a quarter pounder. Paid $16 for what was supposed to be a fancy delicious Smashburger and fries, but instead came away with what could be undercompared to a quarterpound cheeseburger from McDonalds. This is not a.smashburger. The beef was thick dense and low quality and the cheese looked and tasted like a generic grocery store brand. The fries cold, bland and inedible. The only good thing about my visit was the staff. They were very nice fast and friendly. Unfortunately I was there to eat not make friends.

I have tried 128 Pecan once for takeout and once for dine-in. Both times were delicious. I really enjoyed the roasted cauliflower and jalapeño hush puppies, and my salmon was cooked perfectly. The staff is very kind personable. I will definitely be back!

The food was good. I got the tomato bisque and parmesan chicken over grits. I enjoyed both items. Based on the ratings on the restaurant, I guess I had higher expectations. It didn't have the "wow" factor, but my overall experience was good. The online menu didn't match what was actually offered. Luckily I was able to find a substitute entree.

Excellent lunch at 128 Pecan today. The Pork Chop sandwich was very good and the Ceaser salad was perfect. Great portion sizes and a very inviting atmosphere. Please give me a "like" if my review helped.

Passed through town and decided to try this place based on reviews. It’s a cute, clean and cozy space. Service was excellent. Ordered lasagna and a Cuban sandwich- both were delicious! Save room for the Derby pie!

Food, ambiance and service was spot on. The restaurant is really cute and comfortable. There are so many options ranging from smash burgers, to shrimp tacos to a fried green tomato and pimento grilled cheese sandwich which was superb. The fries were so good, they had a really interesting seasoning on them. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak without peppers and it came with peppers and it would’ve been so much better without but it was still very tasty. I definitely recommend.

We decided to give this place try while we were in town for a play. The atmosphere was a warm and cozy home like feel. Our waiter/server “TREY” was absolutely amazing! He was so helpful with food suggestions and the BEST service we have had in a long time! The food was phenomenal! We were with Santa and Mrs. Claus and they also give it 5 stars!

A southern hipsters paradise the food was great just a bit overpriced

Visited for lunch while we were in town for a play. The atmosphere is so cute and the food was amazing. The salad was very fresh and food was quickly served and hot! The tomato bisque soup was very flavorful. Our server was the only disappointment. She lacked personality and honestly, it seemed as though she didn’t want to be there. It took her several minutes to greet our table, initially. I felt like we really had to engage with her for her to say anything. She never checked on us to see how we liked the food at any point. A kind gentleman asked us how it was on our way out the door and I told him excellent! Hopefully she was a just a dud. I plan on returning in the future!

In the area on business travel and scoping the area for a visit with family later in the fall. 128 Pecan was at the trailhead for the Virginia Creeper trail so stopped in for lunch. There was a crowd there, even though I arrived a bit after the normal lunch hour. Lots of good options to choose from. I had the fish tacos and a side of soup. Tacos were ok, soup was very nice. I will be anxious to come try this place again

I can’t say enough good things about our experience here. From the time we walked in the door until we left we were very impressed. The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food. I will not visit Abingdon again without going here.

Weird and off-putting from beginning to end. To keep it brief the restrooms reeked of urine so bad going near them left me without an appetite. Don't know why you wouldn't do something about the smell. The tables are close, the rooms feel cramped. The iced tea tasted like dishwater when I asked to switch it out I was told everyone had been complaining about it. Well then why did you serve it to me?! Had to flag down the server, despite plenty of employees standing around. Fries weren't cooked fully. We couldn't figure out how this place was so popular. It's a one and done, better food to be had in the area. Edited to add the super professional response from the owner makes me even more confident in my review of this place. This person is juvenile and unprofessional to say the least. Your energy and time would be better spent improving your business. This review isn't about hate, but about informing people before they spend hard earned money for a very subpar experience. And as for informing a manager or you, we were lucky to see our server let alone anyone in management.

I knew I was going to have a good experience as soon as I got out the car. We were given a list of local restaurants from our hotel concierge. I reviewed them all. I am so happy that we choose this “quirky” restaurant. I called before we left to inquire if reservations were necessary. The woman that answered the phone had a tone in her voice that was friendly upbeat and so looking forward to seeing us. The wooden ramp took us into the restaurant. It looked so cool. Cute little bar. We were seated and in moments greeted by our sever Elizabeth. She was awesome in every aspect. Professional, timely, friendly and engaging. My husband had the special which was Chicken Parm over Polenta with a Cesar salad . He loved it. I had a Cesar Salad topped with Chicken. Dressing was tasty and just right. A varied selection of items on the menu all reasonably priced. Our water was served in plastic Pepsi glasses which didn’t seem to fit with our experience and the bar did not carry any Canadian Whiskey. No worries the bar tender made me a Manhattan with Makers Mark. It’s good to step out of the box from time to time! Fabulous Experience. Thank you all

Went to Abingdon for a weekend of hiking and stopped by for dinner at the restaurant. It was a wonderful evening and made special by the dinner and staff of the restaurant. We had some nice mixed drinks; I would recommend the bloody mary. The food was quite good. I had the salmon - a nice mix of spices make it different (in a nice way) from what you might get at other places. We also had a cuban sandwich that was slightly crispy on the outside with nice flavor inside. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive without being obtrusive. Prices were quite reasonable. All in all, made for a wonderful evening, thanks.

Very cute place with excellent food, friendly service and reasonable prices. I had the trout with collard greens and the tomato bisque, all of which I would recommend. The craft beer, Yee-Haw Dunkel, was tasty. The creme brûlée was the perfect ending to the dinner. Thanks for a great dining out experience in Abingdon! If you're in the area, this is definitely one to put on your list.

Our group of 5 had high hopes that we would have an enjoyable meal based on the high ratings other diners have given this establishment. We were very disappointed. The tea had a very “off” taste, the french fries that came with the meals were cold and chewy. For what you pay, the dishes were pretty uninspired and bland (bright spot was the “smashed burger” and turkey sandwich which had plenty of turkey) Apps were good, not sure why there was inconsistency between the apps and the meals (which took 45 minutes to get). I expect more when paying $50 for lunch for 2 (app, 2 teas and entree)

Honestly, a really unique find for this part of the state. We went on a Saturday night, and at 5:30 there was already a 45 minute wait. The service was spotty, but it was really busy so I get it. The food itself was crazy good. Their Caesar salad was really good, as was the pasta. Overall a good find!

We so enjoy the food here, the excellent service and a fun atmosphere as well. So reasonably priced and really great quality food. So wish they had a steak on the menu, but we can easily overlook that as anything else they serve is sublime, full of flavor, and the place is so warm and welcoming with an incredible staff. Highly recommend!

We had lunch there yesterday and it was great. We had the hamburger, cuban, chicken sandwiches and a salad. Everyone loved their food. The server was extremely friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!
