My husband and I were in town visiting this past weekend and we went here for dinner. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was fast! Definitely recommend the Duck soup!

Food was great. Staff friendly and the place was very clean. Went on a Sunday mid afternoon and we were happy to find them open.

Enjoyed a great dinner here after having strolled about the downtown area. Prices were reasonable, place was clean and staff courteous. Parking can be challenging so be patient.

We’re here for two weeks from Florida. The restaurant was well run and very clean. Our meals were terrific! And not over priced….we’d go back!

First off, it was full. First good sign. Fast, efficient, and delicious. The calamari we had was delicious and served with a pineapple dipping sauce. The pad thai I ordered was delicious, I'm slowly warming up to the dish. My wife ordered pineapple fried rice. THE PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE WAS THE BEST PART The rice had a toasted flavor to it, with the pineapple undertones, it reminded me of pancakes. Excellent food

I have been coming to this restaurant for almost 10 years now….no complaints about the food… their food is and has been good…but this time when i went my son who is 2 years old was in a mood as all the toddlers are….he might have been a bit louder than he should have been more than a couple of times…..but still was bearable….as far as i know none of the other guests complained but one of their waitresses comes to us and tells us our son is disturbing our other guests and that we should hurry up… we told her we are doing best to keep him quiet but she dint seem to care about any of what we said to her….as parents with small kids we always try our kids dont bother other people but some days are tough but this kind of behavior is very mean… very disappointed…. Not a kid friendly restaurant…

Very good! I had Chicken Pad Thai and really enjoyed it. Some of the better Pad Thai I have ever eaten.

This place has the BEST crab rangoons my husband and I have ever tasted as well as some fantastic crispy duck and drunken noodle soup. Highly reccomend this place and have brought friends and family here.

This was some of the best Thai food we've had. I had the Curry with chicken and my wife had the Pad Thai. Flavorful and spiced just right, it was delicious. The service was quick and efficient, the ambiance is pleasant, and the location right off Market Street Square was ideal. A real find.

Some of the best Thai Fried Rice I have had! The spicy fried rice wasn’t particularly spicy but it was really delicious. The atmosphere was really nice. Will definitely be coming back!

Excellent food! We had the BBQ ribs and the pad Thai. Both were excellent! Definitely try the Thai coffee and the mango juice, absolutely delicious! We've had a lot of Thai food. This is very good, the pad Thai does not have a spice level option but the base is so good I forgive all! Enjoy eating here!

Ordered take out, and I hate to say this but we were thoroughly disappointed based on the raving reviews we saw. My boyfriend ordered the chicken pineapple dish with a 2/5 for spice level. It was so spicy his mouth was burning and he couldn’t finish it. He had to take a sip of juice in between each bite, so it was definitely too spicy for a rating of 2/5. I ordered the chicken satay skewers, and they were delicious!! The sauce was good and the chicken was tender and flavorful. Where my order went wrong was with the spring rolls. They had way too much mint in them, which through the flavor off. I also ordered sweet and sour sauce for dipping and I have no idea what they gave me, but it certainly was not sweet and sour- it was not good. So that was disappointing. The restaurant itself is nice inside, and the lady at the front was friendly. Maybe dining in is a better option.

The food are great. They also have Gluten free dishes. And very nice people.

NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. We went to have a meal around 4 pm last Saturday with my toddler and husband. First of all, we were given two person seats. We were able to put our travel stroller away. I ordered a mai thai as a drink and it had too much alcohol. No big deal. My husband ordered some sweet pork and it was great. My food was good but i should have ordered something different. The waitress told us that someone gave my daughter a bad look and that we should keep her quiet. I think she caught us off guard and we both told our daughter to be quiet. She is almost two. She turns two tomorrow. She wasn't yelling, she wasn't crying. She was just playing with her lips and making sounds. I gave her, her tablet and that was it. I am writing this review because I regret not having say anything about how wrong that was. I am a mother and I can't let this go. This was very wrong. So, someone looked bad at my daughter and I have to quiet her down eventhough she is not crying or yelling?? It wasn't rush hour either. It was 4 pm. I have apologized to my daughter for not speaking on her behalf. This is unacceptable to me and WE ARE NOT COMING BACK. I DO NOT recommend this place for people with CHILDREN. This place is not cheap either. I also felt very rush and that the attendants were hovering over us to get us out. Today is the Monday after and I am still very upset.

The food was fantastic. We paid and I was finishing up my drink while speaking with my boyfriend. We were interrupted by a waitress and asked to leave because they had a reservation coming in. They had multiple other tables available and we would have left shortly after. I just thought it was very rude. I will not be back and regret leaving the tip I did.

Best Thai food in the region! The food is fresh and beautifully presented. The staff is kind and professional. Lovely interior and right in the heart of Portsmouth. Consistently terrific.

This food was hands down the best Thai food in the Seacoast. The tofu in the pad Thai was so fresh and delicious! Would recommend in a heartbeat

Went out to dinner here on a Friday, and even though it was very busy (because the food is amazing), we got a table quickly and got some apps/meals. The food was incredible, the service was supreme, and it was just an overall great night. Would highly recommend and we will be back!

This dinner was absolutely lovely. Very good fresh Thai good. On an abnormally chilly day the green curry with tofu and brown rice hit the spot. They have a bar with a fun cocktail list and great beer and wine options. The ambiance is cozy with the low lighting and votive candles. I would happily return here. Everyone loved their food and drinks and the staff was friendly!

This is the best Pad Thai in Portsmouth. The service is always excellent and the atmosphere is nice. The Pad Thai deluxe has a slight spice but not too much and the shrimp and chicken in it are perfect. The prices may be a little higher than other places outside of Portsmouth, but overall is around the typical prices you’ll find in Portsmouth. I have been multiple times now and have not had a bad experience and will continue to go!

Since moving out of the area and closer to Portland, I don't get to 5 Thai Bistro as much as I'd like to. I had the duck noodle soup made with five spices broth, and it was delicious. Having been to just about every Thai place in "foodies' heaven Portland" and its environs, 5 Thai Bistro compares very nicely. Great service and atmosphere.

Our dinner was wonderful and the atmosphere was great! Parking is slightly challenging but is to be expected being in downtown Portsmouth. The food was top quality and we would definitely go back next time we're in the area.

They do not have sushi even though it was listed when I did a search for sushi places in Google Maps.

Had quite a few gluten free options, I went with the pad Thai and veggie rolls and both were wonderful! The waitress was knowledgeable and I felt very safe eating there with Celiac.

Get reservations early for high traffic times (eg, weekend dinner)

Pineapple fried rice was good, not great. Added soy sauce and that helped quite a bit.

Crispy Pad Thai with crispy duck, was the best thai or duck I've ever had. Dumplings were just as amazing. My wife got the red curry, also great. Can't wait to go again!

BEST Crab Rangoon EVER!!! Plus excellent fried calamari (truly crispy), chicken satay (tender), scallion pancakes (delicate and flavorful)...We made a meal out of apps plus yummy drinks, sorry I should have photographed sooner...lol! Super nice staff and environs.

Home away from home - I've spent 15 yrs in Thailand additionally my wife is Thai. I can say without a doubt that if you want to experience the true taste of Thai food without 15h flight to Bangkok THEN you just hit the best place in New Hampshire! The food is true to its original version in Thailand, The portions are generous. It is my go to when I miss my home in Thailand! The service is very done with the traditional Thai smile and is fast. The ambiance is casual and will make a perfect place for a dinner for 2 as well as a more relaxed family dinner. Thai food made by Thai with Thai ingredients - What else do we need? Try it and you will keep coming back for more ... How do I know? 'cause I keep going back !!

Heard a lot about how good this place was. Took a large group and had the worst experience I have ever encountered in a restaurant. I professionally tried to raise this with their management and nothing was done. Won't ever be going here again.

Best Thai food we've had so far in the seacoast area. We have tried maybe 3-4 other places between Hampton and Kennebunk and none are as good. The green curry is especially good.

As a younger man I spent a couple years working with the Thai Marines learning their food and culture. The Thai cuisine has such snap with spice like galangal,lemongrass,Thai chilli etc. City of Portsmouth has many good/great places...but this is a perfect 5 out of 5. To make it better...homemade Thai ice cream.

I went with 4 other people. Speaking only for myself, the appetizers were stingy. We had dumplings and calamari. I had green curry and pork. It was edible. Yet the pork was dry and they veggies were scarce. The service was very good and friendly. Given the location, I think that they can get by with mediocre quality. The food was nothing spectacular.

Good place to dine but lesser vegan varieties

Three of us had dinner here last night. Fast and polite service and well-made Thai dishes. Balanced and not over-spiced seasoning (like in many Thai places) and fresh ingredients. I would come here again.

We have been here 3-4 times and it has been incredible every time. Flavors are amazing and presentation is beautiful. From drinks to apps to dinner we were impressed.

The food was incredibly delicious! We enjoyed the specialty appetizer dumplings with pork, chicken, and garlic with a beautiful thick sauce for garnish. I had the red curry, chicken, and shrimp, and it was the perfect level of spice for me. I will probably go a bit spicier next time, but that was my own choice. My friend got drunken noodles and she was very pleased with her meal which was accompanied by a lovely glass of white wine. I started off with one of their specialty martinis, which was just the right level of fruity. It was a wonderful meal all around!!

We had an incredible lunch at 5 Thai Bistro today. The servers were all very friendly and attentive. The spicy crispy duck, the red curry and crispy Pad Thai were all exceptional. Amazing depth of flavor especially with the red curry and duck. The crab rangoon starters were some of the tastiest I can remember. And every dish was beautifully plated. We had to take a picture!

Great to be back in New Hampshire on a rainy night. Everything was excellent.

Driving through the area and this place is a gem. Spicy wings were perfectly crisp and saucy and the duck noodles were cooked just right. This place a lot of Thai restaurants I’ve been to and I would recommend to anyone to give it a shot. Service is quick and friendly

very delicious thai food! ive had a few dishes here, but deluxe pad thai and spicy basil fried rice are my favorite. one of my favorite restaurants around this area.

Cozy atmosphere and kind, attentive staff! We went for dinner and had a lovely time. There is an entire section on the menu called ‘Tofu and Vegetable Lover’ with vegetarian and vegan options. Our waitress double checked with the kitchen that my vegetable stir-fry was not cooked in fish or oyster sauce which I greatly appreciated. Awesome vegan-friendly spot that I will definitely return to!

Yummy place! Loved it! Came here for lunch and really enjoyed it with my group! Quick service, friendly staff and a surprisingly good find in the area. Parking is a bit of trying your luck. There is a parking lot in the back if you can't find street parking. We got chive cakes, pad see ew, deluxe pad thai, crispy duck on the side ($10), gratuity 20% was included in our bill since we had a large group of 9 (including kids). Some other items we tried including pineapple fried rice, drunken noodle, tom yum soup which are decent too. Give it a try if you're looking for a good thai spot!

Great Thai food. If you like it very spicy, you'll need to be very particular -- they cook for New England palletes normally.

Our experience was awful at this restaurant. The waitress was incredibly rude and her attitude was abysmal. We called the restaurant around 115pm to ask if they had a table for 6 available around 145. They said yes, confirmed they had food for kids and that we should arrive prior to 2pm since they closed at 230pm. We arrived around 150, and was told to order right away- which we did. When the food came out around 215, they told us we had five to ten minutes before they closed. We let them know that we called in advance and they should have let us know if they were going to kick us out five minutes after receiving our food. We were a party of 6 w two kids. When I told them I’d leave a review, they backed off a little. I didn’t even eat since we were hurried out. It’s a shame bc the leftovers we took home were good. Will never return.

Went to Portsmouth for quick lunch, came across this place, happy to say Food are tasty and services are wonderful.

Go here. The food was incredible. Simple and elevated. Spice level was perfect. Spicy but not over powering. Also the food came out hot which I always appreciate. This place is spectacular. For reference — we ordered the dumplings, the spring rolls, drunken noodles and the pad Thai delux. Wicked good.

I’m literally sitting at the restaurant as I type this because the food is THAT good, I couldn’t wait. We got the duck noodle soup and the crispy duck curry and were HIGHLY impressed with both dishes. We were seated quickly on a Tuesday and service was great. Highly recommend to anyone traveling through Portsmouth! SO GOOD!

I have been here before, service was mediocre but the food was good. I took my friends today at 9 pm after finding out the restaurant was open till 10 pm. As we walked in the hostess gave us a look as if we were not welcome. The first thing we heard from the lady who was whining and told us that the restaurant closes at 10, making us feel we were trying to stay there beyond closing time. We did not feel that we would be served well. I decided to give them another chance to try the food as we love Thai food. So much for trying to give them another chance. I don't think I will go there anymore.

I love Thai food and have been eating it all around the world. I just didn’t like it. Everything was tasteless except for the crab Rangoon. It was also very pricey.

Ordered takeout from here last night for the first time and it was amazing! So fresh and tasty! We true Green Curry dish and the Drunken Noodles. We will definitely be back.

Loved the environment as soon as we walked in we were greeted by two friendly servers and shown to our seats. The space had a romantic and cozy feel. The drinks and meals were thoughtfully plated. The food was very good and worth every dollar! Definitely worth checking out. Will be back whether it’s to dine in or take out! Yum!

Very good food. I had the pad Thai and Dawn had egg fried rice and the tofu vegetable soup. All of it was outstanding. We especially loved that all the vegetables were fresh and crispy.

Can be pricy (It's Portsmouth after all), but worth every penny. Always delicious!
