Great hole in the wall local place. Owner/cook was very nice and the food was AWESOME. We visited the Salem restaurant a year ago and made sure to visit when we returned. We will be back!

Very kind humble service! Simple menu that delivered exactly what we needed on our road trip from NC to DC! We had lamb gyro ($10) and a chicken gyro rice plate($14), both stuffed to the brim and exquisitely flavored. Highly recommend for your quick stop needs

Baklava is made fresh not frozen, very nice service.

If you love halal food you'll love this place. The Greek salad and the lamb plate are both so delicious. I drive an hour to get there because it's absolutely worth it.

This is a small place with a big punch. Abrakababra offers great mediterranean food for cheap. They also offer a great topping bar for you. The only reason that I gave this a 4 star instead of a 5 was because it was a little cramped plus took like 15 mins to get our food.

First time visiting today simple menu. The little lady was handling her business. She even knew I was new to the establishment and welcomed me. The Gyro special was great. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars I didn't receive a pita. But it still made a good salad.

A nice corner place with pleasant people and good food. However, there is no bathroom.

The chicken gyro from Abrakababra is one of my favorite things to eat of all time. I miss having it multiple times a week when I lived nearby. Everything about it is delicious, from the pita to the freshly prepared and well-seasoned chicken to the delicious sauce with just enough spices to add a wonderful depth of flavor. You can choose your own toppings depending on preference to elevate it even further. The staff is always incredibly kind and orders are always ready quickly. I wish there were Abrakababras in every city!

Abrakababra is a hidden gem. If you love Mediterranean food - especially gyros and Greek salads - as much as I do, this is your kinda place. This small business uses fresh ingredients, friendly service, and good portion sizes. I enjoyed the chicken special, which came with delicious marinated chicken, salad, rice, and the Greek dressing and a very tasty tzaiki sauce. I highly recommend Abrakababra. They accept Visa and Mastercard for my cashless people. Also, how can you not love the name?

This place is exactly what you want from the hole in the wall restaurant. It was a little hard navigating to the place with the one way streets, but it is definitely worth the drive. The gentleman running the store, I presume the owner, was super nice and a Real Madrid fan! The food was awesome! I highly recommend the gyro or the falafel sandwich. The fries and everything were fresh and made when we ordered. The baklava is some of the best I've had in years. Make a point to stop here! You won't be disappointed.

A really really sweet woman served me, the food took a few minutes, and the prices are very reasonable! The gyro is super good and so are the fries! Throughly impressed and will definitely be back when the craving strikes again!

Awesome authentic Greek food… Hot and fresh beef/lamb gyro, got a salad and of course the wonderful homemade baklava that just melts in your mouth… Service was impeccable. I will be coming back to this quaint Greek restaurant for sure!

The falafel sandwich is my favorite, I don’t know what they do to make the flavoring so good, but I always look forward to it. Also check out the layers on this baklava! When I die I hope they serve this food in heaven.

I've been here three times and two of those times, the order was wrong. Since there are only about four things on the menu, this is quite an accomplishment. But the food is really good so I will almost certainly try again.

After many months of driving by this tiny shop I finally decided to stop and try it out. SOOOOO happy that I did! I’ve been back numerous times and everything is so good. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the flavors and seasonings are authentic and delicious. There isn’t really seating inside, there are a few picnic tables outside but I typically just call or stop in and get food to go. The owners/employees are always kind and you can tell they love sharing their recipes and food with their customers. Both the gyro (beef & lamb) and the chicken are excellent. The falafel are a yummy side too. And their dressing for the salad… I wish I could buy bottles of it!

Most gyro sandwiches I’ve had have been wrapped in pita bread, not stuffed inside the pocket. This made the sandwich very unstable. The tzatziki sauce made the bread moist, causing most of the the toppings to fall out. That wouldn’t have been so bad if I’d had a plate or a tray. I received my sandwich in a tiny paper bag. The lady also touched the credit card machine with her gloves on while waiting to complete my order. The machine was visibly dirty and she didn’t change gloves afterward. Not the best experience.

Food was delicious and the service was excellent. The man who served us was very charming.

Our first time here and not disappointed. The menu was small. Only a few things to choose from, but that makes it easier to decide, so I always like small menus. It's really just a "hole in the wall" kinda place, but the man was friendly, the food was good, fresh and filling. There is no seating inside. Outside there are 2 picnic tables and I'm not sure I'd want to sit at either one. But we drove across the street and parked by the river and ate there. This is a great option to fast food! Highly recommend!!

If you like unassuming places with good food, Abracadabra is for you. Take out Greek food. Limited menu. Never had a Falafel pita bread sandwich before, and I will again. It was good! Can't wait to go back and try other selections.

The flavor of the Gyro’s here is inexplicable. Every single time I finish eating one I sit there and wish I had more! This place is a perfect example of a hole in the wall mom and pop place that’s doing it right. Plus the man behind the counter is always in a wonderful and friendly mood, and always seems happy to see you, no matter who you may be.

The unassuming restaurant was a great stop. I was so excited I forgot to get pictures. Today we ordered a gyro and falafel 🥙 sandwich. The owner is a one man band and he great. He was happy and greeted everyone that entered with a smile. The sandwiches were full of flavor. He living layered the ingredients to ensure every bit was rewarding. Excited to go back.

If you could keep the son off his phone it would be fantastic. I only go now when I see the Dad working.

Gentleman was polite and we really enjoyed the food even though the fries were over cooked. Plus they have Fresca! Gyros are great!

I tried to place a pick up order at 4:35pm when they close at 5pm on Sundays. A lady answered the phone and when I asked to place an order, she told me they were closed. I went on to apologize, I thought they closed at 5 and the lady rudely interrupted me and hung up the phone before I could finish my sentence. We will unlikely return for business following this poor customer service experience.

I honestly do not like the taste of their white sauce (tzatziki maybe??) but I've not once had anything from here that wasn't finger licking good. The Gyro meat cooked to perfection and service is always pleasant even though I don't understand alot of what's said behind counter 🤔. But all in all this is one of my go to lunch spots when I'm in area. Five Stars from Me

Best Halal food ever! I'm visiting from Boulder, Colorado and after driving past this place a few times thinking I needed to stop, finally did. So glad I did. Food is outstanding. Had salad with gyro meat twice, and also humus last time. Both are absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious. Also, the owner Ali is fantastic. He's very intentional and present with a beautiful smile that'll warm your heart. You'll be happy you stopped! Keep up the good work, Ali! I'll see you next time I'm in town. Inshallah 🙏

I’ve had many gyros from many places.. These are the best in Roanoke. Hollowed out pita stuffed to make a pouch of goodness with meat sliced from the rotisserie. $7.50 A W E S O M E! The biggest too. Get one (or ten) with everything..

Consistently Great food! Good prices. Usually only the chef is there, but he’s friendly, efficient, and cares about the quality of his product. This place has become a regular takeout lunch spot for us. Abrakababra has some of the very best food in Salem, and the most unassuming shop you’ll find. Try it!! (Gyro with Everything!)

Limited menu but excellent flavor! When a restaurant does something very well they don't need a huge menu.

Ahhh Mexican red rice 4 Mediterranean food??? Gyros hardly anything in them, food was poor quality my whole family needed antacid after eating! No bueno lol

We chose this place for lunch based on the excellent online reviews and its proximity to our hotel. In all honesty, the area (and the restaurant itself) looked a little dodgy from the outside … but the gentleman who greeted us and cooked our food right there in front of us was very friendly and welcoming (despite his limited understanding of English). We each ordered a chicken gyro special and the meals were large and the chicken super fresh!! It was definitely a satisfying lunch. Prices are great too! Note there is nowhere inside to sit and eat, so you’ll either have to eat elsewhere (we got caught in a mid-afternoon thunderstorm so ended up eating in the car) or sit at the single, unappealing and lacking-in-atmosphere picnic bench outside the building.

Food was tasty. Cutting salad on a foam container was not the greatest. I appreciated getting a new container. Please change gloves after handling money/register.

This place is amazing. The food is delicious and the prices are very fair. The portion size is more than generous for the price you pay and you won't need to worry about having enough to eat. The Falafel and Gyro sandwiches are so stuffed with ingredients you could easily divide one in half and share with a friend. The Baklava is special because it's just the right amount of "sweet" whereas most we've ever eaten was way too sweet. Can't recommend this place highly enough. I would give it 10 stars if it was possible.
