Ajishin the real deal. I miss the days when the dining room was open but even take out from here is excellent. This is an authentic Japanese noodle experience period

Been eating here a while and never usually had any issues. Love the udon special that comes with sushi! The place Is small so we usually get takeout but it’s definitely a comfort food place! Salad, curry rice and sushi also all so good! Highly recommend!

Even though I marked a form, part of my order was incorrect. The sushi was good, but I have had better. There were no special roll offers and no dining, carry out only.

Really disappointed to find out Ajishin is still takeout only...used to be a great atmosphere for sushi. Takeout is not the same! Instead headed over to One World Market and enjoyed the sushi there.

The best Udon I've eaten in my life (from Korea, been to Japan 8+ time) It's been here for more than two decades and they haven't changed their flavor not one bit. It's sad that they don't have dine in but I could care less if I can have this udon again. I love this place with all my heart 😍 I live in DC right now but I'm planning to go again soon

Super delicious Udon. We took out curry Udon and half-cooked egg Udon. The noodle was hot and Al dente! 😋😋😋

I wish they bring back dine-in, but they switched completely to take out only. The only draw back is that, you either need to call and order the food or go there, order, wait outside until the food is ready. When you call, you'll have to try multiple times until they pickup. I wish they implement online order. I have few favorites: - Ajishin Udon - Curry and their salad - Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Spicy California Rolls When they had dine in, I used to get 1/2 orders of udon, curry, which came with salad, but that's not the case anymore.

Compared to before, the menu has decreased, and it's disappointing that you can no longer eat freshly made food inside the store. However, I still want to praise the high quality of food and friendliness. The tip selection screen that pops up every time I go to pick up my food, even though there's no option other than carryout, is a bit inconvenient.

The sashimi is fresh and the udon noodles are always delicious! It is a little sad that they only do take out after the Covid… in general, it is a nice Japanese restaurant with awesome food! Love this place and the owner is super friendly too! Love the grilled cod, but it is not on the menu all the time… love love love

The Japanese curry was very fragrant. The portions were huge. The assorted nigiri was fresh too. One or two dine in tables would be nice.

We have been going there for twenty years and the quality never disappoints. Fresh of everything. No fancy Americanized sushi rolls, all authentic. Best noodles. Good quantity and super reasonable price.

My colleague took me here, and I really loved it. This is one of the best authentic Japanese restaurant you can find in the area. Food is so tasty, and prices are really good. It seems that it only provides take-out service at the moment. Almost at each meal time there are a lot of people waiting to order. So I'd recommend calling to order before you head over there. Will definitely come back if there is a chance.

One of the best authentic Japanese food you can get in the area. Miss the time when we could dine in, but I guess going fully take out is a better business model. You can still take out food and eat in the parking lot. Absolutely love this place. Grilled fish combo with upgraded udon (Ajishin) is my favorite!!!

Although this restaurant has become a permanent take-out only venue, the ambience as you walk in to pick up your food is so authentic Japanese that you believe you’re getting the real deal. This is a favored restaurant in our house for the quality of the food, the authentic experience, and the reasonable prices.

Best sushi. Period. If you don’t believe me, go there at 17:00 when they open. There will be at least 30 people queuing. You will be waiting at least one hour. I went once at 20:00, one hour before closing. I had to wait 30 minutes... Words don’t do justice to how good the food is... Unfortunately, only take-out is available, no more dine-in. Quality of food didn't change

based on the reviews I called to order and had them pick out some of their recommendations since I don't know the cuisine to well, the soup was amazing with those unique vegetables, the sushi was delicious, the salmon sashimi was YUMMY... this place is 5 stars all the way!

I agree with all that the food is delicious, and I also wish we could eat inside again. That has kept me away for a while, but the take-out is also good. Does anyone know how to make their salad dressing? I am addicted to the stuff and want to be able to make my own but have not found a recipe like it. Please share if you have figured it out.

We have been going here for a few years. Simple menu but excellent quality. Our new routine is to visit One World Market for Japanese groceries and then Ajishin for lunch to take home once a month. They are very close to each other and about a 40 minute drive from the eastern end of Ann Arbor. Its a pleasant drive if you avoid the freeways and follow the backroads.

I've been going here for nearly 10 years. The food is so delicious. I honestly think this is the best udon I've ever had, including when I lived in Japan. I am sad that we can't dine in anymore because it's relaxing to sit inside and enjoy the delicious food in the wonderful atmosphere. It did used to get crazy crowded though so I understand how take out can be better for them at this point. And even though you have to eat out of the take out boxes, the quality of the food is just as good.

Excellent food. A true hidden gem in Novi. Seems to be busy whenever we went but quality always superb despite the high demand. A must try.

The location has been take out only ever since the COVID Hoping it comes back to dine in but I think it never will. Yet the quality of the food is consistent, the place to go for Udon really. Value for money is quite good. Chirashi bowl is also descent. I'd recommend this Japanese takeout.

House udon was just amazing. Some fish in the sashimi didn't feel very great, but the sushi was great. The service was great and friendly.

udpate: have been coming here for 7 years now. time flies. I'm only worried that the chef would retire soon. this is no question one of my favoriate resturant of all time. I built a home here, and honestly to me this is now part of home food memory. its too bad since the pandemic they don't open for dining anymore, but then again the wait was always very long but taking food out in no way diminished the quality of food at all. Best sushi spot for food price, and taste and quality. I have been to all sushi spots ran by Japanese owners, this has to to the best. Keep it up, I hope the owner never change!!

I’d researched restaurants nearby the Suburban Collection Showplace open on Sunday evenings, and my desire for hot udon on a rainy night led me to Ajishin. Outstanding! I had the half size Ajishin udon and assorted nigiri with California roll. The nigiri were perfectly fresh and beautiful, the roll had a great complex flavor moreso than most Cali rolls, but it was the udon I could eat for days. The broth was delicious, the noodles had a satisfying bite, and the tempura shrimp and onions came bagged separately so they didn’t get soggy. I wish my schedule allowed me to eat there more than once. Highly recommend.

authentic Japanese cuisine , highly recommended if you can wait for the food. They can't comment/honor said pickup time, they will have you wait outside for at least an hour. 4/4 bad pickup experience. they need to improve their wait times and management.

I've been a patron for 20 years and they still serve some delicious foods. Even prices haven't changed at all I think. Great quality Japanese restaurant with dignity and pride. One of the rare 5 stars I have.

Great food and great service! I recommend the combo with udon and grilled fish! Even thought it’s take out only, they package the food meticulously so carry out is easy and your noodles don’t get soggy.

This is salmon+salmon roe chirashi bowl: $13. The salmon pieces are thin and small. The bottom is all just rice.

Plenty of vegetarian options that taste great. I would definitely recommend as this is one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve been to in the Midwest!

Very small place but great service. welcoming and courteous staff. food is scrumptious 😋😋 be prepared to wait in line before your turn. Update: They have closed their dining area since covid and last time I went there, just pre-ordered on the phone and picked up the food from the restaurant. Hands down still the best udon place in town. But I miss the old times, I really enjoyed my time there when I dined in 2020.

I was surprised that the price remained no change, and I could see that Ajishin is trying hard for it. It must not be easy for them to do so. I have to say, for this price, Ajishin still provide the best quality they could. Ajishin is still the Japanese restaurant I prefer the most around.

Tried to have a nice dinner here last night. Apparently it’s still carry out only. As someone that travels 3-4 nights per week for work, I want to sit someplace other than my hotel room, to eat. So disappointing, as I really wanted to try it.

If you’re looking for authentic quality Japanese food at a reasonable price then look no further. The staff prepares orders very fast, and is very kind as well, I’ve tried other sushi/Japanese restaurants in the area and none of them come close to the quality Ajishin brings to the table. I wish I could give them 100 stars!

Best sushi place in Novi PERIOD

I am definitely not an expert here, but the food was very good. Tried it based upon a co-worker's recommendation. Probably the best rolls I have had thus far. Also tried a Chirashi bowl which was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Staff was very pleasant. Have me some tea while I waited. My roll treated great too!

I ordered the Tetsugaku (Pork Curry), and was blown away by the flavor. I am a fan of curry, and had never tasted a Japanese curried dish. The Ohara noodle dish is quite tasty as well. I will definitely very returning soon!

Update: After going to this price for more than a decade, we are very disappointed with the significant drop in food quality even after the price increase. It is the first time I got sushi with long grain rice.

Had to throw my tuna roll, my sashimi away.. tasted old, no tuna in in the Roll.. Was expecting more quality. I’m sorry but that’s what happened today, the soup was good.. but everything else was not there
