Was to expensive should have gone to rays across the street. High prices Soso quality

The service is good and kind, the food was delicious but pricey for the setting. This is an unkempt place with dim lighting in the water fountain space and throughout the eating area. We ordered a seafood chowder which was delicious, the halibut fish and chips which were fresh and not fishy at all with 3 condiments on the side. If you put the food at a proper coastal diner setting, then they’re worth the price.

If you want to eat fast in and out this is the place to go . Seafood chowder was good you could taste peaces of seafood there not potatoes like other restaurants. Halibut was ok , seasoning was overpowering Fish taste. Do not expect any special service. You order at regiser and then they will bring your food. Utensils you have to get it yourself and no toilet paper was in washroom.

Food was solid, great location. Got the seafood chowder and it was phenomenal. I do feel like there is better value for the price and quantity, the bowl is pretty small. But solid nonetheless.

Went in to use the bathroom, but staff was busily helping patrons. Lots of things happening!

Amazing food and a great price!!

The fish & chips and burgers we had were really good, everything was well baked & nice and hot. The view from the terrace is also great for watching the goings-on at the harbor.

Seriously probably the best Fish Chips I have eaten and I have tried lots of places over the years. I got the rockfish 2 piece for 18 which filled me up. If you are on a budget get this one.

This is a casual order-over-the-counter restaurant. Good variety but limited options with selection of fish, shrimp and combination dishes. Quality is decent and generous quantity. They have beer and fountain drinks. There are inside and outside dining areas. Overall if you are looking for a relatively fast good quality with less ambiance, this is a good place.

We had burgers and a chicken sandwich with fries. Service was very friendly, restaurant was clean, and the food was GOOD!!

We had the seafood linguine and pistachio halibut. Both were delicious. The seafood chowder was great too.

Not exactly the best bang for you money restaurant… we found it to be pricey for the quality we received… we ate fried halibut but very greasy… beers expensive for drafts ..I do a lot of traveling and worked in restaurants before…I would choose other

Maybe the cheapest spot to try the halibut fish and chips. But by saying this, is expensive a lot, Jesus!

My parents got the fish and chips it was good. I got the seafood chowder. It’s was very basic and Definitely not worth the 15.00 bucks we were charged. When I think of chowder I think of thick stick to your soul kinda chowder. Thick pieces of crab and maybe lobster.I got a very like I said Basic water down thin barely any meat soup.

Overpriced fastfood. You can get way better fish just cross the road.

Great place for local seafood. We tried salmon chowder, coconut shrimps, and Calamari. All delicious to the point that we had to order more food. Strongly recommended!

My meal was good. I had the 3 piece cod.

Don't waste your money! There are so many better options in town. This place uses filler in their burgers. They were overcooked and the meat is questionable. I paid for halibut and got cod. Everything was almost inedible.

We had their breakfast sandwiches as they were one of the few places open at 6 am. The breakfast sandwiches were good and the service was friendly.

The halibut wasn't halibut. The burgers are hard and nasty tasting meat. Don't waste your time and money.

Had the Halibut with chips and loved it.. The location is amazing the views while you eat are beautiful. The girl at the register was also kind. Definitely recommend.

Casual, counter-service place with a focus on seafood. The fish was fresh, but the preparations were average. We ordered a salmon rice bowl, which came with both soy sauce and Mexican pico de gallo, and the two didn't blend well together. Steamed clams were good fresh, but heavily over salted and too much garlic. My child ordered a crispy chicken sandwich, and it was a frozen patty, not freshly made. Service was friendly and helpful.

Worst fish and chips ever, rock fish with no taste. He told us rock fish is like red snapper, it’s not! Chips had been in the warmer for a long time, fish was watery, crumb fell off. We should have taken it back!

Worst unseasoned fish no salt on anything

I was charged for a plate that was $9 more expensive than what I ordered and after I asked that it be corrected its seems like it was taken out on my portions which ended up a little less than half of what the rest of my group received for about the same cost. As far as the taste goes it was ok I've had a lot better especially with those price tags. I was still hungry after so I just stopped by Safeway and grabbed some sandwiches. Which I shouldn't have had to do after spending $60 for lunch

My favorite place for a good burger. Simple. Fresh ingredients. I don’t typically stray from my normal order at a restaurant and I am always impressed with the consistency of the food I receive here.

Breakfast sandwich was good. Not much else though. The place really needs an update and some attention. Better places in Seward to go to.

Online menu is way off from actual, more expensive menu. Half of the menu was sold out. Nice outdoor seating and friendly staff.

It was busy, but service was quick. Dinners of fish and chips and the rockfish with rice were delicious. I especially loved the pico on the rice. A lovely simple addition which added so much.

The food I personally had was subpar and way overpriced. Not to mention, the water tastes like they got it straight out of the lake next to the place. Even the filtered water that comes out of the soda machine tastes like complete nastiness. I would have given a two for the food but my friends swears by the seafood chowder and she insisted that it was at least three stars she would have said five but I couldn't in good conscience to do that. She agreed with me about the water, though. Drinks overpriced as well. Save your money and get more food in the subway down the corner. Or heck, spend only $10 more and go to Rays across the street. Better food, better water, and much prettier view of the harbor.

Service was a little slow and looked like they got greedy with their food this time. Their menu has changed no more seafood baskets, just fish only. I came back to this place because of the seafood baskets very disappointing.

Delicious rock fish. Not fishy tasting, very light, delicious fish. The green dipping sauce is yummy, too!

I'm going to miss this place. Black & Blue has been my go to. Ask for more blue and enjoy the window view.

We were looking for a quick, fresh lunch before taking our wildlife cruise. This place fit the bill! Fish and chips were great! Nice to have a take-out option so close to the marina!

While staying in Seward for a night in March we chose this place based on the name Alaskan Seafood. Well… they serve burgers and pizza mostly and the seafood consists of a limited selection of fried choices. You can get Dungeness crab legs for 35$ but I saw the portion and declined. With that said the one worker we encountered was friendly and the fish and chips we got was fine but I would try somewhere else if you are looking for seafood.

The place wasn’t beautiful but they serve really fresh and delicious food. We had some fish & chips and it was really tasty.

The place was completely empty of other customers. Food was made fairly fast and it is very good quality. Great seaside view from the dining area. Would recommend the bacon cheeseburger. There are also vegan options.

Excellent food... But can get really busy during peak season. Not enough restaurants in Seward down by the train and boat docks so the ones that are there get overwhelmed. Great food though and they were efficient when we visited despite being busy!

I wanted an ice cream cone on the menu. I asked if and which ice cream was good. He seemed to shrug...just okay. He reached for cup so I reminded I wanted a cone. He seemed irritated and put a tiny chocolate scoop. It tasted okay but not with $8. I got much bigger and much tastier with much more enthusiasm and pleasantries at the Sweet Dreams in town. Maybe the food menu is better than the ice cream.

If this location’s prices were half of what they are, it would be a three- or four-star location. But $57 for three average-sized pieces of fish is pretty egregious - that’s without a drink or anything. I asked how large the pieces of fish were and was curtly told “they’re pieces of fish”. The fish itself was only lightly breaded and the fries were mostly bare with little or no seasoning.

Food was ok, but the service was very good.

We had the fish sandwich, halibut fish and chips, rockfish fish and chips, and the seafood chowder. All of the fish was delicious, nice big pieces perfectly battered/breaded and fried and perfectly seasoned, the fries were perfectly salted (not too salty) but under fried and a little soggy. The green sauce was delicious, but the garlic in it hangs with you quite a while. The seafood chowder did not have a lot of flavor and really needed more seafood for the price, it was NOT worth it. The staff was friendly, and they were out of the salmon so, they asked if we were okay with exchanging it for the halibut for the same price, which we did, we were very impressed with that. We would give 4 stars except that the bathroom had no soap and no way to dry hands, we're hoping the staff members have a separate bathroom with soap. Edit: To be clear, only the seafood chowder was not worth the price, we though the rest of the food we ordered was priced as expected.

Great food, but a long wait time to get it

Saw this restaurant driving into Seward and immediately wanted to try it. Our gut instinct did not disappoint! The food was absolutely fantastic. Generous portions for the price. We ordered the salmon fish and chips and the rockfish fish and chips. The sauces served were absolutely fantastic. We were debating on asking if they could be bottled for us haha! We wish we had more time to go back and try more food. Deserves every bit of 5 stars!

Great salmon and chips. Probably the best salmon I had the entire trip. The sauces were great too! Tried a piece of my dad's halibut and it was also delicious.

The rockfish could have used some seasoning as is was lacking flavor. But the curry chowder was pretty good.

The person taking our order acted like didn’t want us to be there, we weren’t offered drinks, when asked what she had for beer she pointed and said whatever is there, I’m not sure what the burger was made out of. The place was overall dirty. It was a monday noon when we arrrived after our trip from Anchorage and this was the closest option to where we parked.

I often drive 250 mikes roundtrip just to eat rockfish (fish and chips) here. Absolutely fantastic! Large portions, amazing sauces.

My wife has celiac so finding places that are safe for her to eat is always amazing. Antonio was awesome ‼️ He understood the severity of cross contamination. Antonio had the cooks use separate clean pans (not just on the grill) to cook for her. She loved the burger so much we ordered a second to go!!! The grilled LOCAL rock fish was so tender and flaky. Delicious! Shared fryer so she couldn't have French fries. He has local beer on tap! I enjoyed that! All that was needed was some Gluten free soy sauce for the rice. (that I couldn't even get at the chevron next door Sadly. Awesome menu and staff! Thank you so much for taking care of my wife's food allergy needs. Out side available seating with great music playing.

Went 4 times in our 4 day visit to Seward, loved it

Ordered a $15.00 hamburger. Took one bite and I can tell you this was not a hamburger. I told the female mgr. and all she said was it is hamburger. My $15. was put in the trash.

A very basic seafood place that was surprisingly good. The place is austere with a menu board and walk-up counter. We ordered Rockfish &Chips ($16) with fries and the chowder ($15). These are pretty reasonable prices for Seward, AK. Fries were fresh, fish was fresh and crispy. Appears family rule. Overall, it is a good choice if you are on a budget vacation -- note this place is anything but fancy. Can't give it 5 stars, but not right to give only 3 stars either.

Food was bland and straight from Costco, then jazzed up to look like more than it was. This apparently made it much more expensive than it should've been and not worth half the cost. I always understand an upcharge but even the burger was completely bland with zero flavor and straight from the microwave. Service was decent and the atmosphere is what you can expect, nothing fancy and tight tables unless you sit outside.

Food was good atmosphere was nice with outside dining , service was on the slow had to ask for help side. Take that with a grain of salt as it could have been shift change or a meeting happening. All in all would return when I’m back in Alaska.

$54 for one serving of the worst halibut fish and chips I’ve had in Alaska. Oh, and stock photos of completely different food on the windows. Don’t fall for it.

Edited to Update: I went again in the summer of 2023 and was saddened to see they've changed their French fries to something no longer hand cut. The cook on my fish was okay but their recipe was a tad different than past visits (not as much seasoning/flavor, I had to add salt). For $38 I was hoping for higher quality. Amazing! I just found my new go to place in Seward. The halibut was DELICIOUS. This is the best panko halibut I've ever had, and I've been eating halibut in Alaska for 20 years. Herb and Panko breading, with an egg wash. The fresh lemon compliments it perfectly, and the freshly cut home fries were to die for. All for only $19?!? We also had a pizza- 5 toppings for only $9! And it was delicious. Light, crispy yet airy crust, not greasy at all, fresh toppings, and great cheese. We will definitely be eating here again next time we are in Seward!

Ordered 1 plate of fish & chips. Took almost 40 minutes. When questioned, front counter made it up immediately. Very expensive $16 for 1 plate of rock fish. Greasy fish. Would not recommend.

It look simple, but food is great! Breakfast sandwich is sooo delicious!! Recommend on croissants:) as it’s slightly on a side from the water tours it’s comfortable to eat and go and not be far from boarding:)

Rockfish fish and chips waren phantastisch. Lecker saftig, knusprig, wie es sein soll. Etwas seltsam, dass man bei "fish AND Chips" die chips extra bezahlen muss.... aber gut. Für einen Quick bite aber voll okay. Draussen sitzen kann man auch.

I mean, if you want fish and chips, or just something basic you can get it here. It cost my son and I $50 for lunch and we drank water. Services was fantastic. But I'm not sure we will be back. Will definitely check out a few other establishments. The location and service is fantastic!

Obviously the staff doesn’t know everyone would like to eat together. One person in our party had to wait an extra 10 minutes for a compressed cheap chicken sandwich. The food consists of two pieces of rock fish (that had bones) over nasty greasy fries. All for 25$ a person. Do not stop here!!!

You definitely need to update your menu, After a 2 hour drive for our 38th Anniversary I was looking forward to have the fried clams & mushrooms showed on your web page and was disappointed when the lady at the counter said she didn’t know what that was, then preceded to laugh when I told her her website should be updated. Ate there anyway, the food was average and nothing to write home about.

I typically never review - but this place deserves to have considerably above a 4 rating. It is a fish and chips place - so rate it as that. The fish was fresh, the batter was not super thick like the fast food joints, and the texture was perfect. If you want reasonably priced fish and chips in a clean, nice, grill restaurant , then this is the place for you

We grabbed a quick lunch here mostly because it was the only place serving lunch at 11:00. I ordered a burger and fries, and the person taking the order interpreted that as my wanting a side order of fries in addition to the fries that already came with the burger - and charged me for it. My husband had the fish-n-chips. It was all very mediocre. We threw away most of the fries and some of the fish.

Seafood Chowder was very good, Rockfish and Chips also very good. The calamari rings tasted surprisingly good considering they were fake rubber bands and not calamari. The tartar sauce was amazing.

Great place to eat and great friendly staff! Conner was really nice to talk to and gave me a lot of recommendations for things to do which I am thankful for. Highly recommend the Halibut!

The shrimp and halibut combo was enough for 2 people. Shrimp wasn’t anything special, but was good and the halibut was perfectly battered and fried. The chicken burger was ok, typical processed chicken patty deep fried. The coconut shrimp was out favorite. Service was great, and restaurant was clean. I’d come back if I end up back in Seward.

For some reason, there is a little bit of salt in my pancake. It does impact how it tastes in a negative way. Forgot to make my order for my brother and had to tell them to make it after waiting 30 minutes.

Meh at best but wife like the seafood chowder. i had the halibut and shrimp $45 for two fish pieces and some shrimp at fries. my son had the crab cake sandwich it was ok as well. This place looks promising on the outside but i will not be back

I got the rockfish fish and chips which was really delicious. I think the best part of was the tartar sauce that they make in house that has had a banging flavor.

Hate to give low ratings to places, but the food was not that great. At least what we order was terrible. I remember eating there about 7 years ago, when returning from a fishing trip, and the food was a lot better. The service was great, and they were really friendly. Worst thing we had was the seafood gumbo. It was really watery and had more vegetables than seafood. I was hoping for a thick cream soup, but instead got a watery soup lacking much flavor.

Honestly not sure why this place is rated so highly. The food was not good, all flavorless, even the milkshakes were bad (some how had no flavor not even sweet). They asked what flavor we wanted to just tell us they only had vanilla, and were out of many things on the menu.
