Took my girlfriend out for "date night" here last night. My first reaction was that it was going to be a loud experience with a fully seated bar as soon as you entered. While we waited for our reserved table to be set, we noticed there was outdoor seating and jumped at the chance with the night being so clear. We ordered our appetizers (seafood soup and seafood stuffed mushrooms) before placing our entree order (chicken picceta for her and stuffed pork tenderloin). We were pleased and enjoyed our meals with our adult beverages and then ordered the cheesecake for desert. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Came here tonight for date night and it did not disappoint! Our server was named Devyn and she did a phenomenal job. Service, drinks, food were 10/10! Started off with espresso martinis and the seafood stuffed mushrooms for appetizers, then split the almond haddock and the filet mignon and everything was cooked to perfection! Safe to say this is our go-to for date night and we well for sure be back soon!

Excellent food, excellent wait staff, excellent view. Felt like we were in a super high end restaurant in a major city. The best restaurant we've been to in Massachusetts. Will be back.

I truly enjoyed everything except the exceptionally LOUD atmosphere. It could be simply reduced if they would install some sound absorbing materials. After all, it is a restaurant not a performance hall.

I just noticed this restaurant because it's next to the dealership where I'm getting my car serviced. I used to live in Spain so I was curious what Spanish dishes they have on your menu, but was quite surprised to discover that it's entirely Italian food. I understand that it's a Mediterranean restaurant, but Alicante is a city in Spain and there isn't one item (with the exception of a couple snacks that have aioli sauces for dipping). that represents the Spanish cuisine. Then I had the most brilliant idea! You should open a sister restaurant called Amalfi, or Palermo, but only have Spanish tapas.

Great food and attentive service. It’s our go to place for a local outstanding dinner. We’re been there a number of times and have never been disappointed.

The food was very good but the bread was disappointing. The staple of a European meal is the bread. The bread served was basically frozen rolls from Costco and it was a bit stale. For the price you pay, the bread should be better quality, fresh, and align with traditional European countries, (Portuguese rolls, Italian breads, French rolls). This is part of the experience, which is the point of going there in the first place. Mediterranean food with cheap, stale frozen rolls? Come on, do better Alicante!

Extremely loud in dining area due to unfinished renovations. Should not have exposed good paying patrons to such unpleasant atmosphere.

My fiancé and I had an amazing dinner here! We will definitely be back, as the whole experience was great from beginning to end. Our server Leah was absolutely amazing, she was very sweet and attentive. We also noticed she was able to explain the menu so well. We ordered the Korean chicken, and salmon which were absolutely delicious. I got the coconut margarita, it was perfectly made and very flavorful. We also got the crispy shrimp by mistake, and it was our favorite!! We highly recommend them, also don’t forget to ask for Leah if possible she goes above and beyond.

I had come here once about a year ago with my wife and we loved it. The restaurant is very attractive, the lake views are wonderful, and the staff and food are excellent. We arranged for 12 person dinner to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday here and it was fantastic. Everyone loved the restaurant, and the two servers that took care of us. Some of our favorite dishes included: Papardelle Bolognese, Polla Alicante, and Boneless Short Ribs. They also make an excellent Caesar Salad. For this event we brought in a birthday cake, and the staff at Alicante served it for desert. This truly and excellent restaurant for a special event!

Great location. Delicious varied menu. They seem happy to accomidate modifications to.menu items to work with dietary needs. I live it there.

Amazing service and quality food! Daley Valet did a phenomenal job at Alicante when my girlfriend and I arrived for our date night. Very professional and courteous. All around it was a great experience!

We have heard about how great Alicante is for years, and finally went for our anniversary. Everything was exceptional, from our server Caelyn, to the delicious food (korean chicken, short ribs and pollo alicante) to the adorably happy valet Tyler, it was a wonderful evening. Next time we will request to sit on the deck to fully enjoy the view. Fine dining in Mendon...who knew?! 😊

Although we didn’t stop for the food because it was before they opened, we were parked in the lot viewing the beautiful lake. The employee allowed us to stay awhile. Great people there and a wonderful view. Thank you

First time here, food was delicious and our server was a delight

Just had my son’s rehearsal dinner here ( 4/11). It was amazing! They all knew it was an important event and could not have made it more special. The room and view were spectacular. The servers were so attentive bringing us the most delicious food and drinks. The desserts were a work of art. The most important part was the attention they put into working around a severe allergy one of our guests had. I can’t thank them enough for such a wonderful night.

We finally made it to Alicante last night. The service was “A+”, same for the food. The owner is the head chef! The serving size was perfect. And of course the view was very nice. I joked to my waiter on the amount of liquor in my drink, and he took the glass from the table and added more, whoooo boy! And it was my sweethearts’s birthday and they gave her a very nice and delicious desert. It was a great evening, and we will be back many more times *****+

A beautiful facility. Excellent outside seating, excellent bar area, and comfortable restaurant seating. No booths, which I like. The menu includes a variety of Italian and American choices. The appetizer offerings are excellent, as are the salads. I had the beet salad...delicious. It was my first time there and I must go again. Oh yeah, did I mention the view of Lake Nipmuc? The facility is right on the lake shore.

My family had never been there before and we were there for a post college graduation ceremony luncheon. We had three different appetizers consisting of fried calamari, eggplant, and teriyaki chicken. All three were absolutely amazing! For the entree I had the braised short ribs with risotto. The short ribs were so tender they just melted in your mouth. As far as the staff goes, they couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. We had the whole place to ourselves for 3 hours as they normally did not open that early. They opened for regular business at 4:00 and by 4:30 they were absolutely packed! They also have valet parking. This is a restaurant we will definitely be returning to and that I highly recommend.

This is an amazing restaurant for special occasions! The service, food and location are all top notch! I recommend getting a reservation before sunset so you can see the great view of the water before it gets dark.

It's a nice restaurant for a special dinner. This is our third visit for dinner in the past 6 months. The service is always wonderful. The martinis are amazing. The only issue I have experienced is that I feel the dinners and appetizers are a bit skimpy. Recently I ordered the Bourbon Glazed Salmon and while it was delicious, there were just two stalks of asparagus and a less than average size salmon filet. Again, the meals are delicious, but you will rarely take home any leftovers. If they didn't offer valet parking service, I would most likely not visit. Parking is difficult. The valet is necessary.

We have been a few times in the last year and unfortunately the food has been consistently worse , this past weekend my dish was very over done and tasteless, the waiter apparently could not be bothered and simply said I can clear away. We will not be back

Haddock with shrimp and linguini was excellent!! Our server was wonderful and went into detail on the specials for the evening. The view from the lake was outstanding from just about any seat in the restaurant. I would highly recommend!!

Sitting at the bar, with a nice lake view, wine and some great food, makes for a wonderful evening, every time for me and my girlfriend. We always try something new, and we simply enjoy our time there, the atmosphere, etc

This is one of the finest dining establishments in the town of Mendon. A majority of the tables have a beautiful lake side view, and the rest of the tables are entirely three dimensional. The service is the best I have experienced in Massachusetts, and the seltzer with lime was pure and bubbly. I highly recommend this restaurant but please be sure to make reservations.

I was lucky enough to secure a reservation for a late evening on New Year's Eve. The service and food quality were excellent.

The food is phenomenal!! Like Deeeelicious!! The parking on the other hand is not great, just come 10-15 before your reservation.

Excellent service, food, atmosphere and views. We had tuna sashimi and chanpinhones (stuffed mushrooms) for apps which were delicious. I ordered haddock for my entree and it was truly amazing with capers and reduction. Julie, our server, was top notch and down to earth. Thank you.

Went here last night this use to be one of my favorite places I have not been in about a year. Made reservations online, but they don’t tell you that there was a possibility you will be seated at a high top bar table with a reservation. When I inquired about why we were being placed in the bar, the hostess told me she has no control over that, and that is done by the owner. However, a party of two walked in behind us, and they were promptly sat in the dining room when I asked why however nobody had an explanation. They eventually did sit us at a low table in the bar area. It was extremely cold. It was extremely loud. In the past the service here has been amazing last night we had one waiter, who seemed extremely overwhelmed. I believe it was the manager that had stepped into help at one point, but she was less than helpful. The food has taken a major downturn as far as quality and taste. The risotto was bland, undercooked, and tastes like it was from a Rice-A-Roni box. Very disappointing experience will not be returning. If you are planning to go here based off prior experience, please know it is definitely not the same quality and service are awful.

Easy to make a reservation on line. Was seated right away at the exact time. No waiting. Service was awesome and she was very happy and friendly. Food was great and came out quick and hot. Great place to drink and eat. Thanks for your hospitality

We had heard good things about this restaurant, but our experience wasn't very good on Wed 12/6/23. The lounge area was freezing cold, I had to flag down a bartender after 20-30mins to see who to give our drink and food order- it felt like I was bothering him because he and another bartender ignored me for 10mins but they kept looking over at me. Apparently the manager was milling around in the background as she made eye contact several times but never thought to come by to check on us- we were the only table in the lounge. One wrong dish was served, and the kitchen must've realized this 20mins later as a dish with 2lbs of cripsy chicken arrived with no comment. At the end, I had to walk the bill up to the hostess stand, it was at this time that manager showed up to see how everything was- to which we replied not good from start to finish. She immediately threw her wait staff under the bus without us sharing our issues. At this point, I said we're good, it's pointless to discuss this now and we left. You be the judge...Is this salad justified at $23? I think not. One and done...there are other dining choices in the area.

My now-husband and I held our wedding rehearsal dinner at Alicante, and it was an amazing experience. We had eaten there a few times prior, and the manager himself came over to go over everything with us and show us the space after we said we were thinking about booking. They had an online portal for the event booking and were responsive with questions via email, even when management changed. The food was amazing, especially the rack of lamb, everyone raved about it. The service was good - our event hostess let everyone know about the event menu and even gave a toast to us which was sweet, and there were no issues even though we went over the event time block. The atmosphere was beautiful and romantic on the water for our event, and very close to our wedding venue. Easy decision and great experience! We look forward to going back for special occasions!

I give it 1 star but it is not in the case of trying this man’s restaurant food. This man is very disrespectful and as an owner should be aware of how he treats and talks to people. His mannerisms are far from polite. The fact that you come up to people and tell them to scatter enjoying a view in your parking lot. I am a human not a rat you can tell to scatter. Your ignorance is outstanding.

I had the rack of Lamb and it was perfect. The Lamb was medium rare with a nice wine reduction and the portion was huge! Served with Garlic mashed and a grilled sliced zucchini. You have to come here and try it. My date and the salmon dish that was cooked perfectly melting in her mouth.

Last visit was 15 years ago? Back in Mass for a wedding so we went back. The service was superior. There were so many excellent meal choices I was overwhelmed. From the start, everything from our drinks to the fresh rolls till the end was fantastic. The appetizer was the eggplant. I could have eaten just a plate of that and called it a day. My wife got the beef short ribs and I had the pork loin based on the servers recommendations. Could not have been better. Memorable meal. Will visit next time we're in Mass.

There's always a restaurant that people go to and love it for one of three reasons, food, service or atmosphere but Alicante's gives you all three. There food is fantastic, atmosphere is great but there waiters and waitresses are outstanding a step above everyone else. Keep up the great work guys.🤗👍

A random dude suggested this place to us and are we ever glad we followed up in the recommendation! Menu is enticing, lots of great choices. Our waiter was a delight and able to give suggestions and recommendations …the food was to die for from the eggplant appetizer to the lobster ravioli to the scrumptious crème brûlée for dessert. Excellent cocktails too!

This spot is usually a great spot with a Great Lake view. There were many missteps during the meal which took away from the enjoyment of a good meal. Had to ask repeatedly for bread, but by the time they brought it, they had taken the plates. One member of the party asked for a specific mock tail and they got it wrong. Twice they tried to deliver wine to our table that no one asked for. My husband’s meal came a good ten minutes before the rest of the meals hit the table! So he ate alone while we waited. By this time, we called over the manager. He was apologetic and went to find out what happened. He came back and explained a timing issue with how the food was erroneously put to the kitchen, again apologized and took two meals off the check. With all that, the food was good. I had lamb chops, one had filet, one had salmon and it was all good. They just were out of step.

Appears that new ownership has impacted both service and food quality. It saddens me that the last three visits at Alicante were disappointing. The chicken parmigiana was once my favorite dinner at Alicante until a couple months ago. Bland sauce, about 7 pieces of pasta and very little cheese is one example. Other folks in my party also noticed a significant difference. The once polished service is now inconsistent and sometimes absent depending on where we were seated. The bartenders were quick and responsive whereas the wait staff in the main dining room were noticeably slow. Even though the view is quite nice, it's not worth the degraded experience.

This place is a Gem! The view of the pond is lovely, the food is exquisite and the Service is top notch. Highly recommend the Sacchetti!

Great place! Make sure to get a reservation as it gets very busy. My go tos are the chicken parm. With pepperdelle pasta and topped with bolognese sauce. Also, the Brussel sprouts are to die for. Our server Alicia was great. Such a personality.

Everything was fantastic. Service was brilliant and very professional. Patrons were dressed up. It was a good time. It's really nice to be able to find a nice restaurant where you can wear dress up clothes and be classy. The food was so good. Atmosphere was both chill and romantic. Ww cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and the staff. They went above and beyond in serving us. Very cordial, friendly and efficient. The food was superb. The cocktails were equally as good. Bartender, Debbie, sure knows how to make great cocktails to satisfy. I absolutely LOVED my experience here!! If youre a seafood lover I highly recommend checking this place out. I had the crab cakes which were perfectly seasoned and the summer salad which was super fresh. My husband got the chicken parm and he says he never had any better. Prices are on the higher side but you totally get what you pay for! And you can't beat that beautiful view of the lake. We can't wait to come back!

This experience was really subpar. We went with another couple - the biggest observation was the portions were extremely small. (but the pricing wasn't) That included the portions from the bar as well. My pasta seemed to have been put together - some of it was cooked - some not so much. Based on this experience, we won't be going back. Lots of other options out there.

My son and I loved this restaurant and they were very nice and custome catered to my sons liking. My son’s favorite was the seafood dishes and he says it’s his favorite place ever. He is 8 lol “above the water”

Very nice smaller restaurant that seems perfect for a special occassion. Reservations needed and valet parking at front door. On a smaller lake in Mendon with a nice view from restaurant. Be certain to ask for the restaurant when making reservations or you could end up in the bar. Service was very good and specials added a nice variety to options on menu. Our specialty drinks were very good and food presented well and served hot. Would come back again.

Went for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Valet made things easy and the valet staff were great. However the food missed the mark for us and the service was lacking. It felt like the hostess wanted to be somewhere else, the waitress was rushing us and rude, and throughout the dinner the staff was dragging chairs and tables from one end to the other. Seems they had big groups and failed to organize well. The restaurant is far to narrow for that and getting bumped was annoying at best. Lastly this place is all glass and hard surfaces. This makes it very loud and hard to hear the person you are sitting next to. Such a bummer because this location is so nice.

This was my first time here and let me just say it was amazing! We went for a family dinner for a birthday and this place did not let us down! The food was amazing! One of the best Chicken Parmesan,which they call Pollo, I’ve ever had! The server was very attentive and even brought out a dessert plate with a message for my daughter’s birthday! The view speaks for itself which is visible from any table. We will definitely be back!

Excellent mask for the five of us. Some confusion getting seated. Don't know why b because we were early enough that there were plenty of open tables for a group of size. Food was excellent. Not cheap.

Don't get me worng, Alicante is still great place - but it does seem a bit "off" from how it used to be - and I think this is related to the change in ownership. Just hard to put your finger on it - but something is just a tad - less.

Wonderful food and servers. Always a pleasant experience. Byron, by far, is the most pleasant, friendly and conscientious worker. He is so accommodating and always strives to give the best service. Highly recommend Alicante to all friends and family. It is because of people like Byron, that keep us coming back!! Kudos to all!!!

I had the special,Sea Bass on thick noodles in a lemon wine sauce. Hubby's is Sea Scallops on Parmesian Risotto. Our 53rd anniversary.

Food was adequate , service has dropped off considerably with new ownership, also we had a major conflict with use of a gift card which was unnecessary as we had valid cards that weren’t honored. This was a great restaurant which has dropped the ball with the new ownership. Very unfortunate.

Someone told me lady gaga was there. So obviously when I saw a blonde woman with a bob, I went up and screamed "LADY GAGA". However, I soon realized this was in fact not Lady Gaga. This was my worst enemy. Also very overpriced. But I was willing to pay for it if my beautiful GAGA was there. She was not. Please make sure you guys aren't spreading false rumors like that. Thanks. Highly recommend Alicante if you are planning a wedding! We held a small wedding there this Saturday and everything was perfect. The staff was outstanding and the food..amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make this a special day! Thank you !!

This use to be one of our favorite place! Not anymore:( My husband and I took out my husband’s sister for her Bday and her husband. Neither one had ever been to Alicante’s. From the start to the end it was just horrible. I have an allergy to gluten, so our waiter was going to find out if a soup was gluten free. He never did, so I order a salad instead. When the salads came there were only 2 out of 3 and it took a solid 15+ minutes for the 3rd salad to arrive. By then my husband’s soup was cold because the whole table had waited to start. We had a waitress for cocktails, after one drink we never saw her again. My SIL changed her type of pasta and it came with the wrong pasta. I ordered Salmon, which was completely raw. Of course, I told the others to not to wait and to eat their entree while hot. It took 30 mins for my salmon to return. It was over garlic mashed potatoes with summer squash on the side. It appeared that they just removed my raw fish off my original plate and replaced it with a cooked piece. Which left me with very little potato and cold squash. When a waitstaff came back with my food, I told him that 3 of us would like another drink. They only came back with my drink. I wish I told them to keep my meal, since everyone was way past eating. They took the fee for my salad off! Wow, big deal. Especially, since I really wanted the soup! Spent just under 300, which included the tip. So not worth it!

The experience was fantastic (again) ! The atmosphere is great. The servers were friendly and extremely professional. The meals, this time pork loin and rack of lamb, was better than anything at the “famous” restaurants in Boston. The appetizers and desert were excellent as well. The chief was unbelievably accommodating, making my wife with her gluten sensitivity feel comfortable and safe. They even had a nice surprise for us to celebrate our anniversary. We are very fortunate to have such an establishment in our region.

Alicante's was always a restaurant that we enjoyed. Our meals last night were tasteless and not well prepared. Our waitress did a very good job! We will not be back.

Went here for a wedding shower. Excellent food and service. Great view of the lake however it’s is very noisy when the room is full. They need some sort of felt sound panels on the wall or ceiling to help buffer.

Dangerous parking situation I didn't know you were allowed to park on a state highway route 16 the local police allow businesses to use the state highway for parking as well as the state police I find it interesting they were giving a capacity amount and had no parking to accommodate it poor choice for a location for customer safety and the safety of all people traveling on the highway while these cars are legally parked I am handicapped and unable to walk the distance

Alicante seams like a very beloved local restaurant. People dress nicely and seam to be proud coming to this establishment. But if it’s your first time you’ll notice it’s very loud the servers are a bit comfortable more than professional. If your expecting high end service that comes with the price of their items you might be a little put off. They will reach across the table to serve you and sit down at tables near you with customers who they have probably served dozens of times. It seams like more of a high priced family restaurant where everyone is familiar with each other. Maybe your server is your neighbor or someone who goes to church with you so you don’t mind the casual levels of service. I was expecting a nice quiet place where I could take my mom from out of town. Now that I am aware of the experience I’ll adjust my expectations. The food was also good not great. I think because the property has a beautiful view that is the draw of the restaurant. The younger staff were a bit more professional than the older ones but I think they were newer and not as laid back as the existing servers.

We went with another couple. Beautiful views. We started with a drink. Then had app/salad from the “specials”. The seafood bisque was ok. The Greek salad was embarrassing. Brown Iceburg, 4 Kalamata olives, 2 slices of cuke, 2 cherry tomatoes, and a tablespoon of feta. And swimming in the “Greek” dressing. Meals: chicken parm - ok. Veal: ok. Tuna special - huge portion and she loved it. Salmon - ordered no potatoes extra veg. There were 6 slices of veg. The salmon had no flavor, and it had this gooey, fake tasting lemon “glaze” on it. I agree with a previous review - sure there is cook, but there is not a chef in the kitchen. We had a few drinks, and dessert. With tip - $400.00 Definitely won’t be back.

The food is consistently good with portions being filling enough for a few leftovers. The service in both the dining room and bar areas are great. Stand outs are Tim, Natalia and Josh at the bar. The dining room can get a little loud though. Parking during peaks can be challenging if you don't valet.

Service was VERY friendly and the location is beautiful. Food was decent but the dinning room was a 10 out of 10 on the loud scale. Needs some type of sound dampening our table of 4 was yelling to have a conversation.

2nd time here and equally impressed as the first visit. The stuffed mushroom and tuna sashimi appetizers are delicious. Ordered the pollo oscar for the entree and it was exactly as expected. The limoncello mascarpone cake is out of this world. To top it off, you have a gorgeous view of the lake.
