We sat outdoors which was nice for our toddler who gets loud every now and then. Enjoyed ricotta toast, pepperoni pizza, mushroom ragu pasta, gelato and Panna cotta. Amazing cocktails too. Indoor and outdoor area is beautiful. Service was nice and reasonably timed. They did not have many highchair but thankfully we brought our own. Also no true kids meal so we got a large creamy pasta which was too big and expensive for a toddler, but I understand this restaurant isn't geared for that specifically. A winner celebratory dinner for us.

I've been seriously craving some pasta. And OMG, Alleia Restaurant delivered! The caprese salad was so simple but flavorful, and those tomatoes were absolutely delish! The pasta is handmade every day and you can taste it. Not sure what spaghetti all’amatriciana translates to, but it was tasty and had big thick pieces of bacon. The serving was massive, easily enough for two people. Then came my "demure" panna cotta 🤣 ironically I saw the TikTok that started the demure thing, so I actually understood what the waiter meant. It was the perfect lightly sweet dish to finish dinner. The waiter was great, so friendly and encouraged me to relax and take my time. His wine recommendation was perfectly paired with my food. Im definitely coming back when I visit Chattanooga again.

I wanted to share feedback on our recent visit to Alleia to celebrate our engagement. While we initially enjoyed our meal, there was an issue with the salad we ordered. Despite specifically requesting that it be made vegan, it was served with cheese. This oversight was disappointing, especially given the importance of our celebration. Following the incident, we felt neglected by the staff. We were not offered a dessert menu and had to request one specifically to place an order. Overall, while the food was satisfactory, the service fell below our expectations, particularly for such a special occasion. Given this experience, I am hesitant to choose Alleia for future celebrations. I hope you take this feedback into consideration to improve your service for other guests.

Super chic industrial space with a wonderful ambiance centered around flickering flames to light a mix of comfortable seating and engaging art. Service is prompt, cheerful, and helpful. Menu is a mix of pizza, pasta, and main focus supplemented by a robust drink menu. My party enjoyed both the beer and wine selections though many others praised the cocktails. We tried the mussels which were flavorful before taking in a surprisingly large pizza and ravioli. Great portions of both. There is a small parking lot which serves the restaurant to the right of the building.

We are visiting from out of state and went to Alleia for the first time today. The food was excellent! We ordered sangria, bruschetta with ricotta and honey, and one entree each. I ordered the tonnarelli with mushroom ragout and my boyfriend ordered gnocchi with chicken sausage. Both were delicious and the portions were huge! We both ended up with takeout boxes. Other things to know: Entrance is wheelchair accessible. Parking lot requires payment. There is a dessert menu, we just didn't have any room left. :)

Went in no res, instantly seated! Ordered their mussels, and they were steamed to perfection a bit over salted but quickly overlooked by the soft texture. Moved on to my pasta dish, perfectly cooked house made pasta. Not over sauced like most American Italian restaurants. Shrimp were over cooked though. All and all loved our night out and the attentiveness the staff showed us!

My friend and I went here on a Saturday around 7 pm, and it was very busy. We did not have a reservation, so our wait was between 30-45 minutes. Highly recommend making a reservation either online or over the phone. We both ordered the braised short rib, and it was so delicious. It was served with a cherry relish, mashed potatoes, and broccolini. The meat was so tender, and the cherries were a nice touch.

AMAZING! not what I was expecting from an Italian restaurant in Tennessee. The food was unbelievable! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere was truly unique. They have an indoor area that's dimly lit and very romantic as well as bright and airy outdoorish seating, which was really nice for my "older" taste. I had the gnoochi, and it was amazing. They even brought us a complimentary scoop of gelato for our anniversary celebration that was like having a taste of Italy. Reservations definitely recommended.

Fantastic place for a date! The restaurant itself is in a beautiful building and I absolutely loved the dim lighting; even though it was crowded, it didn't feel so bad with the lighting and ambience and you're able to focus on your food and dinner companion. The spaghetti and the tagliatelle were both fantastic, the shrimp was overcooked in mine but minor detail as everything tasted great. We both got tiramisu for dessert and loved it. Service was great here! Definitely recommend for special occasions or to treat yourself.

Overall just a so so experience which was disappointing considering it was my spouse’s birthday dinner with family. For the positives, the appetizers were fantastic and the interior was nice. The issue is the negatives. Perhaps the appetizers were too good because the mains were nothing better than so so. This is supposed to be an upper scale Italian restaurant yet there was no “experience”. Plates were simply thrust in front of you apparently already seasoned the way they thought you should want and pasta served already with Parmesan on top instead of asking if you wanted it - which was unfortunate for our son since he doesn’t like Parmesan and we had to rake it off. The vegetables served with a carne (meat) dish were overly salted and neither in the party could eat them, which went unnoticed by the staff and even when told, we received a “oh I’m sorry” - not a let me get the manager or anything and in fact, in the multi course meal, never once did management check in on the table. The final straw was the restaurant allowing a small dog to be brought into the restaurant and held by the patron with its paws on the table despite them having an outdoor patio area. This was not a service dog, this was a small dog in a sweater that was brought into the restaurant in a carrier and then pulled out once they got to the table. This is a health issue and against local code.

Saw this restaurant online and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled to do so because when I asked my hotel front desk staff of their thoughts on the place- they said it’s a good choice but suggested another restaurant instead. I almost went to the other place but decided to follow my gut and give it a try. SO GLAD I DID! Food was great, love the ambiance (it’s dim/moody), and my server (Hannah) was great as well. We did not have a reservation... we sat quickly at a small 2 top table in the bar already. Atmosphere was laid back and dark. The service was the same. Granted, we were passing some time before a concert. If we had been in a hurry, that would have been a problem. We ordered quite a bit of food, I called it a diy 5 course. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! My wife and I were very happy with the quality and flavor of the we ordered. They were able to satisfy both of our cravings. We were also very happy we were not pressured to buy alcohol beings it was our sober date of the week. The dishes were well staggered, so we were not rushed in between courses. I equate the perfect timing to our wonderful server (I believe she picked up that we were not in a hurry although we never mentioned it) I believe if we would have been pressed for time they would have done everything they could to accommodate us. After all of that our check arrived. Keep in mind we ordered with our heart.... we were not pinching our pennies. The check was less then 80 dollars. I personally was blown away! We seized the opportunity to tip our server well before we took our doggy bag and enjoyed the sunset and a very relaxing concert. Thank you to all of the staff for a great experience we will be back.... In retrospect we should have bought the kitchen staff a round...., bit there is always next time!

We used to think this was the best Italian food you could get in Chattanooga, but it seems to have gone downhill…every time we’ve been recently the food has gotten progressively worse, and the last time we went 3/4 meals were pretty gross. Additionally, the Italian food seems to have a very American twist, and it just doesn’t work for me. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and dark with cool art. Service is pretty good. They do have amazing basil gelato. For the price, this place isn’t worth it.

Tips for the newcomer: ask to sit in the gorgeous front room if you are there with friends or family. If on a date or if you want a more private experience, ask for a booth. I actually don’t recommend the cocktails unless you get Tennessee Mountain Road or a chai-infused Old Fashioned during the fall months. I prefer the red wine list there. The best way to explore the menu is to keep it simple: try a no-frills pizza and a Caesar salad and split those with someone. Then split the chocolate cake with cinnamon gelato and pair it with freshly brewed black coffee. ♥️ The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is that the cocktails don’t match the rigor of the overall experience.

My boyfriend and I have had Alleia on our list of places to try for almost two years now, and it was SO worth the wait! We came in to celebrate his birthday and it was such a great experience! We were advised by some friends to not order too much and to split whatever we did choose so we could try a bit more without overordering and overspending. We are so glad we followed their advice! The portion sizes + the prices are very fair! We started with a glass of the house cabernet, and it was so well-balanced and paired nicely with our dinner. We skipped an appetizer and went for the Caesar Salad. The truffle oil was the perfect touch! For our main course, we had the margherita pizza and spaghetti all’amatriciana. The pizza was one of the best we have ever had! This was the first time i’ve had all’amatriciana style sauce and it made the dish even more amazing! Our server, Jo, was absolutely amazing! He provided attentive service and great conversation! Jo helped make the evening so special, and even brought out a special gelato dessert for my boyfriend! I wish I could remember the flavor, but it was blackberry butter-something and was the cherry on top of our meal! If you’re reading this, thank you so much again! Don’t be like my boyfriend and I and wait two years to finally make a reservation. This wasn’t just a dinner, it was an experience. It is so worth it!!

The decor and vibe of this restaurant is beautiful. I enjoy dimly lit restaurants, blessed with lots of candles for ambience, and funky artwork in an old-world looking setting, so that you have the clash of the modern and the traditional. This was a gorgeous restaurant. It checked all of the boxes for me. Let’s talk about the cocktails and the food. The cocktails were top notch. I also appreciate a restaurant that has well-balanced cocktails and lots of interesting options. (Aside: Is Falurnum in everything now? It’s the new aperol) I love a lot of wonderful red wines by the glass, especially with an Italian restaurant, because those big, beautiful reds can stand up to some of the pasta and meat dishes. The cocktails were excellent and the wine list was really very good. The food: mostly everything we enjoyed. They had a bit of a different take on a beef carpaccio than I would have liked. Normally, there’s a little bit of shaved Parm on top, and this seemed to be a lot more shaved Parm, than I am accustomed to. Would rather be all about the beef. The Parm overwhelmed it. My husband had a ravioli, and it seemed as if all the filling had leaked out. They were literally empty. He opened a few. Nothing…But there was a lot of filling on the plate, so perhaps some leakage happened. The stand out was my pasta amatriciana. If a restaurant looks authentic and they don’t have an amatriciana on the menu, I will often ask if the kitchen can make one. I love them. It’s just so classic and simple. A traditional one has guanciale, which is pork jowl, but if you have a good bacon, or pancetta, like this restaurant did, it’s still an exquisite dish. This was a very good interpretation of amatriciana and again, great bacon. We wanted to try the pizzas, but did not have the opportunity, and so we ordered two pizzas to go, so we could enjoy them later back at the Airbnb. Both of the pizzas we ordered were very good. They made a wonderful late night snack! Our server was attentive, and again the wine list was excellent. So overall, I would say this is a great experience. I’m deducting one star, because of the ravioli, but it is certainly a restaurant we would try again.

Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner for our 30 person law firm retreat! The event organizers made everything so easy. Service was exceptional, atmosphere was nice, and food was excellent. Lots of praise from the attendees. Thanks for a great event!

The food was amazing and the service was great! The seating in the back room, where 2 large parties were, was extremely noisy. Once the parties left, it was nice and quiet.

This was a beautiful place with a spectacular menu. This is traditional Italian food that anyone will love. We had a wonderful evening and we will definitely be back.

I’m not sure what the literal translation of the word “alleia” is. But, in our book, it means “fun!” This beautiful Italian restaurant in downtown Chattanooga has great food, drinks, service and general ambiance. Two in our party had pizza; two had salads; and we shared appetizers and gelato for dessert. All were fantastic. My favorite bite of the night was the crunchy, savory arancini (fried stuffed rice balls) we had as starters. Three different kinds of gelato - basil, pistachio, and vanilla - made for a perfect ending.

If you’re not familiar with real Italian food the menu is highly confusing. Thankfully our waitress was very helpful and great at explaining it. Out of our party of 5, 1 of us liked our food. The cocktails and the atmosphere were definitely the highlight of the place.

I highly treasure this fine-dine-in restaurant in downtown Chattanooga! Alleia, the place that showed me that I have a huge soft spot for lamb! I have never been so pleased with lamb before and now it’s my favourite meat. Along with this lamb dish, you’re served with what tasted like salted purple cabbage and the crispiest but puréed sweet potatoes you will ever encounter. The combinations of the food was delightful and simply beautiful, I would give it a 11/10 if I could. The hand dipped Ricotta Bruschetta Truffle Honey was a very fitting appetiser, overall the place is great and affordable for what they have to offer.

We sat at the bar, but the experience was nothing less than perfection! Jay, Daniel, and Cam were an incredible bar team that gave us their full attention just like a server. Every course, from the salad and mussels to the tonerelli and the bacon wrapped quail were absolutely fabulous. The bar team was amazing at explaining the best options for each corse as well, with well thought out explanations for each selection. Even the hosts/hostesses were super friendly even when we did not have a reservation. Highly recommend. We have explored Chattanooga several times and this place is definitely top of our list! Thanks for the great food and especially great service! - The Loves ❤️

The braised beef short rib was absolutely amazing and tender. The entire dish was incredible! My wife got the chicken gnocchi which was also good. I had an old fashioned to drink and it was great. No complaints at all! Alleia lived up to the hype in my opinion. Can’t wait to come back again.

Alleia, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a culinary delight. The mussels were impeccably prepared, showcasing a perfect blend of flavors. The butternut squash ravioli was a standout, with each bite offering a rich and savory experience. The dishes were so delectable that my fiancee and I couldn't resist ordering a second helping of everything to savor the flavors once again the next day. A truly memorable dining experience at Alleia.

My new favorite place in Chattanooga! We are on a "world tour" so far this has been a fave. The short ribs were amazing. I would order again and again and again!! Server was great. The atmosphere (we sat on patio) was nice as well. Can't wait for our next time to stop in.

Awesome atmosphere and great food. Really enjoyed the paparadelle with pork. Pork was tender, pasta was fresh and the dish was very flavorful. Carpaccio also was great as an appetizer. I'd also highly recommend their pizzas. Definitely more of an Italian style than a New York style to the pizza but they had lots of reasonably priced, large sized personal pizzas with unique flavors. Service was also very attentive and friendly.

We visited Alleia for a birthday dinner. I ordered the tallegio flatbread and Caesar salad. It was delicious. Our hostess was prompt, personable, knowledgeable about the menu, and seemed to enjoy his job. His name was Jake and made my first visit feel extremely comfortable. The lighting was low with candles on the table. Overall it was a great experience and I will plan to visit again!

I’m not sure if we were there on an off night but the food was unimpressive. We asked our server for recommendations and she sold us on the mussels and how the sauce would be something we dreamed out but we found them to be nothing special, in fact a it was bland. The pasta was also bland and the chicken sausage that came with the gnocchi tasted like a basic sausage I can pick up at Publix. With all the good reviews we just have to think we came when the cooks had an off day but it might stay off my list the next time I visit Chattanooga.
