Loved the IPA, watermelon sour, and most of all the Cedar County Cobras concert!

Good ambience and quality beers are available. I would personally say the beers are some of the best I have had around Midwest regions. They have limited food/snack options.

When in Ames, Alluvial is a must stop for me and should be for all craft 🍺 lovers. They are great at their craft and the quality has always been top tier regardless of style. Great venue with solid indoor & outdoor space to enjoy the farm setting.

It's not inside the town, but the quality of drinks are exceptional. I had heard a lot about it from others. Today I experienced it too. Ambience is good.

Hands down the best brewery in all of Iowa. Every single beer they turn out is awesome and the quality is extremely high. Definitely a hidden gem not alot know about.

Beer is okay, but the staff doesn't really seem like they want to deal with customers. They really need to have food available too. Went to a concert at Alluvial. It's great to see them bring in bands. The band was way too loud. It was painful to be in the building while the band performed, so we ended up sitting on the patio. I would have enjoyed the concert experience, but it ended up being a waste of money. Still want to support Alluvial.

Great little microbrewery. Love to meet up with friends after work. In the summer, they have live music and food trucks. I like the fruit based drinks and had both the ginger beer and the hard cider. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for something a bit different than the local chain restaurants down town.

My business hosted our Puzzlepalooza competitive puzzle event here and it was awesome. They set up and reserved space for us, the facilities were high quality and the staff was attentive and friendly. Big ups to Matt and Kyle! Highly recommend.

In the middle of nowhere, ok not really but close, this is an Art lovers dream. From the amazing artwork that adorns the walls. To an amazing stage that really showcase an musician lucky enough to find the venue. To an attentive and appreciative clientele that show true respect to the performers. These gems are few are far between, add this location to your list of must visits!! Oh and the beer is great too!!

Great place to sit outside and enjoy the patio area. There is plenty of outdoor seating and the dark brews are great for fall.

Enjoyed the outside space, lots of places to sit and nicely spread out. Tried their red table wine, it will do in a pinch.

When I got my card back, the beer tender threw it out. I’ve been this place several times, usually liked it. But today service was so rude, terrible. I’ll never go again.

We just moved to the area and this is one of the few places in town that allows dogs on the patio. Wonderful, peaceful location and great lager! Plus, we don't have to leave our very needy beagle mix at home.

Words can hardly describe my love for Alluvial. I've lived in Ames for around 8 years and it's always been my go-to place. Amazing atmosphere, staff, and above all, quality. You will always have a special spot in my heart, Alluvial!

If the beer wasn't worth the drive I'd rate it lower. Great atmosphere love the building and the beer is solid. All round hard pass. Drove an hour out of our way this time to stop for 15min with the family if you're a dad needing a beer and debating the stop.

We had a great time at Alluvial. It is next to Prairie Moon winery (we did not visit the winery), so nicely placed amid grape wines and corn fields. The tap room is lovely, a nice blend of barn and high art esthetic. We tried all the beer. Everything was nice for their category, the porter was sweet (which I like, but others may not) and the stout was not hoppy at all. I liked the lager and normally don't. The gorilla (beer milkshake) was actually gross and I almost spit it out. I tried a second sip just to be sure, and that's a whole lotta nope. They have tons of board games and outside seating (so family friendly), and an area for live music. This is a hidden gem of breweries.

Great atmosphere with a huge tasting room, the back room has a stage for entertainment. Had the Imperial Stout with PB and the Mango Cat Paw. It definitely holds its own compared to other hard seltzers!

Decent beer, though they rotate brews frequently and don't have much for 'staples'. Still usually pretty good and love the atmosphere.

I visited alluvial the other day with my family to try a flight. I enjoyed the beer although there were a few I could not try because of the lactose so that was a bit of a bummer. My favorite was the coffee beer. I really like the environment as it is full of artwork and plants and they also have a nice outdoor area. One of the best things about this brewery is all the board games they have to play. Also they sell seasoned popcorn which is delicious and I highly recommend trying while you are here. it looks like they also have a back room that you can rent for events. I would definitely come back.

One of the best breweries in central Iowa. Their beer is consistently excellent, and the taproom is one of the best places to hangout in town. During the summer they have food trucks and live music. If you like beer, and are in Ames, this is a must see.

The milk stout is amazing! A little more chili spice and it would be my absolute favorite beer of all time.

Having recently returned to Ames I needed a place to meet up with an old friend.to catch up. We hit the jackpot here at Alluvial. I pulled in around 4pm, just ahead of a food truck. The gal pulled a couple of IPA's for us in some squatty but bulbous little glasses and we found us a place to sit. Unhurried inside we yucked it up for an hour or so until the interior filled up with folks and got kinda loud. We moved the "party" outside and quickly found a table among people waiting for the entertainers to begin under a small shelter tent. What a great place to enjoy a few excellent beers and hang out with the good people of Iowa.

Nice brewery on the north side of Ames. Rustic setting. No food in house most of the time, but food truck available when I was there. Beers were $5-6, and had a nice variety. About 12 or so on tap.

This place is always fantastic. They haven't been open long, but they have pretty quickly become one of the best breweries in all of Iowa. Always a good selection and they change out brews and do interesting stuff all the time. Must hit spot in Ames.

I love taking a loop around Ada Hayden and then heading to Alluvial right after for a delicious and cold local beer in a great environment with friendly people and games! It's also a great place to bring your out-of-state friends for a taste of Iowa! :)

Excellent verity of beers. Staff is unsurpassed; knowledgeable, fun, fast, engaging & professional. Beautiful building and grounds. Not a just a place to chug a beer, but a destination location. But no one would fault you for stopping by and throwing back a pint of their quality ales..... Enjoy!
