There are plenty of coffee shops around here, but none compare to Alonso's. The staff is always friendly, kind, and professional—oh, and they're FAST too! The atmosphere is perfect for getting work done; I just wish they were open 24 hours. And of course, the coffee is fantastic!

After one visit and trying the vanilla cinnamon iced latte, my husband and I have become regulars at Alonsos. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and you always know your drink is going to be good!

I love this place, I come here eat breakfast burritos everyone is pretty friendly and just a great vibe. I bring my dates here most of the time and they have a great time trying the matcha drinks. My personal fav is the cherry lemonade

If I could give them 10 stars, I would! My daughter and I go in every morning, and we're always welcomed with a smile and conversation. So much better than some chains around us, like Boxwood or Starbucks. They use the best quality ingredients & coffee beans. The homemade syrups are to die for...cannot praise them enough! Thanks for always putting a smile on my baby's face and giving me the energy to start my day right!

One of the best coffee shops around. Had a terrific Columbian/ Brazilian pourover and the all time best Strawberry Creamsicle Latte. The breakfast burritos are fantastic. The owners are super likeable and accommodating. I guess that's why I drive 25 minutes weekly to visit. The place is really nice also. This place is everything a great coffee shop should be

I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to review Alonso’s Cafe! Diana and Jean are incredibly warm and friendly, and make you feel like you’ve been friends forever. Even more importantly, the coffee and matcha here is exceptional. The best I’ve ever had. Many of the flavors are homemade and each season, there’s something new and exciting offered. I’m so happy they serve breakfast burritos now, in addition to delicious pastries, because they’ve become a one stop shop for me and my partner. Happy almost one year to Alonso’s!

Walked in for a latte and it was the best coffee! It’s such a cute cafe with a great vibe. The owners are so sweet. Seating is available if you want to come in and chill/work/study. Best coffee place in NJ hands down! The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. The coffee and burritos are top tier and if you haven’t had the Lotus plant based energy drink, do yourself the favor! It’s my new favorite drink.

Alonso’s has quickly became one of my favorite cafes in the area. The owners are always kind and helpful. Coffee taste great, they have home made syrups. Cafe is always clean!!

Went for the first time this morning and had the creme brûlée latte, and it was delicious. Definitely a new favorite.

I recently started visiting Alonso’s and have to say that I’m quite impressed with it. First of all, its interior is adorable and cozy; it feels like stepping into a friend’s house. Secondly, the staff (who I think might be the owners?) are very warm and friendly. Lastly, their coffee tastes so fresh and smooth! I loved their flat white & toasted marshmallow latte. I’ve lived around this area for the majority of my life and definitely think Garwood needed a small & high quality coffee shop like this. I can’t wait to continue coming here!

OMG!! I almost don’t want to write this review to keep this best kept secret coffee shop a hidden gem!! Alonso’s is a small coffee shop in Garwood that has AMAZING coffee, atmosphere, and owners!!! Their lattes are so good, you are going to keep wanting to go back and order from them!!! 5 out of 5 stars (wish I could give them more than 5!) hands down!!

I came here because I have never seen a cafe with 5 stars with more than 1-10 reviews. This one has 64 of them with not a single bad one. Friendly relaxed service and great coffee in a clean, light space. Everything a cafe should be! Decent wifi connection too

Go to spot for coffee since they opened. Friendly service and coffee is delicious. Pretty sure beans are roasted in New Jersey, so really like that the owners stay local instead of shipping from, let’s just say…Seattle. Give the place a shot if you’re in the area!

TLDR: The Best Coffee for hundreds of miles. A little bit more detail you say? A brilliant assemblage of quality traditional tools, in conjunction with excellent nuanced ingredients, and fantastic pride in craft, Alonso’s is just epic. I cannot say enough about how wonderful of an experience is offered. Please visit!

Stopped by this place for the first time today and I will certainly be back! Excellent coffee and super friendly service. We ordered the seasonal honey vanilla latte (iced) with almond milk and it tasted like fall!! So delish. We also got the cheddar biscuit warmed up - very good!

This is a hidden gem in the area, aside from the stellar coffee, the owners are such kind hearted and welcoming individuals. Highly recommend to any locals and people passing by!

I went to Alonso's today and I enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee. The coffee had the right balance between bitter and smooth. My girlfriend loved the chai tea and she exclaimed, "this is the best chai that I have ever had." The owners are some of the nicest people that you will ever meet. I suggest that you go as soon as possible!

Alonso’s isn’t just the best cup of coffee in Garwood, it’s the best cup of coffee in the Area ( westfield, cranford, scotch plains, Clark….). It’s an awesome couple who own a local cafe. Every town needs more of these, especially Garwood. Stop it today you won’t be dissapointed.

Went there this morning, got an iced chia tea latte and a iced hibiscus tea along with some pastries. Service was great and food and drinks were amazing. This will definitely be my new weekend go-to spot.

I moved here a little over 2 years ago and have been wishing for a cafe in walking distance with good coffee. Well this place has GREAT coffee and even better people. The owners have created a welcoming space and are not only making delicious coffee, but are personable and take the time to chat. So excited Alonso’s has come to the neighborhood!

I ordered an iced caramel oat latte and the owner asked if I wanted the caramel drizzle bc it has dairy. I’ve never been asked that before and it just made me so happy she asked. Def my new go to AND I love that I can walk to it from home.

This new coffee shop is owned by the most precious people who clearly took their time and effort to bring this town a cozy new spot to enjoy! The chai latte was incredible & croissant was excellent. The food and drinks got me in the door but the people and the atmosphere will keep me coming back for more. 10/10 would highly recommend
