My husband has been getting Strombolis here for over 10 years and they have always been delicious until tonight. There was hardly any meat on it

I love their food, but I was really upset when the cashier charged me a 20% tip on a pick up order. I went out of my way to pick it up to avoid extra costs, but without my consent, he added the extra fee. I didn’t realize it till my card was already charged, so I let go. Now I’m reluctant to purchase from them.

Your basic pizza shop, but with good food!!

My cheesesteak was burnt and a piece of what looks like mold or lint was inside of my order of fries, will not be returning!! 😡

I called and started ordering something off menu, so Brenda got on the line (I think she’s the owner or manager). Anyways she hooked up my meal (pasta primavera)! It’s the first meal that I’ve eaten in a while and I’m scared to eat because I have been sick and the last meal I ate I threw up. I’m hoping that the portion I ate stays down, but I at least know that I’m eating real ingredients made with love and it tastes great! Thank you, Brenda & Amalfi! If ever passing through again, I will certainly stop.

Eating here was a wonderful experience for the first time seeing that there was table service which most pizza joints don't have! The food here also arrived quickly and was very tasty. I will definitely be coming back!

Amalfi has been a staple in this area for decades. They have some of the best pizza around. Forget chain restaurants when you can get crispy and chewy hand made crust and top quality ingredients. They do cheesesteaks right. I moved away from this area and Amalfi Pizza was a craving that was hard to fill. Glad this establishment is still thriving.

I've been coming here for a long time and all has been great until tonight. I purchased a pizza and crunched down on what looks and feels like glass and was thankfully my last bite of crust. The rest is in the trash! I'll let you be the judge. Glad it's still on the plate and not inside me!

My husband and I came in for lunch. First thought when walking in...it's quaint and cozy. It smells INCREDIBLE. Music and atmosphere is very relaxed. There were multiple people available to answer questions about the many many types of pizza. Everyone was friendly. We ordered 6 different types of pizza...all of which were unique in toppings and the presentation was fun. I was shocked that our bill was so cheap. The slices are HUGE! My only regret is I've lived here my whole life and didn't know about this place sooner. We are looking forward to coming back and trying more pizzas and other menu items. 5 stars all the way!!!

Amalfi Pizza 🍕! Located in Newark inside Suburban Plaza. A GREAT spot to get a slice! Always hot, always fresh! They have so many specialty slices to choose from! Garlic knots are delicious! Dine in or carry out! Speciality slices run you $4 for any kind! You can’t beat it. Anytime I’m in the area and craving a slice I stop in! Clean establishment! Friendly staff! Would highly recommend! If you are in the area give them a try and see why they are so good! 😊

Some great pizza offerings. Coming for lunch is the best as you can pick from all sorts of variety. I've had many of the pizza options and each has been quite tasty. Pricing is fair. The only downside to the restaurant is that the seating area is on the small side. Recommended.

My boss picks up food from there at least two to three times a week and on occasions he brings me pizza meatballs and spaghetti with meat sauce its great I live right in the back of it I love the food it's absolutely great the service is great the owner and everyone there is absolutely the best I would rate at the best pizza restaurant

A fantastic place to eat! The options of pizza styles was amazing, and the service was quick and friendly. We had a larger crew, 9 in total, and they accommodated us with ease and comfort during the middle of the week, a Thursday afternoon. They even sprung for a slice of red velvet cake for my son's birthday! Restrooms were nice and clean, which as a parent of several kids under 10, helps ease my mind considerably about any place. Definitely would visit again if we're back in the area!

This place is hands down the best Italian food in the area. There are also items where they thought out of the box like the Caesar salad on pizza ... absolutely amazing! Their garlic rolls are loaded with cheese and garlic and you can tell they serve good food cause they appreciate good food, if that makes sense. Either way, it's a must try!

Living in NY most of life & moving here- this is the Best pizza around so far that I have tried.

Our go to place for big NY style pizza with amazing toppings. Sounds weird but their Chicken Caesar pizza is the best! Literally has a pound of fresh chicken on it! We always order a large one of those and pick out a bunch of other slices ranging from meatball to veggie options. Bring your appetite!

The meatballs have a wonderful sauce. The chicken Alfredo sauce is extremely delicious. The chicken they used on the Caesar salad was my favorite part of the meal we had.

2/16/24 Lunch time was hopping! Plenty of slices to choose from to get you going right out the door and delicious to boot. Definitely try it out if you're able.

Best garlic knots in DELAWARE so far. I’ve been going around searching for a good pizzeria and so far this one is winning had to drive from new castle though but it was worth the 20min drive. Pizza was almost perfect just needed to be a bit more saucy for me and maybe a bit more hints of basil but the slice did take me back to BK NY DEFINITELY the closest pizza to a NYC pizza. Place was a little packed but called ahead so no long wait staff was pretty cool and cooks in the back were enjoying a laugh or two while making pies! No wonder pizza are good there’s happy staff getting things done back there. Will be sliding through for future pizza nights.

I support your business often with my family. I stopped in tonight to grab a quick two slices of cheese pizza. I was in a hurry. There was no cheese ready and I was told 5 mins until one came out of the oven. 13 minutes later the girl looked at me because I headed to the register because I couldn't wait any longer. She tells the possible owner to check the pizza. At that point he says f,@k because they forgot it. I saw it come out burnt. He tried to hurry up and throw two slices in a box and said here you go. I said I have to go I'd like my money back. He then says it's ready here.....I said I'd like my money back. He hands me the box again which I don't take and then he asks me....do you really want your money back?!? Next time do not tell someone five minutes and then act like it's a problem to give their money back or lastly give them burnt pizza. Terrible service!!!

When we first walked in the seating availability is really limited but this was not an issue and we were seated right away. The first thing we tried were the garlic knots. They didn't have a real buttery garlic flavor but they were very soft and pillowy with a light butter and garlic taste. My friends got a Hawaiian pizza which they said was good. I got the broccoli pizza. First off I want to say I know the pizza is going to be good when the toppings don't slide off. Too many times I've eaten at a pizza place and all my toppings go when I pick up the slice, NOT HERE! The pizza crust is very soft and thick. The toppings on my pizza tasted freshly picked from a vegetable garden. They were so fresh and juicy. The white sauce and ricotta was so delicious. I recommend this pizza place If you're looking for a quick sit-down or grab and go pizza spot with delicious pizza!

Took my money online and closed early. Went to pick up and told "sorry" closed and we can NOT refund your credit card. Call tomorrow to come back and pick up cash. DO BETTER

This wasn't the second time in the last 2 weeks that I've gotten snubbed. Trying to place an order, thank God. The girl who work in the morning took my order the first time. After 5, I quess they don't need tips. The Spanish chick that works at night. She only wants to wait on whoever she wants to wait on. But it wasn't me that she wanted to wait on. She snubbed me twice? Won't be going bCk there. Tried to dine in.

The food is very good and made in a timely manner despite being busy most of the time! Staff is always very friendly and welcoming as well, worth the stop if you’re in the area!

Amalfi has been our favorite for many years. I recommend them to everyone. I got there today, after sitting in traffic for three hours on my way home from work, and paid for my order. I even left a 15% tip. I always do. Then I found they had my salad ready, but no one made my pizza. I said, "so, now I have to wait for you to make my pizza." I'm sure my anger was evident. The two guys making pizzas argued with each other about whose fault it was. I had to wait for them to finish their argument and make my pizza. When my pizza was done, he brought the order to the front counter and just announced the type of pizza I ordered and handed it to me. No "I'm sorry for your wait." I didn't get an apology from the cashier. The waitress walked past me numerous times and just stared at me. At one point, her and the pizza maker looked my way and I think I heard her say "He'll get over it." Whatever she said, her glare was not friendly. When I got home, the pizza was under-cooked and the chopped salad was wet and mushy from sitting on the counter with hot food for too long. Is this the way to treat a long time customer? I've had similar situations over the years at other take-out restaurants. At the very least, there's an apology. At another pizza place in Newark, under very similar circumstances, I was given a $5 coupon toward my next order. Sadly, I'm not sure I'll be back To Amalfi. Maybe my neighbors were right that the quality has gone down since Andy sold it. If you're ever in Western PA, you can stop at Andy's place, Tony's Pizza Cafe, in Sarver, PA and remember better days at Amalfi.

One of my favorite restaurants in Newark. Everything is fantastic, except unfortunately, 2nd time the veal parm was over-cooked, hard and chewy. I guess I’ll have to get that dish elsewhere going forward. Everything else I’ve ever had has been to die for, so this is very disappointing. Love this place otherwise!

Almafis food for the price is amazing. Food pizza and subs are always hot and fresh, the burgers are really good. The pasta dishes are the best!!!!! You can eat in, but it is more of a take out spot as far as the setting. That does not change the quality of the food. They also use luscious rolls out of NJ which are phenomenal !!!

So I have been here many times in the past and it’s always 4 1/2 five star. Decided to go there today and I get a cheese sub. It’s got nothing on it or next to nothing spent $28 for a slice of pizza, a soda, a water, a bag of chips and a caprice, he salad pizza had new spice at all. What the hell happened?

Ordered a Large New Yorker Pizza. Pizza was absolutely loaded.. maybe the heaviest Pizza I have ever carried by out of a place. Called the order in and it was ready shortly after I arrived. Was delicious if not messy to eat. I'll be eating on this thing for days.. not that I'm complaining.

We were looking for a place to sit down and eat some good quality family made pizza. This place is well worth it. It's tiny and definitely doesn't look like much however, their food is so fantastic! Staff is slow. Waited for 20 minutes for the girl to remember to put pizza in oven. I could bake a new one faster. Steak pizza sucked.

Take out this trip as there really isn't a lot of in house dining. But we had three type of pizza, garlic knots and large donut holes. Everything was good and warm to perfection. Next time we will try a whole pizza to order.

We've loved Amalfi pizza for years when we lived nearby and now that we don't, everytime we visit we have to get Amalfi! First, their pizza is top notch- good crust, good sauce, premium quality toppings! We got 4 slices from their glass counter, Sicilian cheese, tomato pie, sausage/pepper/mushroom/onion and pepperoni. The tomato pie was excellent crispy crunchy external crust and rich flavorful tomato topping! The other slices were also perfection. We also got some garlic knots bc they are thr best we've ever had! We ordered 2 sandwiches an eggplant parm sub and a pizza steak with pepperoni. The eggplant was thinly slices lightly breaded and fried to golden brown, add their marinara cheese on a crispy sub roll so good! You can't go wrong, we've tried everything on their menu- all great! The owners and staff are friendly and professional.

Best pizza in the area. Having grown up in MA with good pizza places near by, I was extremely disappointed with pizza in the Newark area until I found Amalfi's. Amalfi's make real pizza, most place don't know that pizza sauce should be seasoned. Not only do they have great pizza, they have a many options as well. The other options the have the portions are typically large enough to serve 2 comfortable. I highly recommend Amalfi's, especially if you know what good pizza is.

Decided to risk it with the veal parm and it was perfectly tender. Rarely can find good veal especially around here. Definitely recommend, only Italian place around here that tastes like home.

Great food, they have the best garlic knots in Newark! They are a little doughy but not undercooked, oily, and have plenty of cheese on them. I feel it shouldn't be hard to do that but Almalfi is the only people who do it how I enjoy it. Pizza options are always great literally 8 to 12 options of slices to pick from. I enjoy a chicken bacon ranch. The seating is on the smaller side (which is why I took one star from atmosphere). I've never eat in but if I had the time, I would. This is a great option if your looking for pizza and cannolis! Stop by here if your looking for pizza I've never been disappointed. They consistently are a great choice!

I asked the guy to make me NY style thin crust pizza not regular crust he made me tomato sauce pizza with no cheese. He barley spoke English when I told him this is not what I ordered he started cursing me out in Spanish like I didn’t understand him he started doing it again to his friends and when ahead threw some cheese on top of my pizza with his dirty hands. He shouldn’t have made food he was just answering phone and handling cash and prepared my food without washing his hands 😤🤮 didn’t even offer me new pizza I know it was misunderstanding but it is not my fault that he has broken English. I shouldn’t have taken that pizza it was nasty but I didn’t wanna make drama in front of their customers. Very unprofessional service. Never coming back!

I ate lunch here with my brother because we wanted to try a new restaurant. We tried several items and rated them. Cheese pizza by the slice: 8.5/10 Cheese Sicilian pizza by the slice: 8/10 Garlic knots: 10/10. Best garlic knots I've had. Bread was chewy and the knots weren't overly drenched in butter (good thing) Cheese mix sub: 7/10 (Very solid offering nothing extraordinary, but is a good sub nevertheless.) And finally, The Eggplant Parmesan Sub: 11/10. Rating this any lower would be a crime. Most eggplant parm I've had skimp on the Eggplant however, this is not the case with Amalfi. This sub is LOADED with Eggplant and is Crispy, Moist, and Flavorful. The roll was expertly toasted and the sauce and cheese ratio was on point. 10/10 will be returning. And if anyone disagrees, you are wrong.. thank you.

This is our "go to" place for great pizza. Last night we decided to change things up. We had an antipasto salad and chicken piccatta. The picatta had three large breasts on a bed of pasta (your choice) in a delicious lemon wine sauce. It came with a salad and we were akso given a bastek of rolls and tomoyo pie. Next time I cater a party, I know where I am ordering from, Amalfi!

I have eaten at this restaurant numerous times and always had an enjoyable experience until 9/3/22. Absolutely everything I ordered was overcooked. My Stromboli over cooked, slightly burned and the insides were dry. My Sicilian pizza was overcooked. My roasted vegetables were overcooked and mushy. If this were my first time here I would never return. I certainly hope this was an isolated incident and take it back to the quality I used to know. My family did not even finish our food as we were so disappointed.

By far my favorite pizza place in the Newark area. Their gourmet pizza slices are pretty big and never disappoints!

18 Jul 2022: solo dinner. Eggplant parmigiana dinner that came with Caesar salad and bread. Good food. Big portion size. Dining in available. $17 for the meal. Overall recommendation: worth trying

Absolutely disgusting restaurant. This is the SECOND time we had issues with this place. The first time we found a BUG in our pizza. THIS time we found MOLD on the bottom of one of the burgers! Definitely will be getting our money back and never returning. You guys need to clean tf up and start being more responsible before you make someone seriously ill. Theres no excuse for multiple mishaps.

This is by far the best pizza joint in the Newark Bear area. They have all kinds of specialty slices and a great lunch special. Their garlic knots are out of this world. I send anyone new to the area here first so they don't have to wait to find a great pizza. Highly recommend. Staff is very friendly and service is always fast.

On my way back from the Maryland zoo we stopped here for a quick bite. My 4 year old wanted something very specific. They made a really nice pizza to order. Highly recommend.
