Absolutely wonderful! Great little place with a homey feel, kind people with a nice sense of humor, and fantastic food for very reasonable prices. We got fish and chips. The fish was perfectly fried -- juicy, crispy, and just delicious! (Also really appreciate that there was vinegar at the table). Clam chowder was great, too. We'll definitely be back!

Family run restaurant, excellent food, good portions never ever disappointed. Huge takeout business with 6 or 8 tables for dine in. Perfect summer night is to pick up a platter and head the the nearby park to enjoy it!

My husband and I had lunch at Amaral's today and we already look forward to our next visit. I had the smaller fish & chips, my husband the calamari dinner. The portions and the preparation were perfect. Highly recommend Amaral's.

Family business that is well known for generations of consistent, delicious, fish and chips. I personally love their clam cakes also. Can get very busy on Fridays/weekends so consider calling your order in. Definitely more of a takeout spot but it’s charming inside should you choose to dine in. Can’t wait for my next order!

Classic fish and chips joint. Service is stellar. Some of the best fish and chips - the fish is so light and crispy and or STAYS crisp. Enjoyed the baked fish as well. It was tender and flavorful. Loved the vibe, lots of regulars and folks from the area enjoying lunch.

Pretty good fish and chips. I liked them fine, but a family member said they're the best around. Others in the group got grinders - while belly clam was good but nothing special, chourico was well received. It was very busy when we went in, but wait wasn't too terribly long. Staff is super nice. Not a ton of seating.

It's a neighborhood restaurant, but it's special, delicious, and friendly. I don't think I've ever seen fish and chips at this price in the US. The meat made from detoxification is delicious, and perhaps because they use good oil, the food is all savory and delicious. The clam fritters are also delicious. This is a place to do it if you have it nearby.

If you want good quality fried seafood at a timely speed, you can't do any better than here.

1 day ago 6/19/24 I was recommended by a friend to try the fish and chips I went there around 5:00 pm to pickup small fish and chip didn’t wait long but I received the nastiest fish and chip ever cold the batter was greasy the fries were cold I did eat the fish and fries but never again will I drive there from Massachusetts the food was terrible please don’t order takeout cuz you will get some cold and nasty food 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻🤮👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

The best Rhode Island chowder in the state. Yesterday’s portion was strong on clam flavor packed with sea clams and hogs and firm potatoes. Thanks for keeping the quality high even in the busy summer.

Came to try the famous fish and chips. They do not have parking really in front but there is a small lot across the street. The place is small when you walk in with max capacity of 50 people. You walk to the counter and order for there or take away. We ate there and food was piping hot. Chowder and clam cakes were delicious as was the blade meat sandwich. The fish and chips were some of the best around and hard to beat for the price. Fried clams were excellent too! Overall, we would return just wish the place was a little bigger as tables were small.

Wow! A Rhode Island institution! Their clear chowder is very fresh and one of the best in the state. Their fried fish is Award winning and always fresh. While Amaral's is not next to the water, their seafood is always amazing. Don't miss eating here!

The best fish and chips in the area! Crispy and crunchy outside with flaky tender white fish on the inside, it is truly melt in your mouth goodness. We will be back.

Everything I had tasted amazing. Great place to eat. Highly recommended. Also, a good place to knock out Rhode Island regional dishes. It's a small place, but don't let that detract you. It is well worth a visit.

"Best of the Best" Fish N' Chips in New England Period! Moved here from Okie Land South and now this is my Spot to eat out and I love it here super nice people and cool old time Portuguese fishing atmosphere. Went from Catfish Hush N' Puppies to Clam Cakes and Fish. Y'all don't want to miss this place off Redmond in warren R.I. So y'all should go try some fresh fish served daily. What a delicious shop. The food and service are first rate and it's fun! They've three kinds of clam chowder. Our table decided Red was best. The clams, scallops, and fish were delicious. The service was kind and cheerful. Wheelchair folks will have no trouble. Vegans might skip this place.

This place is SO AWESOME!! To be perfectly honest I found this place by accident. I had been craving an Italian sub all week and the place I went to was closed so I pulled up google and this was the closest place to where I was. As soon as I got there, it was packed and it was barely 12! There was a bunch of older people there and people were actually waiting to be called up by number so I got excited because I was like they have to have good food here if all these people are waiting. Anywho, I ordered my Italian and curly fries (forgot to order cole slaw but will definitely be getting that next time) and sat down. Btw, the drinks are not behind the counter and there’s a little coffee bar right next to it so you can grab what you want while you’re waiting. I waiting maybe 7mins but during that time I saw the counter lady give absolutely amazing customer service and I believe it was the owner but a man would walk all the orders to their tables when they came out of the kitchen and knew most people by name. My fries were hot (like just off the fryer fresh) and my Italian sub was made perfectly. The environment was very welcoming, food was fresh and I felt like I was eating at my Abuela’s house. It fed not only my stomach but my soul! They even sell Sweet Portuguese Bread and have plastic and metal utensils for those who like to use either. This place is a for sure 10/10 and I’m so glad I found them- will definitely be coming back soon!

Paid almost 30.00 for seafood platter an there was a very tiny piece of fish couple scallops couple clams an a couple shrimp with few fries very disappointed nothing here was still hungry bill was almost 60.00 for everything

Went a few days ago for the first time. Ordered fish and chips with onion rings, which are sold separately. Came out in less than 10 minutes. Three pieces of fish, chips, and onion rings. All hot and fried perfectly. The price, very reasonable. This is not fine dining. If you're looking for a neighborhood place with quality food at good prices, this is your place.

Normally this place is 5 stars. We have been here many times for the fish and chips. The chowder is great and so is the blade meat. This time I wanted to try the scallops. I have never ordered scallops in New England that came out in bits and pieces. I have only had whole scallops when ordering a fried scallop plate. If they are not going to give you whole scallops they should tell you. I will come back for fish and chips etc. but not for the chopped up scallops. Too bad because this place is top notch. The 4 stars are because of the wife's fish and chips.

I'm from out west so when I hear about fish and chips, I expect average soup but this was well above average. Great place, staff is very nice and the food is actually affordable.

The super platter was absolutely amazing. I dined in and I wish that the inside of this place was just a little bit bigger because the seating feels like a bit of a squeeze. This is the best tasting Seafood that I've had in a long time, the wet batter is fantastic and all of the five Seafood items I had were cooked just to perfection. The service was really fast, but my one complaint is that it felt like for the price of the large super platter the serving size should be a little more. Five small scallops and five shrimp and only one piece of fish along with clams and sides is kind of not worth $30. Otherwise I had no other issues with the food or the service, and I do not exaggerate when I say that this is one of the best fish and chips places in the whole area. There are cheaper places that are almost as good though, but this was the best quality that I've found locally.

Amaral’s is one of the best seafood places around - period. The white chowder is not too thin or thick and the taste is exactly fresh. The fish and chips is a local favorite. The have a large and small fish and chips. I had a scallop roll for $11. Family owned and they’ve been around for 40 years. 10 stars best chowder.

Great place that seems to be a hit for with locals and regulars. The food is delicious, but it is definitely made for New Englanders. Outsiders will want to add some salt, but that's hardly a complaint.

They offer 3 types of chowder, manhatten (red) natural & Boston..all very good. Restaurant also.offers many kinds of sandwiches. Many different varieties of fried seafood plates including shrimp, scallops, clams..not sure we about smells. You can order ahead by phone or online! Don't forget to order calamari or clamcakes! The dining area is small, but the tables turn over pretty quick.

I have been coming to Amarals for years. Fish and chips are the best. It is a family owned business and after a couple visits you are known by name. Family friendly atmosphere. They have all kinds of non seafood/non fried items including, Portuguese soup, which is great.

Quality of food is the freshest. Staff is cheerful knowledgeable and helpful. All the staff is on the same page and works like a well-oiled machine. You can get your meal quicker than you can at McDonald's. That's from ordering to walking out the door to your car. Sum it up short and sweet there's service and food is world class!
