Great staff, great sandwiches. Only ever had great experiences here. It's a perfect place to stop for lunch. If you're in the area, you need to swing by!

A true neighborhood style deli, have been a regular for 5 years and just tried the Cubanna for the first time. I can't believe I took this long to try the best option on the menu IMO. (Surfer and Italian my usual go to) Anna's is forever 11/10

Perennial favorite. Had an excellent tuna salad in pumpernickel with lettuce and onions, plus their special sauce. Always great.

As an Anna's customer (all locations) since 1983, I'm a fan. Their Surfer sandwich, and variations of it, are a family tradition & life saver on beach days, as well as fun for various occasions. You can always count on fresh bread, healthy portions of meat, and, of course, Anna's special sauce created by Anna long before I became a customer. Enjoy!

Service was average. Food was okay, but was prepared rather quickly. I will say that they offer an extensive menu with a lot of options. There is ample parking, but seating has the potential to get a little interesting during busy times. Though staff members saw us and no one was at the register, there was a delay before we were greeted.

Italianna was 10/10. Dressing, toasted hoagie, meats, cheese, veggies. Not sure how it could have been any better unless I ordered 2 of them lol Wife got the surfer sandwich and potato salad which was great as well.

We always receive great service- quick too! The sandwiches are DELICIOUS and always taste fresh. My favorite is the surfer and the potato salad!

Love coming here for lunch! Sandwiches and soup are always delicious. Eric and his team are friendly and efficient.

the roast beef is usually very good here but today it was tough and full of fat and more on the browner side than red. didnt seem fresh. probably just an off day so i will definitely be back!

I've tried quite a few of the subs on their menu and I would rate it as pretty good but not excellent. Service makes you feel like you're in a crowded grumpy part of New Jersey or New York. Except we are in Sunny happy Florida,:)

Today the corned beef was grisly and the rye bread was on its way out. Very disappointed. Never had this happen before here.

Sandwich place, there is quite a variety, we completed it with coleslaw and potato salad, we liked the coleslaw better, we also ordered pickled cucumber, the sandwiches are large and with a good amount of ingredients, we ordered pastrami and corned beef and reference drinks, service of 10.

The sandwiches here are amazing! Not only that but the staff is super friendly. These are the best shops to support as they are small business and amazingly friendly with the best sandwiches!

Another location where I buy sandwiches for my friends who love their smashed sandwiches. Delicious as always, friendly staff, short wait times, and convenient parking. As for the prices mentioned in the reviews, I can say that this is one of the cheapest places with sandwiches of this quality. Good luck, guys.

Anna's sandwiches are local legends. Freshly made with high quality meats and delicious soft bread. Maybe not quite as good as I remember from my youth, but what is? Can't go wrong if you're looking for a great lunch.

Family owned restaurant but not in a good way.. The owner's son(the proprietor) is misogynistic and rude to his employees. His wife is a just little bit nicer, but she is not accommodating and rude as well to customers. This place very often runs out of ingredients, whether it is bread, meat, or tea, with no offer to substitute or offer to refund when the service is not given. I gave this restaurant multiple chances, one instance asked for pickle on the sandwich, the owner's son charges me $2 for a 1/4 pickle spear... I asked him about it and he said he misunderstood me and refused to deal with the situation properly, his employee saw the interaction and brought me some freshly sliced pickles so I could put them on my sandwich. Just today they ran out of tea and I offered to brew it myself(push a button) and even purchase multiple gallons of tea to offset their costs and the owner's wife refused service and tried to push me towards fountain soda.. The owners are rude, I honestly feel bad for the workers. $10+ for a small sandwich is wild, a pub-sub is a better value, and the employees are happier. I won't eat here again.

Best sandwich place around!! I always get the Surfer or the Cubanna and I’ve yet to be disappointed. It’s a cute little shop with great staff and service, they even wrap your leftovers up for you. Every single sandwich I’ve had here has amazed me in taste, idk how something that seems so simple can taste that great but they do it! Must be magicccccc!

Hot Pastrami sandwich was great! We've been looking for a deli to get a good Hot Pastrami Sandwich ever since Jason's Deli closed!

One of my absolute fav places on the Sarasota area food map! Their brisket sandwich and lobster bisque are on my menu 2-3 times a week. No matter how packed the place is, I have never waited longer for my food than 5-7min.

The BEST sandwiches - highly recommend the Surfer and the Ruben with both pastrami and corned beef - best I've ever had! Service is always friendly and nice.

Local, independent restaurants are always the best. Annie’s Deli is fantastic! Old school feel, relaxed vibe, homemade food. Get the Surfer.

Everything about this place is amazing!! The staff is so sweet and the sandwiches/soups are just delicious! I describe their hot Italiana sandwich like getting a warm hug from a relative you haven’t seen in a while! Definitely a must try if you haven’t!

Had to leave a review it’s so good it’s the only sandwich my 3 year old will scarf down! Everything is always so fresh! The pickles are crunchy the sandwiches are amazing the bread omg the marble rye surfer is incredible the gumbo and the chili are out of this world! Everything is homemade this is not some chain food this is good eatin! This is where you bring your out of town friends and family for lunch! Also if you’re a packers fan you’ll feel right at home here! 10 stars! Also the people that work there are so friendly and really care about what they are doing we are more than pleased!

Arrived at 3:15 and ordered a pastrami on rye and a Reuben sandwich. After taking our orders, we were told they were out of rye bread, out of pastrami and out of corned beef. We could see large packages of their processed meats in the cooler but we’re told they were getting ready to close and wouldn’t accommodate us. Why don't they just close at 3 instead of 4? Will never return!

We have been eating your surfer for a very long time and last Sunday your surfer was half the size and had more bread than ingredients!! Very very disappointing will not purchase another until you make the surfer like you have always very sad that after all the years in business you’re cutting corners. Lucky we gave 1 star

Very good sandwiches. The surfer was thinly sliced ham and Turkey. Very tasty. Also did a hot pastrami. Could have been warmer and cheese a little melted. Sides are extra. No pickle slice w sandwich. Very good though but would order differently as this was first time here. Will be back. #stevensleavin

Full disclosure, I'm not a deli meat kind of gal. However, I LOVE Anna's and could eat it everyday. The Surfer and Fiesta are my two favorite sandwiches. Don't forget the soups too!! YUM!

Excellent place, Great food, Love the Cuban and tried the Pastrami today and was not disappointed, We have become regulars at the University location, also very friendly staff. and the Annie's sauce is really good too!

Still, always a great staple place to eat in Sarasota! Consistently fresh! But loosing as star for now as the sandwich/meat size has shrunken significantly... Yet the price gone up?

Sandwiches so good I went and instantly got a job here.

Today was the first time we went to Anna‘s Deli. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. We ordered three sandwiches, a cup of soup and of course no meal is complete without a delicious pickle. The hot pastrami and corn beef with Swiss on marble rye had the perfect amount of meat and the flavor brought me back to my childhood. The chicken poblano soup had great flavor and A great ratio of broth to chicken and vegetables. The other two sandwiches were hot pastrami and turkey with Swiss on marble rye and a cold salami with lettuce tomato and mustard. All three sandwiches were excellent and I can’t wait to go back to try one either the fresh tuna salad or chicken salad. Definitely a five star lunch and I recommend it to everyone. It’s a nice casual atmosphere where are you can eat in or take out.

Best sandwich place around. The surfer with sauce is my all time favorite sandwich. The management is wonderful, they went above and beyond. My grandmother started taking me to Anna's and going to the beach with I was young now I grab Anna's for my kids.

I usually love my sandwiches from Anna's Deli however today it was so so. I ordered a Reuben on rye. Bread was fresh but edges of corned beef was dry and sour kraut didn't look fresh. Cole slaw was yummy. I am so glad Ingrid suggested it! She is the jewel of this deli. Always smiles, suggests something new everytime. As for the manager/owner, he is always a drag. Never smiles or looks you in the eye. Always negative. He should not be in a customer service environment. I will be back, but hopefully it will be his day off. This could be the reason you are having staffing issues. I wish you all well though.

Ordered the corned beef Reuben, but it was topped with their special Anna's sauce. I never thought to order it without the sauce since every other Reuben I've ever eaten has had either 1000 Island or Russian dressing. If you're a traditional Reuben lover like me, be sure to ask to have them make it without their own special sauce. They did re-make the sandwich in quick time and it was delicious. Also, they don't serve a dill pickle spear with the sandwich, you need to order it special. It's an additional charge as well. Add the pickle to every order. I would have given 5 stars if they used the proper dressing and added a pickle spear without charging extra.

This is my new favorite place!! Love fresh deli and always give back to local business people!!
