I have been a customer of Arashi for 8 years. The quality of their spicy tan tan never wanes.

Gave this place a second chance, and frankly it’s a horrible value. Tonight I added extra broth and extra noodles for like $8 more for a total of $32 with tax for ramen which is absurdly expensive for what’s mediocre at best ramen (see image). The garlic ramen I ordered had a burnt flavor to it. Look at my profile, I’m very much a foodie, rarely leave bad reviews, have traveled to Asia 12 plus times, have been to Ivan Ramen in New York and can say definitively that this place is a hard pass.

Really good vegetarian ramen! They have one vegetarian ramen, with added black garlic oil. Also tried the vegan honey "chicken", excellent starter as well. Definitely recommend, friendly service. Long wait on a Friday evening, about 30 mins.

my go-to for consistently good ramen. their vegetarian ramen is rich and flavorful, which is one of my metrics used when gauging good broth. if they can do flavorful vegetarian ramen, you know their meat broths are going to be good! i usually order the vegetarian and another order of their other bowls. hands down the best karage! i order the plain karage since it's great as is. just an fyi, you can order low sodium broth and sub noodles for another type if you have a preference in noodle types.

Worst customer service experience. I went there with two friends few weeks ago. Each of us ordered a ramen and an appetizer. All three of us received both the appetizers and the ramen at the same time, but I only received my appetizer and not my ramen. I assumed I would get my ramen shortly after my appetizer. A few minutes in, halfway through my appetizer, I asked the server if my ramen was coming, and they said yes and walked away. Ten minutes later, almost done with my appetizer, I asked again. The server responded with, 'What did you order?' I replied, 'Arashi ramen with NO green onions.' They said, 'Oh yeah, that's coming soon; we're tracking it.' Another ten minutes passed, and I asked again. This time, they said it would be coming soon (apparently, they hadn't started it; I assume the server forgot to put in my order until the second reminder). By then, my friends had finished their appetizers and ramen while I was still waiting for my ramen. When the food finally arrived, it had green onions on it despite my reminding them twice that I wanted it without green onions, and the meat was cold. A very terrible experience. I had hoped for a discount for the inconvenience, but no, I was charged the full price. My friends were just sitting there waiting for me to finish my cold, late ramen with green onions, and I felt rushed to eat it because they were already done with their food and were just waiting for me. Edit: Replying to your question, it was pre launch. Around 12:15pm. They were not busy, 2 other tables were there beside us

I took my parents here to eat at a ramen restaurant after seeing good reviews. Overall, it was not very memorable except that it was very salty. The noodles and soup were neither outstanding nor unpalatable. Although the Japanese ramen is on the hard side, but it’s not cooked well enough, the tonkotsu is very average. Especially after I went to LA and Vagas to eat ramen, I really became anxious about the restaurants in the Seattle area.

This is really, really good ramen. Watched 'Ramen Heads' just before to get in the mood and they did not disappoint. Their namesake Arashi ramen was rich without being heavy or greasy. Just delicious. The Gyoza were wonderful as well, I mean really perfect. They were so good, I'm still kind of astonished. I'm hoping it's like this all the time and I didn't just catch lightning-in-a-bottle. I can't wait to go back and find out... Edit: Went back and had the Black Garlic Ramen and it was excellent. So I didn't catch lightning-in-a-bottle only once. Also had their honey fried chicken and it was excellent also. This place is the real deal. My meals have always been excellent here.

My only extremely nit pick is that the stools are not the most comfortable compared to the bench seating. Otherwise the ramen is delicious and the service was great. The hot pepper paste is no joke but really good with the black garlic ramen. Takoyaki had really nice chunks of fish.

I'm no ramen expert, but Arashi is so freaking good! They've been in business a long time, and even though it's pretty much no frills, the service is great and the ramen is just fantastic! It can be hard for me to remember that salty instant ramen isn't what's authentic because, well, salt is delicious - but skip the sodium and enjoy truly flavorful ramen here!

My partner and I moved to the Bay Area for grad school and we both miss Arashi so much! We recently dined at a popular ramen place in SF which has a more limited ramen menu than Arashi.

Unlike many good reviews... I am surprised my experience was completely opposite. Their spicy miso ramen was lacking flavor and their noodle was so crunchy.. undercooked. I ask if this is normal and they said yes. If I want it cooked, I will have to request for "soft" next time. The floor was not even and the table was shaking during the entire meal.

I've been eating at Arashi since they replaced the old Uma Thai eatery before them and they have the tastiest menu in town with slurp-worthy noodles to savory sip-up-the-last-drop-bowl-to-your-face broth! This little ramen house delights with plenty of umami goodness in your belly. I always get the tonkatsu ramen with their porky broth or the spicy miso broth and always order my ramen with extra noodles, extra soft boiled egg, extra toasted nori seaweed, and extra melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork. I treat myself to these warm bowls from heaven as many times whenever I'm in the Ballard neighborhood. They also have great side dishes like karaage chicken and gyoza dumplings to munch on. Itadakimasu!

Inside this unassuming storefront is some of the best ramen Ballard has to offer! The ramen noodles were impeccably al dente and the chashu was melts-in-your-mouth tender! The broth had a good salty and umami flavour but not overwhelming. The seasoned egg was also cooked to perfection! I did get the combo with takoyaki and side salad since (I was quite hungry), both of which were fairly standard. When I arrived around 4:30pm there wasn't a wait at all, but the restaurant became packed very quickly as my friends and I were leaving. Give this place a try, especially with the cold, rainy Seattle winter arriving soon!

I ordered the spicy miso ramen and was very disappointed! The broth itself was amazing, but what was served in the broth felt like scraps. There was barely any meat in the order, what was supposed to be 2 pieces of chashu was served as some shredded pieces of meat barely large enough to hold with chopsticks. For the price of the ramen itself, it's pretty ridiculous how stingy the serving was. I've been served more for less from rival ramen places in Seattle, I'll leave it there.

No complaints at all. Ramen soup, with noodles, very tasty. Well done, delivered in 10mins after order. Service, fast and friendly. Yummy tastes, from Japan, of course. Not particularly filling (like a burger for e.g.,) but it is Japanese food. The taste is awesome. Eating noodles with chopsticks is fun futility, everything is slippery. But no issues, all fun. And best of all, not too Seattle-expensive at 15$ per bowl. You can even get great food, smaller portion for 10$ a bowl, which is amazing.
